I walked into Yesterday's expecting the usual off-key karaoke chaos, but somehow, every singer sounded like they were auditioning for "The Voice." Either Lexington is secretly full of undiscovered talent, or there's something magical in their (surprisingly fancy and reasonably priced) cocktails. Bartender was horribly rude! 5'6" dyed blond hair, black tee, black bandage on her left arm. Treated me like garbage, I have never been treated like that in my life. Has absolutely no business being a bar tender. I'm a combat veteran and Firefighter EMT and was spending time with my wife after a 72 hour shift. First time at this bar since Neon Moon bar was not doing karaoke this night and we were invited to this bar by regulars there. I was having an excellent time with my wife. I thought this was genuinely a great bar we would be returning to going on. I would have given this place 5 stars. But I came up short $6 on my card closing out. My pay was delayed, it happens, I'll just have to move money from another account. While I was doing this the bartender stood and stared at me like I was going to run off or something. Gave me a horrible disrespectful attitude which was completely uncalled for in front of everyone. Treated me like I was a low life bum, when it was just a simple mix up on my pay. She would not let up and loudly kept saying I am keeping her from other patrons and need to pay. I was not keeping her from anyone, give me a second to move money Jesus Christ lady. She embarrassed me and my wife and ruined our entire night. Other patrons who saw what she did were disgusted with her behavior. Even the security guard apologized to my wife about the bartenders behavior. Apparently this isn't the first time this has happened. Had she just given me a second I would have gotten the money over and given her and the other bar tenders an excellent tip for the trouble. It was truly a great night up until this point. I'm a first responder, I serve people who are experiencing the worst day of their lives as well as people who have absolutely no reason to be polite. This bartender is easily within the top ten rudest people I've ever had to deal with in my life. She should be out of customer service immediately. This is the best place in Lexington to play pool. They have countless tables that you pay to play at the bar by the hour. No worries if you don't want to shoot an hour or more though, they have a few tables that are quarter fed... $.75 per game. It's located inside of the Lexington Center in downtown, so parking can be challenging if there is an event going on. Also, it can get super busy when there is a UK basketball game or concert going on at Rupp Arena since The Lexington Center is attached to Rupp. The food is good too. Mainly your typical pub or sports bar food, which is right up my alley. I've never had a bad experience. My favorite thing that I've ordered is the grilled chicken sandwich. It comes with fries and the only bad thing that I have to say is that the last time that I was there, the fries weren't as good. They weren't the thin crinkle fries that I had times before. Please bring those back. This would be the perfect location for a Yelp event. Why? Because a lot of people, like me, don't know that this gem exists behind that seemingly small bar front that you see from The Lexington Center. Yeah, I've passed it countless times and knew that it was there, but never did I know all it had to offer inside until my husband's pool league started shooting pool there. Happened to be staying at a hotel across the street from the convention center where Yesterdays is and decided to stop in and play a couple games of pool. They have a TON of pool tables and, when I was there, there weren't many people in there. I had great beers (White Girl Wasted and Yuengling) and played a couple good games of pool. This is not my childhood yesterdays! That yesterdays was fun, wild; even mystical in my memories from then. Those memories don't hold justice to the new yesterdays. It is even more better!!!! To start with is friendliness. My old memories did not hold this quality next to my heart. The new yesterdays has this qualities in spades. Everyone I have met that works here; especially the most greatest bartenders in the southeast have been especially friendly and gracious. They have made my heart swell 3 times the size!!! Hahahaha!!! Yesterday's is the pool hall that is in the shopping center next to Rupp Arena. It has about ten tables and even a little shop for pool stick and other billiard related things. The Good - Lot's of table and a little more upscale than other pool halls in town. - They have lots of room and seating to relax between shots. The Bad - The food smells and tastes like hotel room service. The Ugly - For smoker there is a long walk either across the shopping center or up stairs if you want to smoke. read more

Every time I am In the bar the main bartender is unappeasably ignorant, not respectfully serving me as a customer, however today while I was so inclined to refill an empty sweet tea another man on the outside of the bar respectfully serves me but withholds telling me I can't refill my own glass from the hose. He informs the other bartender while I am away who proceeds to refuse to let me be there. I ask for my money back for the very poor service and rude, vulgar language comes from the both of them with refusal to be polite by any means. It is unacceptable. HORRIBLE service by a wait staff that couldn't care less. I was there this past weekend for Scarefest. The bar was jam packed, and the staff were moving in ultra slow motion. I stood in line at the bar for over 45 minutes waiting to be served, and finally left. This staff clearly doesn't get the concept of hustling to get more tips. We overheard them making snarky remarks about the clientelle in their establishment that night Amazing these people even have jobs - especially in a big college town like Lexington. Plenty of 8-ft tables, all generally very-well maintained. Rates are as cheap as anyplace in town, and much better than comparable places in the larger cities. Mix of both relatively experienced and inexperienced players. Upscale setting and environment, friendly staff. And actually, there are restrooms inside the Restaurant - they're on the right, toward the rear. All reviews about staff are accurate. I asked a simple question about the amount they billed me for pool and watched two staff members make faces/comments. I was never even told that you had to pay for pool, and we played for roughly 2 hours for $28. Was here, as a meeting place, waiting for the arrival of a student filmmaker from Hawaii. The first day was a bit slow and definitely no wait staff. The place was not really busy and the busiest portion was basically me and about 10 other people who would be helping with the movie being shot over the next couple of days. Yesterday, I went there again, since we had all agreed to meet up for the first scene of the movie. Immediately, there was a guy who went out of his way to serve me water that I had asked for. Since I ran there, thinking I was late for the shoot, it was great to drink down a cold glass of water. The next time I went in there to get water bottles refilled and it was pretty easy to do so. Both these times mind you, they did not care that I did not tip them. Do not know if they actually hated me for not doing that or what. read more

This place is a pretty good pool hall. They have nice tables, and lots of room. I guess technically it's also a restaurant, but I've never tried their food, and wouldn't really expect too much if I did. Again, this place is a pool hall first and foremost. It's also never crowded, so you won't have to wait for a table, and can often have the run of the place. Plus they have shuffleboard and ping pong...that pretty much seals the deal for me. Lexington needs more places with shuffleboard, but until they get them, Yesterday's is the place. read more

One of the two true pool halls left in the greater Lexington area. Yesterday's has all oversized 8fts that they do an excellent job maintaining overall. New cloth on different tables every so often, good rails on the majority of tables, and the legs and slate are level for the most part. Very minor issues on a few tables, which are negligible. (A few holes in the old leather drop pockets, etc.) There always seems to be at least one player in there if you are searching for someone to play with or talk to about billiards. The price to play pool is also the best I've seen. At 1$ every 15minutes PER PERSON, even if you are just learning, you WILL play more than one or two games in 15 minutes, compared to a coin operated table at 1$ per game. There are also multiple leagues that play out of Yesterday's, making it a good place for beginners to get started or long time players looking to challenge themselves. Next, ever since the staff has changed over, Yesterday's has become a pleasant experience all together. Good food, friendly service, and they are happy to see anyone who comes in. The place is kept neat and clean and does a good job maintaining its image as an upscale, old school Billiards Hall. There is also plenty of space to move and play even when there are larger crowds. Although no place is perfect, the biggest problem with Yesterday's from a players stand point, isn't a problem at all...until basketball season. University of Kentucky basketball game days create a huge influx of people causing every where around Rupp Arena to become a nightmare to get in and out of. I'd like to warn people that you will not be playing pool BEFORE a basketball game starts; the drinking crowd is just too thick. Although, if you are around for a basketball game, there is no where that even compares as a spot to get your pregame on, if you can get in. And once the main crowd disperses to watch the game live in the stadium, it becomes one of the best places to watch the game on T.V., with plenty of seating, a plethora of screens, and no problem with space to shoot a game of pool while you cheer on the Cats. Finally, even if you are not a pool player, there's a shuffle board table in the back; TV's playing sports, news, anything really; a jukebox that is actually up to date and can be connected to via an app; and last but not least fully stocked bar. All together, Yesterday's is a great experience for pool players, friends, family, young(well, 21 young), and old to enjoy together. It's a prime location to host any type of gathering with their large private room. It's a relaxing environment in the early evening and during the week, and a hopping bar on the weekends. It's a pool players dream room, in a time when pool halls are closing all over to, see one that is still thriving. Get down there, "Rack 'em up", and "Break your balls at Yesterday's." read more

Two hours to get our food because "the lunch crowd was bigger than expected" I tried to get our lunches comped and the "manager" had no authority except to knock off 20 percent which was grossly inadequate. This was a business lunch. The manager said the owner was unavailable in the hospital and couldn't be contacted. Food was two star at best. Horrible experience. read more
