The grass jelly was the second worst I have ever tasted from any bubble tea business I have ventured in my New York City foodie travels. The grass jelly was disappointedly medium and large chunky hard knotted heaped lumps. The grass jelly tasted like Greek yogurt hard chunky heaped lumps. The grass jelly topping is utter extortionate price $1.00. The 30% sugar level was a good consistently but not entirely sweet. Nevertheless, my drink contained a lot of ice as requested and served Arctic extreme cold to heed the hope within my mind. The peach was rather large chunk pieces of fresh fruit embedded. This drink was average. I requested medium size but it is truly large size especially the price $8.50. Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea, like most bubble tea businesses intentionally, does not offer small sizes. Customer service is average attentive. Store is very warm - no A/C? Tough on the staff, I'm sure. They have a huge line of stickers for drinks... so they're behind on making it even with four staffers (one cleaning/making stuff in the back, and two others upfront, and one floater it looked like). The Sun Moon Lake Black Tea - refreshing, cool, and not too sweet. I liked it. Two orders of egg pancakes - for each order of 5 only one flavor, and they told me 10-15min for them, so waited.... 31 minutes. Terrible. The drink I saw was done in less than 5min.... and sat there warming up on the table while they made the egg pancakes. They couldn't just give it to me? -sigh- Also, for whatever reason, they make drinks and put it on the table, but don't have someone consistently checking that the order(s) are done and so some orders literally sat completed and people were waiting around all crowded in the storefront, and finally several got the attention of the staffers in order to show their numbers and point out their drinks were done... left some of the customers pretty unhappy at both the ordering and pickup stage for the lack of someone consistently working. The plastic shield also blocked audio so that made it harder to order because it was hard to hear the staffer clearly. I have been here a few times to the Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea in Flushing. I had one of my favorite drinks, the Mango Sago drink. Creamy, fresh and delicious. I had an additional drink too, YiFang Fruit Tea. Both drinks requested with less ice snd less sugar. Just as tasty without all the additional ice and sugar. Yi Fang drinks, all use the premium Taiwan Tea leaves and the natural raw cane sugar only. Good drinks deserve good ingredients. All payments accepted, service was good. Yi Fang hails from Taiwan, like many bubble tea shops these days (Taiwan is considered the birthplace of bubble/boba tea.) Several years ago they started popping up all around Manhattan and the NY metro area. This location has been here for at least a couple years itself. I like that their tea options are solid, outside of Tianren, better quality teas than some of the earlier shops that used mostly Assam for milk teas and more artificial flavors* in their fruit teas. Each tea has a distinct profile and you can taste the difference. Their regular bubble milk tea is good and I especially like their green plum tea with aiyu (traditional slightly sweet jelly made from the seeds of a particular plant found in SE Asian countries). I'm also a fan of their herbal jelly which actually tastes herbally. The pomelo mango sago is also a popular item here--when I was here last week I saw two people order this separately. Drinks are offered in Medium and Large for cold drinks. Large only for hot drinks. You can customize it by selecting the sugar level and ice level for each drink, though there are some that come with set sweetness. Prices run between $5-8.25 for a drink. The space is pretty small, mainly set up for takeout orders though there are a handful of seats if you want to enjoy your drink there. *On some of the more tropical fruit flavors I don't doubt this is the case across most bubble tea stores, though they do tout their use of all natural flavors and ingredients here at Yi Fang. read more

We were walking in 80 degree weather with the sun shining so this kinda helped us cool down. The winter melon drink at 50% was really sweet but it does taste good. Despite its political standings as a company, Yi Fang's drinks are very solid and have increasingly become my go-to because of the consistency in its fresh fruit drinks. I was not impressed by the brown sugar boba hype that garnered a Tiger Sugar-like cult following when they began to create their footprint in the US market several years ago and didn't feel like it was worth going back to try their other drinks. But after living in Taiwan and being spoiled by the abundance of tea shops, Yi Fang has become one of my default go-to tea shops and I can say that I genuinely enjoy the quality of their teas. The great thing about them is that their menu is exactly on par with their Taiwanese counterpart--even the seasonal drinks where some ingredients aren't a commodity in the US. This was one of the more expensive tea shops when it opened back in 2019 but pricing hasn't changed too much since the pandemic and now their pricing is pretty much on par with any other bubble tea place. The new space is much better than their old one in the food court, where people were way too scattered. A few of my staples: * Strawberry Sago Latte - blended fresh strawberries with milk and sago. Seasonal. Highly addictive because it's blended with real strawberries. I recommend this with no sugar (trust me on this) because the blended strawberries, milk, and syrup already give it a balanced taste. * Mango Sago Pomelo Latte - also seasonal in the summer and made with fresh mangoes! * Yi Fang Fruit Tea - most of the drink is slices of fresh fruit but also recommend this with no sugar (30%, at most) because it is light and refreshing. * Longan and Jujube Tea and Longan Ginger Tea (Winter season menu) - I always look forward to these drinks in the winter because the ginger is actually spicy and satisfyingly overpowering so you'll feel zinged and warm. The Logan and Jujube Tea honestly makes me feel like I'm drinking something traditional and boiled for hours with love from my grandma. read more

I've become accustomed to a few regular go to drinks and the girl that has worked the longest knows me on sight. This is one of the very few places where my friend Joey will actually eat the boba and not shoot it at people for fun. So the bubbles here are darn good !! Ordered the seasonal mango fruit tea at 100% sweetness. It came with several orange and apple slices inside the cup. While the tea itself tasted good and was not too sweet for me, it came with large black seeds in it meant to add some texture but I did not like them. At $8.50, I would not get it again. My friend tends to like dark, less sweet teas so he liked his sun moon lake black tea. The aiyu jelly he ordered with it also had a strange texture. Their signature drink, Yi Fang Fruit Tea. Apparently this was their grandma's name and her secret recipe. Using home-made organic cane sugar, fresh fruits, natural ingredients. No concentrated juice and powders. You can taste the freshness of the tea and sweetness of the fruits. Remember to choose your level of sugar and ice. I got Yi Fang Fruit tea. Super good. With 50% sugar and no ice. Fresh pineapple, 100% fresh passion fruit, orange, apple and Taiwan mountain tea. It contains a couple of slices of apple, orange, and passion fruit. The passion fruit has melted to there is a handful of black seeds on the bottom of the cup. Only negative is that the passion fruit seeds are a bit crunchy hard, so be careful when sipping them through the straw. They are totally edible and full of vitamins. We ordered the Mango Pomelo Sago-Fresh mango blend with coconut milk, grapefruit and mini sago, Strawberry Sago Latte-100% Fresh strawberry with organic milk and mini sago, and Mango Fruit Tea-Yi Fang signature mango fruit tea with fresh mango, apple, orange, 100% real fresh passionfruit and Taiwan mountain tea. You can control the sugar and ice levels for the drinks. They only come in large size. I really liked how they use fresh fruits and real fruit and it is real tea and not powder. Ordered the mango sago and pomelo drink as recommended by a friend. It was a very expensive drink, but it was very satisfying. It was basically like a mango smoothie, but had lots of sago in it, (similar to tapioca, but white/clear and smaller, and usually made from a diff type of starch than the black tapioca pearls), and had some pieces of the pulp of a pomelo fruit in every other sip (pomelo is kinda like a big grapefruit?). The sago added great texture to the smoothie. I normally don't like tapioca pearls in my fruit smoothies since they end up tasting frozen and too hard, but the sago worked well with this. And the citrus in the pomelo made the drink a little more interesting. I'd come again, but it may take a big hit on my wallet if I got too addicted. read more

YiFang has always been one of my top favorites bubble tea joint in Flushing. This is a new location on 40th road and they definitely get a lot of foot traffic- which means get ready to wait during peak hours. Oh yea we went around 9pm on a Saturday night and there was a long line but hey that only means the place is good right? I'll start off by saying I'm not a big boba guy but I do like my flavored tea (just abt any kind) and I think that's why I really like YiFang. YiFang is a little different than your typical bubble tea shop in that they are not just all focused on boba or milk tea type drinks but their flavored tea drinks are also fantastic as well, in fact their signature drink is a fruit tea made with different types of fruits and pure cane sugar. Their drink selections is huge, you will definitely be overwhelmed the first time you set foot into this place. But fear not friend, I'll recommend a few drinks here that you should try (btw these are my top 3 favorite drinks after many trials and error) 1. YiFang Fruit Tea- a refreshing tea drink with a mix of different fruits (typically apple, orange, pineapple, passion fruit, lemon), YiFang pride themselves for using pure cane sugar and you definitely can taste it in their drink. The mix of fruit just gave the drink so many layers of depth, every sip is different as you taste the sweetness of the pineapple, crispiness of the apple, tartness of the lemon and crunchiness of passionfruit/seeds. BTW definitely do 50% sugar or 30% if you don't like it too sweet (obviously I did a 100% before and it was WOA diabetes alert). 2. Brown Sugar Pearl Latte/ Tea- this is a fan favorite and for obvious reasons, their boba is soft yet chewy and the brown sugar gives the drink a roasted nutty flavor, the drink is creamy but still has a strong tea flavor- just delicious! Oh again try it with 50% sugar first or live with regrets 3. Mango Sago or Mango Pomelo Sago- This is a seasonal item according to their menu but seems like it's always there which is great. I would highly recommend the mango pomelo sago, I find this has a better balance of flavor compared to the mango sago. The drink is basically a mango smoothie with pomelo and mini white tapioca balls, the mango tasted fresh, the pomelo provided a little tartness to the drink and mini white tapioca ball was soft and chewy which makes this one great drink! Be warned this drinks like a meal and you probably want to go 50% sugar on it (this coming from someone who likes sweet) This time around, I tried a few of their tea drinks (Floral Mountain Tea and Lugu Oolong Tea), it's not bad and all of them got a strong tea flavor but again I made the mistake of ordering 100% sugar so sad days all around. Expect to pay around $5 -$9 a drink, it could get costly but guess okay to indulge once in a while. Their cashier speaks perfect English so no communication issue there. Overall love YiFang, love their huge selection of drinks (probably one of the biggest selection of bubble tea/ fruit and flavored tea around), price is alright but the drinks are definitely a perfect ending after a full meal in Flushing. read more
