So we visited your down town Brea location this evening and well, I doubt myself of my family will ever return., check number 35156-8313. So after being seated, we waited for an eternity before the hostess saw how annoyed we were and asked if anyone had helped us yet. No. So she took our order. When our food came out we asked for ketchup and ranch. After the food runner left we realized the fires for my wifes burger were cold. We figured we'd ask for new ones when the ranch came. We were able to finish our entire meal before ever seeing a staff member again. When the server finally came, we pointed out the fries. When he brought new ones out we; asked for a box and a check. After waiting for 10 minutes, we asked a server to get a manager. The manager NEVER came. The server came out and apologized. We paid cash and left. Could a restaurant fail in any more? It's a little dim inside but you can always opt for the outdoor tables on a nice day. MENU (HAPPY HOUR) One of my favorite places to come for Happy Hour. Their Happy Hour is Mon-Fri 3-6 p.m. and on weekends its from 10 p.m. to close. Appetizers start at $5 including my favorite Onion Ring Tower and Fried Chicken Strips. Drinks are more affordable too, of course. SERVICE Had good service during our visit. I was looking for a specific beer on the menu but it turns out they no longer offer it and our server made another recommendation. Too fruity but enjoyable. Ok would have been 5 stars if my and my nephews chicken tenders weren't burnt! It took the food a long time to come out and when I saw it I knew why. The chef was busy in the back burning it!! The truffle fries were just nasty! My sister ordered a burger well done and it was still pink in the middle but she chose to just eat around it because she didn't trust them to fix it. My dad loved his burger and my step mom liked her salmon. The service was fantastic. The waiter, Wes was very nice and attentive. He did his job perfectly! Any issue we had was fixed right away and even the manager came over to apologize about the burned food. In the end, Wes and the manager took care of everything and made sure we left satisfied! If you've read my reviews, you will know that I usually try to find the positive in every place I Yelp, but this place really presented a challenge. I have to honestly can't think of any restaurant I have ever been to that had slower service than this place. We were seated and left alone so long that he bf had to go to the bar to get a beer and our waters. We arrived a little earlier than our party so we ordered the boneless wings which were horrendously dry but the service was so slow and we were so hungry that we ate them and prayed she would be back to refill the waters. One in our party ordered a medium steak and it was very very overcooked it was well done, gray kn color and dried out. They happily replaced it which I was thankful for. The waitress was very polite when she did pass by our table, which was a positive thing, I suppose. There are way too many restaurants in the area that I definitely will not return here. read more

I explained to her I was a vegan and unsure of what I wanted to order. The hostess said it was about a 25-35 minute wait, we said ok. It was over an hour wait & i watched everyone be seated who was before us & others who were just walking in be seated. We were still waiting. I asked the hostess if we will be seated soon and they said it will be soon, that they were cleaning a table for us. But it was close to 15 minutes & they still did not seat us. There were others that were a 2 party couple walking in & getting seated before us. No one even came up to us to update us, so we left. It's not necessary for the music to be so high as usually when people come to dinner they are there to catch up with each other. Sunday afternoon and the place wasn't crowded. There were 2 parties in the area when we were shown our table. One in a booth and one at a table directly next to us. We chose to sit in the 3 seats furthest from their table, so to social distance. We took our masks off after we sat and got settled. After we had been there for about 15-20 minutes another party came in. They were seated at another table DIRECTLY NEXT TO US. ZERO SOCIAL DISTANCING. My son could touch the 2 people behind him without even stretching his arm out. To top it off this group wasn't wearing masks. The 2 sitting NEXT TO my son got up and walked about the restaurant with no masks. No employee instructed them they needed masks. Too bad we won't be returning to this location. We came here for a celebratory lunch after Cal State Fullerton's graduation. The BF and I got to Yard House at around 11:30am and it was pretty empty. We were waiting for the rest of our party of seven who was still in the ceremony so we decided to grab a drink at the bar. At around 12:15, we decided to put our name in and they told us that it'd be a 20 minute wait, which was perfect timing to when our party would arrive. 1:00 rolls around and we still haven't been buzzed so we check to see what's going on. The girl at the hostess stand lets us know that it'll be about 35-45 more minutes. We were both really surprised but she had a pretty bad attitude and it was clear she wasn't going to offer any type of customer service so we walked away. I went to go find a manager to let them know what was going on and ask for some clarity as to why we had been quoted 20 minutes if it was really going to take closer to 1.5 hours from the time we asked for a table. At first, the girl at the hostess stand tried to say that they were only giving people quotes of 35-45 minutes so she didn't know who told us 20 minutes. It's not like we made the 20 minute quote up. Then, they said we were next on the list, which makes no sense because they had just said it was going to be another 35-45 minutes. At this point, we were confused and frustrated but our buzzer went off and we were given a seat. The food was good. Our waitress was great. But, the hostess stand was just a complete nightmare. It almost made me wonder- next time should I ask for a receipt or proof of quoted time so no one assumes I 1) made up the timeframe or 2) can justify to them that a 1.5 hour wait is much different than 20 minutes. Highlight of this visit was that the bar staff was awesome. They were super friendly and helpful. Everyone who helped us at the bar was clearly busy but didn't make it seem like it by giving recommendations and taking time to share a few crazy concoctions we saw them making. read more

So I got here before dinner time. 4:45pm got seated right away and ordered drinks, no problem at this point. Ordered dinner, now that took 40 minutes to get here. My sons Jambalaya and my 6 oz sirloin finally got here and both dishes arrives not even room temp but colder. The waitress took them back and a manager Jacqueline, came out and asked if they could re- make the two dishes I didn't want to because my wife had already finished her Ahi Dinner salad. They insisted it would get top priority. So I gave in. 15 minutes later the manager brought the two plates and while my sons pasta was warm, not hot! My sirloin was cold again! I sent it back and asked to have the meal comped as well as the drinks. I came here to eat food and usually this place serves well but tonight was really bad. The original waitress Jamie, had left for the nights Izzy covered for her and he was very sympathetic and helpful. I'm not sure what to think about this and will wait to see what happens next. After 6 to 7 minutes we decided to use call waitress button. 3 or 4 minutes later one came over and told us to check back in at the front even though we had need there for 10 minutes already. 5 or 6 tables just like ours were open and no reserved signs at all. We were told by the front desk we couldn't sit there even though we had been there for 10 minutes. We went to the bar and got an appetizer and a beer. No one ever came back to see if we wanted anything else. We had to go to the Kitchen to get the dressing we had ordered. No one ever came back so we could order something more to eat. Only asked when we got fed up and put our card in the glass to pay. They were all too busy socializing and watching the game. Won't be back any time soon. read more

Recently my son's all stars team played in Brea and we decided to bring the team here knowing it can accommodate us with outside seating. Called and made a reservation with Jason specifically for patio seating the night before and said it was a done deal for 20-25 people. Somehow my name got mixed up with another name (Sarah or something) and my rez was never made and I was not made aware of this until the day of and we were about to head over with a grill if 20+ people! It was mad confusion trying to deal with 3 different managers! However, we were ultimately taken care of and Jason was super nice and apologetic about it all! Food is as always delish. We haven't been to Yard House since moving to Seattle (as there is only one location I know of that's anywhere near us), but we frequently went to the Irvine Spectrum location when we lived in Irvine. My husband and I had our first date night since the birth of our son. We decided to check out the Brea location. In comparison to the Irvine location, this one was a lot more spacious and not as packed, especially for a Friday night. We did have to wait, but the wait wasn't too long. My husband ordered his usual -- Enchilada Stack -- and I ordered the Asada Tacos. We got guac and chips for an appetizer. Our server was Angel and he was awesome. Very attentive. It's nice when your server comes by to refill your drinks without having to flag them down. He also refilled our chips without our prompting. The guac was really good. Chunky with a slight kick to it, but not a fire in your mouth feeling (which I do enjoy, but not at 7 months prego). My husband found the Enchilada Stack to be as good as he remembers. The Asada Tacos were delicious! I usually feel skeptical ordering Mexican food from an American food chain, but Yard House definitely does a great job. The "spicy rice" was not spicy at all to me, but it does take a big dose of heat to even register on my tastebuds. The beans were good. Yard House is perfect for nearly every occasion. They're in the downtown Brea area and there's limited parking, you could always park across the street in the structure but even that has its limits. Inside it's pretty dark and loud but still a great place for dinner. There's a great patio area surrounded with heaters so even during winter it's nice to be outside. The menu is extensive and so is the drink selection. The last drink I got here was a pomegranate margarita, it was soooo good. Be warned that it is incredibly sweet but that didn't bother me! You really can't go wrong with anything here. The service is hit and miss but that's to be expected with any large restaurant. It's not that anyone is rude but just that it may be awhile before you see your server again. I would say it's a bit pricier here than other restaurants but I always enjoy the dining experience so I think it's worth it. Give this place a try if you haven't already. read more

Popping location! It's located in downtown brea and I loveeee downtown brea! Our waitress was really nice. If we didn't get our food and drinks out on time, she'd personally get it for us. We asked to sit outside because it was super loud inside (although outside was boiling hot so probably not a good choice.) The patio area is huge!! I love it! They have parking right behind the restaurant which I had no clue about so I parked across the street in the structure. We started with the calamari. It was really oily, super disappointing! I've never had oily calamari and I'm not a fan! I got the half Mac and cheese without bacon and with pastrami. I love pastrami and with the Mac and cheese it was on point! My sister got a shrimp street taco which she enjoyed and fries and my friend got the surf and turf burger which she devoured! Most of the food is always lovely at the yard so can't complain! My friend and I also got the Riesling which was amaze as always!! My sister got a black tea something drink and she liked it too. Keep making me smile yard! read more

Our server, Lauren, was so sweet and attentive. Anticipated most of our needs and wants without being overly pushy. Anyway, as often times we share our plates, we ordered- Carnitas tacos pico De gallo. Pineapple. Beans. Rice. Guacamole. Loved how artistically they placed each condiments you want to mix with your tacos. So adorable! Overall, we both liked it alot! We also ordered the porcini crusted halibut accomapnied with parmesan mashed potatoes with porcini cream sauce, white truffle oil, asparagus and bok choy. Yard house is my favorite restaurant and my fiancé isn't a big fan but I've been wanting to go for a while so he agreed to go for our anniversary. Unfortunately it was the worst experience I've ever had at this location. After being sat the server got our orders in within like 15 minutes so that was no problem at all. Our server got switched to another person right after our orders got put in and it took forever to get our drinks refilled. We had been sitting and waiting for a pretty long time for our orders as well. Probably about 45 minutes. I got the salmon and my fiancé got the steak with shrimp. His shrimp was super cold but the rest of his meal was okay. My potatoes had been sitting for so long under the heater that they had formed a hard layer on top and the baby broccoli was so burnt that I had trouble chewing it. We were pretty hungry at that point so my fiancé just ate his meal but I waited for the server and it took her like 10 minutes to come check on us after the food was brought to us. By the time she was able to replace my sides my fiancé was already done with his dinner so I just got a to go box. I hadn't been back for over a year so I had been looking forward to dinner so I was pretty disappointed in the whole thing. The server was super nice but I was disappointed in the lack of service we had received. Ordered the fried chicken sandwhich and it was cooked to perfection, the chicken was nice and moist it was great, only complaint it started to fall apart when eating it. Also sampled the desert trio but unfortunately when ordering we were not advise one of the deserts wasn't available so when it was delivered to the table we had dark chocolate cake twice and the peach apple cobbler once without asking which we would prefer. read more
