I found and went to Ivanna's Hair Salon a few months ago to get a hair cut. I have thick Asian hair and my last few haircuts were done abroad so I wasn't sure how this would go, but I went based on reviews and pictures that were available. Happy to say that I was very pleased with my haircut and experience. Ivanna and her staff are incredibly nice. The shampoo she did was wonderfully relaxing and after my cut and dry my hair was very soft! I showed her one of the pictures on her Yelp page as what I wanted and she delivered 100%. I came in for a color correction and to fix a cut that a different salon had done about a week prior. My first time visiting this salon. Mimi was the stylist who did my services. Mimi was nice. There was a bit of a mishap with my hair color after the first processing though. It came out a dark gray and I freaked out. She insisted that was the color I wanted but it definitely wasn't. I've included the reference photo in my review. The reference photo shows a bright blonde...not dark grey. She kept insisting however, that it was the color I wanted, which was a bit aggravating. Because dark gray was not what I wanted. And not what's shown in the reference photo. The owner, Ivanna, was called and she came back to the salon to try and fix the color. Thankfully they were able to lighten the dark grey to a more agreeable color with a toner. But after so much processing my hair was damaged. Fried. Ivanna also went back over my haircut to correct the cut Mimi gave me. She just made sure it was a blunt bob, which I wanted. But in the process, my hair had to be cut shorter than I intended. Hair grows so I'm okay with that. I appreciated Ivanna coming in to help fix my hair color and make sure my haircut was what I wanted. She was very nice. My appointment started at 1pm but I didn't get out until about 6:30. My total came to $550 before tip. It was a hard pill to swallow since my hair color didn't come out entirely as I wanted, and my hair was very damaged post-appointment. They did offer a complimentary deep-conditioning treatment after seeing my hair so damaged. Color correction can be a toss up. I know this. I will probably try to find a salon that specializes in blonde color corrections for my future needs. I just thought I'd try out this salon since it was close by. I did inquire as to what they charge for a child's haircut and Mimi said $85 (before tip) That's expensive. My daughter is 6 & doesn't require anything special. No layers. Just a simple straight, blunt cut to take off a few inches. So $85 is a bit much for a child's haircut. Even if they wash and blow dry...The most I've spent is $60 (including tip) at a salon in neighboring Los Altos. The salon itself is very clean and modern. In the end, the gray hue is starting to fade. Thank goodness. It's been a week and I've washed it twice to fade the tone. Ive used K-18 to remedy the damage. read more

At the time, I had darker hair and thinner, which I didn't like. I wanted to change it with blonde highlights with a good look.  Ivanna was adjusted my hair color and set my hair very beautifully with more volume. it made me very happy. Excellent experience. Ivanna is meticulous and very detail oriented, she took her time with my hair and ensured that everything was perfect. She advised me on the style that I should go for and even gave me a variation of how to take care of my hair if I didn't want to blow dry it. She takes her time with everything from the hair wash to the haircut and I would say it was a wonderful experience. I am very very happy with my haircut. I have tried many big chains (Supercuts, ...) and always left feeling disappointed by the lack of attention to detail. I have been getting my hair cut with Ivanna since June 2022 (back when she was at the Palo Alto location). After 40+ appointments, I can confidently say that she been the most consistent and timely hair stylist I have ever had. I went to Ivanna's Hair Salon in Mountain View for the first time today and had such a wonderful experience. The salon itself is beautiful! Bright, clean, and very thoughtfully designed. Ivanna is absolutely lovely, and her daughter at the front desk is just as kind and welcoming. I came in with badly damaged, over-bleached, frizzy, over-processed hair... plus a DIY root color situation that did not go well . Ivanna took the time to really talk through my current hair goals and my longer-term goals, and together we came up with a thoughtful plan for my color. I showed her some inspiration photos, and she completely understood what I was hoping to achieve. While we chatted, I was offered refreshments that were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Such a nice touch. If I could give 10 stars, I would. I came for color and haircut, the results were amazing. I was looking for a while for a place to get my naturally blond hair back. It darkened with age and I wanted something looking natural and close to what I used to have. Ivanna spent time before my appointment to discuss my wishes and tried 2 different colors on a sample of my hair. The day of the appointment she started with the haircut, she was very attentive to detail and the final shape was even better than what I expected. As for the color, my hair looked exactly like it was 15 years ago, very natural with variations of blond. Everyone in my family and friends were impressed. Do not visit Ivanna if you have textured hair. Even with my hair blown out and flat ironed, she did not know how to cut it. I provided several reference photos of layered cuts, but she repeatedly insisted the hair texture was different from the pictures. A layered cut is still a layered cut, and she was unable to move past that point. I ultimately left because I was not confident in her ability, and it was clear she was not confident either. read more
