I visited the plaistow chicken connection on January,3,2026 come to find out it was a big mistake I usually go to the one in haverhill chicken connection but they was closed down,I decided to give plaistow a try I order rack of ribs, one of the worst over cook ribs in my life with a pinch of BBQ with it, I usually can eat 4-5 ribs i can't barely finish 1 it so bad, 2 side ok Mashed and gravy, and yellow rice i don't mind paying for good food but one of the most disappointing trip I ever made in a long time,maybe they had a off day honestly I don't know but I won't be going back there anytime soon! I don't know what's happened in the last couple years but this place is terrible now. I gotta ask WHAT the actual hell is going on with the OIL?! Everything being served is in a bath of oil it's disgusting. I came in today and got the rotisserie chicken opposed to the chicken fingers and the chicken was oily, the ROASTED potatoes were in a bath of oil and the veggies were cooked to an oblivion and mush. My boyfriend got the chicken finger plate and his rice was yellow not even a pilaf anymore and it was sitting in a bath of oil. We bought two large size frozen all white meat chicken pies! We have had them in the past and bought them for gifts for others. They were absolutely horrible. I consider myself to be a fried chicken fanatic. There are very few places in New Hampshire or Northern Massachusetts that have good fried chicken. After seeing the chicken connection featured on the Phantom gourmet television show my wife and I decided to travel 30+ miles to give them a try. On the phantom gourmet, they claimed that all of the chicken was cooked to order. However, we found out this was not the case. I ordered a three piece chicken meal with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. My wife ordered the two piece chicken meal with macaroni and cheese and coleslaw. The food was served very quickly and it was obvious that it was not cooked to order. The white meat was very dry and had been sitting around for some time. The dark meat, however, managed to maintain some level of juiciness. The mashed potato side was very tasty. As was the macaroni and cheese. The coleslaw seem to be overly wet and sugary. I consider this very middle of the road chicken and is far from being a dish that you would want to travel for. read more

I love their food, it's amazing and so is their service! They're helpful and friendly and deserve every penny! If I didn't live in Haverhill I'd be here everyday during my lunch break or to get dinner. I'm not just obsessed with their food I'm in love with it! You'll definitely enjoy. Their prices aren't half bad either. They require that you wear a mask and social distance, they have tape indicating spacing on the floor. And they keep their establishment clean and tidy. Went Last night on a whim. Very Busy place. Lot's of take out's. I have been hearing great things about this place for a while now and gave it a shot. I am so very glad I did. Chicken was juicy and fried to perfection. You can tell alot about a place when you can't taste burned oil in the fried foods. I assume they change the oil frequently. I loved the Mac and Cheese. It was NOT the watery orange cheese sauce, It was white cheddar thick and creamy and was delish. Although I like whipped mashed potatoes, Their Mashed were seasoned properly, thick and hearty and gravy matched perfectly. I am excited to try the other items on the menu. read more

The people leaving negative reviews don't know what they are talking about. I am a transfer from New Jersey from an area that actually has good food unlike most of New Hampshire and Northern MA. Everything is fresh and home made not microwaved and mass produced. If you want cheap pieces of meat go across the street to Market Basket or the abundant other places in the area. Also purchased a few with pork and chicken. Fresh and easy to heat up for your liking. Not bad for 3 for $21. If I go out to eat it for 3 meals a day it would cost over $40. I was out shopping and was in the same Plaza and was hungry. I stopped in and I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and it was the best grilled chicken sandwich I've had in a long time. It was juicy and spiced perfectly. I got the roasted potatoes for a side and they were ok. They seemed like they were sitting for a while. I called the chicken connection in plaistow for a last min small catering/party trays. There were available to accommodate me and the price was very reasonable. The staff was friendly and courteous and my food was ready at the time they promised. The hot food stayed hot for over an hour just wrapped in foil placed in my oven with it off. I had 15 ppl over for a celebration and every single one raved about the quality and flavor of the food choices. I got stuffed shells, chicken Parmesan , finger rolls, and a garden salad. He loves traditional fried chicken so though he looked the menu up and down it was still his standby. I ordered a chili, and lemon pepper chicken because it sounded cool. The Staff was ultra ultra nice the entire visit and just gave off that small town/old town feel. Very strange and different for a little shop in a strip mall. Upon ordering though I found that my chicken was just grilled or broiled tenders. Kinda meh but honestly I was so hungry so I added on mozz sticks and onion rings too! The place is ok for a dine in experience, nothing to rave about but again, it is clean., just really nice people. Our food was finished in no time and they offered up about 14 sauces which I took full advantage of. My dish was sadly lacking any taste and was just McCormicks lemon pepper seasoning all over the broiled tenders. While they were tasteless, they were fresh. I had a couple and decided that my dogs would probably like them better. The mozz sticks were ultra crispy crunchy and no mush - THANK YOU. and plentiful in size. The onion ring portion was nice but batter was sorta bland. The sauces made up for that though! He had no rave reviews of the chicken other than it also was plentiful and lacked real fried chicken seasonings. But this Chili... HO LAWD. IT was surely homemade, not from a can. It was astounding and you could taste it was slow simmered for hours. They serve up the dishes - including the chili in tins with plastic covers so you don't need a to go box unless you are a crazy person or something. I wish I had grabbed dessert out of the case - either brought in or homemade they all looked divine. They then refused to make my order and told me to go to the back of the line full of people to re-order. I've been to the one in Haverhill and the chicken was better the KFC. However, the one in Plaistow NH is the worst ever in eating fry chicken. I'm from the South, I've cooked County fry chicken and I was taught by the best. Their chicken was way too greasy, no flavor, and the oil tasted old. Almost as if they've used it for everything and it was three weeks old. That IS NOT good chicken, this location would make me go back to KFC. The food was horrible and this should not reflect on the haverhill location because they are excellent but the food in the Plaistow location was bad. I also recall seeing their manager working at a restaurant in Haverhill called Georges. When i was there she was screaming abusively at her staff and i found her behavior obnoxious and rude and anyone who treats their staff like that especially in front of customers should be avoided. I went to this new location on December 10, 2012, and I decided to try it out. I have been to the Haverhill, MA location several times and found the food to be very good. This location was so unorganized, granted it was opening day but they didn't have catering menus, the staff didn't know the menu items, I got a side salad and none of the dressing containers in the fridge behind the counter were labeled and I got blue cheese dressing instead of ranch, close... With that being said, the chicken fingers were very good, fresh and moist. The dipping sauce, sweet and sour was small for 7 chicken fingers and not extremely flavorful. The butternut squash was very good!!!! I will be back, just need to let this location get their feet wet through a week or two of business. read more

The Chicken Connection in Plaistow is our go to place for local fried chicken. We are fortunate that we live locally and we can dine in or take out whenever the mood strikes. The chicken is moist and delicious and HOT. We have tried several of their specials and have never been disappointed. The chicken fingers are some of the best I have ever had ... so moist and delish! We also order from their catering menu and have never been disappointed. The staff is very friendly, attentive and courteous. The dining area is very clean. I ordered the stuffing and mac and cheese as my two sides. The mac and cheese was a bit under-seasoned this time around, but still good. The stuffing is some of the best I've had. The value is phenomenal. For just under $10, you can get a plate full of chicken, two sides, and a roll. The service is also amazing! The woman behind the counter is bit feisty, but only in the best way. I felt like I was ordering food from an aunt, or a family member. What an asset to this place! All in all, a great lunch.
