My friend invited me out so she chose. Never had been so figured I should go. Very busy place and glad we got our name in before some guy took over...he was very disoriented and had no idea what was going on. Gladly when it was our turn the young lady that took my name down remembered because he was totally calling out a whole different name, could have been missed had she not been up there or if I wasn't paying attention. Got seated. Our server was very nice and helpful since it was my first time. Chloe did an excellent job by explaining how the boil works and flavoring etc. we ordered lemon drop martinis. Unfortunately they missed the mark. They definitely were not prepared properly which is fine but I guess it's my fault considering it's not known for their drinks. No hard feelings I drank mine. I ordered hush puppies to start...definitely need some more of these! Flavorful and the sauces it came with were delicious. I ended to dipping mine in my boil bag and let me just say that was AMAZING. I ordered the scallops and shrimp and added the boiled eggs for an extra charge of $2.95. Very delicious very tasty and the garlic lemon Cajun mild was a great choice. Everything was cooked exactly right and the seasoning was on point it wasn't overly salty or spicy and yet wasn't even an ounce of bland. I of course took my half home and glad she wrapped it up good so nothing leaked out. Needless to say the bag boil was very good and definitely would go back. This place is incredible -- truly amazing food! The seafood is outstanding, and every flavor is spot-on. We loved everything. But... you've got to fix the ranch. The ranch is key! The kids need it for their tenders, and honestly, you need it for the wings too. A good ranch just brings everything together. And one more thing: you need a biscuit, roll, or even a hush puppy to soak up all those amazing juices in the bags. That would take the experience to a whole new level. There's nothing negative here -- the food is phenomenal -- but these small fixes would make an astronomical difference. read more

My dad actually picked this place since he came into town. I had no idea about it since I lived closer to downtown. The seafood was surprisingly delicious. I'm from Virginia so I'm a little picky about the seafood I eat however the muscles, the crawfish, the crab, the potato everything was seasoned well it was fresh. It was delicious. I have no complaints. I will definitely be back. They have weekly specials. The drink I had was called the something tiger. I don't remember the full name and then I also had a few tequila sunrises, and between just the superior weight staff and just the general vibe and ambience of the restaurant I'll definitely be back whether it be with my dad again or just by myself. DO NOT EAT HERE This was one of the most UNPROFESSIONAL and RIDICULOUS experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. We are REGULAR customers who come here 1-2 times a MONTH. We spend a good amount of money here. We ordered our food NO SPICE -- very clearly. The food came out SPICY anyway. When we explained the issue, instead of remaking it properly, we were told they could just wash the seafood off and put no spice on it. That does NOT work, and they know it. Once the seasoning is in, it's in. We've had this happen before. We refused to accept food we couldn't eat, and instead of handling it like adults or managers, staff THREATENED to call the police on us. Over a WRONG order. Let that sink in. We weren't yelling, we weren't scamming, and we weren't asking for free food. We simply didn't want to eat food that could cause STOMACH issues because the kitchen messed up. Threatening customers with COPS over a mistake YOU made is insane behavior. This place is NOT cheap, and customers deserve RESPECT -- especially loyal ones. If this is how you treat people when something goes wrong, don't be surprised when business drops. Completely unacceptable. We will NOT be returning. read more

I ordered Thousand Island dressing and she brought Italian. My wife opened one of the containers of dressing and put her finger in it to see what it was. When I told her server I ordered Thousand Island she informed me they didn't have that. I asked what do you have and rattled off 4 kinds. My wife said do you have honey mustard and she said yes!! Then she took the two containers of Italian and i assume returned them to the kitchen. Salads were very wilty, leafy, and barely edible. Oysters were so so and didn't taste fresh. Day #3 Indianapolis Addition I'm not sure where to begin with this review. The Juicy Seafood is a seafood spot with several locations around the Indianapolis area and came recommended by a local. Their aim is to provide fresh seafood free of additives to preserve its original flavor and taste. This was a hit or miss. Since we had a long day of competition judge and facilitating which brought us to this fine city, we decided to place our order online for pickup. The online ordering was pretty easy and straight forward, except for the fact that you CANNOT pay online! So you order gets placed to the restaurant and you pay when you get there. Naturally, we waited 20 minutes before heading over so that we would arrive close to the time the seafood should have been ready. When we arrived, the staff for very kind and polite. Unfortunately, our order was not ready. As a matter of fact, they hadn't even BEGUN to prepare it! Although you can order online, they do not prepare your order until you have arrived at the restaurant and paid for your order. WHAT'S THE POINT!! This was super frustrating because we placed our order at 7:11pm, but did not receive our order until 8:47pm! You might as well order at the restaurant, since AHEAD has somewhat of a different meaning. Moving on to the food. My Chef de Cuisine order Onion Rings and his favorite Clam Chowder. Well, the Clam Chowder was too thin and quit bland. Almost as if water was added to the batch to stretch out one order on a pot that was almost gone. The Onion Rings were crunchy and pretty good, but Cold! Now that's a feat within itself. Typically, if something Battered and fried is cold, it becomes soggy. So, that's something. Your Seafood Executive Chef had the Mr. Caption! 1/2lb Shrimp, 1 Snow Crab cluster, 1/2 lb of sausage, 2 potatos, 2 Eggs, and 1 Corn in the Juicy Sauce which is a combination of their 4 choices of sauce, and medium heat. I am very happy to say, it was really good! The sauce had just the right amount of heat. The sausage was really food and the crablegs were sweet! The shrimp was slightly overcooked, but other than that, a win! Needless to say, You'll save yourself some time, by just going to the restaurant and placing your order. Stick to the basics. Girlfriend ordered Snow crab and sausage with garlic seasoning no spice, came as Cajun Spicy with extra things she did not order, (server did not write anything down and we had a 4 person table) wouldn't have been a problem but server said she could take it back if girlfriend removed crab legs she had touched. Said if she kept the meal we would have to pay for it and we said we would not pay for their mistake. Server then said if we did not pay then it would come out of her pay. Called manager over. Manager had gf remove extra items we did not want and offered to take meal back. (Manager said that they would just give it to the kitchen staff, mind you my girlfriend had now touched everything with bare hands removing extra stuff) We sent the whole thing back, manager did not ask for the correct order and came back with another wrong order. Dealt with the second wrong order. 2. Forgot to bring out a side of Coleslaw 3. Catfish was very bland and mushy 4. I would be more understanding of getting the order wrong if the place was absolutely packed. But we were 1 of maybe 5 tables. So! This location has gone through some turnover, despite a central location on a busy intersection. First thing I noticed: wow, they really cleaned the place up and made it shiny and appealing! On entering, it's decorated nautical-kitsch, which is kind of fun. Our server was trading bartending duties with her coworker -- with the clean new ambience, I wasn't expecting her to be wearing shredded jeans, but it didn't bug me. She was FAST and efficient, and very pleasant. Looked at the menu: surprise! This is a Cajun-style crawfish boil place. This means: 1) you choose what critters you want boiled, 2) you choose what sauces/spices/spice level you want, and 3) your order arrives in a tin pan covered in a garbage bag, which the server shakes vigorously, then opens the bag to let you at the noms. Bibs, gloves, kitchen shears (instead of crab crackers) and wet wipes are provided, and *you will need them*. (Get a drink with a straw -- better yet, bring your own reusable straw. Drinks are standard bar fare -- nothing fancy.) Hubby and I ordered a special for two: it included two lobster tails, two bunches of crab legs, and a pile o' black mussels. We chose garlic butter, as I didn't want to bury the flavor of the lobster. Paid $69 for this -- flavor was drowned anyways, as there was SOME spice in there. And GIANT PILES OF SALT. I love salt. I crave salty foods. THIS WAS TOO SALTY FOR ME. (Those with high blood pressure: do not eat here.) Was it worth the cost? Nope. Was it tasty? Yep. Atmosphere is fun. You cannot tell that used to be Ponderosa. The service was OK but it was only her 2nf shift of her own. The displays and fanfare around getting your meal was very cool. The apps were so so. The clam chowder wasn't good. The crab cake had veggies in it. I wasn't a big fan of those but my husband liked it. We got corn and potatoes in the bag. Oh my goodness that was so good! Next time we will do that instead of getting a bunch of appetizers. You definitely want to do the thing they are known for. Just skip the appetizers there's plenty of food in those bags. I didn't want to mess with peeling my shrimp. But friend said it wasn't that bad. I've tried the location in Castleton and it was good. This place was just as great and half the drive distance as well. The food was ordered for carryout and it was on time and delicious lots of shrimp and crayfish also crab and lobster. Got the all juicy all the above option with extra sauce. Also ordered some hush puppies everything was hot fresh and juicy as described I will definitely be back again. I prefer to take it home To go so I can relax and enjoy and not worry about having the tools to open or if they are which is always being able to flag down staff lol. If so I'd eat in but I'm happy to eat at home since the food is done so fresh and packed so well it is literally like it came to your table as well. I always go for the green mussels, shrimp, with heads on, and snow crab legs in the juicy seafood sauce mix. Today I got black mussels, shrimp, and a snow crab cluster with Cajun & garlic butter seasoning. It was delicious and very filling! They gave me a scissor multitool, gloves, a wet napkin, a bib, and a bucket for all the shells/garbage which all came in handy (the bib was much needed despite how ridiculous I felt putting it on at first lol). Tried Juicy Seafood for the first time tonight. I wasn't that hungry, so my husband and I split a meal. We got the red bomb special with crawfish added. The food was really good. The crab legs were very big and full of crab meat unlike some other places. The lobster tail had tons of meat too. The reason I am giving only 4 stars is because I had to ask three times for a crab leg cracker. I was told they're "hard to come by" at first and was only given the little plastic tool. I asked how I was supposed to crack the hard crab claws and she just said "I don't know." Finally after asking two more times she was able to rustle up one from somewhere. For $45/person and with it being a seafood place, you'd think they'd have more crab leg crackers available. read more

We visited here the other evening for a group birthday dinner. We had a reservation so we were seated right away by a kind host. Our server was awesome-super friendly and responsive. I ordered some appetizers for the table including fried calamari and hush puppies. The apps were served super fast and were tasty. For my entree I ordered the 2 clusters of snow crabs which came with a side of small corn cob and roasted potatoes. Since the meal is messy you do get a bib, gloves, scissors and hand wipes. The outside of the building doesn't have much personality but the inside is packed with sea decor. My husband made a reservation for our party of 8 and we were seated right away. Our server, Brooke, was with us right away and killed it getting drinks and appetizers to us quickly. I ordered the two crab legs that come with potato and corn piece. I got it in the garlic butter sauce and no spice. The food is very filling and tasty. They give you bibs, gloves, wet napkins, paper towel, scissors and forks. It's seafood so it's a bit higher in price but so worth it to me. Messy but soooooo delicious. It's not the management it's the store owner that is unfair to workers. Will fire most men out of spite because "a host job is a woman's job." They reuse seafood and tell you, you're not supposed to leave them bad reviews for up to two months. Also they do not do you taxes correctly, checks consistently messed up. Waitresses and cooks are amazing and always willing to help. But prices are unfair for what you get. And a great example an order sat out all night and was more than likely reused the next morning. read more

Great seafood selection with lots of flavor options. I don't eat seafood (the husband loves it) so I had the wings. They were perfect. My husband had oysters, clams, mussels, and lobster and said it was everything he'd hoped it would be. It was great that they gave us our own little trash can, bibs, gloves, and wet wipes.
