I've only ever had one other type of crepe before so I was pretty excited to try this place out. The building itself is very nice, you can play Connect Four or chess on the tables. It looks like it would be perfect to go in for something warm and a book. I ordered the Nutella with strawberries and whipped cream and later the spinach and chicken with some sauce. The Nutella was very good, very sweet as one would expect. It does need that whipped cream to help balance it out. The Spinach and chicken one was fine but kind of missing something. Like some more seasoning. It was just alright. I didn't realized until later, but they do have some salt and pepper by the waters. So next time I'll try adding some salt to it but I feel like you shouldn't have to add seasoning. One of the downside is I think they upped their prices according to the other yelpers. Both of my crepes was $10 not $8. They were decent sized but again I felt like something was missing. I'll probably go back but when I have time and money to spare. read more

If you've never been to another crepe cafe before this place may seem amazing but it is far from where it could be. I ordered a black bean, spinach tomato type crepe for ~$8 and from my experience at other crepe cafes I expected the crepe to be something so savory and flavorful that I wouldn't feel bad for paying $8 for something I could make at home. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed. I wouldn't really call the crepe I got a crepe. I would call it more like a bunch of black beans, spinach, and tomato falling out of a fried flour and egg blend. The only flavor I experienced was from the thin avocado layer that managed to cling onto the interior. The beans, tomato and spinach mixture I ended up eating more as a salad was also pretty bland. I also had their lemon crepe a few months back and it tasted like a lemon was squeezed onto a friend flour and egg blend and some powdered sugar was thrown onto it for kicks. Basically, there is nothing special about these crepes. Nothing that makes me feel the desire to cough up an extra few bucks and minutes in the gym to have another, and nothing that makes me want to go there to study any more than Starbucks or Roasters. I appreciate the kind of unique cafe culture that this place is trying to bring to Richland but honestly if they want to be known for their crepes and not just as another low-lit place to plug in your laptop then they should step up their culinary game. read more

If you like cold hollandaise and canned salsa then this is the place for you! The crepes (or whatever it is they're serving as crepes) were strange. Places like these claim to be all about local ingredients, but didn't deliver once again. My 1st visit was today and i was pleasantly suprised. I ordered 4 of the sweet crepes and I enjoyed the chocolate rasberry the most. The lemon sugar was very lemony but enjoyable. I had them add rasberry to it which made it even better. The strawberries were so yummy, making the crepe delicious. I cannot say anything negative about this place from the food to the owners. They were very present and working just as hard ad the employees. It was nice to see them getting in and helping instead of just sitting back. Recommendation.... get there early as it seems to always be busy so the seating is limited. read more

When I first went to Kagen Coffee & Crepes I honestly did not know what to expect. My first crepe experience was blown away by the Chicken Spinach and Cheese with pesto on the side. My boyfriend and I topped off our experience with a Nutella and raspberry crepe, wow. It was amazing. The interior was equally magnificent. The dining is personal and you feel welcome even as a total stranger. There are plenty of happy faces in front of AND behind the counter. This is as god as it gets. A lot of people say that, you can take this to heart. The location was just a little hard to find (give me a break, I'm old and had never been to Richland until yesterday. The gents behind the counter were very professional, efficient, and had no trouble answering questions from a couple of old(er) farts curious about the place. The interior is slightly on the bohemian side, sort of a "mellowed eclectic" feel to it with some interesting seating where you could play chess or checkers while you waited for your food. This might not be ideal for kids, so perhaps bringing some stuff for them would be a good idea. The food. Here is the best part. The crepes we ordered were absolutely amazing! I had the ham, spinach, and cheese (no ham - vegetarian) and my wife ordered the spinach, black bean, onion, pepper, and chicken (No mea...you get the picture.) We shared our crepes so we could get a taste of both of the full-flavored fillings of the very tender crepes. They were done to perfection, and we had to fight to not order more. the food is an absolute delight and well worth stopping in for a bite. The coffee, too, was very bold, hearty, and warming (it was raining yesterday morning) and hit the spot. They have a lot of different flavors for guests to satisfy their sweet coffee tooth. You can order the same styles of coffee as well from lattes to mochas, pretty much the usual. The coffee itself though, if they use the same blend we had with breakfast, will have a solid flavorful foundation for everybody to enjoy. This was the genuinely perfect start to our weekend, and are still talking about how inviting and welcome we felt at Kagen Coffee and Crepes. Don't get to Richland very often, usually in Kennewick. Had a doctors appointment here today so deceided to try a crepe for breakfast and I wish I would have had someone to share my crepe with as it was huge, not bad for $10.00. The guy at the desk was nice enough to ask if I wanted 4 shots in a 16 oz which I didn't. My breakfast came quickly and one of these days I will come and have a sweet crepe. My wife and I were hungry and wanted coffee. She wanted to try this place. I wasn't really in the mood for crepes, but when we got our coffee and crepes... Oh. My. God.. the atmosphere here is amazing and it's bustling but still quiet. The crepe we had was the black bean avocado one and it was insanely good. I'm about to order another one now because I just want to try it. I've managed three coffee shops at one time in my life and studied the science around coffee. This place has some of the best foo foo coffee I've ever tasted and their house brew and espresso is amazing. You cannot go wrong here. read more

Not terrible but not worth recommending. IF you try the savory crepes only get the chicken one with pesto added. The black bean one sounded flavorful but was so bland and the salsa they use is mild pase. My group got both tea and coffee which were all mediocre. Seating is limited and uncomfortable. Crepes are supposed to be soft but ours was way over cooked. They were very busy for a Saturday, but as I looked around I don't think we were the only ones with overcooked crepes I heard others crunching on edges. Went to a restaurant I've wanted to try since it opened late last year. While it was tasty, it is... underwhelming? There we go. It tastes good but that's it. It was a savory crepe but I could've had a McMuffin elsewhere and be more satisfied. My husband and I just ate here and loved it. It's fantastic to find a place offering gluten free in a small town. We really enjoyed the egg, spinach, ham and cheese. The raspberry chocolate was delicious as well, but definitely split due to being very sweet. Our cortado's along with the mineral waters were yummy as well. Our two suggestions are: 1) It would be nice to have a greek crepe or something along those lines with kalamata olives and such. I realize this is a coffee shop and I'm sure the goal is to keep things simple, which is completely understandable. 2) I agree with others that using real dishes would be nice. I get how that could be problematic with the extra expense along with the extra work, but we feel you should at least consider having real silverware since the crepes are difficult to cut with plastic. You could keep up with the eclectic vibe by buying cheap used silverware from flea markets. Either way, we loved this place and look forward to coming back on our next road trip! read more

This was our first time here and what a big disappointment. They said all their syrups were made in house, which sounded good. When we ordered the carmel they said they were out but the owner was suppose to be in at 11 to make more. It was 12 noon, must not be too important. We ordered two latte's and two crepes. The drinks were very very weak and the crepes were so so. They were not that busy but took 30 minutes to serve us. They gave us plastic forks because they said we don't have any clean regular forks. Then about 5 minutes later they brought us regular forks. I had to go get our own napkins. For the price of two weak coffees and two crepes at $21.75 we won't be going back. Almost forgot the flys were real bad but don't know what they could do about that. Hope others have a better experience. read more

I am so grateful that North Richland has a crepe cafe. I come to Kagen's Crepes to study regularly since they're open late and the staff are all wonderful, and the crepes are delicious.
