Completely disappointed. Took a ring in for an appraisal, received a single piece of paper that looked absolutely amateurish, as if it came off of a teenagers' home printer. Not even a signature for validation nor any reference to the appraisers qualifications. Other appraisals we've gotten from other jewelers had reports that were signed, on official documentation with embossed insignias. I'm confused, on their page it states they buy gold and diamonds. Yet when I went in, the representative told me they only pay for the gold and not the diamonds. She said a few other things that were red flags, like one of my gold necklaces was "Janky", but was willing to offer me over a $100 for it. Why would a reputable jeweler pay anything for a "janky" necklace? They're the experts, and if it was questionable, there should be no offer. It either is or it isn't gold. Her comments lead me to believe she wasn't knowledgeable at the very least or was a liar at the very worst. I prefer to believe she just wasn't knowledgeable, and I would recommend caution if you choose to do business with Yates. read more

I worked with Melani to design my hubbies ring and my wedding earrings. I have a metal allergy so they suggested I get platinum earrings to be truly hypoallergenic. I sent picture samples of what I was looking for and Melani found me the closest designs she could get made in platinum. Loved my experience here! My fiance came in the check out engagement rings and the salesman (I lost his card so I don't remember his name) was very low pressure and friendly. Later on, the fiance brought me in here with him and I could tell why he liked this place better than the other we had been to (any of the mall stores, too high pressure). What I loved about the saleswoman who helped us was that she actually listened to me when I told her what I wanted and she didn't try to steer me toward the giant expensive rings. This review is for a jewelry repair. I dropped off my wedding ring and was told an estimate price, and date I could pick up. I had to keep calling to see if it was done, and each time they acted like the goldsmith they used was at fault for the delay. Way to pass the buck. Then they returned my call to say the repair would now be $120 more than estimated. BTW this store was my second opinion place, the original estimate Yates gave was higher than the first place gave me. Plus now it would be an extra week. 18 days after the original date promised, I was finally able to pick my ring up. I won't be returning here. read more
