My parents, my daughter, and I were craving sushi but didn't feel like going out, so we started looking for a place that delivered and came across Omokase. We placed our order through Grubhub, and I have to say we were impressed! When the food arrived, it honestly felt like it had just been served to our table at a restaurant. Everything was packaged perfectly and still fresh. I was a little hesitant about ordering the lobster roll since it's usually warm, but I asked for it on the side and they followed the request exactly. Everything we ordered was so good! The salmon was fresh, the teriyaki chicken was a generous portion, and the shrimp tempura roll was delicious. My parents ordered a couple of rolls and other items I don't remember the names of, but they were all super tasty. We'll definitely be ordering from here again! read more

I love this place's baked salmon roll. Probably my fav baked salmon roll I've ever tried and I eat a lot of sushi. Good service, nice ambiance with low light and chill music. I would recommend this spot to sushi fans. A tad bit expensive, but the portions are big. read more

This is a moderate to small sized restaurant located in a plaza with no direct left turn from the northbound direction. The restaurant has a bar seating area where people can watch the sushi chefs at their craft. The service was nice and friend with a helpful call button on the wall adjacent to our table and the overall vibe was welcoming and relaxed. (I did see a sushi chef imbibe a sip of beer behind the counter.) We ordered a salmon teriyaki plate, baked spicy scallop roll, and a beef teriyaki roll. The salmon teriyaki came out first, and my company did not appear to like it very much. The beef teriyaki came out next and the rice seemed like the wrong type. It wasn't packed well and didn't seem sticky enough which resulted in the roll falling apart. The teriyaki itself was good, cooked well if slightly too salty, and the roll as a whole was okay. The scallop roll was good. Scallops were flavorless but we are a distance from the sea. The roll itself had a slight crisp from the baking process and whilst it did suffer from cohesion issues like the teriyaki roll, the sweet and spicy sauce, crunch, and creamy interior does work. Whilst the overall flavor does warrant a four, my overall opinion is that this is a good option if remaining in the nearby area. read more

Unfortunately, after years of coming here weekly, I must change my review from 5 to a 1. The food is not the same quality as before. The chefs are not the same quality as before. The customer sevice has declined significantly. The avocado inside my son's baked salmon roll was completely rotten. I informed the owner, he said he would reimburse me, however, he did not. It's been a while since my family and I have been here. We were looking for a place that was open late night. Luckily they were still open. We arrived here at 9pm, they closed at 10pm. Since we've been here before, we ordered our usual - bento box with 2 items. My mom ordered the salmon teriyaki & mixed tempura. My dad ordered the sushi nigiri & sashimi (which has an additional charge). My mom said the salmon teriyaki has a lot of flavor and the tempura we both like as the batter is very light and not so oily (like we've had at other restaurants). Me and my dad always enjoy the sushi/sashimi. I however don't care for the tuna. IMO tuna always tastes frozen & not fresh. The service here is great. The servers are very attentive and come by every so often to check up on you to see how you're doing, how's the food, if you need anything, etc. which I look for in service. (I know some people prefer not to be bothered). The ambiance is cool. They have 2 bars & 2 TVs. You can also view the TV fr your seat so it's cool to come here & eat & enjoy the game. read more

Hamachi was perfectly seasoned and grilled. The soft shell crab was the perfect crunch and tenderness of a crab. I didn't get to take a pic of the spicy tuna sushi and the 3 item combo as we were hungry. The 3 item combo was combo tempura, oyster and salmon teriyaki. Originally, we ordered beef teriyaki but later asked to change it to salmon as it was cold. The server was very polite and efficient. The ambiance was clean in the dining area but the bathroom needs renovation, a bit of tidying up and organization. I would be back to try other dishes on the menu for sure. read more

Have ordered here before without issue but was disappointed in the service today. Called in an order for takeout for myself and my coworkers and went to pick-up. The gentlemen at the front gave me 4 bags once I had paid and told me they were all for my order. If you have been inside before you would know that they don't really have a front counter space or anywhere to set bags down to check things so I wasn't going to stop then and there to check and make sure everything in my bags was correct and I trusted I had been given the right order. I arrived back to the office and we began to open the bags and realized that none of the food was right. Right on cue I received a call from the restaurant and they told me they gave me the wrong food and if I could bring back to it back to them. I did let them know that the bags had already been open but they insisted and kept asking if I could bring the food back to them. I did have to end up going back to take back the food and pick-up my correct order as I couldn't leave my coworkers with food they didn't order. I was given my food and was just told "sorry about that" after having to take time out of our lunch to go back again to get my order. I'm not really sure what to expect or if they happens to them often but it's definitely making me second guess ordering here again given that they still gave away the bags of food I had already opened and they didn't really seem to apologetic about the whole thing. read more

Looks like they are staffed correctly because service was good and food came fast. Poki salad - great salad! Tons of fish and ponzu dressing is yummy. Salmon carpaccio - very good portion of salmon. Same dressing as the salad Mixed tempura - this came piping hot. 3 pieces of shrimp with 4 pieces of veggies. Batter was crunchy and the dipping sauce was flavorful. Eel special roll - California roll with eel and spice tuna on top. I wasn't expecting the spicy tuna (not my fave but they made it well). And the portion size was very big for the roll. First time to try Omokase and this is great sushi place. It's located corner of Haven and foothill. It is very spacious . Liked the bar. Lots of clientele. The sushi chef looks authentic Japanese Service was good. The attendant was very attentive. Keep refilling our drinks. Food was awesome. From the appetizer to the main entree and sushi roll were excellent. So fresh, tasty and sushilicious The Yellowtail collar and salmon collar were grilled to perfection. The ponzu sauce blended well with grilled fish . The vegetables tempura battered was so crispy and not to oily. The rainbow roll, unagi roll and baked salmon roll were so delicious. The sushi rice didn't fall off when you picked with chopsticks. The other sushi place that we go to frequently their rice roll was too soft and it breaks when you pick it up. The baked mussels were excellent not rubbery when you eat it . The sauce mixture they put on top was splendid. The tempura green ice cream ended our anniversary dinner well. We went here on a girls date and let me tell you it didn't disappoint! The sushi was so good and fresh! Their service was great they made sure we had all we needed and asking for extra sauces was no problem, they were extremely welcoming. The ambience of the restaurant was very sushi normal they had spread out the customers on both sides so we didn't feel overly close to other and they had sports on their screens which was great as a personal sports fan. I have been to Omokase a few times over the years but never had the chance to review them. Very convenient location in Rancho with lots or parking, we were a party of 2 and were greeted right away by almost every staff member which was very welcoming. We sat on the bar and was very spacious and had room for multiple plates. The Chef at the sushi bar took care of us, very nice and took very good care of us. Food came out quick and everything was fresh, delicious and nothing smelt fishy 5/5. Overall was a nice experience and will definitely be back, highly recommended! read more

This used to be our weekly go to spot for sushi in Rancho but we tried to go after my sons graduation and the little young kid with glasses was ignoring us! Not the right way to treat repeat customers who support your business! All the tables were full, but the sushi bar was completely empty and I asked if the bar was taken or reserved. They ignored me so I finally asked a waiter if we could sit at the bar and he said yeah possibly (wink wink) then when I brought my guests in, they all started yelling at me! Beef teriyaki was more like boiled flap meat. Never had the worst Japanese food in my life. Sashimi was not fresh and not cold. Variety was only tuna and salmon three pieces each cut and rolled on bed of daikon radish. Blah We sat near kitchen which swinging stainless steel door was filthy and rusty. Got a glimpse of kitchen which exposed filthy kitchen appliances. This put the icing on the cake. Service was also bad. Too many guests for Dodger game and three waiters. Of course we never knew who our server was as it changed when food was delivered. Never was asked how food was nor offered any other services. Had to ask whomever walked by for our bill. I'm pretty sure some sushi we ate here was bad and I'm pregnant. My bf said he felt like throwing up couple hours after and then later on that night my stomach was bubbling and I ate like half the bottle of my tums. I couldnt sleep because I felt nauseous and I've never felt nauseous like this my whole pregnancy. I actually kinda have a fear of throwing up so I suppressed it as much as I could. It's 10pm and I'm currently sitting on the toilet with a stomachache. We didn't even get anything raw because I cannot eat that stuff, also anywhere else I've ever ate sushi it tasted way more fresh and they have had fresh made green tea this place gave me green tea in a can and it wasn't even a full cup for 5$ and no refills?! I love my green tea and was disappointed. Also service was alr, I feel like the dude rushed us. Food is still good. Bento box combo is a great option. Used to offer brown or fried rice for a small upcharge. Now they only offer steamed rice, which sucks. The staff was great, ambiance was nice but the food just didn't seem right. Appetizers were good but the fish from the sushi just tasted so fishy. The quality of the food has change for the worse and we found out they have new owners. Yakisoba noodles were greasy & salty. Baked salmon roll was over baked and tasted a little fishy. Also, the lobster roll lobster topping was hard and over fried. Terribly Chewy. We sent it back and wanted the chef to just lightly fry another batch of the lobster topping. He refused and said it was perfect and sent it back to our table. So then declined to item all together. Shrimp tempura roll, roll was cold and shrimp on top was hot. The sushi is good but extremely overpriced for what it is. The wait staff is very rude, I guess that's why they have bells at every table because they aren't very attentive. I ordered a roll Togo along with the rest of my order but when I went to pay and leave still had to wait 10 min for something I ordered an hour ago. And when I asked about it the waiter was extremely rude and unprofessional.
