My husband and I finally paid a visit to the restaurant today. We walked by it all the time whenever we came to the Broadway & Cambie area. We had a reservation for 12:30 and were seated promptly. We ordered 5 dishes between the 2 of us: - steamed rice rolls with beef and egg - fried taro cakes - steamed dumplings with mushrooms and water chestnuts - fried pancakes with squash and red bean paste - honeycomb cake Everything was tasty and fresh. While the menu prices are on the pricy side among other restaurants offering similar dishes in town, the quality and the portions do seem to support their pricing. The service was very attentive as well without overly friendly. read more

I don't typically go for dim sum when there are just a couple of us because I like ordering many different dishes to share. With two people, we always end up over-ordering and then have too many leftovers which is not a bad thing, except when traveling. I've been to Seaport City once during a prior visit to Vancouver. I remember the food being delicious and the servers being super friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is clean and spacious. We ordered six dishes for the two of us to share. Yes, it was too much food but so worth it. Scallop and pork dumpling (siu mai) - pretty basic dim sum dish but boy was it steaming hot! Pork hock with ginger - hubby loves pig feet so this dish was for him. It was so nostalgic eating it, just like how my late dad used to make it, gingery, vinegary with hard boiled eggs. Deep fried taro dumpling - this is one of my favorite dim sum dishes but am always hesitant to order because it tends to come lukewarm or cold. This one was so piping hot that I had to wait for the dumpling to cool down. It was also fresh and crispy. Deep fried country dumpling with cabbage - this one was for hubby too so I didn't try it. He enjoyed it though. Beef tripe - cooked perfectly tender Preserved egg and pork porridge (jook) - thickness of the jook was just right and the flavor was nice I really enjoyed our meal here and the fact that the staff never seem to rush customers out the door once finished. We made a reservation well in advance for a group of 8 on a Sunday morning at 10:45A M. Calling over the phone and booking it was super smooth. Getting there, they couldn't find our name but they found our phone number so we were in luck. The place was not super busy when we got there but around 11:30 it really filled up. Everything was very clean and decor was giving modern / upscale. The menu is quite large and the pictures accompany all the items listed on the menu which helps for those more visual. The menu also noted the size of the items so you would know how much food you are ordering. That didn't stop us though. We ordered way too much food for the group and had a ton to take home for leftovers. The quality was better than average. Not too salty and the food ingredients etc. all seemed good. Nothing dissappointed. I already want to go back for another round. The leftovers kept really well for the next day too so I am sure we will be over ordering again. read more

The food here was great! I enjoyed the dim sum here very much, almost comparable to China. The service was just ok though, they did change our dishes for us often (which was great) but overall the service was just ok, they weren't the nicest attitude. The environment is nice though, I liked the dining room and how brightly lit it is, and the facilities feel pretty new. read more

This is an upscale Chinese restaurant. The interior is nicely decorated and everything looks well maintained. The service was also great! The dimsum was very good (especially compared to my hometown in California). Keep in mind they are big portions. They tag on an extra item per order. For example, I'm used to getting an average of 4 shu Mai per order but they give you 5! So come hungry! It's a little bit on the pricier side but I think worth a try! read more

Seaport City Seafood was on our itinerary because of its Michelin Bib Gourmand award. This distinction indicates that it is a restaurant that offer high-quality food at a reasonable price. On Tuesday morning, we came almost exactly when it opened up (no reservation). We were immediately seated (however, as the day progressed, we saw a line of people waiting for a table). The ambiance was elegant and the service staff was attentive to our requests. I would recommend not coming in too casual of attire. The following food items were ordered: BBQ Pork Buns with Crispy Layers ($12.99) Scallops and Shrimps Siu Mai ($12.99) Radish Cake with Chinese Sausage ($11.99) Black Truffle Fried Rice with Wild Rice ($39.99) Sauteed Green Beans with Minced Pork ($28.00) Tea ($12) Take out box (.50 cents) The food was flavorful and came hot. The classic sauteed green beans with minced pork (see photo below) is an order you can't go wrong with. If you have enough people in your group, the star of our meal was the black truffle fried rice with wild rice (it is a large dish to be shared with at least 5-6 people). If I lived in Vancouver, this is a restaurant I would come back for because the food quality is equal to the value it costs. My only note is that I wish the restaurant were more transparent about fees. We found out later that we were charged $12 for tea (party of 4) and .50 cents for a take out box. Finally tried Seaport City and wow! They completely transformed the old Milestone's space above Whole Foods into this gorgeous spot with fish tanks and downtown views. Parking was surprisingly easy - they validate in the P2 garage, just register your plate and it's free. The elevator goes straight up which is super convenient. The dim sum here is incredible. Had the har gow, salted egg custard buns (the filling literally flows out!), and their black truffle fried rice which blew my mind. Everything tasted so fresh and you can tell they use quality ingredients. Service was really friendly too - our server kept our tea topped up and explained dishes without rushing us. Yeah it's pricier than typical spots but totally worth it for the quality and atmosphere. Definitely our new go-to dim sum place! read more

Park in the parking structure in P2, don't pay for parking yet but instead input your license on the tablet in the restaurant for 2 hours of free parking The dimsum is pretty good but it's definitely more of an upscale experience. You get a menu to fill out. We got har gao, fried shrimp rice roll, baked bbq pork bao, spicy cucumbers, siu mai, and egg yolk bun. The hargao is pretty good- large pieces and comes with 5. Same with the siu mai. Skip on the egg yolk bun- it's fine but any dimsum place makes it just as good. The baked bbq pork bao whispers resemblance to the tim ho wan one but I think I like Tim ho wan's better? I strangely really enjoyed the cucumbers Service is pretty great though as well as the tables and ambiance. The teapots are cute A bit overpriced in my opinion but definitely a great option if you're craving a nice dimsum meal. Haven't tried others in the area though! Comparing to LA/san Gabriel valley places from California. Portions are on the larger side though so it would've been more fun to come with a larger group. read more

We made reservations for 10am (opening). The restaurant is very luxurious feeling and aesthetically appealing. The food was delicious -- every single thing we ordered was just good. Service was good as well. It did get busy beginning around 10:40am. I definitely recommend making a reservation if you plan to go. Looked for a dim sum spot to eat while we were in town and found this spot. Service: the service was good. We showed up 45 mins before lunch service ended and had no issues with ordering or food coming out. Workers didn't bother us after we ordered. Ambiance: clean - no complaints. Food: we pretty much ordered everything on the menu for dim sum. The shrimp dumplings came with 5 and were loaded with shrimp filling unlike other places. We ordered the green pea plate and that was perfect balance. The fried tofu was to die for, crispy on the outside and very soft in the inside. You could tell it's homemade and not frozen. I'm normally not a fan of the su mai, and those were the best I've had. Everything was good overall and would highly recommend. Would love to try the dinner menu one of these days. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our dim sum lunch at Seaport City Seafood Restaurant. The spot opened ~2022. It's in a good space; there's a decent size main hall, with a few private rooms that's used during dim sum as well. We sat in one of the private rooms and there were a couple of folks who were assigned to the room who took great care of us. Service was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed all the food we ordered! Aside from the usual har gow, siu mai, spare ribs, Seaport City Seafood Restaurant also carries a few unusual dishes - some traditional but not commonly round at other dim sum spots, and others that were innovative / created by them. I especially liked the rice noodles wrapped shrimp + crunchies dish and the savory home-town mochi dumpling; my hubby especially liked the seafood tart w/wasabi sauce, which was recommended to us by our waitress. It sounds like they have some membership program, which might be a good deal for regulars. Since we were visiting from out of town, it's not for us. We came in for the dimsum and it did not disappoint! Everything was fresh and well made. The har gaow was one of the best we had, it has very thin skin and the shrimp inside was flavourful and fresh. The other highlight was the crispy shrimp rice roll. While the food was fantastic, the service was sub par. They lost my reservation and claimed that I never made one. Rather than apologizing, they put us in this huge table for the 6 of us that we hardly can talk to each other. Service was VERY slow. I can't even remember when we finally had our tea served. Asked for chilli oil to a few different servers to finally get our chilli oil. No checking in for plate change and that we had to request and again, waited for a long time and we gave up. At the end, the server was very pushy sell the $1000 gift card without explaining what it is. For a Michelin recommended restaurant, I think they really need to retrain their staff to be at the level where this restaurant should be. It's too bad, that it doesn't leave us a good impression at the end despite the delicious food we had. read more

Free 2-hour parking - same parkade as WholeFoods on P2. Direct elevator to the restaurant. High ceiling and create a very open ambiance. Attentive service - changes our plates throughout dinner with tea refill. The overall food quality is good - the vinegar ribs has the right tangyiness and crispy. The truffle chicken is interesting while I'm not entirely sure if the flavour profile matches. The steam fresh cod is a bit of disappointment - I would expect a restaurant like this would do well on a basic seafood dish - many scales still on the fish and it is overcooked. And the garlic stir fried veggie needs to follow up given the slow service. They offer free green bean dessert but we don't like it so we order other dessert on menu. The almond dessert soup with egg white has good flavor however it is not hot enough - kind of lurk warm. I would definitely hope they can have a better timing and sequence on how they are going to serve the dishes - from light dishes to dishes with more intense flavour. But they just serve whatever without putting much thought on the progressive dining experience. Maybe we will give it another try on a less busy day, hoping they can offer a better dining experience. read more

I had a great experience Dim Sum last time here, gave them 5 stars. This time I tried dinner. It was a very mixed experience with some dishes very delicious consistent with previous experience. Like the mixed eggplants and green beans is super delicious, and the mushroom with chicken is really tasty too, though the chicken texture is hard and dry. The other two dishes were really unpleasant: mix vegetable stir fry was nothing like the photos on the menu, and really tasteless. And the braised pork ribs with shrimp paste, I don't know what happened to the dish, but you can see from the picture, it's pork belly not rib, and completely all fat, has a really unpleasant bitter taste at $40. If they ran out of pork ribs, they should just inform us, instead of this really awful full fat belly. My family was shocked at how nasty the pork belly quality and taste is. I still think I would come back to Dim Sum, but the dinner really disappointing consider how inconsistent the dishes are. read more

A friend recommended Seaport City for dimsum. Bonus: they take reservations via Seven Rooms! We still had a bit of a wait, but I'm so glad we reserved even though it was a Friday because every table was full. Ordering is by menu. In addition to dim sum, they also had stir fries, congees, and cold dishes, but with just 2 adults and 2 toddlers, we could only eat so much, so we only got dimsum. We got the usual favorites: - Har gow (steamed shrimp dumplings): 5 per order, and each one is huge with a thin crystal skin and at least 2 whole shrimp - Siu Mai: with shrimp and scallops - a flavor bomb - probably one of the best siu mai I've had - Sticky rice wrap with fried scallops: so generous on the filling with lots of meat and tons of flavor - Asparagus and seafood dumpling: tons of flavor, 3 per order - BBQ pork buns: all lean meat inside! - Rice rolls with prawns: it had a sort of medicinal taste. Texture wise, it was a bit soft and gummy for me, so I much preferred the har gow - Egg tarts: freshly baked! Pricing is $10.99 for a small, $11.99 for medium, $12.99 for large dishes, and $13.99-14.99 for the special dishes. Highlights were the steamed dumpling items (har gow, siu mai, seafood dumpling). Everything had great flavor and was generous on the seafood. Staff were friendly and speak English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. This was a great dimsum experience, and it makes me sad that we don't have places like this in the Bay Area! read more

My friends and I had wanted to come for dim sum, but it wasn't available for dinner. Oh well, we looked through the menu and ordered some other dishes. While each dish looked really pricey, they came in huge quantities! Many of their dishes are made using high quality or somewhat ingredients too (truffle oil with our chicken, preserved plum with our sweet and sour pork) so for the quality and how much you're getting it was totally worth it. Service was amazing too! Our waiters came by frequently to check up on us, refill our tea, swap out dirty plates with fresh ones, and in general were extremely friendly, patient, and helpful in answering all our questions about the menu. We even got some complimentary desserts! Not only that, the place was clean and decor was on point, with peaceful instrumental music playing in the background. Giving the food 5 stars and the service 4 stars. We made reservations for a table for 9 at 2 pm. The restaurant wasn't too busy on a Saturday afternoon. Keep in mind the restaurant closes at 3 and reopens for dinner. The beef chow fun and the pei dan jook was on the top of the list for me. Other things we ordered fong jaw (chicken feet), ha gow (quite good), siu ma (good), green chive and shrimp dumpling, veggies, egg tart, lava bun, shrimp wrapped with tofu wrap, fried Chinese football, shrimp and beef chern fun, lo bat go and two different types of tea. Everything tasted fresh and perfectly steamed. Our only complaint was the service was slow and the owner probably doesn't know how to do business. We ordered $400 worth of food and she still charged us for the Togo boxes. I would assume it could be waived but she chose not to. read more

Met up with fellow Yelpies to up my Dim Sum game. Did you know that Dim Sum means 'touch the heart' in Cantonese. I've had it several times before but just haven't felt comfortable when it's brought up in conversation & selective items are mentioned. So here I was determined to fix that. If my memory of each item would fail me later on, I knew my trusty cell pix wouldn't! Seaport City Seafood Restaurant is new to Vancouver, in the former location of Milestones restaurant. High ceiling, cool lighting, comfortable chairs, it looks totally remodeled & has no resemblance to when Milestones occupied this space. Came highly recommended by Yelpie - Sun G. who had dinner here a few weeks ago. Where he goes, I go. This makes for the second Michelin Star awarded restaurant I've been to now this past weekend. Total coincidence. Back to Fast Food joints I go to from tommorow onwards - LOL! My gosh where to start ... everything was on point fresh & tasty! Yelpie - Carolyn thx for the help ordering & recommendations. We had 11 items. Please see the bill pic I've posted. Everything pretty much was a hit taste wise but I'll mention 3 standouts for your consideration. 1) BBQ Pork Buns in crispy layer. Surprising hit with all of us. 3) The Passion Fruit Coconut Jelly - if the server puts this on the table early, do not eat it till the end! All told it all came to $50 (including tip) Cad each, which is like $23US! LOL. There definitely is more bang for your buck going with Dim Sum. Amazing Chinese/Cantonese food, authentic experience through and through Food wise, if you are looking for an upscale and delicious Chinese dining experience, look no further. Every dish is excellently executed. I think even better than my mom's cooking - and when it comes to Chinese food, I have no higher compliment. My favourites included the truffle chicken and the cumin lamb but everything was really good. The pea shoots were also perfectly done. Service was hilariously authentic. While it was clearly upscale cuisine and the decor reflected this, the service was simultaneously upscale and also what I would expect from a mom and pop Chinese restaurant. They changed our plates every 20-30min, but when I asked for more tea, the server gestured on the table behind me in a "help yourself" kind of motion. The server also literally laughed in my face when I asked if we could split the bill lol. All of which is just what I would expect at a mom and pop Chinese restaurant where they're not trying to impress you with service, but when you're paying $100 per person they could probably dial that in more. Also be prepared to point at pictures on an iPad to order dishes if you don't speak Cantonese (this is actually a fairly low barrier). Tip: they do cover parking but don't tell you when you make your reso, so if you park in the building remember your stall and license for parking validation. This is the kind of place I would take my parents. Will return for more absolutely delicious authentic Chinese food! read more

Severely overrated. We came during a very busy Saturday with high hopes and expectations since the displays of Michelin stars were displayed and honored in the front. It's definitely a higher-scale experience in terms of Dim Sum, but the flavors weren't comparable to some of the hole-in-the-wall dim sums I've had around the country. The service was good and the portions were very generous. The food on the other hand, was short on flavor, not just a few, but most, if not, all of the items we had ordered. Some of the dim sum uses very fresh ingredients, but just lack the flavor profile that would take it over the top to 5 stars. We paid and left a tip to the server, but server had remarked: "why so little tip?" even though we had tipped the 15%. Just an odd experience overall, I wouldn't come back. read more

Prices were a bit high but comparable to other restaurants. They ranged from $9.99 to $13.99. The decor was nice and modern, with some tables getting the Mountain View. There were private rooms available too. The place got really busy after 12 pm on Sunday. Best to make reservations. Free 2 hour parking in the building, register your car plate at the reception. We ordered a fair bit of food for 4. Everything was good though the skin of the beef rolls could be thinner and softer. Maybe it hardened a bit by the time I got to eating it. Highlights for me: - Spring rolls. I usually don't like it but their version is good. Very light crispy skin, chockfull of shrimp and filling. Also not oily at all. - Passionfruit coconut jelly. The slight tartness made this the perfect dessert to finish the meal. Not too sweet either. - Siu Mai It has scallop and that's the first thing I tasted. The sweetness of the scallop. The seafood tart reminded me of a dish though I could not recall it. Creamy and with plenty of seafood. The bbq pork bun with crispy layer is similar to the one at Tim Ho Wan (HK Michelin star) but it pales in comparison. If you don't compare, it's good here. Why 4-stars? Service is quite lacking here. It is hit and miss. Quite ok in the beginning but not at the end. They missed out on a dish. We ordered 12 dishes but they only keyed in 11. Then they took a long time to give us the bill and the machine. I noticed after we paid that they overcharged us on the tea. They charged for 5 but there were 4 diners. Our fault for not checking the bill. I would still come back here for the dimsum and to try the dinner dishes in future. This is also one place I will bring visitors and guests here. read more

Seaport City Seafood is a restaurant synonymous to the largesque opulent restaurant in global cities in China like Shanghai, Hong Kong and Beijing. Standard affair. No expense was spared in the making of this restaurant in decor, dinner ware, and service. Food was also top notch. I would say overall the meal is refined, elevated, with exquisite ingredients and flavour leaning on the traditional side as opposed to the innovative side. Good cooking award of Bib Gourmand is adequately dispensed. The menu is extensive and far reaching. Three master chefs in one place must be interesting politics-wise. But the food was delicious and clean tasting. Definitely would like to come back to try some of the other 500 items. read more

We had stopped through Vancouver on our way to Whistler and made a reservation here. It was a bit challenging for 8 people to reserve from the states as they don't have an online form or email. I had to get my Canadian cousin to help me book it! There is a garage attached so they validate parking as long as you have the license plate. This is a more high end dim sum restaurant that impressed my party as you don't see this often in Austin. But this was very reminiscent of places I've been to in Toronto. We had ordered a lot of food and learned very quickly their dim sum portions are much larger than most. We had a lot of leftovers but everything tastes great and fresh. I loved their siu mai and the BBQ pork buns. They also have a fried ha gow which was new for me. We liked this place so much we came back a second time after our Whistler days. We knew how to order less this time around, but we did also order a spicy crab dish which they showed us the crab before it's cooked. Very flavorful and fresh! Service was not bad. It was nicer the first time around. They didn't seem as attentive the second time and we had a language barrier issue too with our waiter. Both times they forgot something we ordered, so just pay attention to the receipt because they cross items out as they are delivered. read more

Dim Sum in late January/2024: Food: 006 - Dumplings with scallops and pork: basically siu mai but with scallops instead of prawns. Good. Nothing memorable about it though... 016 - Wild mushrooms with pork, and beet dumplings: this got forgotten by the staff and we had to ask for it well after our meal was over. But it was worth the wait. WOW. The beets aren't just for the gimmicky pink wrappers - this was really quite lovely and worth the wait. Definitely worth ordering! 024 - Rice rolls with eggs and beef: this was really good. I have never understood the point of rice rolls as they're usually just bland gummy goo with over-cooked prawns inside. But these were delicious!! I loved that beautiful hit of orange peel (don't add any chili oil on this because it seems to destroy/delete the delicate orange peel flavour that makes this SING on your tongue). (FYI - the photo for item 022 - crispy prawn rice rolls does not do it justice- we saw the table beside us have it and omg it looked amazeballs and I'm going to order it next time!) 029 - Pan fried dumplings with chives: wow, really good rendition of this dim sum classic! 036 - pan fried pork buns: these were good for what they are. I'm just not a big fan of this dish in general because it's just too filling. But yes, if you like those fluffy pork buns, this is delicious. 092 - braised tofu with "wild" mushrooms: well, I'm not sure WHO thinks white button mushrooms are "wild" but yeah, we got two kinds of mushrooms, some greens and tofu. It was "good" - but I've had better iterations of this dish in many other places, especially for $29. We also ordered a bottle of their Alsatian Pinot Gris, which was a bit on the sweet side, but otherwise not acidic and went well with the food. They do not offer wines by the glass, just whole bottles of wine, whiskey, etc at a pretty decent mark up. Service: Wow, I have no idea how they got a Michelin rating, because the screaming angry male manager on Saturday morning was definitely not cool. He was horrendous. The plucky female hostess defied him and sat us anyway since we had made reservations and had been waiting patiently for 10 minutes while many others who arrived after us got seated. He wanted to give our table to someone else. The staff seemed very harried and frantic because I think he set the tone. I noted that once he calmed down about 40 minutes later, the service was much better, more personable. But that dude is toxic. I've decided to not rate based on the toxic manager because clearly he's a terror to the staff and it's not their fault. Ambience: it was as brightly lit as an operating room at 11:45am for dim sum. They had all the pot lights and chandeliers on at full power. Aside from that, yeah it was a nicely decorated over the top opulent Chinese banquet style room. I went for dim sum with just my husband, and my recommendation is that you get 4-6 people, not just for ordering more dishes, but you will get less hassle being seated (even with a reservation made weeks in advance). I would be open to trying their dinner service, although the eye-watering prices will mean it has to be a special occasion experience. Oh, and, I got locked in the bathroom stall because the lock mechanism is dicey. I have not been to a high end Chinese restaurant for a long time and really like the bright and modern decor. The staff is very attentive and made sure we got our parking registered. What is missing from this place is a "memorable" dish. They have a good selection of Cantonese, Chiuchow and Szechuan food while it's hard to pinpoint a dish I that really like. Overall the best dish was the Chiuchow appetizers which has good flavor but the duck can more tender. The tiger shrimps were huge and fresh where the vermicelli noodles is still chewy. The dessert soup with different types of beans and taro is surprisingly good to end the meal. read more

We came in around 12:30 on January 8th We were seated right away and given a pot of red tea as we decided on what to order The ambiance is very nice The seafood tart was the standout dish we had. Really flakey and buttery 10/10 would order again The staff were really attentive and quick. read more
