Teriyaki Beef Tips- On a Bed of Crispy Noodles
    Jason C.

Went to the Centerton Inn last night in Elmer for my birthday, it was great! There were 5 of us. We ordered the following: Bangin' Shrimp- Flash Fried and Tossed in a Sweet Chili Mayo; Teriyaki Beef Tips- On a Bed of Crispy Noodles for apps. For mains we had Steak Fromage- Grilled NY Strip Topped with a Blue Cheese; Centerton Potato (twice stuffed); a special pepper steak with mash potatoes; and Warm Chocolate Walnut Bread Pudding. Loved the meat and bean soup! It was full of meat, I really got full on that alone. Everything was amazing! Can't wait to go back!

Not fine dining per se but an exceptionally fine experience that makes the hike to Salem County…read moreentirely worth the petrol. A cozy, picturesque location offers a "greatest hits" liquor-first menu of burgers, steaks, chops with Asian-fusion afterburners. Certainly not what I was expecting but I really liked the mash-up. In an age of overly weened, focus group inspired restaurant concepts, there's always a place for a true original. Five easy stars for the Lake House.

The view and atmosphere and 5/5, absolutely beautiful…read more The people who gave this anything over a 2/5 have no conception of what good food is supposed to be: so please be mindful of reading 5/5 reviews as their drone/bot/npc opinion means nothing to those who have that appreciation and understanding of what good food is supposed to be. If you're someone looking for an elevated dining experience, namely entrees and appetizers that don't taste like bland sysco/big distributor bundles, this is not the place for you. If they are not using big distributors, then they have bigger issues to worry about because the food is honestly not good and overpriced; one shouldn't pay that much money for inferior food. The "brown butter" gnocchi dish was a 4/10 and seemed out of place with the other items on the confusing menu (no real theme or pattern to the food offered). The service was horrendous too, in case you were wondering. To the owner or managers who should have/should be doing this: go sit at every table and order food if the menu; notice the little problems at each: the chairs being too narrow on the patio (i'm not even a chud so idk how heavier folks manage this), the tables being not level, the soggy Caesar salads and appetizers falling off the cheap plates that are too small/the wrong shape for the food item....get a notepad and write down the issues. Little things like this influence your guests stay and experience and it is not difficult to fix them. There is such potential at this place and the owners need to get better, elevated, and high quality items on the menu with real chefs to see it through. I would not recommend this place to anyone, but if you're a bot you'll love it.

We were a little confused when we saw it was a golf club but it's open to the public. The food is awesome. We got a few appetizers. Truffle fries. Battered zucchini flowers which I had never had before. Those were so good. If you get a side salad with a sandwich instead of fries it's still a large helping. Most times when you sub out you get a weak salad. My friend got the sugar bacon burger which he said was awesome. That's kinda what I wanted but then I panic picked the blackened tuna sandwich. Which was delicious so I'm not upset. Wife got a taco salad that came in a large corn chip bowl. Tons of chicken on it. Very large portions. Got there around 4 and had the place to ourselves just about for a while. Very friendly staff.

We were waited on right away by the sweetest lady that was also controlling the bar area. Plenty of room for functions which they have regularly during the week. The food was top notch so delicious. My fiancés chicken sandwich with spinach dip on it has to be a must do for any other restaurant. The 2 went so well with each other on a soft roll & cheese. Perfection

After a recent business meeting in the Wildwoods I decided to see why this isolate diner is so busy (And, ask a local how to pronounce Maurice it definitely does not match the name you might be familiar with.). This modern diner shines inside and out but what really matters is the warm welcome, excellent service and awesome diner food. Yes, there is the classic overwhelming menu but I decided to go with the Italian Trio Special, which came with soup and dessert in addition to chicken parm, a meatball and lasagna (Complete you know.). I asked my friendly waitress about the Navy Bean Soup and she admitted to having tried it but she said it was popular. The "cup" of soup comes in a large bowl chock full of ingredients with a taste that rivals any diner's bean soup that I have ever had. I could eat this soup almost every day (No one eats Navy Bean soup every day.). The corn bread square and roll were fresh and yummy! My trio presented me with three options as to where to begin and I am glad that the chicken parm was facing me because it was perfect! The chicken moist under crisp breading with just the right amount of melted cheese and a sauce/gravy that was rich in tomato flavor. The large meatball matched the chicken parm in flavor and its as large and made me happy. The lasagna was so-so because the noodles were very soft and almost melted in my mouth whereas I prefer a chewier pasta. It's meat also did not reach the heights of the parm and meatball so I would call it average. Thankfully I ate the parm first but I would not hesitate to order the Trio again. I had no room for dessert but my delightful waitress said, "I'll wrap up a rice pudding for you to take home." Boy, am I glad she did. It was a large serving that had to wait to the next day but it was really good rice pudding. So, if you are traveling down Route 55 or up Route 55 and your car takes you onto Route 47 in Port Elizabeth be sure to travel hungry because you definitely should stop at the Maurice River Diner!!

The ambience is really nice but has a lot of different things to look at inside. It's very cute and very tidy and even the restrooms are really cute and very clean. I met with a couple girlfriends and we split a couple dishes. We started with the matzoh ball soup and the crab bisque, which were both delicious and very flavorful , next..... we ordered the turkey burger, which was delicious and we got a side of mixed fruit, which was great and another dish we ordered was the blueberry pulled pork, which was delicious, and they can also do it gluten-free. We did order a side of french fries that was a huge portion and they looked like fresh cut and the skin was on the fries and everything was full of flavor and very fresh. We all agree that we can't wait to return and try more things on the menu. A lot of their dishes they can do dairy free or gluten-free. It was really great to have these options in place everything was very flavorful. The service was excellent and it seemed like they had a couple people that were training and shadowing other servers, but everyone was really chipper and really sweet. It is a hidden gem and the parking lot was really awesome so that we could park securely, but the town looks very walkable and really neat. I would definitely love to come back when I have more time. Since retired but came here today to see my friend/old customer. Got here at 12pm. Seated quickly in the back (place was very dark). Waitress came by for our soft drinks. I order an ice tea. She came back as the tea had to be brewed - now its noon time and tea for ice tea isnt brewed which took 10/15 mins (first strike). Placed our order - i ordered 5 wings and the roasted veggie grinder. Lunch partner ordered a French dip. Wings came out timely and were good. It took the French dip and roasted veggie grinder 30 mins to come out and the order was wrong - it wasnt a French dip, my sandwich was not toasted, nor did it have the aioli on it either (2nd strike); both went back - server apologized and said remake would come out quickly. There was a table of 3 ladies other side of us and their order came out three times to complete - it came out piecemeal but i digress. Server was clearly embarrassed since she stayed away. I saw her and asked when out food was coming - 1255pm the remake came out. The French dip was supposed to be on a seeded roll which it was not, and my roasted veggie sandwich was a mushy mess of what they called roasted veggies still on a soft ciabatta roll that was not toasted as a grinder should be and the veggies were over salted. (3rd strike) The server offered to have the manager come by but I declined as he/she would not have been happy by the time I was done with him or her. After being closed for a few years was excited to come back. Needless to say wont be going back. It should not take 30 mins for sandwiches to come out, then be a wrong order or not as advertised, then have to wait another 20 minutes for the remake and still be wrong. my sandwich was comped which was kind of the server.
