Westside Ski Bike Board shop is the best shop in town. They provide great friendly service and expert advice for skiing and biking equipment. Steve fitted my new ski boots and provided great guidance on my Trek mountain bike, based on my needs/use. They are still providing skis tune-up and service until end of May. read more

Loved how nice & knowledgeable Jacob was with by snowboard boot fitting! And loved how they had parking behind the store. (Walk around to the front) Make sure you don't park in the Romer parking though. Although I didn't find my ideal boots this time with them (end of the season sale = slim pickings), will visit them again the next time I'm looking for something. read more

Service is extremely variable between assistants and on the whole poor. Base coating seems to be ok, not sure about how sharp edges are but very expensive and there are other options for less that also pick up and deliver. would suggest trying somewhere else first. read more

Update - Westside has moved to a new venue at 4th and Burrard. The store is at least 2x bigger than before and has a much better layout. Fantastic selection of ski boots, as well as some interesting brands of skis that are relatively hard to find. Lots of nice helmets as well. I bought a pair of boots and they did a great job of finding the right boot, and working on it until they fit perfectly. I have very tricky feet for ski boots, so I'm very happy to finally have a new pair. read more

Service here has gone down. I used to get my board serviced here before and called in to see if they would just edge my board. The woman on the phone said edging was 50$ but if I wanted a wax it was 20$. I tried to clarify cause I told her I wax my own board and just needed and edge. She said "ya: 50$" and was rude and ended the conversation. After calling a few places they explained that they charge for a "full tune up" which is a wax and edge and board grind. If she had explained that to me I would have understood. At the end I went to jo-e cycles on Denman after asking and they do JUST an edge for $15 and done same day. Highly recommend them. Would not go back to west side due to rude customer service. Go somewhere where they are helpful and nice. read more

My husband needed a new waterproof shell so we decided to hit all of the outdoor apparel stores along this section of Broadway. I think it was shopping fatigue that led us to buy the jacket here, not because this store was exceptionally good. This store carries a variety of price points but their selection is somewhat limited. Our sales guy was fairly helpful but really pissed us off when he said that this particular brand does not go on sale and a week later we saw it advertised for sale. The store does credit price adjustments within their return period but I do not appreciate having to trek back to the store to do it. read more

Westside Ski Bike Board has an amazing atmosphere with amazing staff. I was in need of buying my first pair of touring boots and they were helpful beyond expectations. So knowledgeable on sizing boots and making sure that I got the best pair that would work for me and provide me the most comfort. They spent a significant amount of time measuring my feet, explaining my options and how each boot is different and recommendations based on my skill level. They went the extra mile to make sure I was confident with my purchase and did not mind how long it took me to make up my mind. I cannot recommend a better place to get your gear. read more

I have been unable to do any biking or sports for the past 10 months due to arthritis and severe pain in my hip and with my new e bike I am able to join my friends on the trails again! I went in looking for new ski boots and the knowledgeable fella helping me out asked what my old boots were. I told them they were great boots but too tight. He told me to bring them in and he was able to stretch out the liner. Now they fit like a glove and I saved a bunch of money not buying new ones! Thanks for the great service! read more

5* service!!! Brought my boots in that had cracked due to cold weather and they were way past their warranty. Not only did Jakub call Dalbello to sort it out he pleaded my case as it was a genuine boot failure and not because I was skiing big lines. He saved me hundreds of dollars AND I still got a pair of brand new boots. The guys in the store are really friendly and knowledgable about their respective sports. I was pleasantly surprised when I found this small shop nestled between the two big boxes (Sport Check and MEC). It was nice to find this store that is independently owned. The place is quite small; however they manage to fit a lot of stuff in there! There is a great selection of ski gear for families at reasonable prices. They even had some great kids combo deals with Elan and Grouse Mountain. The gentlemen who helped me was very knowledgeable and was truly interested in helping me find the right skis. Steve and Jake really know their stuff. First time i came in here a few years ago i needed ski boots, and Steve spent 2 hours getting me fitted for boots. They fit pretty darn good. The next season I needed some alterations done on the boots, and they took care of that for me, included in the original cost of the boot. They say ski boots hurt... mine don't! It pays to go to a shop where the people are passionate about the sport, instead of a big box store like the one down the street. Since then I've bought a snowboard, snowboard boots, another pair of skis, and a bike from them too. Two free parking spots out back too. read more

Love this place. Steve at Westside made buying a new pair of ski boots fun and reassuring. Their selection of hi-end gear is awesome and greater than the bigger stores in the neighbourhood. I entered the shop thinking I was going to buy a pair of Langes or K2s but left with a pair of Dalbellos. I'd been doing my research and trying on various boots for a couple of weeks in October before finding Westside. Steve was able to determine exactly the type of boot I was after - like a boot whisperer! I will go back to this store for kick butt service and gear. read more

Haven't skied for years, and am excited to really get back in to it this season. I was apprehensive about the whole equipment shopping process; in particular, finding boots that would work on my super sensitive feet. Well, I needn't have worried! I just had the most professional, informative, no-pressure shopping experience of my life, and left with ski boots that almost feel like slippers. Steve was awesome - friendly, patient and explained everything as he went. No condescension, and lots of fun. Two hours of fitting later, I made the decision to buy all my gear here. Maybe not the cheapest (although certainly in the expected price range), but I know that if I need any adjustments, I will get the ongoing 'no worries' help that I need until things are just right. Had been looking for a bike for a while and was looking at over priced second hand ones at Sport Junkies when I wandered into Westside. I explained what I was looking for and Jake was super helpful and friendly. I went home and researched the bikes he suggested and found they had excellent reviews from people who know bikes. So I went back in to test them out. Went with the Diamond Back Insight. They didn't have my size in stock but had a shipment on the way and when the delivery guys didn't bring them in on time they rang me up and offered me the next bike up instead because I needed my bike by a certain time (I didn't take it as I wanted the colour scheme on my one). Was very impressed with the effort they went to to get me my bike on time, driving out twice to the depot station. Super happy with my bike and super happy with the service, A++ read more

I'm trying to buy a DiamondBack mountain bike. I've contacted Westside several times on the phone and sent two emails. It's been over a week and no response to my emails. The first salesperson hadn't returned my call, nor has the owner Steve I spoke with and explained the situation to. Unfortunately, they are the only DiamondBack dealer in the lower mainland. I've decided on another manufacturer. Loss-loss for Westside and DiamondBack. read more

Brought $1100 worth of products from Westside Sport. Snowboard has become delaminated within 2 months, wrist guards broke on the first day and I have had to get my binding fixed twice already. When I contacted Westside they were very unhelpful, I guess they had already made the sale and didn't care anymore. Very disappointing!! read more
