Hiring Yoleine was one of the best decisions I made throughout the wedding planning process. We picked the smallest package (day of coordination) she offered but with all of the emails/followups/willingness to help you would have had absolutely no idea. I don't think anyone really knows before they have a wedding just how much having a planner/coordinator helps. There seriously is no way that our wedding would have gone so flawlessly without Yoleine there. We are still hearing stories from our guests about how she saved the day. Just a few we heard: -Watched out for a guest's parking meter so the guest wouldn't miss the ceremony -Got a guest Tums because guest wasn't feeling well -Told guests where to go and answered any questions -Had a great idea to move buffet after the place we had planned on it going didn't work out the day of -Picked up a new pair of suspenders for father of the groom -She worked well with the management at the venue Yoleine took my vision and made it a reality. Yoleine and her team are AMAZING! I had the privilege of working with her to plan my wedding last year. I love how she has different options of how much planning you need help with--other planners I looked at only had 1 option and I didn't need 100% assistance in planning my wedding--just a little beforehand and of course the day of. Yoleine and team went by Twelve Events until a couple months ago (I think a couple months). I LOVE Yoleine. Really, truly. I wasn't worried about a thing. As soon as I hired her for day-of coordination, I sort of mentally went on spring break - senioritis - etc. She kept all the pieces moving and together and asked me questions about things that I didn't even realize were considerations for the big day. I only hired her for day-of, but she met with me three times before the big event and helped me with some decorative details. She has this giant binder that keeps you, your vendors, and all your details straight. The day-of, she and her assistants ran the event like true professionals. I'm sure a few things went wrong or there were hiccups ... I have NO idea what they are because Yoleine took care of it. I had the most amazing day from beginning to end and Yellow Bird Events is there behind the scenes the entire time. I got a little... um... tipsy at the end and so don't really remember everything but when I woke up in the morning, Yoleine had packed us a plate of food in case we didn't eat during the day and all the details/cards/clothes we needed to take home were in our hotel room. She packed them up for me at the end of the night. On top of all this, she's just a joy to work with. Great personality, smile, and attitude. At the end of the night, I do believe I proclaimed my love for her haha. Yellow Bird Events was not our first wedding planner we'd planned to hire. We had previously been courted by and came very close to hiring another planner, but after several missed deadlines, cancelled meetings and a budget and proposal that not only exceeded what we discussed but incorporated elements we explicitly said we didnt want to include. Needless to say by the time the now Mrs. suggested we meet with more wedding planners, I was resistant. At this point we had already lined up our venue, guest lists, the dress, the reception location, flowers, etc and felt we had everything under control and nicely buttoned up. So, my hope was to hire someone to help us on the day of, and suggested we find a short term person to help us with simple logistics. My then fiancé, reached out to a few people who we got recommendations for, and Yoliene was not only the first to follow up but did so with a beautifully assembled and well thought out proposal that reflected much of what was discussed and unlike our last experience showed skills in active listening, processing, and preparedness to execute an event we want not push her will on us. We hired YBE and could not have been more please. What I thought was a wedding that we had already fully prepared for turned out to be only 60% of the way there. Yoliene met us 3 or 4 times before the wedding, after each meeting she followed up with detailed emails running down the to do list for herself and stuff we needed to get done. Gently pushed us when our schedules didnt allow for the fastest turn around - - and most impressively, made us feel like we were her only clients. I actually kinda assumed we were, and maybe it was a slow period for her, but came to find she was traveling all over working on multiple projects and yet never fell behind, never dropped the ball, kept us on track, fully executed everything so we could just sit back deal with family and get all married and what not. SInce our wedding, another friend hired YBE for a birthday party we attended this passed weekend and Im happy to report they gave rave reviews as well. Speaking from experience, I know hiring a planner or coordinator for a wedding can be a big decision but for what its worth to the Yelp-o-sphere, I'd happily and enthusiastically recommend Yoliene. I don't really know where to start so I'll just start with saying Yoleine is simply amazing! She was our wedding coordinator and she was hands-down the best investment we made for the wedding. She not only coordinated our wedding day, she also took over all communication with vendors about a month before the wedding and was a huge help throughout the months leading to the wedding. She gave us an incredible amount of useful advise and information while we were searching for vendors or when we were having mental breakdowns ;) She also had so many great ideas for decorations, place settings, program, ...etc.! Whenever we had any questions, Yoleine was able to provide just the right answers. Our wedding day itself was pure relaxation (compared to the months before) - and it was all because of her! Yoleine put in so many hours on our wedding day and persisted on being the first to get there before the vendors arrived and the last to leave at night. She even spent half the day with us the day before the wedding because we had rentals arriving earlier. I really do not know how we would have managed to get anything done without her. Her calm but fun attitude made working with her such a great experience! When I got started with planning the wedding I was wondering why I would ever want anyone to plan my wedding but luckily a friend recommended getting a coordinator. Looking back I should have definitely just booked Yoleines full-planning-package - because planning a wedding is like taking on a second job! Yoleine, we can not thank you enough! Exceeding expectations with a smile! Yoleine is a phenomal planner! My friend/co-worker recommended Yoleine to me - and boy am I grateful! Yoleine, exceeded all our expectations (and best of all - always with a smile). She really takes the time to get to know your vision and YOU personally in order to understand your vision better. I really wanted to make sure I got to know her as well since I had a destination wedding in Mexico. Initially I was nervous since Yoleine had not (at the time) worked on an overseas wedding. I knew that Yoleine had many vendors domestically (that we were also able to work with for certain design details). But now I needed to see if she could find/work with vendors in MEXICO. And let me tell you - she impressed me...she researched her stuff and worked with the Mexican vendors and the day-of coordinator perfectly! I mean, talk about 'stepping outside the box' - Yoleine had to work with people from a different country and different language...yep, she IMPRESSED me alright! :-) Yoleine worked tirelessly to make all the details EXACTLY what I wanted (in fact, BETTER than I could have imagined). We really could not have done this without Yoleine. We basically had a destination wedding and decided early on a wedding coordinator was a must. There really is so much you have no clue about when it comes to planning a wedding and Yoleine was amazing. She recommended vendors, suggested tipping guidelines, help decorate, provided guidance and ideas when we weren't really sure what to do. She was incredibly responsive and we LOVED that she used an online project management tool so we could track all our contracts, documents and conversations! This review is long, long overdue. I hired Yoleine about 5 months before my 250+ person wedding and, at that time, had essentially nothing done for it. My husband and I could not make a decision about anything, and finally in a moment of desperation, I decided to hire Yoleine. That decision was the absolute best decision I made during the planning process! Despite the fact that we had nothing done, were on a relatively limited budget (considering the size of our wedding), and had to juggle some cultural aspects of the wedding (my husband is Nigerian-American), Yoleine swooped in completely calm, cool and collected (and incredibly organized), and got everything into perfect shape within a matter of months! She was so attentive to all of our concerns and requests, she was so patient with us during the times when we couldn't make decisions or got overwhelmed, she always came up with multiple solutions to any potential problem, and she always, always, always had the same upbeat, funny, relaxing demeanor whenever we interacted with her - in short, she was a dream! And during the day of our wedding, she (and her team) executed every single aspect of our wedding without a hitch! There is no way, in mind (and in my husband's mind), that we could have pulled off our flawless wedding without her! If you are thinking about hiring her, definitely do it! Oh Yoleine, how do we love thee...let us count the ways! My (now) husband Steven and I met up with Yoleine knowing we had about five months to plan the wedding. I had interviewed several others and kept hearing that it was going to be tough to pull it off in five months, it was going to cost us for waiting etc etc, but Yoleine had a can-do attitude from the gates. We pitched a scenario to her about how we wanted to have puerto rican food but our venue was restrictive with set up and she immediately gave us like three ways to handle it. This was our experience with Yoleine all the way up to the wedding. No, in fact even AFTER the wedding she brought my IPhone to the hotel at 3am since I'd left it at the reception. There was no situation that she did not respond to with creativity and professionalism. She went wedding dress shopping with me, she walked me through family dynamics, she communicated with all the vendors so I wouldn't have to, she checked in after ever big thing (engagement pix, bachelorette etc) just to see how I was doing, she was uber organized and detail oriented, she was always quick to respond and there was no detail or concern I had too inconsequential to receive her full attention, I mean she MADE PILLOWS AND HUNDREDS OF MARACAS for our reception! Come on! She also has a great network of vendors that as a team made our day the most wonderful experience. In fact the only vendor we had a bad experience with and I regret hiring is the one that she didn't recommend but we found on our own. Lastly, Yoleine was just such a supportive and helpful presence throughout every step of the way. I got married Sept. 2012 and since then, I have repeatedly told Yoleine and many others, MY WEDDING WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT YELLOW BIRD EVENTS!!! I can't stress this enough. Yoleine is an absolute PERFECT fit for the job. Her temperament, her dedication, her determination, and her interpersonal skills made her the perfect coordinator for my wedding day. She's calm when you're stressed, she takes charge in exactly the right ways, she offers super creative ideas, she is both big picture and attentive to detail, and most importantly, she remains her pleasant, bubbly self through it all. What a gift she has. You will not have to worry about a thing when Yoleine starts working her magic. I told Yoleine that my one goal was to relieve myself of anything related to wedding planning one week before the big day. And that I did. I handed off everything, I mean EVERYTHING, to Yoleine 7 days before the wedding and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Yoleine created that space I needed to greet out of town guests, play at the beach, and simply hang out and relax just days before and throughout the wedding. I think my wedding was the perfect example of Yoleine at her best. Why you ask? Well, because my reception was held at a warehouse.....a warehouse! A 5,000 square foot space with pipes and wires and machinery everywhere. And we were the first ones to ever have a wedding reception in it! We did not have the luxury of a site staff, chairs/tables, easily accessible audio/visual equipment, mood lighting, in house catering, no one to set up/tear down and the list goes on. It was a blank canvas. And Yoleine was more than up for the challenge. On my wedding day, Yoleine was the first one in and the last one out. Literally. She made sure I was on schedule while tending to all of our vendors (and there were a lot of them!). She transformed the warehouse into a beautiful, perfect reception venue for us. And after it was all over, she stayed to make sure the warehouse was spic and span. I really couldn't have asked for more. I hired Yoleine as my day-of coordinator, but she went FAR ABOVE AND BEYOND what she was contracted to do. I told her what I envisioned and she made it happen. And then some. Yoleine goes above and beyond, and she is truly the best at what she does! From the moment we met her she put us at ease with her cool demeanor and made the process of planning a wedding seem far less daunting than we were expecting. She's very organized and positive, a great listener, and she was always available for questions, advice, help...you name it. Yoleine thought of everything, right down to the tiniest of details. She went out of her way to do so much for us, not just leading up to the wedding but also on the day of. We don't know how we could have done any of it without her!! To be honest, I was a bit overwhelmed with all the wedding planning, but the minute Yoleine began to consult with me, I felt a great weight had been lifted from my shoulders. We were referred to Yellow Bird Events through a friend of my sister's. And I don't know how I would have survived wedding planning without Yoleine! We only had our venue booked when we started working with Yoleine. She helped us with organizing the entire planning process, referred us to wonderful vendors (Kathy Burnham for flowers; Fondly Forever for photos; and Prim & Pixie for invitations), coordinated with all our vendors and our venue and materialized our vision for our wedding. My (now) husband and I had no idea how to plan an event or how to decorate for an event.
