Hood…read more As we had already had brunch a few hours earlier, we weren't exactly hungry, but wanted some beers. Mt. Hood Brewing looked promising, so we decided to stop by. It was also in the middle of a heat wave in OR, so we asked to sit outside. After my husband snagged our table, I brought our well-trained and well-behaved Siberian with us to the patio. There was another poorly-behaved dog, but my dog could not have cared any less, and it was far enough away that it didn't bother me too much either. The outdoor seating was minimal and basic, but did the job. Thankfully there was shade from the umbrellas. I put my dog in his "tuck" command under me as he is trained to do at restaurants, and proceeded to look at the menu. To be honest, the food looked pretty good, and also smelled pretty good, as I watched other patrons get their meals. However, we were still pretty stuffed, so we settled with a beer flight. The beers were out to our table pretty quickly, but after trying them, my husband and I came to the consensus that we expected more from the only brewing company in town. As another Yelper put it, the beers fell flat for us too. I was hoping there would be more/different notes to each beer, which is the whole point of sampling multiple, but they all seemed quite monotone. It started getting pretty warm underneath our umbrella, so we quickly wrapped up our beer flight and left. The view was gorgeous, and the location splendid (hence the 4 stars), and perhaps next time I'd be down to try one of their dishes, specifically the elkburger, but I was a little disappointed in the beer. I've been to plenty of breweries to enjoy beers there and also bought craft beers/growlers for home, so I'd like to say I'm decently versed in beer, but this missed the mark.

We were quickly seated which is great with a party of 13. My husband and i shared the french dip and onion rings which were both SO good!! The onion ring order was so large we ended up sharing with everyone in our group. Our waiter was great and made sure that we all had what we needed. My only suggestion is to let a large group know ahead of time that a 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill.

We visited on Thanksgiving Day, and this was one of the few places open in the area. We played it safe and ordered a cheeseburger, chicken tenders, and fries, and we were also told the chili was a specialty. Everything turned out to be quite tasty. The fries and the burger were especially good. I'd definitely recommend trying any of these items! Customer Service 3/5 We accidentally entered through the bar area, and since we're not from the area, we stood there for a moment trying to figure out where to order. No staff greeted or directed us, so we were a bit confused. After walking around, I eventually found the dining area, and once we were seated, our waiter was friendly. Ambience 3/5 The restaurant has a charming small-town vibe. It's a very cool little spot, nothing fancy, but cozy, and they have a bar area which is cool. The window views were also really nice ! Cleanliness 4/5 There was a slight funny smell when we walked in, but the restaurant itself didn't look unclean, we had no issues. Wait Time 5/5 The wait time wasn't too long, though it also wasn't a particularly busy day. Cost 4/5 Some prices felt a bit high for the type of spot, but overall it wasn't unreasonable.

I appreciated that we were able to switch tables (originally we were seated farther away but asked to move closer to the window). Our servers were moderately friendly. The real star of the show were the meatballs and Marionberry grilled cheese. They were so tasty! My friend described the meal as "indulgent" and a "delicacy". The interior decoration of the restaurant was obviously cabin-themed since it's inside a ski resort. I'd be curious to see if it was more festive around Christmas time.

I had the berry and brie grilled cheese with potato chips, daughter had the picante macaroni and cheese. She really enjoyed her dish and everyone at the table really liked how fresh the potato chips were - they must be made at the restaurant. My berry and brie grilled cheese had really good bread, very filling as well. It's located on the third floor so there are some nice views from the windows outside. Even though we ordered an appetizer, everything was still all brought out at the same time. Staff was friendly, so overall a good experience.

My fiance planned a wonderful mountain getaway for us, and lucky for me- we had dinner reservations here. It was so chilly in December, We had a cold mountain day, and we bundled up to go to our dinner reservations and I have to say- I wasn't expecting much when I heard the name "Grill". I was thinking- burgers, fries, your typical post-ski grub. I was wrooong! We strolled into the coziest little restaurant and were greeted by the two lovely people working there. Felt like I very sweet family vibe. They steered us in the directions of the pasta dishes we ordered, and we had the Soup of the Day to start- I believe it was some kind of Tomato bisque and that hit the spot. The Hazelnut pasta was a hit for my fiance, and I loved that he got to try such a classic Oregon flavor in a pasta- how fun. My chanterelle ravioli filled me up so fast, I also loved being able to try chanterelles in this format. Both dishes felt very creative and full of so much Oregon pride! Delicious!

I just had the best fried chicken sandwich of my life here--perfectly crispy and flavorful. Their burgers and fries are also top-tier and always hit the spot. The drinks are just as impressive; unlike most places, they make handmade margaritas using fresh lemon, lime, triple sec, and tequila (of course) You can really taste the quality! They also have a fantastic selection of local beer on tap. It's the perfect atmosphere to catch a game. With a giant projection screen and plenty of TVs, there truly isn't a bad seat in the house. Plus, they have a pool table, ping pong, and old-school pinball along with other games. We've also heard they serve an excellent breakfast with homemade biscuits and gravy and breakfast sandwiches--we haven't tried it yet, but we can't wait to come back for it! Whether you're a mountain local or just passing through on your way to or from Mt. Hood, this place hits it out of the park every time.

Fun friendly crowd too - I was rooting against the Seahawks and nobody was bothered. Giant screen for sports, several free games (which is great for the kids). Also a lot of pinball and a few arcade titles. Counter ordering for drinks and food. They run with a light crew so there is usually a line and a wait for your food - it's worth it. And there's plenty of entertainment in there to pass the time. Burgers are phenomenal.
