I ended up buying this pair of cute white "Ripcurl" shorts and comfy "Gentle Fawn" tank top. They were both 40% less than the retail price. There's also a whole rack of bikinis and swimsuits right now in case you wanted to update your swimwear. The only downside is that the items are from last season's or older. However, if you are willing to dig, you can find some really great gems. The cashier was also really sweet and came over from behind the counter to play with my dog. I'm a sucker for people who are good to my dog. =)

But all the name brands like Billabong, Roxy, Volcom, Quicksilver are way cheaper at Fun in the Sun on 4th. The setup is easy, just racks and rows of clothing including jeans, bathing suits, board shorts, dresses, and hoodies. They also carry flip flops, belts, wallets, purses and some shoes. Pretty good hidden gem with the selection they had (bonus 25% off red tags too!) Definitely worth taking your brother or boyfriend to as the woman's stuff has been picked through. Racks of men's shirts, hoodies and board shorts. ** Update** Found out yesterday that they ONLY do exchanges. There is No store credit or refund. so be super sure you want what you buy!!

Of the many board shops in this area I walked into this one first. I was coming from out of town…read moreand looking for a whole new setup including a snowboard, bindings, boots and bag. When I walked in I felt out of place as most beginner snowboarders probably would feel. It just looked like a small, cramped board shop to me but compared to the other places, I'd take that over the stuffy, boutique type of shops the others seemed to be. Jess at West Coast was very helpful asking me questions to better hone in on what type of equipment would best suit me. She was super informative and didn't pressure me to commit to purchasing anything. In fact, she even told me to go to the other shops in the area to compare equipment and pricing. Pretty ballsy but it made me feel at ease right away. I went to all the other shops and no one made me feel comfortable about being there. Very few questions and assistance. Instead it almost felt like they were uptight because I may not have looked like a typical snowboarder. Needless to say I went back to West Coast and bought the lot, about $1500 worth of equipment. Then I put it to use going up to Whistler the next four days and loved every second of it. The board (Bataleon Goliath) performed great and my feet felt perfect throughout every run. Lastly, I would've given them 5 stars but the person helping my girlfriend with her ski boots was unknowledgeable and not a very big help to her. If you do go to this place go see Jess. There was another Aussie guy behind the counter that was giving his input and helping me out as well but I didn't catch his name. Mahalo, K

We did the entire 'snowboard alley' of W 4th and this place had by far the best deals. Not only were the prices better to begin with, they also carried more classic styles and colours in jackets and pants that suited my friend's fashion tastes. The staff were really helpful picking out a snowboard that was a great price, European-made and would last him for years. The graphics were pretty sweet, too. The board was freshly waxed and they set it up with the bindings in-store. In addition to already low prices and some sale items, the staff cut my friend a deal since he was buying a bunch of gear. It was the cherry on top! This shop also has non-snow-related sporting gear on the second floor.

I'm a light commuter that has slowly been increasing my road time over the last few years. For that…read morepurpose, I ended up getting a great little road bike 3.5 years ago, which I perform basic, basic (I stress basic) maintenance on every week or so. Two years back, I took my bike in before the season start for a tune up and assessment. The mechanics told me that my drive train was worn out, and would likely need replacing in the coming year. For financial reasons, I held off, and figured I'd just beg to the bike gods, and stretch my luck. However, in the last month or so, my gears started slipping, making some funny grinding noises, and to the untrained eye, didn't look like they were in the greatest shape. Sadly, I surmised that my trusty stead had had enough, and pretty soon, my sad bank account would feel the burn. I figured it couldn't hurt to have someone look at it, maybe adjust the gears, and give me a ballpark as to how long it'd last, and the potential cost of a new drive train. That's where Ride On came in. At random, I rolled into their shop, where the lovely gent at the service area had my bike up on the stand in less than 5 minutes. Another 5 minutes later, after performing some bike magic in front of my eyes, he declared that the bike was good to go. I was flabbergasted! SO SOON? He smiled and told me he had tightened up the gears, and that they should run smoothly from now on. Before finishing up, I sheepishly told him that I'd been previously told that the drive train probably needed a change soon, and if I could please have a price quote. He pulled out a tool, had a good look at my bike, and declared that the chain, and it's corresponding parts were in decent shape, and he couldn't foresee my needing a replacement any time soon. COLOUR ME BLOWN AWAY. I think I even muttered.... "wait.... what??", to which he reassured me that the condition in total looked fine. I mean, I'm absolutely sure I look full on bike naive, and if you'd told me that i needed a new chain, I think I'd have stupidly thrown my money at him. But this fantastic gent just smiled, and said everything was looking good. I'm glad I didn't embarrass him by leaking happy tears because I am so infinitely grateful for the honesty. No up selling, no drawing out the service, no lying, just good, honest, and kind service. I would not hesitate to return, and will return for all my biking needs. Thank you bike angel.
