My boyfriend and I LOVE Chinoe Pub! We live in the neighborhood and discovered this lovely hole in the wall about 2-3 years ago and we go often. Wide range of age groups that go here and always a good time! We are in our late 20s and we love it! The karaoke is most definitely the best part and quite often some super talented people sing there. Oh, and cheap drinks, and as of recent we have discovered their food is absolutely delicious and super affordable. I had their Texas Grilled Cheese with their chili recently and it was so so good. Their sourdough melt [burger] is delicious, too. We've been to eat there quite often, twice last week. ‍ Oh yeah, and their service is fantastic just to top it off. Rumor mill #1. The owner's wife is unhinged....... Karaoke is ok, esp when the African American guy is the DJ. But the big girl is rude, hateful, and has the potential to be violent or she has GANG members patrolling the place for her. The barber shop next door had a deadly shooting a few years back. Aka gang activity. Place is dangerous. Toxic. Full of 2 faced people that are almost a foot in the grave....... Literally. Beer and drinks are cheap but is it worth risking safety? I think not. Saturday Night the place was PACKED. Positives, GREAT Cheeseburger, Beer very reasonably priced. Sound system GREAT. Staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty of TV's for game watching. Great Atmosphere. Some really GREAT SINGERS as well. Restroom very clean (for a bar mens restroom). Negatives: If your into Karaoke, and like to sing, you will possibly get to sing 2 songs max, maybe 3 the entire night, depending on crowd. I sang my first then it was nearly 2 hours till I sang again. Some patrons stood in front of me for the entire time I was there. I could not see the Karaoke screen. It was so low and even with a small step up stage couldn't see the singers because of the standing crowd. NOTE: They have Early Karaoke on Tuesday's that starts at 6:30 pm, I will try that out and review. If you like a big weekend crowd this place is for you. We moved into this neighborhood 3 months ago and have been talking about stopping in here. Tonight we tried it. That won't happen again. The Yuengling was skunked so I ordered a Coke. The Coke was so bad it made me seriously question if the lines had ever been cleaned. I ordered the steak fries app. They were not steak fries. We had burgers both of us felt like we might throw up before we finished them. The place was dirty, like really dirty. People were nice enough. Maybe it's a fine local watering hole for the $2 Bud Light crowd who wants Karaoke and is gonna throw it up anyway - but why bother having a good program and calling yourself a pub if you're gonna do this bad of a job. I have no explanation how this place has a 100 health score. I can only imagine the inspector was stoned or had suffered some debilitating head injury or they added a zero. read more

This place is recommended for groups to have a great karaoke time. Minus the guy whom I heard say, "fresh meat" when my friends and I walked in, but it's a bar. We settled in and grabbed our drinks and had a great time singing along and dancing. We will come back to this bar again. read more

Love the small small small town feel of this place. While the people might give you the stare down when you first come in its just up to you to be nice hangout and meet people. The locals are super friendly. The beers cold and drinks are good. Karaoke is always fun. Most of the locals are not great but the ones that are great are AMAZING! Kenny McKinney is an older gentleman who is simply wonderful to listen to. Remember it's a dive bar. Expect dive bar and you'll have a blast. read more

Favorite place when I'm in town for the holidays. The beer is cheap, the singers are actually pretty talented, and the fried food nicely offsets the beer. If you want to sing, just make sure you put the song request in early because it gets really popular! read more

I've been here twice since moving to the neighborhood, and I can say without a doubt that they have some of the cheapest bar prices in town. Both times I've gone, we've participated in karaoke...which happens every night starting around 9:30pm. I think one of the regulars told me the BIG night for it is on Thursdays. Chinoe Pub is our favorite place to visit in Lexington for a casual atmosphere, affordable drinks, and karaoke! My girlfriends and I make an annual trip to Lexington every year, and stumbled upon this place several years ago. The people we believe to be the owners are very kind, but our last visit caused hesitation to return because of the woman they had running the karaoke. We arrived around 9:30 pm on a Saturday evening and karaoke had not started because the UK football game was on, which was fine. We put in our request to sing before the game ended but didn't get called for more than an hour, and noticed that the local regulars were called multiple times before we were. Not wanting to read too much into the situation, we continued to enjoy the drinks and conversation. It wasn't until a large group who walked in about an hour after we did, had their names called to karaoke before us. When we asked about the delay, the woman scowled, and acted annoyed. At that point we put our names in again, but were only able to participate 1 time in the 3 hours that we were there. It would have been fine if it wasn't obvious that other people were getting called multiple times. We were seated by the front door, so we knew we should have been ahead of the majority. At one point, someone didn't go up when their name was called, so my girlfriend asked if she could take their spot, since we had waited forever, and the woman at the booth rudely dismissed her. As I know this may seem trivial, and none of us believe we are going to be discovered for a record deal at the Chinoe Pub, it was the principle that left all of us with a bad taste in our mouth. Our group visits once, maybe twice a year, and always look forward to the evening when we can escape reality in a place where no one knows us, and laugh about it on the ride home. We all left very disappointed when the blatant attitude of the karaoke facilitator dampened our fun like a wet blanket. read more

The hours for this pub are all wrong on yelp. They open everyday at 11 am except on saturday when they have a great breakfast for 5.95 starting at 8 am. Great burger. Cheapest drinks you'll find in Lex. Nice people work there except for one old dude. read more

I totally agree with the above review. This is a local hangout and you may get stares when you first walk in the door. You can drink plenty of cheap Bud Light (the only beer on draft--unfortunately), and get that liquid courage you need to sign up for karaoke. One tip if you want to sing, is to sign up early. If you get there after midnight, you have almost no hope to get on stage. Also, I love this place for holidays--Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc. Those times when normal people are sleeping at their parents' house is when this bar fills up! I love it. read more

Not a good place to be at all. The servers/bartenders are as sweet as can be, but overall this is a terrible place. The overweight DJ will berate you if you aren't singing well enough, and then attempt to sing himself, which is equally terrible. It does have some cool regulars, but unless your'e one of these don't waste your time. read more
