Since our friend recommended this place to us, we haven't been able to stop going!! Yellowtail is a hidden gem sushi place in Pearland that is soooooo good! The staff are so nice and friendly and they the vibes are just great inside! We have tried soo many of their rolls, which are always super fresh and flavorful. Some of my favorites are the spicy salmon roll, Houston roll, and unagi futomaki. They give huge portions of fish in their rolls and they just taste soooo good. They have great flavors and they are definitely a staple sushi place for us. We have also tried their cold noodles, which were soooo tasty and full of flavor. I love that it comes without broth and just has such delicious flavors. This was our first time here. Let's start with the ramen. The ramen couldn't be anymore bland. I got the spicy miso ramen and it was so bland even when I added the chili pepper. We did wait a normal amount of time even though we were the only ones in here (15-20 mins?). The broth wasn't even one bit spicy and the egg was cold! The chicken was even slightly cold. My partner got the original tonkutsu ramen and he said the same thing. The only good thing was the spider roll! The sauce was amazing on the spider roll. The sushi here is really good. We almost always start with the Brussels sprouts (crispy and the sauce is delicious!). I was craving some ramen noodles and had seen this place recommended on my Yelp homepage previously. The restaurant is a tad bit small but we were able to find seating pretty quickly. I ordered the spicy ramen and miso soup which were both very delicious and reasonably priced. Our waiter was good and checked in on us frequently and also gave us a run down of their new menu. First time visiting here, and we were honestly delightfully surprised by this local gem! We got a chicken teriyaki bento box, 1 piece of uni, and a black tonkatsu ramen. The chicken teriyaki was only ok, but I did enjoy the veggie tempura that came included in the bento box. The uni had a nice smoky flavor, and my husband really enjoyed his ramen. This is the first time that I got to dine in and eat. It has a nice cozy traditional Japanese ramen store vibe and I liked the place but the only issue was the slowness of service. It may be short handed but it took forever to get our food. We ordered simple veggie rolls, sweet potato roll, cucumber salad and veggie ramen. Ramen came first after 15 mins of waiting but the sushi and cucumber salad took forever like nearly 50 mins and no orders for them so we left after having a bowl of noodles Twas a good one but I could say that they could reduce a little bit of saltiness. Definitely improve the serving speed tho. My friends were excited about veggie rolls and sweet potato rolls but never came... First off, this family owned restaurant is fantastic. Chef is a New York trained veteran. My gf and I have now been 4 times recently. We have eaten sushi everywhere in Houston, New York and California. Yellowtail is some of the best we have ever had. This place is a Gem, the staff are extremely kind and the service has been impeccable every visit. The Lychee tea is absolutely fantastic. The nigiri here is top notch, also the pork jowl yakitori is a must. We have eaten at MF, Uchi, Ume, Tins... Yellow tail is just as good if not better. We are super lucky to have this place in Pearland. We can't wait to go back and do the Omakase. If more people knew about this place, this place would stay packed and you would need reservations days or weeks ahead of time. The service was spectacular! This mall but mighty restaurant is worth every penny! We were greeted when we walked in by the chefs and waiters. They sat us quickly and served us water with lemon. As we browsed the menu we quickly saw favorites and new items we haven't had so we ordered the spicy tuna, California rolls as my niece loves those. We also ordered the cucumber salad which was quick easy and light for a refreshing appetizer. We then ordered the houston roll, caterpillars roll and the mango go go roll which were new for us but out of this world delicious! This is a small and quaint sushi place in West Pearland/288 Area. It's modest and informal. The decor is nice and welcoming. Service was very nice. The older woman waiting on us was very accommodating. As for the food: The Calamari was delicious. Not a huge portion, but tasted great with the japanese spice on it. We also had the spicy brussell sprouts. They were also tasty. The taste was unusual when I first tasted it but I wanted to eat more of it as I ate. We got 4 rolls (mango roll, Houston Roll, crazy something roll and the roll that they mark as the spiciest). All of them were very good. This place has some more unusual flavors in addition to the traditional ones. This is part of what attracted me to come here. The spicy one was very spicy, so be warned if you don't like that kind of thing. This is a recommend if you like sushi. I will definitely be back. read more

I stopped by Yellowtail Sushi & Ramen for dinner on a Tuesday. Located in the same shopping center as TJ's Filipino Cuisine, parking won't be an issue. Yellowtail reminds me of restaurants in Japan. It's a small and narrow restaurant. Good times. I was initially impressed with their menu but opted for no sushi this time around. We started off with the Japanese Fried Chicken Bites which are essentially breaded chicken tenders with a Japanese twist. Not bad by any means, a little oily, but so-so overall. From there I went with the Tonkotsu Ramen. This is your traditional pork broth ramen and it was served with the usual accompaniments including noodles, pork chasu, nori, an egg, and scallions. I have had some good ramen in my day so there's a certain standard I'm expecting. The broth was not flavorful enough to live up to this standard. Like the Japanese Fried Chicken, just so-so. While the restaurant is nice and I liked the decor, the food did not impress. Service was solid. read more

BEST SUSHI IN TOWN I went here for lunch and was GREAT! This place was clean and the atmosphere was perfect with a great staff. The food here tasted quality above other places I've tried and I definitely recommend the Initial D sushi roll, Japanese fried chicken for appetizers, and the Brisket ramen. They also have a daily special menu which is what available fresh fish they have that day for nigiri or sashimi if you are a fan. We've had a few new places open in the last month. The most recent being Yellowtail. They're currently running through their soft opening so a large portion of the menu isn't available. In the menu pics, only the green highlighted items are currently available as of 7/3. I showed up at opening this evening, but they're out of Ramen until Tuesday. That was a bummer. Walking in, the facility is absolutely spotless. The staff were super attentive, that may have been due to the fact that I was the only person there at the time. Yay me :) I wasn't able to try a lot of what I wanted to, simply because of soft opening and the such. Salmon was on the menu today. $10 gives you three pieces of sake sashimi. It was good. The portions were decent sized, not generous, but the usual. Their signature rolls are mostly cooked, which I don't fancy all that much. When I eat sushi, I like most of it to be raw. I did try the sunrise roll. It was very good. 5 of 5 as far as cooked rolls go. I also tried the Houston role, since it was ok be of the relationship overly few with all raw fishies. This is a classic roll, so nothing fancy. Solid 4 of 5. Overall, I liked the spot. I will be back to try the full menu. Hoping to have more of the things I was hoping to try today. There were some hiccups, like power going out, and the cars machine was down for a bit. But that's expected during soft opening. Gotta work out the kinks. Before tip, three items had me at $37, so it's relatively average on cost. I didn't see anything about a happy hour, but that may be in the works once they're fully up and going. Of all of our new joints opening, this has potential to rival my favorite sushi in the land of Pears. We'll try again when they're at peak operations and see how we do. read more

I was impressed with the food that I received from Yellowtail Sushi & Ramen. The Nigiri was amazing, fresh and buttery. I had 3 rolls, Houston, Super Shaggy, and I can't remember the last one, however they were all delicious. I got my order to go and with that being said, I only received one small container of spicy mayo and very little wasabi and zero ginger. Next time I will eat there and ask for more wasabi and spicy mayo. The service was great even though it was one Lady taking orders and serving whatever was asked of her, she was amazing. I see why they close at 2:30 and open back up at 4 or 5. The restaurant itself was nice and clean and the vibe was cool too. They play a video on a large screen that transports you right into the heart of Japan. I enjoyed being there so I will definitely dine inside next time. Enjoy. read more

Yellowtail Sushi & Ramen is literally a hidden gem. Their location is hidden from the main road, so if you never drive down Country Place you would never know they existed. They have THE BEST and FRESHEST nigiri/sashimi in Pearland. Certain pieces are imported from Japan (no one else in Pearland does this) The masu salmon melts in your mouth. The amaebi shrimp was amazing, the heads are lightly fried. They have the best eel sushi as well. It comes out slightly warm and crisp, never had anything like it. All sushi pieces are sliced on the larger side. If you frequent Uchi or Kata Robata, this place is for you! You would appreciate this. If you don't eat sushi, their ramen is solid. My go to is the original tonkotsu. Highly recommend this restaurant! Check their website for hours because they are closed on certain days and times. read more

My wife and I stumbled upon this restaurant accidentally on Christmas Eve, and we are so glad we did! We first noticed the ambiance and design -- we loved the modern, sleek, simple Interior. Everything was spotless -- including the restrooms. Service was polite, prompt, and helpful. My wife was craving ramen, so she went with the Original Tonkotsu and an Alaska Roll. Both were delicious, full of flavor, and very well-balanced. I have an affinity for tempura shrimp, so I went with the Palm Springs Roll and a set of Maguro, Sake, and Hamachi nigiri. Outstanding! The presentation of the Palm Springs Roll was gorgeous, and we loved the nigiri so much we ordered a second round. Extraordinarily fresh and assembled to perfection.
