Don't take your clock to be repaired unless you don't mind waiting over 2 months to find out they haven't even started to repair it yet. Also don't expect anyone to return a voicemail left to get the status of the repair. I had to physically go in the shop and was treated like I had committed a crime when I asked for an update. The rudeness of the woman behind the counter was unreal and she became defensive the second I requested a repair status. I requested to get my clock back and she refused to look for it because she was too busy and said I would have to wait. I told her I was prepared to do so and that I had already waited two months, not to mention the 30 minutes in the lobby to be waited on. Have used Ye Olde Clock Shop for maintenance of our grandfather clock so decided to give them a shot at my self winding 40 year old Hamilton watch (clean, lube, replace the crystal). Paid $175 and got it back looking better and running but hands fell off after a day and crown was loose. Watch was now losing 2 min a week. Told by owner that the watches were just not that accurate. A few days later, noticed condensation under crystal ( first time in 40 years). Took it back again, told they did nothing wrong. Then told that repair guy wasn't feeling well. Finally given some rambling text off the internet claiming this is normal. Note watch is water resistant. Bottom line - wasted money, failure to stand behind work and apparent incompetence. We had a grandfather clock cleaned and repaired years ago by Ye Olde clock, it was not right and did not chime as it did prior to cleaning. We contacted the shop and was told that was sent to a sub-contract person and we would have to call him directly, we just gave up. Now years later we found the shop was under new management and we made arrangements to have someone come to our house and redo the clock again. Well it has now been about 6 mo's and still no show. You have to give one star-should get zero stars! Had clock in for repair for almost one year; been in numerous times, left phone messages and written messages-never heard from them. Went in a month ago (beginning of October) and was told that someone had thrown out some of the parts(!!!??!! really?) and that they had found replacement parts on Ebay and that the clock would ready next week. My wife just picked up a wall clock she had converted from mechanical to electric because it was not a valuable clock and we'd had it many years and had liked the looks of it. She went to pick it up after a phone call saying it was ready. It wasn't-no way to change the baterries. They said they'd put an access door in the back so we left it. she picked it up two days later-worst craftsmanship I've seen. Silicone gooped in it to hold the movement, wires and electric chime exposed to see thru the door and looked like a chainsaw was used to make the access door. While it's true that they remove links from a Rolex efficiently, the above comments about Rolex repair need a cautionary note. They repaired mine and came within a whisker of ruining it, by re-inserting a stem that was almost stripped. (This should have been noticed, according to a subsequent jeweler to whom I took the watch when it Filled With Water during a swim that took place within but days of their "service.") The owner's reaction when questioned about the shoddy repair was that I must have wound it incorrectly. That's their version of standing behind the work. So I had to pay another $500 to get it fixed properly, elsewhere. Your Rolex repair should be done at a reputable jeweler by a certified repairman and never entrusted to this lot. read more

This is more like "Ye Olde CROCK Shoppe! Went to get my watch that required their "expert" repair guy do the battery replacement. Was told their watchmaker wouldn't or couldn't do the replacement because it was too involved. I could have been told that when I brought it in but they jacked around for 10 days or so and then informed me of how "professional" they are. Also, kind of typical for a Tucson business...their sign say open at 10am and was told the worker would be late. At 10:17, he strolled up to the front door, no "Sorry, I was late." or acknowledgement of late opening. Again a very 'Professional" business. Such an eclectic gem! Honestly, I have to say I love the sign in the shop reading, "Your husband called and said spend as much as you want!" LoL... Great Place to keep time indeed and they have a BUNCH of watches and some decent jewelry too. They only charged us $10 to remove links from a watch. And let me tell you, today they had people coming and going for such a tiny shop! I personally wish the gentleman would have been a little more personable to us hence the 3 star...and the watches and display cases could stand some sort of displays...to showcase them. The staff was friendly and attentive. I went in to get a watch with metal links fitted; they were quick and got the fit right the first time. The man who helped me was very polite and gave me a guarantee for free re-fits on that watch for life with a receipt (for only $10 altogether). Terrible customer service. Horribly rude and do not return calls. They only make excuses. Was told 3-4 months to repair my clock. I called to check at 6 months and told to wait one more month. I called then at 9 months and told the same. After a year, I went to pick up the unrepaired clock. Owner refused to give it to me, stating it was "on the bench" and "next in line." I asked for a phone update in a week, which never happened. Went back a week later to simply pick up the clock. Again, the owner refused to give it to me, stating "I will not give it to you in pieces." I stated that I just wanted my clock back and asked if I needed to call the police in order to recover my property. The owner became hostile and defensive, stating I would get the pieces in a bag. 40 minutes later my broken clock was handed back to me, with no apology and no attempt at service recovery. read more

This shop has been so helpful the two times I've needed to have work done on our arty wall clock. The proprietor recommended more artistic hour, minute and second hands that have increased our enjoyment of the clock, and we've received numerous comments about how cool it is. Most recently I arrived just as they were closing, and was still able to get the clock quickly repaired as we spoke. Very pleasant environment. read more

Left my Swiss diving watch to replace the battery. Picked it up and wore a few days and noticed it had stopped again. Upon closer inspection, I saw that the gasket to the back was partially sticking out and not sealing the case rendering it vulnerable to the elements. I took it back where they determined it was ruined due to water intake. They made NO reparations for their mistake and subsequent ruin of my watch (not even a refund) and enforced their "no fault" policy. Do not trust these people. The address seemed a bit tricky to find, but I am glad a friend recommended it. They looked at a broken clock, gave a quick estimate and some options, and had it ready for pick up two days later. I dropped off an anniversary clock another shop wouldn't touch, and they had it running almost immediately. I quickly got good information, some education, clocks ready to keep ME running at the pace I need to (on time!!!) and all at a decent price. I took in a wrist watch that I really loved. The crystal was cracked and it needed a battery. I needed to find out if it worked before replacing the crystal--DUH!! Someone called not longer after I dropped it off. They explained the crystal would be a custom job and cost around $60. I said fine, but is the watch working?? They didn't know; indicated they'd check with the watch repair person. Well, life gets busy, and six or eight weeks go by!! I call. I ask about the watch and am told I was given the price for the crystal and notation on their paperwork indicated I was 'thinking about' the cost of the crystal....NO!!! I was waiting for a PROFFESSIONAL WATCH REPAIR to tell me if the watch was running with it's new battery. Making the $60 crystal worthwhile. I NEVER GOT A DEFINITIVE ANSWER FROM ANYONE IN THAT REPAIR STORE. I paid $60 for a crystal on a watch that does not run. Weeks later, I went back. They remembered the watch---! I asked why the watch didn't run---then, imagine my surprise...I got an explanation---about how the inside of this watch works--or in this case didn't work!! WOW! I couldn't get this info BEFORE I SPENT $60??? STAY AWAY. read more
