Kami Ramen is my go to for ramen in Pearland. It was so convenient for me when I lived in the area. I've done take out and delivery (Door Dash and Uber Eats), however I have never dined in. I've had the Curry Chicken Ramen and Kami Chicken Ramen which are both delicious! The broth is so flavorful and rich with the umami flavor. The Curry Chicken is breaded which is different. I've never had breaded chicken in ramen before. I was a little unsure about the breading in the broth, but it surprisingly stayed pretty crispy. Of course when I ate the leftovers the next day, the breading was a bit more soggy, but the flavor was so prominent (as I always say, ramen tastes better the next day). They have a lot of ingredients and toppings that can be added to your ramen. Most of the veggies cost an extra $1 while protein options are an extra $4-$6. I always add cilantro because I love it so much. The only appetizer that I have tried is the Chicken Karaage. It was fine, but it wasn't as good as the chicken karaage at Jinya IMO. I did like the dipping sauce. The Pork Gyoza looks good, but I have not had a chance to try it yet. Can't help but think some of the rolls were pre maid ahead of time. Common items like rainbow roll the tuna was actually dry and curled up on edges. Only one of the three rolls was apparently fresh as unlike the other two the sushi was cold and appeared fresh but it was a common roll Like the California or Rainbow so possibly it was made to order. Kami was one of the worst ramen experiences I've ever had. I ordered the chicken ramen and my friend got the tonkotsu, and we've never had ramen this bad. My chicken ramen was overwhelmed with garlic to the point where it was hard to eat, and the broth and noodles were completely bland otherwise. I couldn't even finish it I would honestly rather eat instant noodles. I had high hopes because the pictures online looked great, but this is definitely a case where looks can be deceiving. I decided to try this spot since my favorite noodle place, Nam Noodle, recently closed in my area. We ordered the shrimp fried rice, ramen noodles with added steak and broccoli, the Shaggy Dog roll (shrimp tempura with crab meat), and the pork bun. The fried rice was amazing, and the noodle bowl was delicious--I especially appreciated how well it was packed to go. The Shaggy Dog roll was flavorful and definitely a highlight. The pork bun, however, wasn't really my preference; I didn't care for the doughy bun texture. The total came out to about $60, with each item priced under $20. The restaurant itself is small but has a welcoming atmosphere, and it's actually a shared space with another restaurant, which was interesting. My only complaint would be the stinginess with the yum yum sauce--they gave such a small portion and expected it to be shared. Came here for dinner with my family. We did not know they were connected to Edo Sushi AYCE. Connected kitchen and bar but the restaurant is split by a wall. We asked if my sister can do the sushi AYCE and we do the ramen, but they said no. Only can order single sushi items on the menu. We can sit on the AYCE side but not order the ramen there unless we order on Kami and take it over to Edo. Very confusing, So we stayed at the kami side. I ordered the chashu bento box and they brought a katsu bento out. So I had to wait another 15 mins for my box to come out. I was last to get food. The ramen came out within 5 mins. The teriyaki bento took a while longer. The pork belly bun was very good. The black tonkotsu ramen was pretty bland and you can tell the broth is not the creamy color. The ramen wasn't hot either. The chashu in the ramen was tough. Egg overcook. My chashu bento box was very tender and good tasting. The boiled egg was super overcooked. The biggest fail here was there was a HAIR in my salad. it was quite annoying. They took it away and then came back and asked if I wanted another salad. Of course I do. I barely got to eat mine. Our bill was fully charged. We ended up keeping the katsu bento (the mistake dish) since my niece had touched it. My chasu bento was charged even though The salad had the hair (I think that's quite unusual). We got automatic gratuity with 6 people which may be their standard. But considering they messed up twice on our dishes, grat should not be auto. With the multiple mistakes, avg service and below avg ramen, we prob won't visit again. read more

Decent Japanese food in the burbs for ramen and other traditional rice plates. Plenty of booth and table seating inside. It was fairly empty early evening on a Monday...maybe cause it was a holiday. Very clean. Our waiter, Andreas, was nice and attentive. He checked in every so often. There was a sign at the front that you get a free Thai tea when you show your Yelp review. We ended up with two by accident. The Thai tea wasn't over steeped, grainy, or too sweet. The ice didn't seem to water it down throughout the meal either. I will first start off with the place was clean and the customer service was great. Now I favor another ramen spot but when I have a craving and do not feel like making the drive this will do. We had the pork gyoza which were nice and crispy. I believe I had the spicy miso ramen (late review so forgot the name). The noodles were cooked well and the bowl was full of the including toppings which were corn, mushroom, and shoots. The meat was ground pork, however there was not that much in my bowl and it did not have that much pork flavor. The broth was just okay I didn't get the creamy Tonkotsu Flavor I am use too or the umami of miso. I preferred my husbands ramen bowl but I forgot the name as well. He had more meat and the flavor of the broth was better. Also We didn't get the marinated egg bc I couldn't eat any raw foods at the time and they did not have an option for the egg to be cooked well done; they pre make them. Finally, Pearland (north) has its own ramen joint! I've been waiting for this since I moved here. And the time has come. The place is brand spankin' new. Literally opened in the last week or so. Everything happens when I'm out of town. One of my friends in the area has been twice already. So let's get to it. I came in on a Friday evening circa 8pm, solo. They have a couple of chairs at the bar, but I was not offered one and didn't see anyone sitting at them. It's a small spot in the back, so it's likely better to get the table, so I got on the list for one. 20 minute wait or so. The staff were very friendly and courteous. There isn't a ton of seating, so it isn't a bustling area, even when all tables are taken. You definitely have space here. I started with the Pork Belly Bun. This was a 3 of 5. The pork belly was basically the same thinness of the chashu in the ramen. The cucumber was thicker, than the pork belly. The flavors you get were bun, sauce and cucumber. I'm pretty sure it would be fantastic if it was a thicker slice of roasted pork belly. The slight amount of meat for this was cold, and not flavorful. I also ordered the karaage, but it came out after my ramen. It doesn't get a fair shake, because it missed it's time to shine. But even so, it was good, and it was hot (which not everything was). I'd go with a 4 of 5. I would have preferred more flavor, and also add options to add spice to it. It came with "spicy" mayo, but that mayo taste overpowered the chicken and I didn't use it after the first try. For the main event, I ordered the Tonkotsu Black Ramen, with an extra egg, brussel sprouts and seaweed. There could have been a wee more bit of broth, you can see in the picture all of the toppings are above the waterline on dry land. The noodles and the broth were hot, which is good. BUT the pork and the brussel sprouts were not. That was a bummer. The brussel sprouts were cooked, but not charred, there was a little browning. That may be intended, but my preference is a bit more carbon on the outside to add flavor to the pork broth. Same with the chashu. Like in the bun, the pork was very thinly sliced, and cold. There was chew to what little fat was on it. I prefer roasted pork belly to fall apart and flavors to melt and mingle. At the very least, to add some roasty pork flavor. The broth alone was good, I might add some garlic and a wee bit of spice next time. All in all, a good showing for opening week. I'll be back again to try more things. My friend thinks the chicken broth beats the pork, so I have to give it a shot too. will update afterwards. read more

I have been anxiously awaiting for this place to open for a while now so I came to check it out the first chance I got. Unfortunately I don't think this place is going to live up to the hype. The broth was rich without being overly salty and there was a good portion of noodles. But the noodle texture was closer to plain pasta noodles than typical ramen. The tonkatsu Black has corn in it and the corn just doesn't go well with the broth for me. The service was great even for being as busy as it was Overall it was just kinda meh. If you're craving ramen and don't feel like driving into town and willing to pay a couple extra bucks for it this will do. Anyways, I Love the way they separate the dry goods and broth. The packaging is beautiful. I felt both times, the broth was flavorless. I had to add my own seasonings to spruce it up. They also skimp on proteins so if you love your meats, be sure to do an add on. This will off course bring your bowl cost closer to $15-20 range. To me, that's a wee bit steep for not so tasty Ramen. Finally, a ramen place graces this part of town! We had hyped ourselves up for this and managed to make it for lunch this weekend. Walked in to a pretty busy restaurant but were able to get a table quickly. Service is pretty quick though the food itself took a minute to come out. Maybe that's a good sign that things are made more fresh. We opted for the tonkatsu with a side of broccoli. Right off the bat the bowl looks pretty decent. Filled to the top and all the toppings looking good. The broth is flavorful and rich. And that's about it for me. The charshu was cold and a little tough, the noodles didn't have that bite to it and were a little soggy, and everything else was just average. That little side of broccoli was barely heated up as it was still very crunchy. Nor did it have any seasoning at all. Fair enough it was meant to go inside the bowl but I wanted it separate for the little one. Been craving ramen and since this place is new I wanted to try it out! My boyfriend and I came here about the dinner time (6pm ish) and saw that they had a few tables occupied. After we ordered, we sat waiting for about 15-20 minutes for our food and our waiter actually brought everything over all at once. He apologized saying that some how the ramen got done at the same time the gyoza was also done. The gyoza was good, nothing really special. The ramen was not bad. i had ordered the Chicken ramen and my boyfriend ordered the shoyu pork ramen. Our waiter didn't come by so we had to ask another waitress/hostess for some hot chili oil/paste to up the spice level. They brought out a small plate with some chili paste and I dumped the entire thing in my ramen because it really was not spicy at all. That definitely tasted so much better. During the entire meal, the waiter didn't come by to check on us, refill our water cups and it sounded like the table behind me who he was also serving had the same issue with wanting more water/soda but they didn't see him anywhere. He had disappeared and we saw an older asian waiter and the hostess walking around the floor. We were ready to pay and the hostess really didn't look around after she sat at the front counter. The Asian guy was also pretty narrowly focused on cleaning up his set of tables and we didn't see our waiter anywhere. I called over to the hostess to ask for a dessert menu, just to see what they had, but I didn't see anything I wanted, the Asian guy (waiter) walked by so I called over to him and gave him my card saying I wanted to pay the bill and he handed my card to the hostess and she looked over asking if the card was mine and I said yes, I' wanted to pay. She printed my receipt and used my card to pay and then gave it back. Overall, service was mediocre, food was good and the space was good to also for large groups of 6-8 or couples for dinner. I hope they improve service and get their staff properly trained to look around and be aware of guests regardless if they're in the section and be prompt to check on guest. read more

This was our first time here. It looks like it is connected to another restaurant that I definitely plan to visit. There was plenty of free parking. We were able to get a table without waiting. It's a small cozy place with tables and booths and even a small bar. The waiter was friendly. We specifically went there for Ramen. The menu has many Ramen options. We ordered the Kami Chicken Ramen bowl with chicken broth and a Shrimp Avocado roll. The bowl came with chicken, spinach, green onions, fried onions, marinated egg, and carrots. We added mushrooms and that was an extra charge. The bowl was full of all the ingredients. The broth was amazing with so much flavor. Of course the noodles definitely added to the dish especially when mixed with the vegetables. I couldn't really eat the chicken. There were several pieces of chicken so I was sad it wasn't very good. Nope. Won't be going back. I am a big guy that likes to eat. I walked out leaving a full bowl of ramen minus half a egg, a few bites of noodle, and a piece or two of pork. I have never left this much food on the table cause it was gross. The broth tasted like charred nothing. No seasoning, no flavor nothing. The pork chasu tasted like just seared meat. Everything was cooked right in terms of execution meaning nothing over or under cooked, but the flavor was awful. I came in because i saw they and the sushi place next door were now open for business. I asked someone walking out what they thought and they said it was good. Wrong. Jinya isn't the best i am sure but when comparing the two this is absolute trash. We tried out their Tonkotsu black ramen, which was pretty good. There were some little quirks though with our experience. We had ordered Thai tea with less ice, but it was full of ice, and much less of the actual drink. Also, the thick noodles we requested for the ramen were actually not that thick. I think Jinya does their ramen better. My friend ordered the beef teriyaki and I felt bad for him. The beef looked like a frozen dinner and supposedly it was tough. Service is also a little slower as less wait staff although it was a weekend. Ambience is casual. read more
