I went to Yas Chicken about a year ago and it was AMAZING. The chicken sandwich? Juicy. The fries? Perfect. The drink? Refreshing. We left impressed. Fast forward to this time... what happened?? Last year the chicken sandwich had a thick, juicy chicken breast/patty. This time? They literally threw a chicken tender on my sandwich. And I know it was a tender because my friend ordered chicken tenders, and they looked exactly the same... except hers were BIGGER than the one on my sandwich. Be serious. The lettuce was one sad, soggy, pale little piece fighting for its life. Not crisp. Not fresh. Just... present. Like it clocked in but didn't want to be there. The Yas sauce wasn't nonexistent, but they were definitely stingy with it. I had to add ranch because it just wasn't hitting. The fries weren't even crunchy. Just cold and hard like they had beef with me personally. Not crispy. Not warm. Just... stale with attitude. The mac and cheese tasted like it came straight out of a Kraft box. No personality. No flavor. Not even vibes. The drink was also mid. It didn't save the meal. And before anyone says "maybe they were closing", we ordered at 6PM. They close at 9. Oh, and the grand finale? Food poisoning. Both of us throwing up within an hour of eating. The chicken was dry, and apparently also dangerous. Now that's talent. What happened?? The quality drop needs to be studied. Chicken nuggets here are awful. If the clientele for these chicken nuggets are senior citizens and hospital patients who have sodium concerns, then Yas chicken's chicken nuggets are excellent.... The Korean style boneless wings are excellent. I took a bite and instantly got a satisfying crunch and the taste of spicy yet sweet sauce and juicy fresh chicken. I've had better buffalo chicken wings. But, I will comment on how gigantic the bone in wings are which would be even better if the sauce was more flavorful. The biggest reason I took stars off this establishment was for the crappy service. The cashier and service workers aren't friendly unless you are a regular. I've been treated way better at Popeyes...and the fried chicken and prices are much better at Popeyes, let me tell you! Sorry but I had some very over cooked chicken nuggests which were so hard and flavorless. Inediable. I had to throw them out. I have been a few other times, and had the tenders and they have also changed over the past year, more oily and unpleasant taste. THey also forgot the sauce in the carry out bag. The good- the Shrimp Pop were EXCELLENT! The Wonton Mozz, also really good, but came with no sauce? They could have been tastier with sauce. I still loved them. The Fried Gyoza, super tasty, but really salty. If that doesn't bother you, I wouldn't let my review stop you! Lastly, the Yas O.G'- chicken sandwich, was just meh. Honestly, I am not going to keep it. It was dry, and room temp, and all I tasted was some spice. As to the reviews that say it is so much bigger than other chicken sandwich places. This was my second visit and I have mixed reviews. First of all, the good. The Yasville Hot sandwich was really delicious! The fries were mediocre. I spent around $15 for the Meal and I thought the price was fair. The bad: now I'm not the type of person who expects a red carpet or rose petals tossed at my feet from an establishment, but the way I was treated by staff was unsatisfactory. They were rude and acted like it was an inconvenience, or that they were annoyed that I was there to pick up my food. Also the fountain drink area seemed dirty, which made me wonder if the machine itself was clean. I would go back there for a third time because of the sandwiches themselves, but I won't be getting the fries or soda again. My issue with this establishment is the person who came over (keifer a Dominican boy) and rudely interrupted the person that was handling my issue when expressing i was not satisfied with my order. Food It tastes so good. The Korean spices and sauces blended with the tasty chicken is just such an amazing combination. I used to love Chik Fil A as my go to for these kinds of sandwiches and Yas Chicken is easily 2-3 times better, the sandwiches are bigger and the flavoring is also more flavorful and the different sandwich selection. You can't beat it. Service is nice. They are attentive and orders went in and came out fairly fast even with online orders competing with in person. This is now my favorite chicken sandwich place! I only tried the Yas Supreme, but I really want to try them all (I'll update this review once I do). The Yas Supreme is the original fried chicken sandwich with spicy garlic glaze, coleslaw, pickle, and drizzled with Yas sauce. The yas sauce is creamy and has a little kick to if. The chicken itself is HUGE! It's breaded nicely and really flavorful. I had the order to go, but it still held up while eating. And their to go containers are compostable, which is great! I'm give Three stars because the food is very good. Two star lost because of the subpar service. Cashier was very rude, unable to multitask. She was attempting to serve the gentleman next to me and gave him attitude because she got his order wrong. She made me rip open the bag she handed me when i asked for a few ketchups to prove there was none in the STAPLED bag!!! After spending $17 on a meal i think she could have let me go on the ketchup honor system. They do have limited seating if you want to eat in but this is mainly a take out place. I have been to this YAS CHICKEN location twice. The place is quite compact and small in terms of seating since very narrow seating and limited tables. the place do tend to get busy during lunch. The food is good. It is def not like Dave's HOT Chicken but do have little more options in terms of sandwiches and side items. I have had chicken sandwich with the stuff cheese and it was ok since expectation we little high on that one and i have had once the special one that is spicy sandwich on the menu but did not have that much kick but the chicken was quite nice . Pretty impressed with their menu. I went to their Lawrence location which is right near where I work. It draws a lot of the lunch crowd and not going to lie, pretty dangerous having them near work. They have such a large collection of different types of chicken burgers! They also have so many sides, drinks and dessert. I ordered a burger with fries and was pretty satisfied. Tried this place as it was a hot topic on the facebooks. In South Lawrence, right off the highway, so it's pretty safe given the, um, stigma, of Lawrence. I went with the OG Chicken (that's what it's called) as I hadn't ever been there before. The chicken is like double the size of Chick-fil-a sandwich. The chicken is moist too (sorry). The special sauce/mayo is very similar to Chick-fil-a but is white. Crispy tater tots are CRISPY!! So good. The fries are "meh" for me because I'm a French Fry purist and prefer my fries au naturale and these are battered (or floured?). Whatever it is, they are coated. So I went out today to check out the hype and was not let down! I got there around an hour and a half before closing not expecting to walk in to find they were slammed! I'm glad I ordered ahead online! Got the OG for the wire and the YAS Supreme for me. It rocked! I love spicy - to me it wasn't spicy but I could taste the kick! Really big pieces of chicken too! Let me tell you !!! This place was worth the 8mile drive. I got a good variety of things to try only thing I couldn't try was the shakes as the machine was being serviced but they do sound delicious. started with a 6 piece tenders with a sampler of sauces these were for my brother, they looked and smelled great and the YAS sauce was let me tell you could drink it with a straw. I got the YAS O.G chicken sandwich with crispy tots with parmesan cheese and truffle. The chicken was cooked perfect still juicy and not a heavy batter, the right balance of sauce and pickles. Love the take on the chicken and waffles and you can get it as a sandwich as well the chicken was cooked perfect and the waffles were just right not to light and not too dense. My only suggestion is a YAS maple syrup sauce instead of the name brand it was good and worked but I think after having the YAS sauce you could hit out of the park. Sweet dough bites with the sauce were incredible and finished the meal off with the sweetness of the sauce and the powder sugar and dash of cinnamon... I could eat them all day. The restaurant was clean and busy which was great to see, the owners were socializing with the customers and listening to them as well.
