The drinks were good. The Baba ghanoush was just ok. Had a weird taste. But great portion to share. I'll be back for more. Great people watching.

Came here for drinks. Had the JALLAB. Non-alcoholic, drink was decent. Fruity and sweet and had lot of saffron taste, very familiar.

I've only heard good things about Yasmine, so my friend and I decided to grab food here from Union Market. If you are feeling the Lebanese pita wraps, definitely try one of those because they're massive and worth how much you're paying for. My friend's beef shawarma was so big and filled with meat and other toppings. HUMMUS - 7 +6 to add chicken. Each spread comes with a piece of Lebanese pita, a sizable cup of hummus. There wasn't a lot of chicken (a cup's worth) and definitely not worth $6. However, the hummus was very smooth and creamy. Very flavorful and I had to stop myself from just picking up a spoon and eating it by itself. The pita was pretty stale and did not taste fresh. The chicken was fine, just regular chicken. Yeah, I would recommend getting a pita wrap here and sharing a spread with a friend.

Counter service inside Union Market. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. I ordered: -Sumac lemonade: Strong cocktail. I didn't like how the sumac was just pieces of herb floating on top of the drink. It was kinda unappealing looking. -Lamb kebab: Super tasty, kinda messy to eat but all the best things are, right? -Fries: Nice flavor with herbs and the included toum. A little oily. Small was enormous and more than enough for 1-2 people. One thing I would recommend for the owners is to invest in a menu sign or similar. While I sat at the bar, at least a dozen people came by, looked confused, picked up a menu off the bar just to read what kind of food they served, and left.

Yasmine is a relatively new addition to Union Market service some tasty kebabs. Overall, really enjoyed the meal, it's very quick (our large takeout order was ready 5-10 minutes), flavors are solid and the only minor complaints would be that portions are a touch small, and the pita is the generic really thin type. Favorite item - the toshka, basically a mozzarella and lamb quesadilla it was awesome. Other standouts - the balila (warm chickpeas), labneh (delicious), toum (addicting, but you'll have garlic breath for a while - worth it), beef shawarma, fries and pickles. The hummus and salad were fresh, chicken (shish taouk) and lamb kebabs also good, as well as falafel. The sahawiq is like a spicy chimichurri, also good. The meshawi platter comes with all three meats + grilled onion and tomato, sides and sauce. Good value and would order again.

Such a fun place to grab dinner!

New to the city and have been exploring different areas. Went to Uniion Market not knowing where to eat and so glad I stumbled upon Yasmine. Our server was super nice, and the food omg! Had fries, a falafel bowl, and yummy fresh mint lemonade. Can't wait to go back to try soemthing new.

DELICIOUSNESS!! Ok, so I'm not sure how the individual items are, but this platter was delish and I felt it was reasonably priced at $52 It was the perfect lunch to share among 3 people. The Meshawi platter comes with a sampling of each meat, fries, pickled veggies, grilled tomato and onion, 3 pitas, smooth hummus, labneh, tuom, chic peas, and a lil salad. All the meat was tender and tasty. I love variety in my meals, so all the dips and accoutrements aligned well with my eating style. Toum, which is whipped garlic, was So so gooooddd! Even the fries were good. The only complaint I'd have is our pita were still warm, but the edges were a bit crunchy. Not sure if they were overbaked or something, but the pita wasn't nice and soft as I know it should be. Nonetheless, would def return for this!

From the chefs of Maydan comes Union Market's newest stand and it's more than that. It comes with a wraparound bar with plenty of seats. Scan the QR code along the bar and order takeout or have a seat and enjoy it at the bar. Meeting a friend here for lunch on a Wednesday, we left impressed. The menu is large with sandwiches, salads, spreads, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Their beef shawarma sandwiches are the best we've had in the city. If you like fries and garlic, order a side of them with a garlic dipping sauce. To drink, we got the mint lemonade. It's mainly ice, but I only noticed because I was sad when the lemonade was gone. Prices are comparable to other D.C. spots and service was friendly and quick.

Tasty!! Came here with two good friends for a catch up dinner. Since it was our first time in we decided we needed to try a bit of everything. Based on the dazzling insta pics I ordered the lamb. My girl judges restaurants by their falafel so she went that direction. We Also ordered the muhamara, toshka, fries and toum to split. I thought the lamb kebab sandwich was delicious! There was nice balance of spice, creaminess, acid, and heat that made me inhale the thing. My girl was pleased with the falafel and announced she would return. The muhamara was great - the only reason we didn't finish is because we ordered too much food. Normally fries are a thing I'm unenthused about and I feel no need to waste precious space in my tummy on them; these fries smack. The toum was such a lovely bright contrast to the warm spices of the fries. The toshka was a touch underwhelming in comparison. To drink we ordered the jallab, limonata, and cinnamon soda. All were so good. Cinnamon soda is the fall drink you didn't know you needed. We had a great time. Food was tasty. Prices were reasonable.

Yasmine is located inside Union Market which is a cool indoor market with many restaurants and food options to chose from. They had tables reserved for customers in front of their restaurant and we ordered online through their QR code. I got the Beef Shawarma Sandwich and it was tasty but I wish it came with a side of fries or something, because the portion size could have been bigger. I do appreciate that quality of the beef that they used. It was cut into nice strips in my sandwich. My girlfriend got the Muhammara spread and dipping vegetables. While the spread itself was very good (restaurant quality flavor), there serving size was tiny and not enough to fill up a person, yet it was the same price as my entree. For a fast casual place, I think they could increase the size of the portions. On the bright side the service was fast.

Ordered from their place at Union Market. I only got one drink so I don't think this review can really be considered a full review. If you're trying to decide whether to order from here, check out other reviewers that tried several of their dishes. As for me, I'll have to come back to experience more from this restaurant before truly throwing my weight behind a set rating. What we got: Limonata - 4* great flavor and a really refreshing drink! I wish we had asked for less ice though. At $6 a cup with a third of the cup being filled with ice, you don't get much to drink and it was gone after a couple of sips. My advice, ask for less ice.

    Falafel platter - huge!

Loved it! We got the falafel platter and it was enough for both of us to have a full second meal with leftovers. And it tasted incredible. Service was great too. Would definitely return! One (small) downside is that the limited amount of seating they offer are high stools without backs which was a little uncomfortable.

Solid food at Union Market with very friendly and helpful staff. Also one of the few places that have their own dedicated seating area so you don't have to run around to search for seats elsewhere. I came here for a lamb kebab (which is a pita wrap with lamb, harissa, hummus, labneh, sumac onions, and herbs), and it was delicious! The seasoning was perfect. I am very interested in eating here again on a future trip to Union Market.

We had a reservation to make sure we got a table, and the restaurant was completely full when we arrived. The only downside was that after being seated outside, we felt a little forgotten for the first 30 minutes or so. No one came by with water or to check in, and it seemed like the staff may not have realized a new table had been seated until we flagged down the outside host. There were also swarm of flies hovering around the outdoor tables, which another table pointed out and then we started noticing too. Aside from that, the experience was good overall. The inside dining area definitely had a dressier vibe compared to the patio seating, and once we were helped, the food made up for the slow start.

That made the experience feel even more special in hindsight. We walked in on a Monday night without reservations (clearly a theme for us!), not knowing they were needed. Thankfully, they were able to seat us in the bar area, which turned out to be a perfect spot for a relaxed dinner and a glass of wine. We ordered a mix to share: hummus, spanakopita, kofte kebab, and adana kebab. Everything was delicious, but the spanakopita really stood out. It was a bit unexpected--not layered like the traditional version, but more of a rolled presentation. Even so, the flavors were wonderful and elevated in a way that made it memorable. The only slight disappointment for me was the wine selection. The red wines leaned more dry than I typically prefer--I tend to go for something more fruit-forward--but it didn't take away from the overall experience. Dessert was the one miss. We were really hoping for baklava, which wasn't on the menu. Instead, we ordered the walnut delight. While it had all the right flavors, it didn't quite deliver the wow factor we were hoping for. That said, the food, atmosphere, and overall experience were still impressive. I was excited to learn that Zaytinya has locations beyond D.C., including closer to home in the Bay Area--so I'll definitely be visiting again. Highly recommend, and maybe make a reservation!

My friend really enjoyed his Old Fashioned Date and had a fun experience trying the El Massaya Arak. For appetizers, we ordered Muhamara and Mousakhan Chicken Rolls. The Muhamara came with pita and was such a great dip. The chicken rolls were equally as good with their own sumac labneh dip we enjoyed. For entrees, we shared the Braised Lamb Shank and Makloubeh. The portions were large and the meat was tender. Neither were over seasoned and were absolutely delicious. We couldn't finish it all and saved the rest for leftovers - yum! The Ashta Bil Asal had cotton candy which made it a fun dessert to try and the Ruz Bil Karaz had a great caramelization coating. Neither were overly sweet which we preferred. I spent every summer in this town, growing up, and I never discovered this restaurant until a precious friend brought me here a few years ago. It's a dated, though efficient, and charming, cafe with fresh dishes you might love. Firstly, if you plan on having lunch here on a Monday, make sure you are able to finish by 2:45 since they close by 3pm. All other days, they are open past 8pm. We started with the sweet potato soup despite the fact that the reviews for the lentil soup here are the highest. Yes! If it's featured: get it! The turmeric and coconut milk make this soup delightful. The herbs made it so fresh and there was just the right amount of sweetness and gentle heat. Parsley really adds to this recipe and I'm not usually a fan of this herb. The pitas are soft, thin and light. Love them. We needed to order more. I've never had such paper-thin pitas. Yum! I love love love the hummus, here. It is nothing short of divine. The flavors are fabulous and deeply complex. You can really taste the tahini. The olive oil is mild and delicious. I exclaimed, "the hummus was the best ever." And then 5 minutes later, I read a review by Yelper James H. where he says it's the best ever and, "... this hummus at Cedars of Lebanon might have ruined all other hummus for me forever." While I've had similar swooning feelings over the hummus at Lebanese Taverna in Tyson's Corner, this hummus is at least a top contender if not the metro DC area's hummus winner. The cucumber mint yogurt salad is nice, cold and refreshing. You can really taste the mint. I would order this yogurt salad with every meal. The falafel pizza is unusual and fresh. Straight away-- you can taste the tahini, parsley and couscous. The dough is grainy and natural. And there are radishes on this falafel pizza: not overpowering. For the $9 or so pricepoint, this dish is a true labor of love. To prep all of these vegetables, even with food processors, must take time. How novel of a dish! Put the yogurt salad on this pizza. You will thank me. And I only did it because I was watching someone else slather it on. There were at least 12 desserts on the menu. Meow. If we weren't so full of pita, hummus, tahini and fresh veggies, we certainly would love to taste a few of these. As well as the Turkish coffee, with an authentic ceramic and metal carafé presentation.

Although there is waiter/waitress service, you will have to order your food at the cashier's counter. Actually, maybe that's only a thing if you are dining outside. The menu has a nice mix of Middle Eastern dishes. I went with a beef (or maybe it was lamb) kabob plate. The portions were fine and my meal was pretty good. It was not out of this world amazing, but it got the job done. I thought that the prices were pretty good for the area and the amount of food received.
