Located in the heart of downtown San Mateo. Self service kiosk ordering drinks. Pick it up at the counter when they call you. Ordered the mango sago with pomelo. Love the flavor and sweetness of the fresh mango. Good amount of sago and pomelo pieces. Service is quick and easy.

When I want fruit tea, I usually stop by this shop as I think it has ond of the best and I am another mistaken, it was the first one that introduced it during pandemic. I have been visiting this store many times before. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is small shop where you order from the touch screen kiosk.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has space to stand if you want to have the drink inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This shop usually not busy compare to other boba shop around Downtown area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Usually the drink was ready pretty quickly.

    A fruitless fruit tea.

There's a lot of bubble tea places to choose from in San Mateo, and YiFang used to be my go-to boba joint. No longer. Tonight, I ordered a famous YiFang fruit tea. Easy. It's their signature tea. They gave me a drink... with no fruit. When I asked why, they said, "we ran out of fruit" and walked away. -_- There were already so many "sold out" drinks on the menu, it would have been nothing 86 another for the night, but instead, they opted to sell an inferior, overly sweet, and off-model signature. What the what. I'm looking at lines down the street at Molly Tea -- this is not the way to keep customers coming back to. Do better, YiFang. I know you can.

Mostly drinks with caffeine but I managed to find the mango sago drink !! Enjoyed 50% sugar and large size . [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a hot day[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] .

There are so many different boba shops in downtown San Mateo now, but Yifang is still one of my favorites! My go-to drinks are the mango pomelo sago and the ginger lemon tea (winter seasonal special). Recently, I also used their catering service for our wedding. There was a mistake on their end where they wrote down the wrong pickup time, so when we went there in the morning there was a lot of confusion around our order and we had to make a separate trip later. Thankfully everything worked out in the end and our guests really enjoyed the boba! Despite the mishap, I have a ton of respect for how their team handled the situation. Chris immediately sent me a thoughtful and sincere apology and offered an extremely generous refund. Mistakes inevitably happen, but it goes a long way when someone proactively acknowledges the impact and takes responsibility for what happened. I left the conversation with a positive impression that this is a business that has a lot of integrity and does right by their customers, and I will gladly keep supporting them!

First time at Yi Fang in downtown San Mateo was on the night of the 1st of January, 2025. Z and Cielo had checked out their Colma location a few months ago, bringing a beverage back home for me, so I knew that I would find a drink that I would like here. After our New Year's dinner at MY Dumpling, we walked here to get some post-dinner boba drinks. We arrived shortly before 7:30 PM to a short line of people inside. Venue: 4 stars. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tea shoppe is fairly small. With no tables and only a bench against one wall, maximum occupancy can't be more than forty people. The brightly lit place was tidy and clean on the evening of our visit[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Upon entry, patrons are welcomed by the menu posted on the wall to the left, the front counter just a few feet directly facing the front door, a touch screen kiosk for ordering at the front right corner, and a long hallway with the bench for sitting. Service: 3 stars. With the kiosk for ordering, this place is pretty much a self-service bubble tea store. I'm assuming that you can also place orders at the front counter, but if you use the electronic podium for ordering, the only service you receive is when your number or drinks are called out for pick-up. Having a choice of means for ordering likely speeds things up here, but the germaphobe in me really wished that they had a bottle of hand sanitizer somewhere next to the touch-screen kiosk from which we ordered our beverages. Drinks: 5 stars. Initially, Mom was set on passing on getting a drink, but after viewing their menu, she was reeled in by their Red Bean offerings. Below are what Mom and I ordered: Medium Purple Rice Red Bean Coconut Latte ($7.25) with Sago ($0.75), no ice. Mom really enjoyed this vegan cold drink. Large ($0.75) Aisha Almond Grass Jelly Almond Latte ($6.25) with added Almond Jelly ($0.75). DELISH! And, again, hurray for another vegan beverage! I am not sure what the difference is between the Aisha Almond Grass Jelly Almond Latte and the regular Grass Jelly Almond Latte. I think that the Aisha Almond was a promo for some special brand or toy, but what I received was nothing different than the classic version. Weird, hope that I didn't pay for something that I did not receive. Nevertheless, I slurped this up with much delight. Just two days later, V got a Strawberry Fruit Tea which he really liked. We will definitely be back!

Quick stop for boba. $7 a drink, not bad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have Gender neutral bathrooms & they were clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great location w/lots to do nearby.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My kid finished their lil drink so fast! So I know it was good.

Came here with my colleague to get some refreshing drinks after a delightful lunch. I ordered the signature Yifang fruit tea and my colleague ordered the Green tea milk tea. Both are very satisfied with the orders

Still my favorite drink place! Their fruit teas remind me of my favorite Snapple Peach Iced Tea. My recent favs are matcha latte and passionfruit green tea with agar boba. Their organic syrup and fruits are the best for my kids. Also they have the best mango pomelo!

Overall the drinks were quite good, but pricing was pretty steep. I got the strawberry milk drink since my daughter loves pink, and it was $7 for essentially strawberries, sugar and milk. It was tasty and she liked it, but that price didn't even include boba. I got the black sesame milk tea which was pretty tasty, but they were out of black tea, so I had to substitute a different tea.

Got the mango sogo as to go this time . The wait and pick up took forever. And they got my order wrong. I couldn't wait anymore so I took it anyways. I give it 2stars this time

    - Lugo Oolong Tea 乌龙茶 [5/5] I get this every time I order from Yifang (so I've had it about 30 times)! :) It's a very delicious blend of Oolong and tastes a bit like peach. The tea taste is very strong in this drink, which I really appreciate. If I could compare it to something, it might be something like a sweet and fruity version of the tea provided at dimsum. I get it with 75% sugar and less ice. SERVICE [6/5] A+ customer service!! I accidentally ordered a Medium size for one of our drinks but they upgraded to Large for free. That was a super kind gesture and honestly made my day! :) Thanks very much! I ordered and was able to pick it up within 5 minutes. Super fast!

After waiting an hour for my drink, I was expecting the drink to be hella good like something I've never had before. Their signature yifang fruit drink was good. I liked the crunchy passionfruit seeds and the pieces of apple and pineapple in the drink, but it wasn't something I couldn't get somewhere else. I didn't notice anything unique about it. The workers weren't that friendly either. I think they were overwhelmed. I think they need to hire more people. I've never waited an hour for a drink before. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is tiny and not much standing room to wait for your drink.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've driven by this place a hundred times and there's almost always a line of 20-30 people outside…read more This morning I decided to wait in that line. Super funny that the couple behind me commented that they go here all the time and there's never a line. After about a 40 minute wait, I got to the cashier at around 10:20am. Half the pastries like the ube brioche were already out so I opted for just the lattes. I played it safe and got the Tahitian vanilla latte. I will say that it's good quality coffee. Didn't need to add sugar. It didn't come super hot though so as I took it away, I downed it pretty fast! I got my mom and aunt the ice latte version of the black sesame and the brown sugar. Sounds like both were good as well. The black sesame wasn't sweet, which was to my aunt's liking. Inside, it's very clean and not crowded. What helped is that there is a sign that tells the people in line that only 6 people at a time should line up inside. If I have the time, I'd line back up. 4.5/5 stars, but I'll round up.

There was a sign that said only 6 ppl could wait inside to order, but I already counted 8 so figured they weren't enforcing it yet. Unfortunately, right when it was my turn to order, they ran out of beans and had to dial in a new batch. That alone added at least 30-40 minutes between waiting to order, and waiting for the coffee to come out. We got the caramel miso latte and the black sesame latte with an ube brioche. Can't say I loved either latte, nor the brioche. Everything was just decent. I was more impressed with how many ppl came here! I did enjoy seeing the baristas at work though. I'd say if you got here at even 850am, be prepared for a long wait. Can be even longer depending on whether they need to dial in new beans. Definitely not a good place to get a quick coffee before work.

Pickup was at the San Mateo location, which is right by the caltrain station. Its a super small storefront for carryout only. They have a kitchen but most of the cakes are made at other locations and brought over for pickup. Unfortunately we were not super impressed by the biscoff crepe cake. While the design was cute and the crepes were thin, there wasnt enough biscoff creme (only about 1 layer for every 4-5 layers of plain vanilla creme) for the flavor to really come through. For a special holiday flavor like this, we expected a stronger biscoff flavor. If theres a special again, we'd be willing to give another flavor a try!

But dang it....I paid nearly $11 for a Good Morning Burrito (ham, eggs, tots, a ton of cheese) that was only the length of my iPhone 14. Great taste but I was hungry still. Plus I wish it had come with some sort of salsa. There was a hot sauce bottle, bulk size, that was almost empty so I said meh. A homemade salsa would be a nice touch. My daughter got a vegetarian omlette which was basically a mushroom omlette. That seemed a good size but basic mushrooms and they had a side of spinach with some sort of dressing which I was sure was just mayo. There were a sad four tots on the side. She didn't like her matcha latte and my Vietnamese coffee lacked kick. They are well situated to serve the area and clearly have regular business. For that younger tech crowd across at Sony this seemed like a spot for them to pound away at their laptops while drinking boba and listening to lo-fi jazz.
