When she left Anastasia I followed her because she knows about brows. She shapes the eyebrows based on a person's face shape. The arches aren't too round or too sharp. They look natural. She shades the eyebrows to match the hair color. When she began microblading, I scheduled an appointment because 1)She 's awesome. I've been growing my brows out for some time now and finally decided to get them professionally shaped since I have a photo shoot coming up. I made an appointment via Yelp / Vagaro about a day out, which was convenient to book--my appt time was 11:30am. I found a small parking lot in the back with reserved spaces for the salon. As I was exiting my car, some young man walked towards me and suspiciously kept trying to get my attention and shouted "Hiiii" at me. This kind of put me on edge, as I wasn't familiar with the space and couldn't tell if it was some random guy on the street hollering at me or a potential worker? I ignored him and entered through the back door to a salon... Since it was my first time arriving at the space, and not knowing the layout, I arrived 15 minutes early. In my experience, this is actually quite customary in the beauty industry, and a courtesy both to the business owner and for yourself to have some buffer time, so as not to rush. That being said, to my surprise, she wasn't even there yet, and I had to ask one of the salon workers if I was in the right spot (I quickly realized that this is a shared salon space). After waiting about 17 minutes, I pulled up my e-mail confirmation and tried giving Yazmine a call and finally got through to her. She said she was 5 minutes away, but I didn't end up being greeted/taken in until another 15 minutes after my appointment time (so in total I was waiting for 32 minutes at that point). Had to deduct a star for this experience. However, once we started the brow shaping service, I did feel very comfortable and welcomed by her. She was apologetic about her late arrival, and again after seeing her work and thorough knowledge on brows, I ended up being quite pleased with the service. Her pricing is also very reasonable. About halfway through my service, I heard the next customer arrive. Obviously she was waiting for me to be finished so she could be worked on, too. So just a note for future customers (especially those who are prompt): maybe this was a one day fluke, but otherwise it looks like you might need to expect to wait, even with a booked appointment! Overall, I will likely be back for brow work and possibly some other services. Yazmine is a very sweet person and does good work so I give her a solid 4 stars. read more
