Food is great service excellent ambience is very friendly So I ordered the fish tacos. Never had them before and I thought it was time. They came out and I was surprised that the fish was chunky but still tried the first bite and thought it was on the chewy side. Second piece noticed it had a big end piece so I tore it apart and asked the bartender what it was and she said chicken. I don't like fried chicken so I said it was supposed to be fish. Long story short, they gave me a 25 dollar gift card to come back and try the fish. And they have the best loyalty points ever. Great place read more

We have cut back on eating out a T-Bones and recently returned and noticed some changes. We like the new remodel in the bar and the new porch for out door dining. The menu is now smaller as well as the portions sizes, especially the seafood dishes, which are not a good value. Had the chicken pot pie and it was small and still hungray afterwards. THere were issues- not sure if it was the server or kitchen but drinks took about 10-15 minutes to arrive. THe app we ordered just never came (buffalo chicken tenders). The server was very apolagentic and we asked for them to go. My T-bones burger came a tad rare and asked for it medium. It was still tasty and a good value at $16. Tbones ale is also back as a well as Blue Moon on draft which is good. Many new staff here too.....we just saw 4 of the old crew (Angie the hostess, the lady at the bar and 2 others. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is decent but very over priced. We got sodas, wings, combo BBQ plate and a burger for $85. The BBQ plate came with half a chicken breast, 2 steak tips, fries and broccoli for $26. The burger was small and had about 5 fries on the side for $20. They didn't ask us how we wanted our meats cooked but we did specify Medium Well ourselves and everything was Medium or Medium Rare. We probably won't be coming back just because of the small portion sizes and the price. We could get the same food for half the price at another restaurant. read more

We were first seated nonsensically in a booth that didn't fit all four of us, so we moved to a high top in the bar area. It was cold by the front door, opening and closing constantly with 30 degree temps outside. Service was friendly but slow, just for burgers and a steak. It isn't cheap: over $18 for a simple burger and $40 for a steak, but we know it's expensive to eat out. Here's the troubling part, though: Flies. It's 30 degrees out so the flies aren't coming in through the front door. So that was bad. Not worth the $$$, overall. read more

They opened up the bar area, it was sorely needed and came out great. $18 bucks for a hamburger is a bit steep but it was good. They have a rather extensive menu.. something for everyone. Stopped in yesterday for lunch. Not greeted/acknowledged, we had to say "two for lunch" to the hostess, who was busy chatting with another staff member. Matthew was our waiter and he was great, friendly, and helpful. No complaints there whatsoever. Ordered drinks and he told us the bar was super busy, there would be a wait, not a problem at all. My husband got a beer, I ordered a mojito. The drinks came about 15 minutes later, after we had ordered food. The mojito had no simple syrup, it tasted like club soda with lemon and lime. Bitter and bland. My husband tried and said the same thing I was thinking. Let Matt know something was wrong with the drink. He apologized and brought another, which sadly was made the exact same way, and undrinkable. At the end he offered to take it off the bill, thankfully. Twice we had to go to the bathroom and waitresses were blocking the way. It's so narrow between tables you awkwardly have to wait. As for the food. I ordered the crispy chicken salad. It was meh, the chicken was cold and not so crispy. My husband got the new chicken parm sandwich on ciabatta. The chicken tasted and looked exactly like a frozen chicken patty. Given the drink situation, and not liking to send stuff back, we each ate less than half (only because we were hungry and paying for it) and asked for the check. On the way out, the hostess still didn't say a word. Not "Have a good day", "Thanks for coming", really poor customer service. Not sure if they were having an off day or the standards are lower for this location, but we had never had a disappointing experience at T-Bones, until this one. read more

In the area and got hungry. My mom and I came here on a Saturday evening. I've never heard of the place nor know the quality but it was a nice dinner. I LOVED that you can call ahead to put your name on the wait list. They told us 30-35 min, we got there and waited a little bit longer (40 min total). It was awesome to have that option. We were seated and got our drinks and the bread. That bread is fabulous and fresh! We added the oil to the side which was good, the bread and butter alone were good as well. The menu is extensive and has many options for every palate. I was between a few and our waitress helped me with the salmon bowl. My mom got a chicken sandwich. The salmon bowl was great, I wasn't expecting the salmon to be fried, I thought it would come grilled (maybe nice to have that option). More salmon bites, maybe could have had more. My mom enjoyed her sandwich and the fries were good. The service got a little slow towards the end, had to keep asking for refills on drinks and at the end we just had none. T-BONES in Salem, MA exceeded all expectations. We entered 1984 as evidenced by the decor and music. Their clean establishment, bathroom included, will ease any phobias. Our server Stephanie was excellent & friendly with a touch of sass! The complimentary bread melts in your mouth. Their fish & Yorkshire-style chips were delicious. Both crispy and the fish succulent. Paired the chips with their amazing homemade bbq sauce. Loved their blackberry & ginger beer mocktail. Others raved about their margaritas and lazy man lobster (summer special). Food is good and the staff is friendly but the general manager is really rude and obnoxious. Don't expect any greetings from her. I think some of the staff get bad vides from her as well as you can see it on their face. She's just a nasty person that doesn't want to be there and you can tell. I mean if you don't like what you do for a living find another job. Try getting her and she won't even acknowledge your greeting. read more

T-Bones in Salem, NH is usually pretty consistent with decent sized portions of reasonably priced food. Recent Bar Expansion looks nice but the Dining Room side seems to have sacrificed some seating. But not this time. Saturday's "Prime" Rib was a huge $35 miss. We arrived shortly before 4:00 and Mrs. StoneOld asked if the Prime Rib was ready, as the Menu stated it was available at 4:00. Our Server offered to submit the order as it should have been ready at 3:55 if it was to be served at 4:00. WRONG. THE 20 minute wait should have been a warning sign. I realize that it must be difficult to prepare large portions of Beef on a tight schedule but sometimes discretion just might be the better choice. Just be honest and say it's not ready. The SUB Prime Rib that was presented had obviously spent some time under some type of secondary heating device (a broiler perhaps?) in an effort to hasten it's cooking (photo included). The result was a great big fail. Brown on the outside and overcooked on the inside. My All American Burger was a bit underwhelming, as well. The Burger was cold, two slices of Yellow American Cheese were unmelted and the requested "extra" pickles amounted to a total of 2. The Hamburger Roll was undersized, under-toasted and hard. BUT(!) the house made Potato Chips were really good. For some unknown reason, T-Bones has replaced their popular complimentary Bread with a smaller portion resembling the type served at an Aussie Steakhouse Chain with the addition of some type of oats sprinkled on top. Had dinner with Ida to catch up on a Thursday evening. Seated right away, which was nice. PRO- Our waiter, Steve, was super! Really nice, hustled, couldn't do enough for us. Ida got the French Onion soup, which she really liked. I tried the Seafood Chowder. Which was good, but a bit...gluey? Regardless, I ate it all. Ida had the old fav, the Turkey Dinner with stuffing & mashed potatoes & carrots. She enjoyed it. I went with the Shrimp Scampi as I was craving some pasta. Was very good, could have used a bit more scampi sauce, but maybe that's just me. CON- Steve didn't offer us popcorn, which I like. But we didn't ask either. Ida said her carrots were rock hard. Ended up here on a Saturday morning after not being able to get a table at Sammy Js. I have to say i was a bit skeptical going in. But really enjoyed all that we ordered. We had the fish tacos which were so much better than you could think, super recommended. The chicken lettuce wraps were also so nice and everything was so tasty. We had the best pudding for dessert and it was delish. We had tried their cheesecake and some crumble before while out on dessert hunts, and those were really good as well. The prices might seem a bit steeper than other places, but after eating and enjoying everything so much, it was nothing but an after thought. read more

Okay, folks. I promise I won't review every single one of these in the area. But we GOTTA talk about the weird ass waitress we had because it's both funny and amusing. So when we first walk in, this lady who looked like she was maybe pushing 60 comes up, abruptly takes our drink orders (sort of), only to perform what I can describe as a 10 meter dash back to the kitchen before I even have the chance to order my first Cabernet. I didn't know what to think of this. At the time, she seemed cold, disinterested, annoyed, and possibly perturbed. This proved not to be the case later, of course. But let's just say the first 15 minutes of service were....very strange, to say the least. For instance.. There were 7 of us. Naturally, we wanted to split the checks two ways. Only...she thought those two ways would be the four adults sitting at one table and the kids sitting at the other one across from us. On which planet this makes any sense, I don't know. But her weak link here is...this is EARTH. Then, even after we explain that it was four and three (my bestie's family and mine, respectively), in the end, she somehow interpreted the split to be six of us, and then a separate check which had my son's meal on it. To be clear, this didn't ruin service for us or anything. It was just...weird. I wonder if they thought we were inflicting some bizarre monetary punishment on our child or something. But like I said, this was a non-issue, as we decided to pay for everything on one check; since explaining the complexities of dividing a check two ways was, in no way, worth the hassle at this juncture. Good thing Venmo is a thing, or else I'd have to carry around absurdly huge wads of cash to pay my friends back. But, I digress. The food is consistent with T-Bone expectations, for those wondering. Got the usual: Fish n' chips with the buffalo chicken egg roll appetizer. Nothing particularly ground breaking, but everything tasted divine. The bottom line is: I'd still choose this place over Ninety Nine any day. It's a little annoying they don't have tables large enough to accommodate more than 4 people. Or....that's what I'm assuming, at least. If they could fit, say....6 people, then the 7th person could easily sit in a chair on the very end of the table. Instead, we had to grab two tables adjacent to each other with the walkway going down the middle. Not a big deal, but still kinda awkward. And with that, I'm giving Salem's T-Bones 3 savory buffalo chicken egg rolls with the creamy goodness of bleu cheese on the side out of 5. read more

Went in for a quick bit for lunch with my son. Service was great. I can recommend the quesadilla and the burger were quality.

Tbones sure has changed. I can remember going there and getting a good amount of food at a reasonable price. But today, my wife and I took out our meals. I git the turkey dinner, and my wife, the haddock. When we got home, and I opened my turkey, she asked if I had ordered the kids meal. There were 2 thin pieces of turkey, a very small scoop of mashed potatoes, and a few twigs of broccoli. Her haddock was OK but very much smaller and less appetizing than the haddock dinner she had a few days earlier at the Irish cottage in methuen.and it cost a dollar less at the cottage. My advice to people in the salem area, drive the extra 12 minutes and try the Irish cottage. It leaves tbones in the dust. And, by the way, even at Mr Mike's in Haverhill, you'll get a great, fresh turkey dinner that you'll end up taking some home. read more

He seated us in a nice comfortable area and was very attentive even when it wasn't necessarily his job at the moment. I've been going here since I moved back from California 2 years ago, and it has turned into one of my favorites. Some background.. I moved to CA about 10 years ago, and prior to that, I wasn't thrilled with them. When I came back from CA, my sister dragged me there. Thank God she did. The '99's food quality has gone to pot and is almost inedible. We've been going back about once a month (sometimes more) and find the service great and the food quality and taste above average.
