This place came recommended to us by Mark Pearce from the Mt Defiance winery. We walked directly across the street from the gallery and there was a cute little pub. It was slow that day, of course, it was after the lunch rush. We had a burger and some fries and they were most tasty. They had a nice area out back where you can eat as well. The waiter said that the Reuben was the best. I can't really say much since I don't have much experience with reuben sandwiches, but there was nothing wrong with it other than not really being full afterwards. The cobb salad was great value. It came with all the different parts of the salad in the right proportions. It never felt like there was too much of any one thing in the salad. Service was great. The waiter was very friendly and had lots of suggestions for us. I wish our water glasses were filled more often, but it might've been only because we were sitting in a corner. So glad we randomly found this spot today. Food was very good and there are many things on the menu I would still like to come back to try like the fondue. We ordered the bleu cheese bacon burger with onion rings, pino burger with the most amazing seasoned fries, and a patty melt with fries. We also had different dipping sauces for our fries. Brought my out of town friend and we both LOVED this place! Highly recommend it! Their food was amazing! We got the rueben sandwich and the chicken fried steak special. We weren't sure where to sit, so I checked out the empty patio while my mother washed her hands. Came in on a cool summer Sunday afternoon. Nice peaceful atmosphere. Even with a bit of a lunch rush all the staff was still really attentive and kind. I didn't have a huge appetite and even though I've heard good things of the shepherds pie, burgers, & Mac, I tried the appetizers. Ordered the steak bites (Med) and The Hot Artichoke Jalapeno Dip . The Steak Bites were made to order, juicy, didn't need dipping sauce even and a good size portion. The Spicy Artichoke Jalapeno Dip was just the right mix of spicy bite and cheesy Artichoke hearts. Def loaded and shareable! Even with a little bit of wait on the food, Tara, the super sweet server was fast, efficient, & made great recommendations. Def will be coming back. Went here for a drink and to try a dish since it looked good. Upon arrival, had to wait a few minutes for a table outside which was not a problem. Waitress immediately informed us about the Mother's Day special and took our drink order. They gave us a few minutes to decide what we wanted to order. We went with the fish amd chips. We waited over 30 minutes before a waitress came by to check on us. By then we were almost done with our drink and I made a comment to see if they went to catch the fish themselves and it was going to be fresh. The waitress smiled and said let me go check on it. By then we decided to just pay for the drink and leave. Upon entering and asking for our bill, she informed us that there was an issue with the system. I have worked in the restaurant industry before and customer service is everything. I feel the could have do e a better job in the service and kept us updated instead of waiting that long to even get checked on and informed of the issue. We have been here a few times as we live close by. The staff is excellent as well as the craft cocktails and beer selection. Their wine menu needs improvement. Now onto the menu. The fish-n-chips have so much potential but the few times I've ordered them they were soaked in grease as well as their French fries. I was hoping the quality control would have been better. The Buffalo wrap was disappointing as it was overly salty. I suggest asking for the sauce on the side. I have had their Cobb salad which was very good. read more

The food was amazing. Had the nachos and the "ye old philly". The nachos, hand down, amazing. Covered in beer cheese with pepper Cheaneys fresh tomatoes olives and a smoky chicken with red onion. Best nachos I have had in a long time. The chili was also pretty damn good fresh roast beef bell peppers onions and a fantastic au jus dip! My drink of choice was The bloody Mary. Sad that we live down the street and can't bring ourselves to come here ever again. My in-laws were visiting and went here four times within 10 days and raved about it. We were excited. Here's all that went wrong on our first visit: -Blazing hot inside. Way hotter inside than outside, and the only fan against an open window was pointed at the staff. Everyone was uncomfortable. Maybe invest in a $100 window AC...? Something? -Took at least 10 minutes to be acknowledged for drinks. Then another 10 to receive them. -We ordered two items (the two items we were most excited about) that never came. They were our appetizers. We had nothing to tide us over while we remained hungry, hot and miserable. - It took well over an hour to get: The steak bites (undercooked, as well). The boring spinach salad swimming in dressing. Three orders of sad fish & chips. -My husband told the two females four separate times that he wanted the IPA on special. The third time, she said, "Oh, I thought she was getting your drink." After the fourth time, we gave up. My dad ordered a second drink and it never came either. - After starving for a while, we found that our fish were three tiny, soggy-on-the-bottom pieces of cod. While the fries/chips were good, they were scarce, as well. A small handful. Despite the lackluster service and long wait for everything, the employees were having stupid conversations with incoming patrons. We waited forever (a theme here) for the check, so my dad went to the bar and got it. She then couldn't remember if she charged the card after we left the signed receipt. We were defeated, and left unsatisfied and still hungry. We left assuming there was one person in the kitchen. There were three. One was on his smoke break with the door open in the kitchen and the smoke was coming in. The other was moving rather slowly. Kraft mac & cheese is more satisfying. read more

Very friendly staff, really good food, nice beer selection (though mostly bottle), outside patio and kid-friendly! Hard to ask much more. They have the best steak bites I've ever had. I hardly ever order the, but had a huge craving and they did more than satisfy it, they also had homemade sinus-clearing horseradish sauce. The onion rings were flavorful and the coating stuck to the onions. However for $8 we got 7 onion rings. That seemed a bit too much. And they'll soon be charging for sauces, too (instead of the BBQ and ranch that currently come with it. So the food was good quality, but some things are overpriced (like the onion rings) and a small tap selection, that's why I dropped it by two stars. They have a decent selection of micros & domestics, and the wait staff were very polite and attentive, belying their young-hipster-dude looks. The food is outstanding. We went to Ye Olde Pub because it was too hot to cook dinner last night. The place was about half full when we got there at about 715. I don't think the place has air conditioning, as the doors and windows were open and it was really warm inside. We were promptly greeted when we walked in and told to sit where ever we wanted. The gal came over pretty quickly and took our drink orders. We had to find our own menus to check out the food choices. She came back with the drinks and said she would right back to take our food order. Right back= about 35 minutes. She made eye contact with me as she walked past and said 'did I ever take your food order?'. 'no'. 'oh! so sorry, i'll be right back'. And 5 minutes later she was! I ordered the fish and chips and my husband ordered the Western burger with a chicken breast instead of beef. The food came out about 45 minutes later.My fish and chips were about the size of silver dollars and looked overcooked (see photo). My husband wanted to send them back but at this point I was hot and hungry and ready to go, not wait another 45 minutes. The fish didn't taste as burned as it looked. My husband's chicken Western burger was good. The chicken was cooked on an actual grill; it tasted like BBQ. Side note, at the table behind us someone had ordered chicken on their burger instead of beef and it came out as beef. I feel sorry for their wait as it was replaced. I only left a $3.00 tip on a $24 dollar bill because the service was not good at all. There was no acknowledgement of how long we had to wait which makes me wonder if this is how they always roll? The gal was the only person taking care of the tables as well as running the bar. The was a guy there that was bussing the tables but that seemed to be all he did. We won't go back, which is a bummer because there are so few good choices to eat at in Troutdale. read more
