I particularly love that Eliot will give me updates about how Ramsey is doing in the playgroup, and also sends me pictures of Ramsey out at the park. I am a frequent visitor to the dog park in our neighborhood and see Eliot nearly every day. He possesses all of the attributes of a true Dog Whisperer. I have two Great Danes. One is very calm and gentle to everyone. The other is more high-spirited and there are a few dogs that she doesn't care for. Eliot has helped me out at least a dozen times gain control over my Dane when the park has gotten a bit intense. He uses a gentle but strong hand and always has the dog's best interest at heart. What's even more impressive is that Eliot's dogs adore him. He plays with them and runs around the park making sure that their time at the park is worthwhile. I don't YELP a lot, so when I do, its gonna be for a good reason...We used Eliot's services as a dog-walker for Koa for over eight months. The only reason we stopped using him, is because we moved out of San Francisco. It was a big decision for us to find a dog walker for Koa...a LOT of trust is involved as you are allowing this person to come into your home when you are not there and to also take care of your pet. I was interested in finding a dog walker who took dogs to the park and then started texting or talking on their cell-phones. I concur with one of the other reviewers who mentioned that Eliot not only takes his dog groups to the park, but he is fully engaged with the dogs, making sure they are playing and getting the activity and playtime they need. This is what we first noticed even before we started using Eliot. Eliot would play with Koa before we were even using his services. Just so you know how important Eliot and his relationship with Koa is to us - we recently took a trip back to SF for a visit. I wanted to have Eliot take Koa for a day - we made arrangements for a meet up and Koa spent the day with Eliot and came back to the hotel exhausted. It made us happy that they could get together for a day. Koa's reaction to Eliot was priceless after not seeing him for over 4 months... Bottom line: Koa loves Eliot. As a former client of Eliot's at YeeePaw!, I speak from experience: Eliot doesn't take his job, or your dog's safety, seriously. My property management recommended Eliot, and he interviews well. However, the problems started almost immediately. Issues: 1. He doesn't deliver on promises. a. Told me in June of last year he'd be hiring someone so my dog, Trooper, could be in an afternoon playgroup. I work late, so this is a big deal. Several months later, when I fired him (see below) this hadn't happened. b. Offers to run your dog to the groomer, and pass through the costs. I took advantage of this, because I have dust allergies and need my dog groomed semi-regularly. Each time I did, it took a week or more beyond when it was promised. 2. He took an exclusive engagement to transport a particular client's dog out of the country, and left my dog high and dry for two days with no substitute service. This sort of moonlighting is inexcusable when people are paying you to attend to their dogs' basic needs in their absence. 3. He left my dog, who'd had an upset stomach, in a kennel that was covered in poop. All he did was move the dog's dish, which itself was covered in poop, and put a new one in the kennel. He also didn't bother to explain the situation to me. I came home to a shaking, scared dog, who'd been sitting in filth all day (I actually had to give him a bath to clean him up). When I called and asked Eliot why he didn't let me know, he said he thought I'd KNOWN about the situation and left my dog that way! The following week, I took time off work, interviewed new walkers, and then I fired him at my earliest opportunity. My complex no longer recommends him, either, after a separate incident of him swearing and yelling at one of the staff members there. UPDATE: Eliot's response below is very detailed and I just wanted to take a moment to write my own. Trooper does indeed have some serious anxiety issues. He also has some significant food allergies. He's very much a special needs dog. Dog walkers are part of the care team for your dog, somewhat like a teacher is to a child. Eliot represented himself as being available over extended hours, and yes, I counted on this. I also paid a premium for this access in comparison to the walker I hired to replace him. Now, I have a great vet that I call for advice instead. 1a) When I signed, it was agreed that the morning spot would be temporary, until another walker was hired to open up more room in the afternoon. That hire never happened. 1b) I understand schedule limitations, but "I'll take him tomorrow" is a broken promise if I have to wait one to two weeks. I have to bathe the dog weekly, and didn't want to dry out his skin by bathing him multiple days in the same week. Had the plan been "I'll take him next week", I'd have been fine with it. 2) Contrary to his assertion here, Eliot DID NOT suggest a back-up provider to me when asked. My then-girlfriend came home from downtown on her lunch breaks (skipping lunch in the process) to take the dog outside. I understand taking time off for illnesses or vacations, but taking time off from your contracted business obligations for other business is simply not running your business in good faith. Even if he had backup service available, we were paying for Eliot, not his choice of backup while he made more money somewhere else. 3) About once a month, I'd have a meeting at 10am or before. I work in Silicon Valley, so that means leaving San Francisco before 9. This happened to be one of those days. Trooper had been kenneled that morning as he usually was when nobody was in the house -- house-training and chewing on things had been issues when he was unsupervised. Why ANYONE would assume that an owner who cares about his dog would leave him sitting in poop is beyond me. That's cruel, and I'd never done anything of the sort. 4) I advised the building management of my disposition of Eliot's services after he claims this other client signed on, so that may well have been true. However, I do know that my building's management indicated they'd stopped referring tenants to Eliot. read more

My boyfriend and I have a 2 year old lab-Irish wolfhound mix named Royce and have always struggled with him getting enough exercise during the day while we are at work. Once we started using Yeepaw! We noticed a HUGE difference in not only Royce being exhausted when we get home, but also his obedience, friendliness, and overall happiness. We used to feel bad leaving him at home during the day just for him to get a 30 minute walk....but now I know he gets exercise and the ability to go play with his dog friends each day for at least 2 hours in parks all over the city. Elliott & Yee Paw is Absolutely Wonderful!!! (PLEASE READ my entire review & really see what he did for someone in their time of need) He reached out to me, even though he didn't know me, nor having met me. I was in a v. dire situation. Only a few days ago, I was taken emergently by ambulance d/t accident causing an unstable lower leg fracture, w/subsequent complicated surg, rehab, etc, etc My baby (15yo dog) was taken to SF Shelter (aka ACC). Their rule is that personal pets can only stay for 14d, & if not gotten by that time, they keep it. & i won't go into the rest. Now, I am frantic. I am physically unable to get him, & will be this way for an indefinite period of time. I had been calling one dog walker after another, trying to get something set up. No one was able to do it. You can imagine my pain, trying to find someone while in a wheelchair, unable to get out of hosp, rehab, scared to death, if I was ever going to find someone before the 14d. By the time I get to Elliott on my list, I am an emotional mess. Frankly, I'm surprised that he could even understand what I was saying b/c I was crying so hard. He couldn't help me either b/c he was so overbooked. But do you know what he said to me. "DON'T WORRY! I WILL GET YOUR DOG, IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO FIND ANYONE IN TIME. The ACC will not get him, I will not let that happen." Who does that in this day and age?? Just open their heart up to a person in need. (None of the other dog walkers did. They just said they were sorry but couldn't help me.) When he said that to me, I started crying even more. I just couldn't believe that someone had so much compassion, that they would help someone they didn't know, & had never met. So all those neg people, who wrote disparaging remarks about him. You clearly, don't know him. The character that he has, & all around Good Person he is. He has a clear love for dogs and their well-being. He treats every dog in his care, as if they were his own. When I moved to San Francisco, I was looking for a dog walker I could trust with my most prized possession - my little maltese puppy, Piki!! Piki is unlike other small dogs, he is super spunky, loves to play with big and small dogs and is just super cheerful. Eliot was awesome with PIki. When we got our puppy, we came to the conclusion quickly that we needed a dog-walker to socialize and care for our puppy, Finley, during the day while we were at work. We interviewed a few candidates, but naturally bonded with Eliot quickly. He's very personable and loves his job - and Finley clearly loves him too. He's had Finley for about 3 months now and she's thriving with other dogs - even with those much larger than her. She gets at least an hour of exercise each day as part of this service. He's very fairly priced, and while expensive, we find it worth the cost. His transportation is clean and he takes good care of our dog. He also enters our home to get our dog in the middle of the day and I never have to worry about the door being left unlocked or anything missing. I feel comfortable at this point to put a review of Eliot's business on Yelp with 5 stars since he's proven his services to us and I found him on Yelp. We met Eliot when our puppy Miles was only 12 weeks old on one of many potty training walks around our neighborhood in Hayes Valley. Miles started sniffing around Eliot's feet, and within seconds the two of them were rolling around on the sidewalk playing with each other. That was back in February of 2014. We have been loyal and satisfied customers of Eliot since then, and more importantly, Miles comes home every day and gives his seal of approval by immediately taking a 4 hour nap in the middle of the living room. We started working with Eliot and YeePaw a few months ago and have been extremely happy with the service he provides. He is caring, attentive, flexible, and understanding. Our girl Marlowe was a rescue and has some slight behavioral (shyness, on/off moods, separation anxiety) and dietary issues. I will address each below... 1. Behavioral - Marlowe is FLOURISHING under Eliot's care. Her confidence has grown, she has gotten much better socialized, and is generally come into her own as a dog. She is a work in progress, but Eliot is a key contributor on our "team" 2. Dietary - Marlowe has a really sensitive stomach and sometimes that has really inconvenienced Eliot in ways that are quite unfair at times. He has cleaned her crate for us when he picked her up and saw that she had gotten sick there, cleaned his van after she had gotten sick in there, and also kept us looped in he notices that she isn't feeling well during play group. He has even gone above and beyond the call of duty by taking her to vet for us when there was a particularly scary diet issue. At the end of the day, we know that Eliot loves our dog and treats her like his own, which is probably the most important thing. The saddest part about moving is that my little pup will no longer get to see Eliot and Richard with Yeeepaw. They have been such a great team this year when I moved to San Francisco. Audrey is a little stressed out ball of anxiety, and I wanted to find her a solution during the day where she would be safe, and those around her would be safe as well. The folks at Yeepaw are the best dog walkers! They care for my 9 year old Boston Terrier and 14 year old senior citizen Mutt. I couldn't have better things to say. They always provide consistent and friendly service and care incredibly for each of the dogs they walk. I avoided using a dog walker for years because of the horror stores I heard. Dogs being treated roughly or being left in a hot car or in the dog park by themselves- yikes no thanks. Luckily I haven't I don't have to worry about that with Yeepaw. I have been using YeeePaw since late January, so for four months so far. As a result, I have had a chance to assess the quality of care and customer support detail over time. On every dimension, Eliot rocks. My whippet can be a bit shy initially, but Eliot bonded with him immediately and has deepened his relationship with him over time so my dog is excited to go without any hesitation, and my dog is showing more gregariousness overall when I take him for walks. In addition, Eliot has consistently identified changes in health, scratches or any other inconsistency, etc.--often with more detail than I have even though I am the owner (and a very attentive one)--and then alerted me immediately. That attention to detail and obvious affection for dogs has led me to conclude that Eliot is the best dog walker I have ever hired. My dog has shown definite improvements in attitude and confidence since I started using Eliot, and I attribute those improvements to the care Eliot shows every day. As a result, I am surprised by the few negative reviews that are posted here. They definitely contrast with my four months of experience. I have never experienced anything but clear and frequent communication, a willingness to go the extra mile when my schedule changes, super vigilant supervision of the dogs under his care, and a talented touch in handling and training dogs. Why hire a walker when you can hire someone who will take your dog on a play group? I met Eliot a number of years ago at the Collingwood/Castro dog park. He approached me and asked if I had considered a play group for my dog, and given she was a new addition to my family timing was great. But what I love is that he sends texts and pictures throughout the weekend just for fun with updates on Dodger. Yeepaw really *is* the best. I hired them after seeing how Eliot and Richard interact with the dogs in the dog park. They really engage and play with all of the dogs and it's immediately obvious that the dogs love them. I was at the Mission Creek Dog Park one morning with my mom when Eliot arrived with a group of dogs. Eliot is great, my pup Rosebud was one of his first dogs and he was great at getting her to like him. She was a rescue and a shy pup but he made sure to spend time with her and let her get used to him. Eliot also was very accommodating to her, after the first day he realized that she gets car sick when in the back of his van so he let her sit upfront with him. I am the proud owner of a 7 1/2 yr old, adorable bulldog, Gracie! I have lived in the city for 1 1/2 years now...When I met Eliot, I had 3 other dog walkers coming different days! I know this sounds crazy, but I just couldn't find the perfect one! It's not that they were terrible...but because Gracie is my baby...I want her to have the very best, and I want her to be well taken care of and loved so... I just kept trying different ones! Well...When Eliot came over for the first time...For Gracie it was love at first site!! She rubbed up against him to get her butt scratched; bent down in play position, and the true love romance began! I, however, still needed some convincing after my previous experiences! Within a month, I had let all the others go, and hired Eliot 4 days a week! What makes Eliot stand above the rest?? 1. He is totally trustworthy, responsible, respectful, and reliable! He always shows up when scheduled and he has never sent a random person to cover for him (this has happened!!). 2. Eliot goes above and beyond the call of duty to accommodate Gracie's needs! Like many bulldogs, she has had some health issues, and he helps me take care of her. He has picked up meds for her, administered them, monitored her issues, and checked on her when sick. And he has never charged me extra!! I try not to take advantage of this...but it is so good to know that in a bind he always comes through! This is especially comforting since I do not work in the city! 3. He knows how to communicate!! Eliot leaves texts, or notes, or phone calls, updating me on how she did that day! When I leave for overnight trips...he sends me emails with adorable photos attached letting me know how she is doing. He communicates in ways that are convenient for me! This seems obvious...but one pet walker never called or left notes, and only her bills assured me that she was still coming! 4. He puts time and effort into their time together. She returns tired, happy, and behaving better!! Trainer, walker, and dog therapist all in one!! What a bargain! He also takes her to fun places...not just the park across the street! She goes to the presidio, ggate park, the beach! 5. Last of all he is just awesome! A truly great find!! Finally I can rest easy and end my search, and know that this relationship will continue for many years!! Both momma and puppy are happy!! Arya, a ten pound terrier and the love of my life, has been a member of the YeeePaw playgroup since we moved to NEMA 3 1/2 years ago. She absolutely loves her playgroup sessions every day. She comes home exhausted, and I don't need to take her for a walk at night if I'm too tired - she's gotten enough exercise at her playgroup. She has also made some good friends! When she sees her playgroup friends in the elevator, she gets so excited (and us dog owners look at each other like, oh, our dogs must know each other! Ohhhh, they are both members of YeeePaw!). Both Eliot and Richard are fantastic. They clearly love dogs and are great pack leaders. I trust both of them completely with Arya. And one thing I absolutely love: I get a text message when Arya is getting picked up and when she is getting dropped off. When you're at work all day, it's really nice to know what your dog is up to (since she can't text me herself!). One extra thing that really mattered to me with Arya is that everywhere YeeePaw takes the dogs is enclosed, so even dogs like my dog who cannot be trusted off leash in open areas can go off leash and have a great time! read more

We were in a bind trying to find a playgroup for our Doberman and Eliot was able to accommodate us. We tried out a few dog walkers and liked Eliot the best. He is considerate and organized. Eliot communicates with us daily and our dog looks forward to seeing him everyday. In the event that Eliot is on vacation or is sick, he let's us know in advance and offers options for a replacement. Eliot has been looking after my Vizsla pup for about 6 months. He is the third dog "walker" I've been through but high energy breeds require the off-leash exercise his group play outings offer in addition to what I provide in the AM and PM. I travel A LOT for work and Eliot has either picked my puppy up from my dog sitter (in close proximity) or housed my puppy himself. I highly recommend Yeeepaw as a concierge service for your dog. They are always very friendly and attentive with our dog and really helped him break out of the shyness most rescues suffer from. We contacted Eliot (owner) a week before an unplanned trip, for 4 days of overnight care. To our surprise he scheduled a meet-and-greet the next day, the interaction between our dog was great and we were hooked. We continued using his playtime services for daily outings, in less than a month our dog's personality actually changed. He became more confident, plays catch (AWESOME), is amiable when we are in large crowds or the elevator. Who knew old dogs really could learn new tricks. We're always confident that our dog is in good hands while we are away. If there is an open slot in his pack, I'd say reserve it quickly. read more

Before we started working with Eliot, our pup Lady was highly anxious. She was so anxious (afraid of the streets of SF), that she would refuse to leave the lobby of our building. Our previous dog walker told us she had severe anxiety that he couldn't do anything about. Eliot did nothing but take her under his wing and love and adore her. His high energy, sweet and loving demeaner, and affection, completely transformed our pup. Within just a week, he got her exiting our building without fear. From there, it only get better and better. She is the happiest pup she has ever been in her life, and honestly, a completely different dog. Not to mention, she comes home utterly exhausted every single day. Sometimes Eliot even keeps her for a double session, lets us know, and she comes home so happy and pooped that she literally doesnt move all night! Eliot is also incredible at communicating - he lets us know before he picks her up, and when he drops her off, and Lady is always gone for a minimum of 2, usually more! We cant thank Eliot enough for all that he has done for Lady and us. She and us adore him, and we have never seen her tail so wag this much. read more

Eliot and YeeePaw! are fantastic! I've been using YeeePaw! for about 2 months now and couldn't be happier. Eliot serves as a great resource for all my pup questions - and I've had a lot of them. He is extremely caring and attentive to my dog's needs, and very flexible in the couple last minute/emergency situations that have popped up. Elliot took care of Briggs for three weeks while we were away getting married and onto our honeymoon. He not only took great care of our dog, but our home as well.
