I got the Las Vegas rolls and really enjoyed them! I'm not a big sushi person, and so this was perfect and yummy. It wasn't filling enough for my whole dinner, though. Others in my group ordered a second plate because they were still hungry and it was good, but I didn't want to spend the money on a whole nother dish.

I had sashimi here today and unfortunately experienced severe stomach pain and diarrhea afterward that lasted the entire day. Food safety and freshness are extremely important for raw fish, so I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and improves quality control.

Yatai Sushi is definitely a spot I'll be returning to. Even though they seemed a bit short-staffed during my visit, the service was still very attentive and friendly. The restaurant itself was clean, and the food had really great flavor overall. I ordered the 911 roll, which originally came without eel sauce, but that was easily fixed with a side of eel sauce. The tempura udon hit the spot--warm, comforting, and delicious. I also tried the chicken cutlet; it came drenched in spicy mayo, which I wasn't expecting since the menu didn't specify it came with that sauce. I personally prefer katsu sauce, but once I asked for a side of it, I was good to go (and honestly, I was hungry enough that I still ate it!). Overall, this place has solid food and great potential. I'll definitely be back to try more dishes--and next time, I'll make sure to specify what sauces I do or don't want.

My third time going to this restaurant and it gets better every time. They have a black cod nigiri they just introduced and IT MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH! You absolutely need to try it! Eel nigiri is always amazing, and the sashimi is super fresh. Mackerel nigiri was also amazing as well! The waiters were very attentive and refilled my water promptly. You can tell they care about your experience. Great spot for a date night. Why? Food is so good and authentic, the vibes are so cute with their updated decor and their curated list of sakes are amazing. We had Dassai 45 sake -- absolutely recommend! Definitely a MUST TRY if you live around here. I drove 1.5 hours to eat here so if you love anywhere closer than that, what are you doing? You need to come here.

Yatai Sushi is undoubtedly one of the best Sushi Restaurants in the Inland Empire metropolitan area. Located in Thomas Winery Plaza, this small but cozy venue offers creative sushi rolls, plus wine, beer, and sake, with happy hour specials. The inside of this place is clean, well-decorated, and intimate for a perfect date night. Their sushi rolls are so good and fresh. The freshness of their sushi rolls is highly impressive. I personally love their Shrimp Tempura, Tiger Roll, Golden Roll, Las Vegas Roll, Creamy Roll, and Shrimp Tempura Udon. Each piece is prepared fresh, and anyone could really taste it in every bite. The fish is always very fresh, melting in the mouth in no time and full of flavor. Although the prices are on the higher end, it seems that Yatai pays attention to using fresh ingredients, which makes the overall experience quite satisfying. People who work here are very friendly, humble, and cooperative. If you're looking for a sushi place that emphasizes freshness, Yatai Sushi is definitely worth a visit!

An honor roll celebration and our Valentines Sushi tradition brought my daughter and I in yesterday. We loved the Yellowtail Carpaccio, Melting Albacore, Spider Roll and a few others. Everything was delicious and my daughter commented twice on how cute it was inside. We had such a nice time and it was fun they have Ramune to order too!! I had been here once years ago and was happy to come back, it's as good as I always remember. Everyone was so nice and we even ran into some church friends my daughter had just met at camp while we were there, too!!

One of the worst sushi restaurants I have probably been to! The food was lower than mediocre, it just didn't taste fresh and the rolls were kind of mushy on the inside. For example, the suma roll had brown mushy avocado inside and a soggy piece of shrimp tempura. The imitation crab also had too much mayo mixed in. The "roll" ended up being a random protein style burrito looking roll. There was also a random leaf that kind of looked like it was found from outside. The tiger and rainbow roll were mediocre but still didn't seem to use too fresh of seafood. Lastly, the shrimp tempura portion was not very good -- there were three small looking pieces and it wasn't really fried well either. The vegetable tempura portion and quality also wasn't good at all. Seemed like it was frozen grocery store bought tempura to be honest. Service was okay, they didn't come too often until we almost finished the food and then kept asking us if we wanted a to go box even though we were still eating. I don't think I'll be coming back. I'd rather try soup n' fresh which is just next door. On the plus side, there is plenty of space in the parking lot!

Delightful hidden gem we ran across.. I've lived in the area for 10 years.. I've been missing out on this place. Freshy fresh sushi ... presentation was emasculate... service was beyond friendly and accommodating to whatever we needed. Definitely will be back. H.H. Is good but the quality is what really what is worth it. Definitely recommend this place!

So I had left a raving review here when I went the first time, not sure where that went, but anyways.... If you haven't been to Yatai Sushi you're definitely missing out. They have the freshest sushi I've ever had. The taste, quality, it's just so good. This has become our go to sushi spot for my husband and I. I am usually about the AYCE places, but I'd be ok spending a little more for quality rolls. Their Cajun salmon is so delicious and one of my all time favorites. I do miss some of their other rolls before the menu change, like the Waikiki or Scottish rolls, but they have a large menu with plenty of items to choose from. Our go-to is the Baked Craw Roll and my new favorite the Spicy Garlic Roll. We also recently got the Red Dragon and although it was good it didn't match the picture and was missing the spicy mayo and eel sauce. Their garlic edamame is also prob the best I've ever had. The service is also always friendly and there is a good amount is seating inside, but it gets packed quick. So if you happen to be in line at Soup and Fresh reading my review and don't feel like waiting for an hour, I'd recommend coming to Yatai Sushi for some tasty sushi.

The hostess who seated us, however, seemed a little inexperienced and awkward with customer service, which made the first impression slightly off. The food itself was tasty and fun to share with a group. When we arrived, we didn't have a reservation, but the restaurant wasn't full. There were open tables inside and at the bar, yet we were seated right by the entrance. The spot wasn't terrible, but definitely not ideal, and no alternative seating was offered, which was surprising given the availability. The first issue was cleanliness. My chair (a velvet-style seat) was visibly dirty, covered in what looked like powder or residue. I was wearing a short dress, so it was very noticeable. I had to clean it myself and eventually switch chairs. The tables also looked worn out, with poor finishing and no real attention to presentation--just a candle placed on top. The plates where the food was served also looked dirty, which made the whole situation feel even more uncomfortable. Overall, the ambiance felt neglected. Our table wasn't properly set either. It was arranged for two people even though we were three, and we had to ask for additional utensils after the first roll arrived. Throughout the meal, service continued as if we were only two guests. The service itself was okay, but far from exceptional. We had to repeatedly ask the waitress to clear plates as they piled up, and aside from occasional water refills, there wasn't much attentive service. It lacked that level of care you'd expect, especially for the price. As for the food, the presentation of some rolls was decent, but the flavors were underwhelming. Most of the rolls felt very basic, nothing elevated or memorable, especially for the price. The only standout was a roll wrapped in cucumber, which tasted fresh and enjoyable. Also, one piece of salmon with truffle was excellent and gave that "wow" moment. Unfortunately, everything else fell flat. Our bill was around $283 before tip (about $335 total), and for that price point, I expected much more in terms of both service and flavor. I wouldn't recommend this place for celebrations. If you're just curious and want to try it casually, maybe stick to simple sushi pieces rather than rolls. The rolls, in particular, are overpriced for what they offer. Overall, it's not so much about the cost--it's about the mismatch between price, service, and quality. The experience just didn't justify it. While we still enjoyed celebrating my son, the restaurant itself didn't add anything special to the occasion. I wouldn't return.

I really wanted to like this place. My brother raved about it, so perhaps it was an off night.. or…read moreperhaps their happy hour is quite different than their normal dinner service. However, this was the experience. Came in at 9pm. Sat down pretty quickly. Ordered a Philly roll, albacore tuna roll and yellowtail roll. Albacore was the equivalent of canned tuna mixed with some sriracha mayo. Yellowtail had a pungent fishiness to it; most certainly not fresh. Philly roll was the best out of the three, but was loaded with cream cheese. For $6 a roll, I wasn't expecting high quality. But I also wasn't expecting THIS quality either. Grocery store sushi is better. We were ready to order a second dish of edamame, yakitori and a beer. It took 20 minutes for someone to even stop at our table and we continually tried to wave someone down. We eventually placed our second order and also asked for more wasabi. We received our food, but no beer or wasabi. As we bit into the yakitori, it was cold. Like it had been sitting out for a half an hour longer or more. We tell the nice waitress (the only one who was attentive the entire time) it was cold. She brings back the chicken and I notice a skewer is smaller than the rest.. they literally clean cut the piece I bit into and reheated it lol. Our waitress was very nice, but it seemed like she was literally doing all of the work while other wait staff were kind of in lala land. I may try out the regular menu the next time I need some convenient sushi, however I'm not in a hurry to do so. Will update if and when that happens.

They have a full bar area and two sushi bar areas in the restaurant. They can definitely accommodate a large crowd. They have tvs that highlight games and play music which adds a nice touch to the ambiance. Their bench seating in the front dining definitely needs redone. The vinyl like material is cracking and uncomfortable to sit on. Our waiter was great. He was very tentative and kept asking if we were ready, had questions, or needed anything. The sushi even came out pretty quickly. I ordered the double jeopardy hand roll and absolutely loved it. That peppered salmon and albacore is a game changer from the regular fish. It gives it an extra punch of flavor. The vegetable roll was refreshing and light. A nice bright option from the fish. The nigiri eel, peppered salmon, pepper albacore, and salmon were fresh and I appreciate it being nice size slices of fish to rice ratio. I love that all the rolls come as a hand roll option because it's a little smaller portion. I also tried the Halibut but no my favorite. For a premium fish it tasted slimy and had no flavor. The shrimp boats were not good. They were heavily bartered and fried. It was like biting into grease. I also didn't get shrimp from it, more imitation crab than anything. I don't suggest this item unless you enjoy deep fried. FYI, This place can get pretty crowded on the weekends and evening but definitely worth checking out!

The visit before that wasn't much better. It also took a long time despite the restaurant not being busy, and the fish quality seemed noticeably off. I usually love the unagi and salmon here, but that day the unagi was cold, rubbery, and had an off-putting taste.
