Fruit salad - under the banana was perfect blueberries and strawberries

We were looking for somewhere new while we were east for my daughter's appointment. I only took photos of my food because I was obsessed. Let's break down my obsession. 1. The toast was thin but toasted perfect to not overshadow the 2. PERFECTLY ripe avocado. So many places serve a smash or a premade guacamole (and then give you a schmere). The 3. Poached eggs were perfectly cooked and served in its own little bowl to make sure any water didn't end up soaking the bread. The 4. tomato slices were also perfectly ripe and the whole dish was lightly seasoned. I don't think I have enjoyed something so simple so much. The restaurant, including the bathrooms, was super clean and service was wonderful. My daughter had French toast. It smelled so delicious and my daughter, who normally leaves some over, ate it all because it was so good. No syrup needed for her. My husband has the Greek salad. He added chicken. It was also very good (yes, I grabbed a few fork fulls). The dressing was light and tasty. We will definitely return.

At Yellow Yolk Crystal is the best!!! The food is simple and great. The service is pristine and the place is well decorated. Most of my reviews have more words, but the Yellow Yolk is simply the best and if you are in Pompano FL and want breakfast or brunch, in my opinion the Yellow Yolk should be your first choice.

This was our first visit, and overall pleased. At 9:30, it was not crowded which was surprising, but definitely welcomed. The venue has a nice variety for breakfast and lunch. The food tasted good and was served as ordered. I wish they buttered the toast, but not a deal breaker. The prices are decent, maybe a dollar or 2 more than a diner more west, which is expected. The service was good, Gabriella took care of us. Plenty of parking in the back for both The Yellow Yolk and Miraggo Italian Grill which are under the same ownership. I recommend a visit, especially if in the mood for a beach day.

This breakfast spot was amazing! The restaurant was bright and clean & we had the best waitress! She was the only one working and she did an amazing job! I ordered the Greek omelette and my guest ordered the breakfast burrito. The food came out very fast and coffee was hot and the pot stayed at your table which is really nice. Sunday morning, there wasn't many people dining here which was very odd since there so reasonably priced. We loved it!!! I will be back again to try some other breakfast items, there pancakes looked really good!

Awsome place, i found it on Yelp. We got there late so it wasn't very busy. The menu is mostly breakfast with some lunch items. My wife and daughter decided to have breakfast and me, I had lunch. My daughter had something simple, French toast. Unfortunately I didn't get to take a photo of it. It must have been really good, because she didn't even leave a crumb on the plate. Now my wife, she had avocado toast. She said she never knows what to expect when she orders it. The bread was probably the worst part of this dish, but it was perfect for this dish. It came with real sliced avocado as opposed to quacamole or avocado spread. The eggs were poached perfectly and in bowl on the side instead of on top of the toast. The tomatoes were also on the side. Yes, there was some assembly necessary. Once all parts were combined together, it made for an awesome dish. The avocado toast made what I had seem pretty boring. I had a Greek salad with grilled chicken. It had a nice variety of vegetables, that were all really fresh. I was very good too! I definitely see us going here again when we in the area.

As soon as you walk in, you are hit with a vibrant, beautiful place. The decorations, the wall, everything is bright and very Florida-coded. Our waitress was so kind and welcoming. The freshly squeezed orange juice is amazing! I ordered the French Toast (regular style) and they did not let down! You get 4 1/2 slices and I cleaned my plate! My mom got the strawberry French Toast and an egg. My mom said that her food was amazing as well. The egg was cooked to perfection, and the amazing French toast mix of cinnamon and butter was melt in your mouth! The French Toast was so soft you didn't even need a knife! Great place overall!

Got refused service on a sunny Sunday because I wanted to sit outside... Guy who runs this show told me that it's too cold when it's literally a nice day out! Too bad because I drove all the way here to enjoy an outdoor breakfast but whatever ...

OMG, if you're cruising down Atlantic Boulevard toward Pompano Beach and spot that bright Yellow Yolk building popping against the skyline, do yourself a favor and pull in it's the ultimate breakfast/brunch gem with killer views of the iconic drawbridge! This place is perfectly perched right by the Pompano Beach Drawbridge (that stunning sail-inspired one that opens for boats on the hour and half-hour), so you get front-row seats to the Intracoastal action while digging into some seriously delicious food. The vibe inside is super modern, airy, and clean think cute yellow yolk decor on the ceiling and big windows flooding the place with light. The menu is classic breakfast done right with fresh ingredients fluffy pancakes, perfect eggs Benedict (the salmon one is ), crispy home fries, and fresh-squeezed OJ that tastes like sunshine. Portions are generous, everything comes out hot and fast, and the staff is genuinely friendly and attentive. Pro tip: Grab a window seat to watch the bridge lift for yachts gliding by it's mesmerizing and makes your morning coffee even better. Whether you're locals or beach-bound, this spot nails the chill waterfront breakfast vibe without any fuss. Already planning my next visit!

A decent local breakfast/brunch place. Staff were friendly and attentive and service was quick but didn't compromise quality. We started with iced coffee which was a little disappointing. It was a little watered down and didn't have any options for flavoring (albeit we were warned of this). The food itself was great. I had the chicken stuffed omelette which lived up to its name. There was a very generous amount of chicken that wasn't dry. The potatoes were well cooked and seasoned. I also stole a lot of my partner's pancakes. They were fluffy and sweet with a generous amount of bananas and chocolate chips within the pancakes as well. Be warned: the restaurant is right up against a major road that crosses water so there is a bell alarm and speaker announcements frequently regarding the bridge being raised.

We had a lovely lunch here. Service was friendly and we enjoyed conversing with our server. And our food came out as ordered, in a timely manner, and was quite good. They are located on the south side of Atlantic just east of the intracoastal. So be prepared to turn right away. One big advantage of this restaurant is that it has its own free parking lot right behind it. Inside the restaurant is all yellow and white and bright and airy. There are large windows on three sides. They serve breakfast all day. My husband was craving a waffle. He ordered a Belgian waffle plain without the sugar. He added butter and syrup. And said it was good. I had their chicken wrap. Our server had said she really liked this choice. I got the chicken grilled and it came with lots of avocado and lettuce and tomato. There was ample Caesar salad dressing on it, too, so it was not dry. Alongside the wrap was a large pickle slice and also some crinkle-cut fries which were cooked well done as ordered. I know these were probably commercial fries, but they were very good. My husband even stole a few off my plate. So glad we tried this restaurant. I'd like to come back to try their breakfast offerings. Prices are quite reasonable here, as well.

Eh, just okay. I was really excited to try this place out given the location and all the upgrades happening around Pompano Beach, however, it was just a basic breakfast experience. It was kind of confusing how to get to the restaurant coming from the beach given the spot to turn left had a sign saying no left turn & no u-turn. I guess you're supposed to go past the bridge and make a u-turn further up, I don't know, I made the illegal left while the drawbridge signal was down. Other than that, parking was super easy (& free!) and the lot was huge. I really enjoyed the banana & chocolate chip waffles and the price point wasn't hiked up to "beach pricing", thankfully because it wouldn't have been worth any more than it was on the menu for. I thought it was strange that when you ask for water they give you small plastic bottles; considering it's so close to the beach you'd think they'd want to eliminate plastic waste. My boyfriend and I both ordered a side of extra crispy bacon which both were inconsistent. Mine was cooked perfectly and his was still kind of rubbery. The service was quick besides when it came time for our check which took way too long when it wasn't during a busy rush or anything. Would I go back? Maybe, just because you know what you're getting, but nothing super special.

Very nice location and the food was good too! Very nice casual breakfast spot that was great while I was visiting South Florida. The service was a bit slow the second time I came but the first time was quick especially since it was a Sunday morning.

They had so much variety in drink options. Some of their food items were out which is unfortunate BUT it comes to show how good their food is! Thats one part that made me take a start out though. I would hope they take note of what runs out to adjust to demand. The other reason is because some items are pre-made with bacon, which could be part of a dietary restriction, but they had turkey-bacon and turkey sausage which is considerate. The service was amazing though! They were so knowledgeable (they actually caught an ingredient i wouldnt want in one item based on other items i took it off of so they made sure to make me aware so i could take it off! So grateful!). They were also very quick to fulfill my order. I definitely recommend this place for tasty, aesthetically pleasing food.

The cafe is only two months old in the Cypress Creek Station shooping plaza, but heard the chatter on social media and had to drive a slight distance to also be part of the experience. A temporary simplistic Drip Coffee sign is affixed to the exterior of the business. Upon entering, the buzz of this cafe was accurate. The establishment spewed an ultra industrial modern intimate vibe with gray polished stone flooring with an open ceiling exposing the metal rafters and a/c tubing, accented by dark green ferns on the walls and tables. The laughter from five girls at a back table echoed throughout the cafe, which was a good start. The barista was chatty and all smiles while she took my order quickly with no hiccups. The Guatemalan dark roast espresso beans are sourced from PumpHouse Coffee in WPB. It was presented in a mini cup with the Drip Coffee logo imprint - this is such a simple inexpensive marketing tool that most cafes do not take advantage of. This is another cafe with a cashless tranaction process. Understandably, tipping is digital, but at the least there should be a tip jar as an option for cash. Found sanctuary at a table with a semi comfortable low stool. The Guatemalan coffee was strong and cut it with a shot of heavy cream. Usually I consume medium roast coffee, although this mimicked a few strong Austrian blends and was sublime and appreciated. The gender neutral bathroom screamed "WoW Impressive"! Instantly I pondered, the owners took their artistic vision to another level. Spotless, spotless, spotless, more greenery with thin wooden slats covering the ceiling and the low lit led hollow rough rock mirror hovered above the gray square deep sink. Washing my hands were more of a delight than a necessity. "Clean Bathroom = Clean Kitchen". No doubt that I will return to this eatery. Great coffee and a wonderful experience.

Before I ever tasted a single bean, the name stopped me cold. Calusa. A roaster bearing the name of…read morean Indigenous people -- the Calusa, the ancient shell-mound builders, the unconquered lords of South Florida's mangroves and waterways. People who never surrendered. People whose bones are folded into this very soil. As someone who walks through this world carrying Taíno blood and the memory of peoples whose names colonizers tried to erase, that word hit different. It wasn't a gimmick. It wasn't a logo. It was a declaration -- that this land has a story older than any espresso machine, and somebody here understood that. That understanding alone earned my curiosity and my respect before I'd even stepped through the door. "The name carried the weight of a people who never bent. That's the kind of legacy worth building a roastery around." Then I learned the story behind the man behind the roaster -- and it only deepened my respect. Luis Arteaga came home from serving in the United States Marine Corps and did what so many veterans do: he looked for work. No fanfare. No red carpet. Just a man with discipline in his bones and calluses on his hands, trying to find his next mission in a civilian world that doesn't always know what to do with people like that. He found his way to the original owners of Calusa Coffee Roasters. They saw in him what the Corps had always seen -- dependability, grit, and a willingness to learn. They gave him a job. A floor to stand on. And Luis did what Marines do -- he didn't just fill a position, he grew into something greater. Over time, through sweat and dedication and an unmistakable passion for the craft, he rose to become the owner of the very roastery that once took a chance on him. That's not a business story. That's an American story. A veteran's story. And it's exactly the kind of origin that makes a cup of coffee taste like something more than coffee. CALUSA COFFEE ROASTERS IS A SOUTH FLORIDA INSTITUTION Fast forward to today, and Calusa Coffee Roasters isn't just surviving -- it is a staple. Walk into the right cigar bar on a Friday evening and someone at the table will mention the name. Sit down at the right diner counter on a Tuesday morning and a regular will nod toward that familiar bag. In South Florida's rich, layered, cafecito-and-culture coffee landscape, that kind of word-of-mouth is earned over years of consistency, of showing up, of never letting the cup get small. Luis continues to build something that belongs to this community -- rooted in the terroir of a region as complex and layered as its people. The coffee is exceptional. Bold where it should be bold, nuanced where it earns it. The kind of roast that makes you sit down instead of rushing out. That's no accident. That's someone who respects the craft because he was forged in institutions that demand nothing less than your best. "When a Marine finds his mission in a roastery, every bag he puts his name on carries the same standard -- do it right or don't do it at all." Meeting Luis was one of those moments I didn't expect to move me the way it did. We are both moving through the coffee world trying to build something that means something -- something rooted in identity, in service, in the belief that what's in the cup should tell a story worth hearing. And here was a fellow Marine who had walked a road I recognize: uncertain ground, earned footing, and a refusal to quit. And finally, if you are in South Florida and you have not made the pilgrimage to Calusa Coffee Roasters on Commercial Blvd, you are overdue. Go for the coffee -- stay for the story. And if you're lucky enough to meet the man himself, shake his hand. He earned it in more ways than one. To Luis Arteaga and everyone at Calusa: thank you for carrying a name that honors this land. Thank you for honoring the service that shaped you. And thank you for a cup of coffee that carries the weight of all of it without spilling a drop. Semper Fi, brother. Keep roasting.
