I know a lot of people complain about the food and the service, but I have never had any problems at this location. I travel to the area nearly every week, and this is one of my token spots, especially now for MNF or ThNF. I do usually sit in the bar area...ask for Sarah V or JK, they will take care of you!! Onto the beer...best place I have found in the Park Meadows area for beer selection. I particularly enjoy the rotating specialty beer selection. I'm an IPA girl, and they regularly have between 16 & 20 from which to choose. But with ~100 on tap, you will be hard-pressed to find something that doesn't suit your palate. The food is also very good...I wouldn't say great, but it's very good, upscale bar food. You can't go wrong with the jambalaya, the Mac & Cheese, or the rice bowls. Even through it's a chain, this location is definitely worth visiting if you are in the area! read more

YH has a little bit of everything on the menu, but none of it is particularly healthy or memorable. It feels almost identical to a Cheesecake factory, as the food, prices and crowd are concerned. The food is overpriced for the quality you get. My fish tacos were decent but nothing I would necessarily come back for. For dessert, the fruit cobbler was good, although probably upwards of 600 calories. Our waitress was very patient with me and my dietary restrictions (no wheat, no dairy). Although she came back from the kitchen stating there was no wheat flour in the streusel topping, just nuts, I am fairly certain it did have flour in it. Late night happy hour starting @9PM! I got a pineapple cider & 2 dishes off the happy hour menu. I got garlic noodles ($5) & traditional chicken wings (firecracker flavor for $6). The value is ridiculous! I thought happy hour menu items would be tiny considering the price but they were huge! The $6 wings came on a bed of purple cabbage and amounted to 8-10 wings! They have 3 sauce options: firecracker (sweet Asian zing), buffalo & Jamaican jerk rub. The garlic noodles were very buttery & were more like a pasta as opposed to the garlic noodles you get @ Asian restaurants. It came with chicken, pieces of asparagus & a ton of mushroom! The space is moody & modern & the beer/cider/alcohol list is huge! It's adjacent to the mall so it makes for a great post mall night cap place. I have been to Yard House many times (and will continue to go), this just wasn't their best day I guess. I arrived for Happy Hour (3-6pm which is great) and ordered the Firecracker wings and the Belgian "flight/sampler" of beers. The wings were very irregular in size (some really large and some small) and the largest of them didn't seem cooked all the way through and so I left those. They also weren't as flavorful as I have had at other locations. I suppose the biggest issue was the price of the Belgian beer sampler (which isn't included in happy hour) at I think $10.75 or $10.95 for 6 very small pours. I would never order this again honestly. Perhaps there could be a $2-3 "rebate/refund" if you then buy a pint of one of the 6 featured beers, but as it currently is priced I just can't recommend you order this. Again I will definitely visit the next Yard House I am near, really hope that they open a location in NM and you should go there - this just wasn't their finest hour. read more

Our 2nd visit. The first warranted 3 stars, this one gets 2. The good: -- Made a rez for 1:30 on a busy Saturday (2 weeks before Christmas). We were sat at 1:30, so no prob there. -- Waiter service was good. The bad: -- Took nearly 40 min for food to arrive. -- I ordered the turkey burger sliders. LITERALLY - this was a turkey burger sliced into quarters. I could tell from the meat! Um, that's not the point of sliders. -- Food temp was luke warm. It was sitting for a bit. -- Fries were...meh. This is a chain restaurant, so outside of everyone yelping this place at 1 star it will do quite well at Park Meadows. The beer list is fine if not slightly overpriced. So if you come here, go for the beer and bar area. In the restaurant - expect eminently mediocre food. Which is unfortunately what you get at most large chains at a mall. read more

My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate Valentine's Day after being quoted a 1-2 hour wait at Cheesecake Factory. We were seated quickly, but that's about the only positive thing that came from this experience. We waited over 5 minutes to be greeted and to place our drink order. A server finally came over and explained that there was a shift change, which led to the delay in greeting. That's completely understandable. We ordered our drinks and placed an order for chicken tenders for an appetizer. I received a lemonade instead of a Dr. Pepper but that was fine because my boyfriend used it to make an Arnold Palmer with his iced tea. Our chicken tenders arrived and I'm not sure what happened with those. The chicken in the one I had was disgusting. I couldn't finish it and my boyfriend attempted to try mine to see what was wrong but couldn't even take a bite. We told our server who said she would take it to the manager and take it off the bill. I almost wanted to leave because the chicken destroyed my appetite, but I didn't want to ruin the night for my boyfriend. After ordering halibut and the filet, our server came out to inform us that they were out of mashed potatoes and offered another sides instead. We both opted for salads. After ordering the salads, another server came by to say that they had mashed potatoes again (not sure how they suddenly appeared), but that we would still receive the salads and mashed potatoes with our entrees. My filet was overcooked, but at that point I didn't want to make a big deal out of another problem with the food, so I just ate it without saying anything. Our server's presence was basically non-existent, I'm not sure where she was the majority of our meal. We finished and she brought a refill (the first and only) for my drink and cleared our plates. We then waited over 5 minutes for her to return, declined dessert, and asked for our bill. We looked around for her, at which point, a busboy came over and asked if we needed something. We told him we were waiting for the bill, so he went to look for our server. She returned at the same time as he did and when we looked at it, the chicken tenders had not been taken off. At this point, I was frustrated and ready to go. The busboy saw us looking at the bill and looking around and went to grab a manager for us. The manager came by and we explained about the chicken tenders and how we were under the impression we wouldn't have to pay for them. He said he would take a look in the kitchen at the other chicken tenders and take them off our bill. We waited for our change for another few minutes. It felt like our server was intentionally taking her time and avoiding us because she would disappear for minutes after each interaction. We felt bad not tipping at all, so we did leave a small tip, although it was completely undeserved. We gave the busboy the same amount as a thank you for his help. As we were leaving, our server was standing at the host stand chatting with the girls there and gave us a very insincere goodbye. Needless to say, we were very disappointed in our experience tonight. I appreciate that the salads were free and they took off the chicken from our bill. I understand that when a restaurant is busy, service can be slow. But tonight, 8:30-10 p.m. to be exact, it was not very busy. The service was atrocious and not up to par with Yard House standards (or so I'd hope). I'm disappointed we chose to celebrate our Valentine's Day here and wish we had gone elsewhere in the area. Javier the bus boy is amazing, and deserves recognition. However, our server, Klarissa, was a disappointment and I wish I knew what exactly we had done to receive the bad service from her. We came here for a quick meal before we had somewhere to be. We arrived 15 minutes before happy hour ended and our server was great at letting us get our order in just before it ended. They were out of the first beer my mom tried to order so our server came back to tell her she needed to pick a different one. I ordered a cocktail, which was surprisingly decent. Everyone liked their food. I ordered the mac and cheese. It has truffle oil in it so it was a little heavier tasting than a typical mac and cheese, but I liked it. We've eaten at many Yard House locations and just tend to love them! Very few restaurants are so vegetarian-friendly, with an entire Gardein section on the regular menu in addition to the various other well marked vegetarian options throughout. We adore the Gardein buffalo wings and order them every time we are at a Yard House. We also tried the fried cheese curds (YUM!) and the mushroom lettuce cups. Seriously. So good! Lots of beer on tap, which is a big plus for a beer lover like me. Also, it's a great place to watch a game. Can't say enough nice things about this place. read more

Adventured to the burbs to see a friend who lives down south, and this was the half way point. It was everything I expected for a chain in a mall. Our service was great, we went for an early dinner so it wasn't that full. By the time we left stroller mafia and suburban cougars were starting to fill the empty booths, so maybe that's why I felt is wasn't so awful, I totally missed that crowd, thank God! We had the truffle fries for an app and they were okay. I saw many other apps that I would have preferred to try. The menu was expansive, as most chains like this are. There were salads, burgers, sandos, pizza, I think there was even some Asian dishes, and pasta. I went with a roast pork cuban. It was pretty good. The pork was sliced in thin strips, that wasn't really what I was hoping for, and I really wouldn't call that pulled pork as the menu stated. But nonetheless, it was tasty. I didn't realize the sandwich came with fries or I would have asked for a salad since we had our fill of truffle fries! I guess if I was ever to be in that area for dinner I would consider coming back. I forgot my ID so I didn't get any beer but there were a lot of decent beers on tap to choose from. I'm granting another star after dinner with a friend the other night. I had time to kill, so I bellied up to the bar. After dealing with rush hour traffic, I needed a shot of Patron. My kind bartender obliged, and she even chilled it for me. Perfection! I then had a grapefruit and tequila cocktail, well blended on ice. Okay, I had more than one! The service was fantastic! We decided to eat at the bar, as the restaurant was packed. The service again was fantastic. I had the wasabi-crusted salmon with mashed potatoes, and a ginger sauce. The dish had a great flavor profile. The salmon was a little overcooked, but not much, and the flavor was still great. I wished for more sauce, as it was delightful, but it left me wanting more. The salmon was topped with delicately thin fried sweet potatoes (I think), and it was not only beautiful, it was tasty. My friend had the jambalaya, which she enjoyed. I had a bite and found it quite delicious, great Cajun flavors represented. We shared the butterscotch pudding with salted caramel sauce - and it was delicious, as well. I love the juxtaposition of sweet with salty. The menu here is extensive, from salads and apps to burgers to classic favorites, pizzas, steaks, and seafood. Definitely decent. And, better than some other chains in the area. The beer list is massive! I was pleasantly surprised on a recent visit that they had Timmerman's strawberry lambic - yum! And, they always have my beloved Guinness. I've been a couple of times now to this location and the one downtown. I've had a sampling of appetizers, a burger, and most recently a decadent and delicious grilled cheese sandwich with tomato bisque. The food is always satisfying, but let's face it, you come here for the beer selection. I had lunch with a few girlfriends and we enjoyed the hummus appetizer and the shoe string french fries. The pastrami sandwich was quite delicious as well (2 of us ordered this). The beer selection was unbelievable. And the wait staff was knowledgeable about the selections and even offered a sample to be sure it was something you really wanted. It was crowded but we had come after the rush so we were seated pretty quickly. They have over a hundred beer selections. Tip: be aware that this can be quite an ordeal to get in to with the volume of people coming to the restaurant. It is adjacent to the Park Meadows Mall in the Vistas areas (where there are restaurants and outdoor fountains, etc) so a lot of mall traffic coming out to eat as well as others who live in the area - valet parking could be worth it for you on crowded evenings/inclement weather. read more

Decent place if its what you're into. I would have given it 3.5 stars if I could. We checked out the Yard House because we were looking for a new place to eat that we hadn't been to, and we were looking for some good 'American' style food. We chose the Yard House because the menu looked good, and its what we were in the mood for. We called ahead to see if there was any wait, and surprisingly there was not. We arrived and found it was a pretty LOUD sports bar. Not a big deal, we asked to be seated somewhere quiet. The hostess sat us literally right next to the bar, under a TV that was probably one of the loudest spots in the whole place. We weren't there for the game, and probably should have known better. Our waitress was nice, but she pretty much abandoned us as soon as she found out we weren't there for drinks either. The menu was fairly large, and had literally as many options as you could possibly want at a sports bar. (Too many in my opinion). Out of most of the options though, the 'Appetizer' section seemed the most fitting for our hunger level. And at approximately $10-$15 for each appetizer, that was more than enough. We ordered a few items, and they were all delicious. That is the saving grace for his place, and is a reason why we may go back at later date. The food is very good. The appearance of this place was pretty good. But my main problem was that it was pretty bad with lighting. It was very dark, and yet there was a spotlight above our table that made the menu hard to read due to the bright reflection. A little more indirect lighting, and a little less direct spotlights would be good. I suppose if we were sat in the quiet area by the windows this could have been a 4/5 out of 5. I was wavering between a 3 and 4 star, but since I come back I gave them a 4 star. The beers are fantastic. Great selection and their beer cocktails are yummy. Food overall is good. A couple of dishes that didn't hit the palate but overall things are yummy. Service...hit or miss. The bar usually has slow and sometimes unfriendly service. After a bartender snapped at my husband when he asked about the World Cup game, we left. However I did stop to speak to a manager and saw him immediately pull said bartender aside and talk to him. Last Saturday my wife and I stopped in for a late lunch. Our experience in the past was okay to good food along with the service, but this last visit was less than desirable. We were both hungry and thought we could overlook a few things and since it would take too much time to go somewhere else. 1) The menu had red sauce smeared one of the pages; when I handed the menus back to the waiter I mentioned that the menus needed to be wiped down. His response was "ya I saw that". 2) When making our drink order the waiter walked away to another table while we were still ordering. 3) I ordered the petite filet and the steak was cooked correctly to my order, but the broccoli had two pieces on top that were cooked correctly, but then all of the pieces below were charred black. 4) We were finished with our meal for about 10 minutes or so and we saw our waiter at the bar chatting with the other waitresses. We only wanted our check so we could go, but we had to wait for another 10 minutes for him to finish his social time. 5 ) On our way out the door we mentioned the service to the manager and he told us to ask for **** the next time we are in, which is the first time we experience an inept manger that lined up with the staff he is managing. Both my wife and I work in the service industry and if we took the same approach we would be out of business. Sorry to the waiter we only did a 10% gratuity to, we normally keep it above 25% but ***** inability to preform was the reflection of the tip. The Yard House serves several of my favorite beers on tap and will be returning for that, but may reconsider eating there in the future. The majority of my reviews on Yelp are 4 and 5 star, we are not picky but a $70+ lunch deserves more than what we received. read more

My lady friend and I decided to stop by on a Friday night. This place was packed and it was almost a 2 hour wait. We got very lucky and spotted some people leaving at the bar. We sat down and waited about five minutes for the bar tender. They have an awesome selection of beer and their food menu was pretty big too. We started with a snack of deviled eggs and artichoke with crab dip. The deviled eggs were excellent; the flavors came together very well. The dip was dried out, very small in comparison to the chips and pita bread they gave us. It tasted alright, but definitely needs some work. I had the pork burger and my lady had the shrimp and crab pasta. Both were excellent. The burger was juicy and full of flavor. I couldn't stop eating it and had a hard time sharing. The same goes with the pasta. It wasn't too saucy, but enough to let the crab and shrimp flavors come through. Overall we had a good experience and I understand why it was so busy. We popped a squat at the bar and were immediately greeted; ordered some cold beers and lunch while watching the World Cup. I have become somewhat addicted to another chain restaurant, and while I should be terribly ashamed, I have decided that 100+ types of beers will soothe my tears. You can count on the Yard House to satisfy even your most picky eaters as well, because the menu is massive. There are no reasons to think the food items are gourmet, but you can count on a solid meal as a reasonable price. And if the food sucks, then you can drown your liver in so many beers that it becomes very hard to chose. Pay close attention to the rotating menu of on-tap beers, because there are some delicious options you may not find anywhere else in the city. So, if you are stuck at the mall looking at clothes with your significant other, hire another dude to stand there for you and go have a frosty beverage and some sweet potato fries! read more

The Yard House was pretty tasty and accommodating on a Saturday night even though they were busy with a few larger groups. No reservations but call ahead seating is available. I was looking forward to trying the Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds but unfortunately they were out! I had Moo Sho Egg Rolls and a Spicy Tuna Roll to start out. The Spicy Tuna Roll is not your typical "roll" and very flavorful. The Moo Sho Egg Rolls were crispy and served with a sweet chili dipping sauce, which I did finish to the last drop. For the main course it was Spicy Jambalaya and Mac and Cheese. The Spicy Jambalaya was a melody of flavor and had the option of rice or linguine. I had the Jasmine rice, they also have Brown rice. The Mac and Cheese is a great combination of chicken, bacon and mushrooms with a crispy topping mixed with the cheesy noodles. I would go back again and try the Vampire Tacos, they looked delicious as well! read more

For what it is (a big chain with a huge menu), they do a pretty great job. It isn't perfect; they aren't reinventing the wheel here, but the food is consistent, and the service is generally good. One thing I love about this place? The size and breadth of their kids' menu. My kids aren't super picky, but they get tired of the same "burger, chicken fingers, grilled cheese" options everywhere we go. They have thoughtfully imagined choices, and there is something to interest my kids even on their least-motivated days. Value: The meals I've had have always been delicious, though possibly a little overpriced. I'd rather pay $1-3 extra per person for a consistent product, though, so I'll take it any day. Food Favorites: the four-cheese grilled cheese with tomato soup (ah-mazing!), the steak-and-blue-cheese salad, and the burgers. Yum. Service: while it isn't my favorite part of the experience every single time, I have had decent service. I had one server who was excellent, and the rest were "just fine." Never had any problems. Atmosphere: it's big, and there's a ton of beer on draft. They play classic rock. I wish they had a patio. Overall, B+. read more

And an added bonus: it was delicious, truly exemplary. Unfortunately, everything else about my dinner was unexceptional, bordering sub-par. The fried calamari for starter lacked the crunchiness I anticipated. The brownie dessert was under-cooked. The wait before we ordered, the wait to order our dessert, the wait to receive our dessert, the wait for the bill - I was hungry again by the time I left. Had a six pack 4oz IPA taster that was suggested by the server after he offered us each two 1oz samplers of beer. Great service. SWMBO had their house Tripel which according to our server is brewed in Belgium. It was a tasty malty beer. I ate the baja fish tacos which were super tasty. Fish was deep fried but not greasy or oily. SWMBO had jambalaya pasta with shrimp which she really liked. She had the smaller portion which looked small but was still plenty of food. I mean, so bad that we nearly left before our food even came out. She came over before we even took off our coats and literally said, "what do you want." We told her waters and since we hadn't had a chance to even sit yet, some time. She came back, without waters, in about 3 minutes. Now, not sure if you've been to the Yard House, but the menu has 3 pages of beer. Again, we asked her for the waters and some more time. She literally filled up the water and came back. Maybe 1 minute? We put in a beer order after feeling the pressure, and she came back about 3 minutes later to ask us what we wanted for lunch... without our beers. We asked for a few more minutes and AGAIN. She came back within 3-4 minutes WITHOUT our beers. That's how the whole meal went. I order a pizza and salad combo and my salad was super dry. I had to ask someone else to send our waitess over and when she walked up, she just stood there. So, trying to be the bigger person (and avoid something happening to my salad dressing), I asked for some extra caesar dressing. Her response: "why." Now, any other waitress, I would think maybe she wants to let the kitchen know they've underdressed their salad or something. Her? Not so much. She also brought our check while we were both still eating and had planned on ordering another beer. Guess she didn't want to give us that opportunity! Lauren completely ruined our experience.
