From the first contact with their Sales Manager to checking out on Sunday of the wedding weekend, every interaction was positive. They were incredibly flexible, always interested in helping and the employees onsite were equally so. Accommodating and genuinely wanted to help. Parking is plentiful and free. The rooms were spacious with comfortable mattresses, pillows and great sheets and towels. The lobby coffee, open 24 hours, was a wonderful touch. In the coffee is in a lounge area where friends would gather. In the area, we wanted a large enough hotel for 25+ guest rooms, relatively close to the wedding venue (15 minutes away) and with a unique design. We couldn't have asked for more. I would recommend Hotel on North.

I would steer clear of this hotel and go elsewhere if you are able to as she is unprofessional, rude and condescending. I have been a loyal Hampton Inn customer for decades and a DIAMOND HILTON member, and have never in my life had a negative interaction with any hotel personnel, particularly a General Manager! This is my first complaint, but I felt it was quite necessary to help others to avoid this abuse. My 5 year old daughter attempted to get a paper cup off of the counter during breakfast, and was scolded by Ms. Rummel and told no that she could not get a cup. My daughter came back crying hysterically. I approached Ms. Rummel and asked what she had said to my daughter since she was crying, and was told that she told her NO bc she was "messing up her teas." I looked over and saw 2 tea bags that were somewhat out of place. I asked my daughter to clarify what had happened, and she stated that she was trying to get the cup and the teas got caught on her sweater, so she was placing them back. I went back to discuss this misunderstanding with Ms. Rummel, who was adamant that my daughter was out to mess up the coveted teabags here. So, I asked her name and explained to her that I thought she was unkind for making my daughter cry, and that it was odd that she did not feel badly or even attempt to apologize for making a child cry. **She blatantly told me that SHE WAS NOT GOING TO APOLOGIZE, and that my daughter should not be messing up her teabags and that she should not have been unaccompanied (mind you - 6 ft from where we were eating breakfast in a clear vantage point of me). I informed her I would be making a complaint with Hampton and she told me she "DID NOT CARE, BECAUSE AS THE GENERAL MANAGER - ALL COMPLAINTS COME TO HER ANYWAYS." After I told her I would be calling corporate, she continued to double down on this statement multiple times that it didn't matter, since the complaints come to her.** So, BEWARE if you choose this hotel that clearly Ms. Rummel is an unhinged individual with a power complex, and will not care about your well-being, and, in fact, overtly try to to make you feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Save yourself some frustration and mental anguish and stay at another Hilton property, or at least until Ms. Rummel has been replaced.

Upon sharing this news with me, the person at the front desk told me "it's okay to use the bathroom if you need to before you leave" as I was trying to get my bearings and think about what to do next. Many hotels in the area were completely booked due to a concert at Tanglewood so my options were very limited (and expensive) given it was so last minute. There was another party checking in right behind me who had the same problem and were also sent away. The manager was on-site (came to help someone ahead of me check in) but was nowhere to be found when the stressful news was delivered to either party; I felt so badly for the person at the front desk, who was clearly upset that she was managing this on their own. I called several times to try to speak to the manager, and they either didn't answer the phone (it rang a bunch of times before disconnecting) or I was told that they would call me back, which no one did. I've never experienced this kind of unprofessionalism or disregard for customer service as this hotel has demonstrated. Please don't risk not having a place to stay when you're far from home.

When evaluating hotels, I always look at the same things…read more First of all, how is the lobby. In this case, the lobby was bright cheery yet had ample seating for folks to talk and congregate . Second, I consider lighting both in the hallways and the lobby and in the room. In this case, the lighting at all of those locations was quite good if not,l excellent. Third, I consider water pressure. Hotels have a way of putting all these flow restrictors on faucets so that folks can't really wash off the soap and subsequently end up walking around with oily matted hair. Water pressure for me is a key variable when deciding whether or not to stay at a given location and, one of the reasons I often times regret staying at a particular location. In this case, the water pressure was good to good plus. Fourth , I take a look at add-ons, do they have a bar, do they have a restaurant, do they have a pool or hot tub, etc. ? In this case they had a restaurant on site which was nice along with a bar. Both of these were a great feature for hanging out with folks. They also had a pool. Finally, I look at Service. Will they provide and do they provide daily turnover of the room? Are the folks at the front desk available, and eager to help? In both of these cases at this particular location all of that was true. The folks at the front desk were nice. They were willing to turn over the room daily. No complaints here. For all of these reasons, I would give this place one notch up from average.

It's non-contact check-in, checkout & breakfast. Breakfast is left in your room the day before. Milk/juice, yogurt, fruit/scone or quiche, pastries. And really good coffee/machine - from the local coffee roaster. The grounds are beautiful with gardens. There is a short path in back into the woods - but as John (innkeeper) said - beware of poison ivy. There was also a neat trail nearby that John told us about, with unique sculptures to discover along the way.

They did make an adjustment for the plumbing issue we had which made it more affordable and much more in line with what this property should be charging. Will be nice and worth the full price when the garage is completed and everything works. Room was clean and quiet.

The resort is in a very central location, which made it easy to get around and explore the area. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite on the 4th floor with beautiful mountain views. The suite was spacious and very comfortable for two people, with a king bed and a full kitchen that made it feel more like a home away from home than a typical hotel stay. The resort also has an indoor pool, an outdoor hot tub, and a small gym, which I used during our stay. The mountain-facing view created such a calming and peaceful feeling throughout our visit -- the perfect setting to recharge, unwind, and enjoy a truly stress-free getaway.

With Nicole as manager, we are considering renting some of the cottages for an extended family winter vacation. Nicole and everyone on her team are courteous and helpful, setting a wonderful tone. The neighborhood is just ok but once you walk onto the property, you'll see why its a little oasis, right on the lake. The cottages are lovely --modern with full nice kitchens, fireplaces, comfortable beds, etc. We used local vendors which worked out so well! They all had worked on the property and with each other so it was flawless. We had such a good experience, we're considering renting some of the cottages for a family reunion.
