THANK YOU!!!!!!! On the advice of every travel blog of what to do in Vancouver, I decided to rent a bike and ride around the seawall. I have not been bike riding since I was a teenager. My nerves were a little shaky to say the least. As I left the Aquarium I asked my cab driver to drop me off at a bike rental place on Georgia. That's how I found Yes Cycle (no extensive research involved). As I arrived there were other newbies outside about to take off. One lady had a tandem bike, with no partner. Lol we wished each other luck. $7 for the first hour. And believe it or not, I came back at exactly an hour on the dot. Large selection of bikes. Mine was a cute lavender color 3 speed. They need more large helmets lol. I have a big head and alot of hair. We found one that would suffice with the warning "uh, just don't fall" lol. Everyone was really helpful and friendly. So yeah, the first block of my bike riding experience was tragic. I almost fell twice. Then you get on the seawall and the experienced riders kept passing me and making me nervous. I was a ball of nerves. I had the bright idea to ride a bike in sandals...... I told yall I am new to this. So..... As I'm getting the hang of it, a roller blader in front of me falls. I get freaked out, kick my legs out, my shoe flies off and I break my toenail. This gave me the chance to snap a few pictures lol. I rode Barefoot the rest of the way. The staff was friendly, informative, and efficient in getting us set up with bikes. Shortly after we set out, one in our party got a flat, and this is where the stars start to fall. After calling the shop, an employee was sent out to meet us. I had assumed that another bike would be brought out, traded, and we'd be on our way. Wrong. Because they had no other bikes if that size in the shop (no big deal - a large group had departed just before us), the employee swapped a tire from the bike he rode to the bike with a flat. This process took far longer than it should have. Eventually, we suggested that we ride back and trade bikes. All told, this process took about 45 minutes. The staff was kind enough to reset our time from when we left the shop the second time, so our costs were adjusted appropriately, but it was frustrating to watch the employee struggle with what should have been a simple swap, while minutes of our day ticked away. read more

Rented bicycles for a ride around Stanley Park. Despite a short line, we got our bikes and helmets very quickly and were on our way. The bikes were in good condition, and the rental rates were very affordable. I'm only giving it 3 stars because of the extremely disorganized return process. When we returned, one employee told us to put our bikes next to the building. Then another told us to put our bikes closer to the sidewalk, so we moved them. I paid for our bikes inside, and then we walked out of the store. When we were a few blocks away, an employee chased us down and asked if we had paid. I told him I had, but I had paid cash, so I was not given a receipt. He kept asking questions, clearly not believing me. Apparently he and the other employee who were responsible for the bike returns hadn't been communicating with each other or the cashiers, and he didn't think that I'd paid. Not sure if it's because we were tourists or because I was a young woman out with my three teenaged siblings, but he genuinely seemed to think I was skipping out on the bill. He finally let us go, but being treated like a thief really put a damper on the rest of the day. read more

Just what we needed for a bike ride around Stanley Park! There's plenty of competition in the area, but Yes Cycle offers friendly, fast service and competitive rates for rentals ($7/hr for any bike, with it getting cheaper the longer you rent). High quality bikes, plus they supply a lock and helmets. We got there at around 10am on a weekend day, expecting chaos, but were in and out with our bikes in less than ten minutes. Returning the bike was even easier, though later in the afternoon they were notably busy. Take advantage of the free parking in the garage below! We had the best time. Returning them was quick and easy and the young man that helped us both renting and returning them couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and accommodating. Since I am a beginner and have not been on a bike for years. They got me a white bike, so cute and with three speeds. Provided us with helmets, baskets, and a lock. This is all included with the price. There is a law in Vancouver when riding bike must have helmet on. Safety first. They had a special 4 Hours/Day for $20 dollars. My friend had an issue with the seat of her bike and we rode back. The staff helped with all the adjustments and we rode back into the park. Bikes are in great condition. Staff are so knowledgeable and will give instructions on the right bike for you. They also rent roller blades too. read more

Great service! We arrived early on a Sunday morning (10am) and was able to rent the last electric bike. They go fast! And the store currently only has 10. We were also able to connect a chariot to the electric bike which made towing the little one more efficient and less work for us. They have a great selection of different kinds of bikes - road, electric, hybrid, kids, and tandem. The price includes helmet, optional basket and lock. Great deal! The four star is because they didn't have a small enough helmet to fit our 2 year old so she was a bit uncomfortable with the bigger helmet. We travelled around Stanley Park and it was perfect. It was a very beautiful morning to go on a bike ride! I haven't ridden a bike in so long but Ashley, one of the Yes Cycle tour guides, was very reassuring. When I first got on the bike I was wobbly, but after a while it just got easier! I've only been to Stanley Park once during a visit to Vancouver, and this tour showed me other sights that I had totally missed from my last visit! On our bike tour we had time to stop and take pictures of the First Nations totem poles. I don't know how I missed them the last time I was here! My favorite part of the bike tour was going through the rainforest area! It was serene, beautiful and magical! I wanted to take so many selfies with the cedar trees! Time flies when you're having fun and indeed we had fun on our bicycle tour with Yes Cycle! Ashley and Katie were great showing different landmarks and telling us the histories. Easy, quick, relatively, and inexpensive place to rent bikes for your trip into Stanley park. We walked into the park and after seeing all the bikes and realizing the size of the sea wall (and only allocating a few hours) we walked back out to get bikes. Got 2 bikes , a basket for our bag, and we were on our way. Took us an hour to go around at a leisurely pace, stopping for a few pics along the way. Highly recommend! read more

There are tons of places to rent bikes in Vancouver. They seem to be everywhere.....but after doing a bit of research on line, we opted for this place, Great Bike fees are on a sliding scale..... $7/hr (1st hour), $6 (2nd hour), $5 (third hour), $4 (4th hour), etc. Staff were efficient and explained the basics to you (in Vancouver you cannot ride a bicycle on a sidewalk (they must be "walked" while on city sidewalks)..and you must wear a helmet), adjusted the height of our seats...gave us our helmets ..and off exploring we went. Bikes were cruisers, meant for streets or paved areas (not mountain bike shocks) and did not possess the most comfortable of seats (it may take days to recover from the intimate relationship we developed....lol), but well worth the price. It's a great way to explore the sea wall and Stanley Park. Will be going back again as its a great way to explore the city. read more

No laborious bike inspections or safety "talks", just put on your helmet and go. Stanley Park is about 60 seconds from their front door. Cheap and fun! There must be at least a half of dozen bike rental places on Denmen Street. But if you're not too picky, and you are on a budget, Yes Cycle is your place. 2 bikes + 1.5 hours = tons of fun...for roughly $9. I'm not kidding. It was super easy (don't let the line intimidate you..it moves fast) and they only charge you when you get back. Cheaper then a cocktail and better for you! ** Tip!! ** Ride across Lions Gate Bridge!! It's biker friendly and has amazing panoramic views! read more

We were on our way to Spokes and someone handed us coupons for this place - located kitty corner from Spokes. The prices were much more reasonable and the service was great. Albeit they don't offer as many bike selections as Spokes but if you are just renting a bike for a couple of hours who cares? I had to try several bikes given my height and the staff was extremely patient in helping me find the right one. Easy pickup/return process. read more

Yes Cycle was open before every other bike shop on Sunday when I rented my bike to ride around Stanley Park. They made easy and quick to get on the bike of my choice and get riding. Only 2 short blocks from Stanley park. They also provide my helmet and bike lock as part of the rental. When I asked if I can carry water on my bike, they gave a bottle of water for free! The bike I chose was a 3 speed with internal shifting. It was a smooth ride and a great bike to use in the park. When I came back it was and cheaper than I thought. This place is AWESOME! I chose this place over their competition on price alone. The $7.00 per hour (single) and $14.00 per hour (tandem) was the lowest around. Once we showed up, the family was outfitted with helmets, bikes, and locks within ten minutes. They also adjusted the seat levels for everyone, which was nice. The only thing they didn't have for us was a basket, which wasn't a biggie because I had a backpack. Had I made a reservation, then there would have been a basket. Also need to mention that each bike had a water bottle holder and the bikes were in excellent condition mechanically as well as visually. They charged me once the bikes were returned, and pro-rate partial hours, which is great. Staff were wonderful and we will use them again next time we visit Vancouver. read more

Thanks for being our evening recreational saviour, Yes Cycle! I'll admit, I never considered Yes Cycle simply because Spokes is more convenient to where I normally park. It's right across the street, I know, but it's a busy intersection! When Spoke turned my group and I down because they were closing shop, Yes Cycle took us in and provided us with rentals. Two cruisers, one tandem along with four helmets and we were set on journey around Lord Stanley's park. No complaints about the cruisers, but the tandem bike could use some work. Admittedly, the handling required some getting used, however, the brakes were nearing the end of its life. Every time I used them, a shrill shriek was emitted; definitely not the most enjoyable sound to embrace while riding around the sea wall. Staff members are friendly and the prices are $3-5 cheaper than its adjacent competitor (Spokes), but I would advise double-checking the working condition of your bike before riding off into the sunset. read more

Just as my tip said, they have free parking in the underground! This was probably one of the biggest factors as to why we ended up choosing this place to rent our bikes around the seawall. The bikes were good quality, well kept, it was a mid summer day so it was pretty busy. Their staff are a bit of the younger generation, likely international students or university students so their customer service could use a little work but it wasn't terrible. Great prices for a quick stroll around Stanley park, I think their best rate would be for 3 hours and they charge in 15 min increments after that - we were maybe 15 minutes late but they didn't end up charging extra so they were pretty chill. read more

This is a great location at the start of bike lanes to Stanley Park. The bikes we rented were brand new and super smooth ride. But what really stood out was the service. We arrived early on a Sunday and because it had not gotten busy, Austin had time to be super friendly. Austin gave us a tour guide preview of stops in Stanley Park, tips for the Ride, and gladly answered our questions. He even gave us a great recommendation for a Ramen restaurant nearby - Kintaro. Any business that I review that provides the services as they should be provided will get four stars. Yes cycle had great customer service, they had excellent prices, provided great value for money. The bikes were in very good condition and the charge for the bike for the entire day was $25. This included the bike, a helmet, a lock, a basket, and a map. They were very busy but they were quick to serve me when I got my bike, and very quick to take the bike back when I returned it. This is a consumer friendly business. read more

For $25 a day ($30 with a $5 off coupon), they outfitted us with a hybrid bike per person and free helmet + lock. I think they do keep their bikes in relatively good shape, ensure it's safe for riding. I would definitely rent from them again, they are not the most expensive, nor the cheapest on the block. I like to stick to the middle ground and their shop got my business. I wish they'd offer a repeat customer discount though. read more

Best bike rental experience I've ever had. The Yelp reviews were right. Such friendly service and affordable prices. Rentals start at $8 an hour for bikes and go down a dollar each hour with a max charge of 30 something for the day. One of our bikes got stolen while locked up with the locks provided by YES Cycles. YES CYCLES does not provide insurance for stolen rented bikes, nor do they inform their guests that this is the case upon hiring the bike. They charged us $500 for a 'lost' bike - They also had no idea which bike we had rented so were unable to provide us with the details of the bike so we could provide them to the police for the report we also had to file. Also if we had not informed them the bike was stolen there is no way they would have known we were the ones who had not returned a bike as they had no record of which bike we took. Totally disorganised, and unfair way to run a rental store. Go somewhere else! read more
