I've been here a couple of times now for lunch. It's pretty good! Both times I've visited, they were busy. But it didn't take too long to order and get my food. I've managed to find a seat each time I've been there too. The first time I went, they were out of the chicken salad I wanted. That's okay, I tried the classic cranberry version and it was pretty tasty! But they were also out of actual lettuce salad. And as someone who is gluten free, that meant I could only get scoops of chicken salad to eat and a fruit cup that was almost entirely grapes. There weren't any other options for me. It wasn't very filling, not enough for a full meal anyway. Second time I went they had the savory chicken salad type I wanted to try and actual salad. I had the lemon basil and it was pretty good. Very strong basil taste! But the savory was a nice change from sweet chicken salad I've had more often. The greens salads are a bit lackluster, but I was glad for the lettuce to give me something to have alongside the chicken salad itself. The salad dressing is pretty good! I have been three times to this South Indy location, and each time ordered something different. The first time I visited was in the summer and they had an AMAZING watermelon tea! I can't wait for that to come back! Although their entire menu is chicken salad (and an egg salad), they have many options to choose from. They have sweet, savory, spicy and fruit/nut options of chicken salad. Each chicken salad is named after a female relative of the owner. At the front of the store, when you walk in is a photo of each member holding a sign of the name of the chicken salad they were named after. There are options to just get a scoop of chicken salad (which comes with club crackers), or you can have it on a sandwich. There is also soups, salads and sides. Place an order the day before because it was a large order and I was picking up lunch for several people. It was not ready when I got there and then I was told that it had been canceled in the manager would come out then the manager came out and said oh no, it wasn't. They were going to put it together now. So I decided to order a sandwich and just an extra scoop of chicken salad for my lunch today while I was driving with other people to the lunch. I came in with my husband for dinner around 7:05. I had been wanting him to try Chicken Salad Chick for a while, and he finally agreed. We both ordered the Sassy Scotty Melt with sides, and our receipt was time-stamped 7:09. After getting our drinks and number, we sat down and waited. We watched the staff walking around cleaning and filling online orders while glancing in our direction several times. Since it was my first visit, I wasn't sure how long food usually takes, but the minutes just kept ticking by. After 38 minutes, my husband went up to ask about our food. The cashier looked surprised we hadn't received anything. She jokingly scolded the kitchen staff, and then about five minutes later came over to tell us they were actually out of what we ordered. My mom has been raving about chicken salad chick since it opened so she took me there for lunch today. We decided to go through the drive thru. The line was longish but it moved pretty fast. I decided to get the dill-icious diva scoop on a croissant. It had dill and cucumber featured in it- lettuce and tomato are optional. I decided to get the broccoli salad side which was tasty and a nice side option. They also give you a pickle and a cookie. Everything had great flavor. I brought the sandwich back to the restaurant and they gave me a refund and were very nice about it, but no one knew what the substance was.
