My absolute favorite restaurant and I miss it so much now that I have moved away. I always opt for one of their vegetarian dishes, with my favorite being the spinach and mushroom etoufee. The vegan white chili is a close second. And oh my gosh that bread - idk what they put on it but it's crack - Cajun-y, garlic-y crack (so yeah, get extra bread). Easy to get to in Greenwood and delicious! We came on a Sunday night. We saw lots of people pick up food for takeout but we decided to eat in. Yats is one of my husband's favorite restaurants and this was my first Cajun experience. We've never been to this location before and it was nice and quiet in a strip mall. Plenty of parking right in front of the storefront. Plenty of open seating and the red walls are covered with restaurant memorabilia and New Orleans inspired pieces. I love their chalkboard menu that already had a couple items erased - definitely proof of their popularity and changing menu. My husband recommended drunken chicken as my first entry into Cajun food and he got gumbo. We both liked the drunken chicken better. They also have a variety of hot sauces to try and I loved their homemade sauce with the drunken chicken, it added a nice tangy punch. This meal was great and would definitely eat again. Put the sauce in a small cup (kept near the sauces) so you can try several different ones. That way you don't clutter your table with different bottles. This was my first time here and husband was really wanting to take me here, see what I think of it being a vegetarian. Quite an interesting quirky place and good vegetarian options on the menu. This was our first time ordering from the Greenwood location on 31. Our normal Yats is on Mass Ave. We ordered a quart to go. The food was not bad, the bread was a little different but not bad. Instead of our normal quart container our food was in 2 Pint containers. While we were spooning the Chk and Chorizo, we noticed 1 of the pint containers that was supposed to make quart, had rice at the bottom of the container. I have never had this happen before at any other Yats. Needless to say, we will definitely will never visit this location and be sure to warn everyone in our foodies' group. I absolutely LOVE yats! The crawfish ettoufee is my favorite thing. It's seasoned so well, rich, creamy, and loaded full of flavor. I always ask for extra bread because that my friends is where it's at! I've tried a few other things on their menu and haven't had anything that I don't care for except for the red beans rice (but I'm also not a huge fan of red beans and rice to be honest). I also love that no matter which location you go to, you'll always get the same thing with the same taste as they cook all of it at their broad ripple location and then ship it out.
