Half of my go-to Etouffee & half garlic chicken alexio (not my fav) but still delicious

Came to get my étouffée fix. It's been a while and Yats doesn't usually disappoint. Well, today I was a little underwhelmed. My crawfish etoufee was missing a little seasoning-but I think it was an off day. I forgot how tight the parking lot. But good service. The young man at the front was knowledge when my +1 had some questions. We'll see next time.

Love their chicken maque choux and the side of garlic bread that comes with every order is buttery goodness. Also got their peanut butter pie which will be enjoyed later once I'm not quite so full from lunch!

I can't go home without coming here. The are super affordable, the food has amazing flavors and the portions are huge! Their garlic bread is out of this world make sure to order extra when you go. One of my favorites is their red beans and rice..omg it's life changing. The greatness does not stop with their food, their customer service is amazing. They smile at you, and hey hold a conversation with you and at goodbye when you leave. It's hard to find cheap good and fast but they have mastered it

Easy to get to in Greenwood and delicious! We came on a Sunday night. We saw lots of people pick up food for takeout but we decided to eat in. Yats is one of my husband's favorite restaurants and this was my first Cajun experience. We've never been to this location before and it was nice and quiet in a strip mall. Plenty of parking right in front of the storefront. Plenty of open seating and the red walls are covered with restaurant memorabilia and New Orleans inspired pieces. I love their chalkboard menu that already had a couple items erased - definitely proof of their popularity and changing menu. My husband recommended drunken chicken as my first entry into Cajun food and he got gumbo. We both liked the drunken chicken better. They also have a variety of hot sauces to try and I loved their homemade sauce with the drunken chicken, it added a nice tangy punch. This meal was great and would definitely eat again. Chicken in a sauce over rice, not a variety of other ingredients I might have expected, the texture was pretty simple. Also their seasoned bread is absolutely delicious and worth ordering extra. This is a great affordable option and I will definitely be back.

Creole and Drunken chicken, Toasted bread was a nice surprise

Definitely my kind of place, good Cajun food offered. Smaller menu on a chalkboard to choose from. I had a split order of Drunken Chicken and Gumbo-super tasty and a nice portion for lunch with toasted bread. Lots of hot sauces to choose from, only suggestion is to plate it a little nicer so the entrees are not all one plate spilling into each other.

Yats is delicious, and an Indy staple. There are a few locations and I decided to check out the location on the south-side of Indianapolis. The location is awesome! When you walk in it feels very New Orleans inspired. The menu is simple but flavorful, plus it rotates on a regular basis. When we visited I decided to go with the chilly cheese étouffée with crawfish . If you enjoy étouffée try this on the menu, it's a perfect portion and full of flavor! For drinks you also have options for Pepsi products, don't forget to check out the assortment of hot sauces that they offer. Other menu items that are offered are Red Beans. w/sausage. Pozole Stew. White Chili. w/chicken. Chipotle Alejandro. Chicken Creole. B&b. (black beans and carmelized corn) Spinach Mushroom Etouffee Never had a bad thing here and can't wait to visit again once restaurants open back up!

This was my first time here and husband was really wanting to take me here, see what I think of it being a vegetarian. Quite an interesting quirky place and good vegetarian options on the menu. Loved the bread served with the food because delicious flavored up butter! Otherwise I felt like my food was cajun version of Indian food. This means I liked the food, but also felt like it was nothing over the top snd I could easily cook it at home. Wouldn't mind going again but won't be first choice.

Gladly when it was our turn the young lady that took my name down remembered because he was totally calling out a whole different name, could have been missed had she not been up there or if I wasn't paying attention. Got seated. Our server was very nice and helpful since it was my first time. Chloe did an excellent job by explaining how the boil works and flavoring etc. we ordered lemon drop martinis. Unfortunately they missed the mark. They definitely were not prepared properly which is fine but I guess it's my fault considering it's not known for their drinks. No hard feelings I drank mine. I ordered hush puppies to start...definitely need some more of these! Flavorful and the sauces it came with were delicious. I ended to dipping mine in my boil bag and let me just say that was AMAZING. I ordered the scallops and shrimp and added the boiled eggs for an extra charge of $2.95. Very delicious very tasty and the garlic lemon Cajun mild was a great choice. Everything was cooked exactly right and the seasoning was on point it wasn't overly salty or spicy and yet wasn't even an ounce of bland. I of course took my half home and glad she wrapped it up good so nothing leaked out. Needless to say the bag boil was very good and definitely would go back. As far as ambiance goes it was very busy and lots of people enjoying their food. Lighting was a bit soft but it wasn't bad. (Pics aren't loading, I'll add when internet isn't acting up)

I recently tried Slap's Fish Market and sampled a little bit of everything--lobster roll, burrito,…read morecheesecake, and their lobster deviled eggs--and overall it was a really memorable experience. The service was very helpful deciding what to order. The setting was fun down town indanopolis feel. The lobster roll was definitely the standout. It was packed with fresh, flavorful lobster and had a nice balance of buttery richness without feeling too heavy. You can tell the seafood is high quality, which makes a huge difference. The lobster deviled eggs were super unique and honestly one of my favorite bites. Creamy, slightly tangy, and topped with lobster--it's not something you see everywhere, and they executed it really well. My husband tried the shrimp burrito, which was great for a seafood spot. It was hearty, well-seasoned, and filled generously. It didn't feel like an afterthought on the menu. To finish, the cheesecake was a great choice it was from the cheesecake factory is what the offered for my birthday smooth, rich, and just the right level of sweetness with a strawberry topping to end the meal without being overwhelming. Overall, Slap's Fish Market delivers on both creativity and quality. It's a great spot if you want fresh seafood with a few fun, unexpected twists. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Not gonna lie, my work group really likes coming here when we have lunch outings. My only problem?…read moreI very much dislike seafood to any capacity. Yet, I still eat here just fine. I feel like most seafood places will have vegetarian options by way of removing the fish from pasta dishes or salad, but it's also nice to know that you can get chicken as a substitute on most of these kinds of dishes, too. Granted, it's just like chicken tenders, but still good nonetheless. I really like their firecracker pasta, which is moderately spicy in my opinion. There's no particular fishy smell here, which is always a good sign that the seafood they serve here is freshly prepared. Our food always comes out quickly for lunch and we've been a group as large as 8 or 9. I do believe that ordering is mostly done online in their mass Ave location, though. I don't really seek out a place like Slapfish on my own (no offense at all, just not a seafood girlie!!), but I would assume that it's a rather popular establishment as they recently opened a fifth location in the greater Indy area. If I did like fish and such more, I'd probably be here on a more regular rotation.

I was looking for a healthy restaurant via Yelp. First, I called this restaurant to inquire more…read morebefore driving 30 min. out of my way. Erica, the owner and the main person in her family-owned restaurant, did answer some of my questions during her busy lunch time, but I was more convinced to go because of the organic items and the cook-to-order option. The location is easily found via a GPS and beside Jimmy John. In Healthy Food Cafe, Christian music is playing or a TV is on. I tried a $11.99 grilled chicken bowl without her sauce. It was delicious and not dry. Also, I bought 2 prepped meals for $11.99 each of cage-free turkey rib, sweet potato souffle, and organic green beans. I was planning for my Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. I don't own a microwave; for Thanksgiving, I forgot to thaw an entree so I had to wait to heat on the stove. At first, I thought there was a little turkey meat on the rib, but when I ate from the other side, I was more delighted. The sweet potato had yummy nutmeg; I could not taste the healthy bit of ginger, which I don't like. As for the prepped meals, you can get a 10 percent discount if you buy 7+ or a 20 percent off if buying 14+ organic meal preps. Beware sometimes they sell out. Erica was friendly and very helpful. I felt comfortable talking about my needs / wants for my health and taste. She has options for all kinds of people! Apparently, there is a credit card charge of 3.5 percent. Don't let that discourage you so bring cash as the food and the service are worth it. Where can you find organic food cooked to order?! I have been planning to Yelp sooner. I called yesterday to see about what meal preps she would have. Today, I returned after being on a restricted diet as required and again, I traveled in the opposite direction. For my late lunch, I tried a $10.99 BBQ bacon chicken salad with vegan bacon and low-fat mozzarella instead of cheddar and organic cauliflower instead of the organic cabbage. She offered a special BBQ. My entree was aromatic and hit the spot as I was wanting minimal sugar and salt. Before the restaurant closed at 6 p.m., I ordered a lean sirloin steak Cajun fajita quesadilla with 5 cheeses, etc. with a tomato basil tortilla; unfortunately, the steak had a few grizzles. The quesadilla was cut into 7 pieces so enough for 2 meals. My customized quesadilla was spicy and delicious. Also, I bought 2 organic meal preps - 1) grass-fed beef lasagna made of rice noodle and no ricotta cheese with a little tomato and 2) another turkey rib entree. I have gotten to know Erica, who is very talented in that she was a veteran, studied in the nursing field, and worked in the gym industry. All to often, someone in the medical field is not trained in the nutrition field. It is great that Erica has integrity to source quality food even when the cost of organic food is increasing. I would definitely return for a third visit! The cost may be a little more than at other restaurants but not too costly for healthy options. Unfortunately, this restaurant is on the opposite side of Indy. I buy more to eat later and make it worth my trip beyond getting to know Erica.

This place serves fresh, healthy food and generous portions at fair prices…read more The Jerk Tofu Tacos and the Tropical Tacos were delicious. The jerk were my favorite. You get 3 tacos, stuffed with veggies. I added guac and salsa each time. 10/10 recommend. The Organic Stir Grill Bowl (no mushrooms) and the Jerk Tofu Salads were both light, healthy and satisfying meals. I tried their vegan brownies with their homemade Almond Caramel Swirl ice cream. That brownie was not good. At all. (to me) The ice cream, however, was very tasty. I also tried the berry and turtle cheesecakes. I was not a fan of the cheesecakes either. They, along with the brownie, tasted more like the earthy, old school 1970s vegan desserts. IYKYK But apparently the town folk love them because she said they sell out quickly. Bless their hearts. I also tried the Berry Berry Good and Mango Crusher smoothies. Both were very delicious. You could tell that they make their smoothies with fresh fruits and pure ingredients. Although I didn't care for most of the desserts, I would definitely return for more tacos, stir grill bowls, and smoothies.
