This place is located in a dated strip mall in Richmond. Great tasting food and prompt service. Looks like a lot of locals come here. Check it out.

Came here with my mom. I told her about this place and how good their rice rolls were from what I heard from others. I got a beef congee, chinese donut and two rice rolls. We got the beef and shrimp rice roll and bbq pork chive roll. Both rolls were tasty. The rice roll skin was nice and smooth. Portion size was ok. There are parking in front of the restaurant. We came at a good timing so we didn't have to wait for a table. Service was ok here. The server spoke English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Decor was average and clean inside.

This place is the real deal if you are looking for authentic Cantonese food. From the moment you walk in, everyone is speaking Cantonese and it immediately feels legit. They also give you free hot tea, which is always a huge plus and sets the tone right away. I ordered the beef and shrimp rice noodle roll along with the Hong Kong style milk tea. The rice roll was honestly perfect. Super smooth, delicate texture, great balance of beef and shrimp, and seasoned exactly how it should be. I genuinely cannot think of anything they could have done better with it. It tasted just like what you would expect from a proper Cantonese spot. The Hong Kong style milk tea was hot and strong. Definitely more on the bold side, so if you like that deep tea flavor, you will love it. It paired really well with the rice rolls. Service was fast and everyone was very friendly, which made the experience even better. This is one of those places you come to when you want something authentic, comforting, and done right. I would absolutely come back and order the same thing again.

Truffle pork and shrimp rice roll - IG @bougiefoodieboi

A fairly popular chain across Canada and US. Nonetheless I was craving some rice noodle rolls so this place was ideal as we went fairly late for dinner and most of these places are primarily lunch service. This place can get busy as they restrict dining to 45 minutes during busy times, but it wasn't busy when we went. But this means that food should arrive quickly, and it did (within 5 minutes of ordering) so this is ideal for a quick, casual meal We got the truffle paste with pork and shrimp rice noodle rolls, dough stick roll, cold fish skin, and "frozen" Hong Kong milk tea. The rice noodle rolls were decent. The truffle one had strong truffle flavor and the rice noodle roll is on the mushier side for my liking. However, the one with dough stick was excellent and the sauces add up the flavors very well. The cold fish skin dish is recommended and had a nice bouncy texture that is somewhat similar to that in jellyfish, and it tastes spicy but not really. The frozen HK milk tea is purely for pictures because I would not justify a $3CAD (almost the price of the hot HK milk tea itself!) premium for the cold option again. For a sit down casual restaurant, prices were a bit high. You can pay with cash or Canadian debit at no extra charge, but US debit or credit cards in general there is a $2CAD surcharge, so they do take credit cards at a fee now!

Excellent Food. Fast efficient service. There's almost always a line but line moves fast. It is important to note that while Yin Ji Chang Fan is a chain throughout US and Canada- not all Yin Ji's are good. Afterall, the quality of the chang fun (rice noodles) will highly depend on the Sufi's skills... and this Yin Ji is superior. MUST GET ITEMS: * Fried Fish Skin... so yum!! And dipping it i n the soup gives it that extra yum! * Sam Pan Jook - on point with flavors, ingredients and jook texture. Vey nice! * HK mill tea - totally legit and will keep you bouncing off the wall for a day. lol * Plan white rice noodle - I always prefer the plain rice noodle versus with fillings. Overall - great good and recommended!

YIN JI CHANG FEN 銀記腸粉 is the real gem for anyone who grew up loving congee and rice rolls! YIN JI CHANG FEN 銀記腸粉 is well-known for its famous Guangzhou-style fresh rice noodle rolls (腸粉), congee, and classic Cantonese snacks. This place brings comfort and authenticity in every bite. Their rice rolls are soft, smooth, hand-crafted, and freshly made to order. Each one is a single flat roll, filled with savoury goodness and perfectly paired with their congee. Our top favourites: * S20 Fish Skin Tossed with Soy Sauce & Green Onion 順德涼拌爽魚皮 * S23 Thai Style Boneless Chicken Feet 泰式無骨鳳爪 * S8 Deep-fried fish skin 炸魚皮 * R19 Roasted Duck with Chives Rice Roll 金黃火鴨絲腸粉 * R1 Marinaded Beef & Shrimp with Chives Rice Noodle Roll 韭黃鮮蝦牛肉腸粉 * SW1 Sweet black sesame paste 生磨芝麻糊 If you're craving authentic Guangzhou street food, this is your spot. Food: 5/5 Must Try! Service: 5/5 Kids: 4/5 Yay! Price: $30-$40 per person (dinner) Presentation: 2/5 Parking: 1/5 Parking can be tricky. There are too many restaurants in the same plaza. Tips: * Has a massive menu. * Uses a traditional paper order system, writing down your dish numbers and handing them to the server. * Can get busy during peak times -- expect a short wait for a table. * Accepts cash, debit, Alipay, and WeChat Pay. Return: Yes (loyal customer)

This place will forever be a must whenever I am in town. The rice rolls were sooo so soft and perfect. I don't think you can go wrong with anything here. Just choose your filling to your preference. It was all so hot & fresh as well. The ladies working here are so quick with it. For ordering they have you write down on the paper for what you want and you receive it within minutes. I highly recommend.

I'll try to be as mindful as possible when writing this review. I firstly will start out with the fact that this place is not consistent, super over hyped and incredibly pricey. I'm not sure if i just got a bad can of vita but it tasted incredibly flat and it was at room temperature even though they took it out of the fridge. The deep fried buns weren't that good but as you can see they barely give you condensed milk too. I've had this dish at a ton of other restaurants for cheaper and with a whole lot more of condensed milk and the buns would actually taste fried and hot. The rice rolls were really thick and barely any filling inside. And with the price point being pretty steep compared to a lot of rice roll places in the city. I don't see how the price is even justified. My rice rolls legit had 3 shrimp inside total .. i was pretty shocked. The congee was bland and pretty runny. Barely any pork. The stewed beef brisket soup was probably the only thing that was actually good? Considering i normally don't even eat beef brisket but for the price point i wouldn't really drive out to eat it here again. The parking is very limited outside and the staff knows minimal english. Service was good but i don't think i'd be returning.

Amazing congee and rice rolls every time we go! Such a hearty comfort food that keeps you full for a long time!

We did a Richmond food crawl and this was one our stops. We were 5 people. We shared 2 congee--- century egg and seafood and 2 rice rolls. This restaurant is tops for these and surely delivers. Service is quick and the place is packed with people. The decor is basic and is just one large square room. It's also very clean. Parking is sufficient. Excellent!

Absolutely amazing! I don't think any of there dishes can go wrong. The rice roll/changfen taste just like home. I like it thin and flavorful. Regardless any of the rice roll you get, the trick is to add eggs with it. We tried the fish skin for the first time and it was so crispy and its not that salty. Service was great too. You first get a number from them and they will call the number once tables are available.

They got as many chang fun flavors as baskin robins has ice cream. Bro the combos they have are crazy almost like a MK fight move. Bulk approved Pro: mushroom chang fun my god had such a nice taste. I can understand why mario is so addicted to them. Con: regular shrimp do have lettuce which is used as cheap filler. Beef noodle bland af but the beef is beefing

Hei Hei Rice Roll is legit good, totally recommend, even my daughter too, I thought of her ( since she LOVES rice roll and couldn't make it on this trip with me) while enjoying these roll but when I shared with her the photos and mention that we will go back here with her- she already visited. She said it was so good! Hei Hei Rice Roll is located at the Richmond Public Market, oh wow - this place is really popular, on the 2nd visit I was the first in line then the line wasn't so long but while waiting for our order, the line got super long. I was lucky I didn't wait long in line. Best to arrive early. I am not sure what the secret to the rice roll but Wow, it's so thin, silky, smooth texture with the toppings, so great together. The last 2 times we had rice roll with my daughter at Portland and Seattle- followed per Instagram reels- those did not even compare to these rolls. My first visit I got the combo which is the best deals, starts at $15.50 but depends on what you select for the selection for rice rolls and congee. I got the pork & preserved egg congee, shrimp, mushroom, pork rice roll. The 2nd visit I got the combo again, with liver & preserved egg congee, scallop and shrimp rice rolls, but I got my order wrong for the roll- they missed the shrimp. fyi-I found out that bean sprout, corn, toppings are free! Both combo came out to $17. super cheap! Cash only, they take USD but its the same dollar $ value. I wish they take credit cards, hehe. & the Verdict: Yummy, the congee hits the spot for comfort food, loved how it is cooked and they add peanuts too. Love the packet of sauce for the rice rolls, the umami-ness, so good. Best to eat it hot and fresh! Don't forget to ask for chili sauce, to add that extra spicy kick! For now, I am not sure I'll ever find a spot that is closest to Hei Hei for my congee and rice roll fix until I get to visit Richmond, BC again.

We waited approximately 25 minutes which is not bad at all considering how popular this small restaurant is. My mom is vegetarian and my girls had a wonton noodle soup lunch at another spot down the street. So we ordered a few things mainly for my dad, husband and myself: 1) Platter with barbecue pork and chicken (雙拼叉燒香油雞) 2) Half-order of roast duck (半隻脆皮燒鴨) 3) late of roast pork (燒肉) 4) Bowl of rice (一碗米飯) We cleared everything. The meats were juicy, tender, and flavorful. My girls are usually indifferent to Cantonese barbecued meats but they tried it and enjoyed everything as well. They ran out of duck but do not fret because the soya chicken is where it's at. The soya chicken is incredibly tender, even the breast meat is tender. Secondly, it's perfectly marinated and if you dab a little of their homemade soy sauce, it's even better. Eat this with rice and you'll never want another meal in your life. This was easily our favorite dish for the place. Bbq pork and crispy pork are both spot on as well. They give generous and juicy cuts and the crispy pork is, well, crispy. The skin is a nice crunch and the meat is juicy, what more could you ask for? I still salivate and dream of the meat here and I wish we had something like this back in LA cause I don't know who else would make soy chicken as good as here. Cash only so come prepared! If you're a US tourist, they take USD as well but canadian is still the better deal.

I used to come here often with friends and families for breakfast and wanted to see whether it still tasted just as good. We each got two items from the breakfast combo, A through D. A to Cs are our usual options and upgrade to French toast. The eggs were somewhat on the drier side and i personally prefer fluffy ones. The beef noodles and the congee continue to be my favorites. The beef noodle broth is flavorful and the congee definitely comforted my soul. The items listed in D are always a miss. We have tried all items and none of them was delicious. For example, the steamed rice rolls were very doughy. Other times, they were very dry. The items in D sometimes felt like they're frozen dim sum items sold at grocery stores. Service is a hit or miss depending on which server you get. Sometimes you get servers who come and refill tea and provides actual service.
