    Bacon Garlic Brussel sprouts

If you drive too fast down the road you'll miss this absolute hidden gem of a place in Troutdale, OR. You walk in and the vibes are very east coast cheers bar vibes but brighter. The server we got was absolutely amazing and completely made our meal. He was on top of everything at all times, joked with us the whole time, and was even able to make our thirteen year old laugh multiple times (quite a feat). The beers were good just wished for a few more options, the food was the star outside of the service. Very surprising quality for a tiny little pub. The Brussels were perfectly cooked and seasoned so well. The nachos were delicious and gave me my first ever try of corned beef on nachos- AMAZING. The kiddo liked his burger but complained it was a tad overcooked. My grilled buffalo chicken sandwich was excellent on flavor and very moist. Would 100/10 recommend just for the server alone. More beer options and a yummier kiddo meal would make this a 5 star place but it's as close as you could get!

Chicken ceasar chicken cooked perfectly. Shout out to the chef.

Nice little spot although the carpet needs a little tlc as it's torn and looking very worn. I had a dinner sized chicken ceasar which was good. They have soups salads sandwiches and burgers along with a special. On a Sunday afternoon there is one person playing hostess, server and bartender. She managed it all like a pro. Her communication skills are truly next level. Yes I was listening. She'd bring menus to a table after seating them and let them know what her next steps were before she returned to that table. Don't ever let her go. My only regret is not getting her name so I can give her a proper shout out in this review. For that I apologize.

    Fish & Chips (it's cod)

Ye Olde Pub was a winner for us! It was cold and windy late in the afternoon when we were on our way home from a Christmas tree farm. They welcomed us in and we were delighted with their delicious food. I'm a fish & chips girl, always in search of the best. This pub hit the spot! They make their own beer batter, which perfectly enrobes the mild cod. The pieces were huge! The fries were excellent. Normally fish & chips in this county come with a little cup of coleslaw. It helps me feel like I ate something nutritious along with my fried food! But Ye Olde Pub makes you choose between sides and it doesn't automatically come with their fish & chips. I liked their tartar sauce though. It was creamy and had a hint of sweetness, just how I like it. I guess I'll overlook the absence of coleslaw in my basket. My husband ordered their Reuben sandwich. He thought it was great. He got coleslaw but that counted as his side. I shared some of my fries with him. Rethink the coleslaw, Ye Olde Pub. Who cares if you don't get it at ye old pubs in England. In the USA we kinda expect it. Thanks! I'd dock you a star if the fish hadn't been so amazing!

Pub dip with coleslaw and winders

Stop back in today for more of those potato winders. They are delicious! For my meal, I had a pub dip. It was like a French dip with white cheese and jalapeños. The flavor was awesome. I do, however recommend using your knife and fork as the cheese makes it fall apart super easy and then after you dip it, there's no chance of hanging onto it anymore. The flavor is good though I also had the coleslaw which taste good and of course the Arnold Palmer to wash it down. The staff again on this visit were completely awesome. So friendly and inviting. I can't wait for my next trip.

    English Reuben and Brussels Sprouts!

So, ahem...we were just about to give up on dining out when I read all the Yelp reviews and decided to give this place a try. We finally went today and I must say BRAVO!!!! FINALLY, a restaurant/pub worth yelping about. We entered a warm and welcoming atmosphere . The server ( and I wish I knew his name) was the friendliest person I ever met. The menu was great. We ordered a split plate of the English Reuben with mesquite fries, and an order of Brussels. OMG.... The Reuben was one of the best we have ever eaten. The meat was so amazing... tender, juicy and tons of flavor! The fries were amazing (crispy and so good) The Brussels were the BEST I have ever eaten! The perfection on the cook on these was 5 Star! I have literally never had better ( even my own)! Run, don't walk. You won't be disappointed.

I don't get to stop as much as I would like. The food is always good. Staff is fun and friendly. Menu has been reduced since I was last here. Not a bad thing. Smaller menu usually means what is there is really good.

Steak bites w/creamy horseradish sauce. SO GOOD.

Everything from the towel size to the clear bag listed online made getting through security easy and helped us get a prime spot. The concert itself was great. Lighting, sound and the vibe of everything was fantastic. We were disappointed with the vegetarian options available for purchase inside the concert venue. An overpriced baked potato and a store brand veggie burger felt subpar compared to other food options. Unfortunately, we could not bring food from all of the pubs and bars into the concert venue so it made it a little difficult. You really have to enter 2 hours before the concert to get a good spot, meaning you are there during dinner. That being said, the concert was great. The location is fun to walk around and includes a golf course, outdoor dining, and lots of little pubs and secret spots. The food is typical for McMenamins and the art both inside and outside makes it a unique Portland experience. My favorite part of all McMenamins sites is the history for the location. The local historical society was selling a book for $5 that told the history of the site, including its days as a poor house, a jail, and lots of other stories of the past. I would love to go on a historical tour, but for now to stroll the book and walk around the property was a treat. The lines were long because of the concert to get drinks everywhere so we opted for cold brew coffee on nitro at the little coffee cart inside the main lodge. We sipped our coffee and walked around and it was lovely. By

Very good, but it was $16.25 for a 9oz pour...it should be good. The small Caesar with Grilled Chicken was ok. But again, $16.00 is too expensive. I did look further and saw that the Cheeseburger, with Fries and a Pickle Spear is $25.00. No way. My server was Adam. I hope this is a short term gig for him as he was non-existent...which is what I expected. His lack of attentiveness to me was horrendous. I will not return to any McMenamins, as I stated at the beginning, service is slow, food is okay and it has become too expensive.

I didn't have time to scout out the rest of the grounds much and wasn't planning to anyway as when this would take place was when Steve would have been able to accompany me. The inside of the shed is cute as well. It's pretty much just this bar but there is a small section of seating but not much. It could potentially fill up fast. Once it was my turn in line I got the cocktail drink special for the night which was very good and refreshing. I went back for another later in the show and there was no line to deal with. Woo Hoo!
