Pho & Chill First time to go this hip Vietnamese restaurant on Hwy 99. It's in a nondescript, strip mall. It has a young vibe, in terms of decor and piped in pop music. The food can be ordered via a tablet or an actual menu. The food is surprisingly good and authentic. We had good fresh spring rolls which had a thick peanuty sauce. I had a small bowl of pho with beef and it was delicious. The broth smelled and tasted wth the flavor of toasted cinnamon and anise. My wife had grilled pork skewers on vermicelli were good, too. The space is quite small, probably 12 tables. The lone server cashier was warm and friendly. She followed up on how we liked the food. It was good! We then ordered a small pho and grilled pork vermicelli. The broth of the pho was very clean tasting, notes of cinnamon and star anise were noticeable. Really good broth! Vermicelli had 3 skewers of grilled pork, had lots of veggies and very good. Service is great. A simple, no-frills Vietnamese restaurant just off the 99 in Lynnwood, we were recommended Pho & Chill by our friends that we wanted to catch up with. We came on a Friday afternoon, and it was not busy at all. I got the Banh Mi Chao. For $20, it was average. The steak was of good quality, but I had a problem with the portion size of the meat, as well as the questionable addition of sausages and fries to the banh mi chao. I did not think the fries and the sausages made sense with the meal. I rate it a 3/5. I'll give this place 4 stars since the service from the staff and overall ambiance of the restaurant were nice (they keep playing funny music on the TV lol). This place has potential. It was pretty busy when we came so it took awhile to get seated and order food. Which is completely understandable. It's not why I'm giving 3 stars. The dishes all sounded so good but they didn't taste as flavorful as it looked. The Pho special with garlic and egg was pretty good though. I would order that next time instead of the regular pho. This is the first time i've seen them give like 4 pieces of meat and more noodles. The broth was super bland. My friend's bun rieu was missing some type of seasoning. It tasted off. Our appetizers came out super late. The food in general took forever to come out. We couldn't order any drinks because the lady was leaving to the store. So we couldn't order drinks after waiting awhile to order and be seated. Most of the utensils were not restocked. I could see the workers just talking and chilling with each other when you can tell it's busy. Chopsticks were not given till ask. Condiments for pho not provided and they did not care to check in on us. Going inside the floor is sticky as though it was never cleaned since day 1. I asked for chili peppers on the side because I love spicy food and they cut some up and brought it out from the kitchen for me, as pictured. I love coming here to pho and chill :3 The pho here is so hearty and filling. They do not skimp out on the meat here. I like that the meats are slightly undercooked so when it when it comes out to your table, the broth heats up the meat evenly which helps preserve the consistency of the meat without making it taste chewy and overdone. The pho comes in a size small or large. The portions are very big even for a small. They have an extensive menu with all kinds of Vietnamese cuisine. They recently updated their menu and they have some new dishes, including bo kho. Every time I'm here, I'm always in the mood for pho so I haven't had a chance to order much of their other dishes, except for the rice cake dishes and the bubble tea drinks. Everything has tasted delicious so far! The owners are hard at work and they take your order and serve the food promptly. Satisfied with the service overall. We tried their Grilled Pork Skewers, Pho Bo Vien, and Durian Smoothie! Everything was so, so delicious and filling! The broth and noodle texture for the Pho was perfectly cooked, along with the juiciness of the skewers. I am easily persuaded by social media. When I saw this restaurant pop up in my feed and realized it was close to home, I immediately scheduled a lunch date with my SO. Upon walking in you're greeted by friendly staff. There are cute decorations on the walls (including the standard millennial grass wall hanging with business name in neon), and there was a counter full of plastic cups with the start of mix fruit desserts in the bottom of each. The dining area is a little tight if you want to dine in. It seemed we avoided the lunch rush because there were several un-bussed tables to avoid when we were told to choose any seat. We came for the street snacks and dessert and it was a lovely day so we didn't order pho. In the spirit of foodie adventures, we ordered two things we had never tried before: Bánh Khọt (on the menu these are described as Vietnamese mini savory pancakes) and a dessert with Milo (essentially a chocolate malt) as the base. We also ordered banh xeo and garlic fries. The garlic fries were my least favorite. Not as much of a garlic taste, a little on the thin side, and no dipping sauce came with them (although there are sauces on the table). But where the garlic fries failed, the banh khot shined. Banh khot, I quickly realized, is just a mini banh xeo with a single shrimp in the middle, which makes eating it so much easier. The banh xeo was equally as delicious, and the accompanying herbs and lettuce were fresh. Pho and Chill has a whole menu page dedicated to drinks and desserts, so I had to try one. I chose the Milo with boba and flan as an homage to a single childhood trip to the Philippines where I discovered Milo chocolate candies and fell in love with the taste. This Milo dessert cup is rich, blended ice with flan on the top and boba at the bottom. The little bits of Milo that form a crust around the rim were a tasty memory of my childhood trip. I'm so happy to find Pho and Chill, especially for the dishes that you can't find at a regular banh mi or pho shop (it's been a while since we found banh xeo since our favorite Vietnamese shop in Everett closed). And I can't wait to return in the summer months for a refreshing dessert or a meal heavy on the herbs and lettuce. Give them a try! read more

Very potential restaurant with great choices for food. However they need to improve the service and drink. We came around 11.10 a.m like second customer in the store but the service pretty slow. Sat there and waited for like 20 minute without offering the water even the customer came after us has gotten their water already. I ordered Pho, it was good but my husband plate the lamb was raw inside. Maybe they need to cook slightly longer to bring out the taste of lamb otherwise will smell quite gamy. But the sauce over the lamb and egg was really delicious! The drink was not the best if you don't wanna say bland. Can't taste the mango and matcha at all. Just like milk alone. Pho & Chill is fairly close to our house so we decided to check it out tonight around 6 pm. When we arrived, there were a couple seated and another waiting for their to-go order, so not too busy on a Wednesday. The restaurant had boxes of Funko Bobbleheads displayed (for sale?) around the front counter which was unusual. Food: I ordered A6 Hu Tieu Hai San ($15) which had a choice of Vermicelli rice or egg noodles. I chose Vermicelli but it came with pho noodles instead. It had 2 fish balls, 2 prawns, 2 mussels (with shells so be careful), 1 squid piece, 1 small pork loaf, and small shreds of imitation crab. It was ok but not worth the price IMO. Hubby got V3 Bun Thit nuong ($15). He said the sauce and meat lacked flavor so he had to add some fish sauce. Daughter got the S8 Banh Xeo ($17). She liked it except the pancakes fell apart easily when she tried to wrap them in the lettuce. Service: Other than bringing the water and the food to our table, no one checked on us. I saw a patron walked up to the counter asking for more water. We had to go up to the register to pay as well. Atmosphere: They've freshened up the old Phoenix restaurant interior which was nice. The AC didn't appear to be working that well because we all felt warm so not really the place to "chill". Overall: We LOVE Vietnamese food so are always willing to try a new restaurant. The place was quite small.The menu was just a piece of paper but in a really bad shape with lots of creases which makes it look so cheap. I didn't enjoy any of the 2 dishes that I tried The Bun bo Hue was very bland in both flavor and aroma. And with the portion I got, it's definitely not worth the price (I think it's either $16 or $17 The sizzling beef was a big disappointment. In short: They took the best local pho spot, remodeled, made it a pho spot again, and it's even better. Great pho, great banh mi, and page after page of street food, too. Awesome. In long: This place was the local institution for pho. You can go a mile or two in any direction and find more pho spots that have their own army of regulars, too. I have tried them all and this was my favorite. I moved a little closer to this neighborhood 6 years ago and it was the first place I went the first day I lived over here. Hearing that the owners needed time to be with their little kids was sad news for me. I still miss them, but the pho is damn near as good as ever. It's a little strip mall just north of 525 on 99. Lots of car traffic. The mall itself is getting a little beat-up from time and wear, but it's nice inside. You always find parking. This place never had a big dining room. They added a rail with stools and a much bigger counter, so even with all new, slightly-smaller tables and chairs, it's still PACKED in here even when there are no customers. It's *nice* though--new flooring, new paint, big TV, new everything. Homey place to get homey food. The staff are super friendly and you can tell they've paid attention to every detail. Pho They nail everything--tender meat, flavorful meatballs, chewy noodles. The broth is clear and a little on the sweet side. The only thing they're missing here is that little extra bit of balance in the broth flavor, but otherwise everything about the soup is as good as the old place. Banh Mi I've had a few of these delivered. Yesterday was the first time I visited in person, and didn't try banh mi fresh from the kitchen. But I vouch for them. All the tasty pork, good pate, crunchy veg, everything you want. Street Food We haven't tried the snails, but we're getting there. We've had mini-pancakes, crepes, and other stuff that has all been amazing. Hot Green Tea They bring out steaming-hot water, sugar packs, and your own unopened pack of Costco green tea. It's just fine for sure; what really stands out is the clear single-serving just-for-you approach. The dining room here seems at first to have a casual, pho-shop vibe, but the menu is way more like a family-style restaurant where everybody comes in together and chows down from all over the menu. Then you realize that everyone is so nice and friendly and everything is so carefully put together that the whole vibe is all about community and family. It just has a casually welcoming feel right off. I miss the smiling faces of the old owners, but we have everything we could want and more from their replacements. It's a HUGE improvement from the previous Vietnamese restaurant in this location. It's in a very rundown strip mall, but they have done a great job of brightening up and attractivising the place. The menu and the food is also a part of the improvement. Bo Kho is always on my radar. I'd love to find one as good as at a now closed Seattle spot. This one is very good. The soup is rich and flavorful. The beef has a good mix of connective tissues. I just wish a little fat was left on. The baguette that comes with rocks. They bake them here and when they're piping hot, it's wonderful. I also like it with noodles, so I'll have it next time. It's nice to find broken rice served at restaurants. Rice farmers used to keep it for themselves while they sold the premium whole grains. It's harder to prepare properly because its easy to overcook. Theirs was nicely prepared. The Pork Chop was deliciously marinated and grilled. The shredded pork skin was a garlic overload for me, but most people would love that. Pho n Chill is going into our Rotation Collection. This restaurant is easy to miss if you don't know it's there, tucked among a small line of stores near a gas station, this place is a little gem. The interior is small and nothing fancy, but clean and bright. Each time I have been in, I am greeted warmly. The staff is very friendly. I went in tonight and ordered several sides to try and was not disappointed. The calamari is covered in a buttery, light crust and the inside has just the right amount of chewiness to it. It is served with an amazing dipping sauce (I couldn't tell what it was). The fries were crispy and hot with a hint of saltiness. They were served with ketchup. I decided to try the Bánh Khot, which is like a little pancake cup with shrimp and scallions. This is served with a sweet and sour fish sauce. Having never had this dish, I wasn't sure what to expect but like everything else it was amazing. The tofu báhn mì is a good size and it's packed with tofu and veggies. I've also tried the egg rolls and they are delicious. Crispy and hot each time. One order is 8.75, and you get five egg rolls. Very impressed. A good Vietnamese American friend who knows a lot an out food recommends this place and she was right. We got the tofu pho (special order w beef broth though normally it is veggie) and my friend likes to add chilli oil. She said oil wasn't hot but it was very flavorful. We got the gỏi cuốn thịt nướng and you can tell it was freshly made because the pork was still warm. Pork skewers had lots of lemongrass flavor and moist, Egg rolls crispy in the bún thịt nướng chả giò . I got the gỏi bò (beef salad), which was different from other places I had it--more texture. Most of the time it's made w cabbage. This one had lots of green leaf lettuce, herbs, bean sprouts, some banana flower, sautéed onions. My friends tried and they really liked it too. Customer service was good overall. There was only 1 main person working the front with some help from the back for food drop offs so service took a little long. It was really busy so understandable since it was just 1 person. It's a bit cramped and there isn't much space to walk around between tables. There's especially not much space for a high chair. The place is pretty clean inside. Everything looks pretty new. The food is pretty good. I like that they offer drinks and desserts like boba too. I wanna come back to try their drinks and sandwiches. This place is THE BOMB!! Not your typical Vietnamese restaurant. They serve a lot of other dishes that are unique from the Central. My boyfriend and I wanted to try this place for awhile, funny same day after my coworker hyped me up to just go so we did. She's from Central Vietnam and said she goes here several times a week. My bf (also viet) wanted to try because this is such a unique Vietnamese restaurant that serves authentic street food like in Vietnam. So glad it's not a far drive in Seattle. They have a variety of dishes to try, please be open minded to their menu. We got durian milk tea, cafe sua da, 3 snail dishes (#D5-D7 with the bread ofc!), banh xeo, and their egg rolls. Yes, I know we tried a shit ton and they were all so amazingly delicious! We were in heaven. I can't wait to go back soon to try all the other amazing dishes. This is a $12 rice paper salad looks like after I open it. I don't understand why it costs that much with little portion. The sauce is not from beef jerky sauce but its fish sauce that too salty for my taste. My husband ordered a combo rice and it was no longer good like old restaurant Phoenix we used to have here. Awesome Vietnamese (maybe fusion?) restaurant in an easy to get to location right off the freeway. Restaurant was clean and modern and was pretty crowded when we went. Menu had your Vietnamese staples but they had some pretty creative stuff that I think I'll have to try next time. But SNAILS, yes they have SNAILS and shellfish and been looking for a good restaurant that serves Vietnamese style for a while now. Luckily there was a table for us when we got there. Yes, they definitely have pho here and it was amazing. Whenever you get a bowl of pho from anywhere, the first thing you have to do is drink the broth with nothing else added because that's what sets each pho place apart. Pho & Chill has some AMAZING broth and you can tell it's not powder and that they probably cooked that for 12+ hours. I tried the seafood broth and I lowkey thought that was even better. Also ordered snails and clams and it tasted way better than another local Vietnamese restaurant that specializes in that type of stuff. The salted egg yolk snails were fantastic and extremely flavorful. Will definitely come back here and it's already turned into my most favorite pho restaurant in the area! read more

One sentence to sum them up: Flavors of home. I haven't seen many of these dishes on a menu since being in vietnam. I ordered three dishes from different genres and all of which involved different techniques to execute. The first dish that arrived was the Banh Mi Chao. It's a Vietnamese sizzle dish that turns quite a few heads. It came with two crispy-edged-eggs, smokey little sausages, savory French/ viet influenced meatballs, tomatoes, a large ~6oz piece of steak all in a beautiful body of garlic butter in a sizzling skillet. Served with a warm banh mi. My advice is to tear off a piece of bread and enjoy each bite with a different component of the dish. Make sure you get that garlicy butter with every bite! I can see Pho & Chill being known for this dish, it is a must try if you've never experienced it. The second dish to arrive was the Sampler plate off of the appetizer menu. It came with fried potstickers, egg rolls, and garlic fries. The frying technique on the egg rolls were wonderful. Crispy outside and hot and soft fillings inside. I would recommend you order these items individually if you had an eye for each one. I think next time I'm going to try the Prawn on Sugar Cane and Banh Xeo to better experience authentic flavors. The last dish to arrive was the Steam cakes Combo. This was a mix of all the different steamed dishes ranging from tapioca base, coconut/rice base, to rice based dishes -many of which I have no clue what they're called in English lol. This dish comes topped with the proper toppings (fried garlic & green onions), and a small bowl of nouc mam to dip. The flavors and textures were exactly what they should have been. My only suggestion is that I wish they would have came with veggies like lettuce and other traditional Vietnamese herbs. Perhaps this is just a regional preference for me. Nice little restaurant that has a broad menu of Vietnamese dishes. We always enjoy their flan desserts. Dining area is a little small and can feel a little tight if the restaurant is busy. Outside of that, everything was great! read more

Ordered viet grilled plate, kids pho, steam combo, grilled pork skewers, and grilled snails. Interesting restaurant. Served lots of things not usually seen in viet restaurants like the skewers and snail. Tasted good, not good enough to come back though. Some pieces of the steam combo reminded me of Hawaiian food, mainly due to the smell the leaves infused into the food. Good restaurant, and unique enough to be unforgettable, but ultimately lacks short in taste. read more
