The hamburger was about the same quality as McDonald's hamburger, but not as flat. Friend had brisket, sausage and rib plate. He said it tasted like a microwave meal. No flavor except for the bbq sauce. Beans were the same. Best tasting thing was the pickles. The peach cobbler was even gross. Undercooked and not sure where the peaches came from. Waited 50 minutes to find out his order was given to someone else. Asked for ketchup and mustard and took another ten minutes. Hands down BEST Texas BBQ I've had! My husband is not a real big fan of smoked bbq meat but he was way impressed with his brisket!! Tender, juicy, just the right amount of sauce and not an overbearing smoke flavor- in other words, just perfect! We purchased the brisket plate which came with fresh sliced bread, potato salad like grandma's and DELICIOUS homemade beans. Stopped in on spur of the moment using Yelp reviews from memory. This place is tiny and could only serve maybe 12 people if they wanted to dine in and it would be a tight! Old tables, old chairs, strange eclectic decorations arranged haphazardly with a collection of more mismatched chairs then the place has room. It needed a good cleaning. We ordered a chopped Bbq sandwich, and a two meat combo plate of brisket and sausage with potato salad and beans. Started off with sweet tea and it was excellent. Not too sweet....perfect. The bun of the chopped beef sandwich was already soggy when I picked it up. The chopped brisket was lean but it just didn't have a lot of flavor. Very disappointed. We were also disappointed in the brisket as it was bland and didn't have the desired smokey flavor and seasonings. The potato salad and beans were okay. The sausage was the best. The service was excellent. The food came fast and the owner and server were attentive. It does not matter what the hours say. This place is open sometimes. You just are never sure when. Right now it is open from roughly 10a to 6-7p. It is very hit or miss. The place is very small with 2 tables and a short counter. This is really not a dine in place. It is much more suited to take out. There is usually only one person working. It looks like my previous review was taken down, so I feel obligated to make sure the review gets posted again. I don't know why there are so many positive reviews given my experience was so bad - maybe they changed over the years or they just didn't like us. Anyway I came here back in 2009 with a work buddy to try their BBQ. The place was and still is broken down and very little space to sit and eat, but we tried. I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich and soft drink and my buddy did the same. Well, there was a bit of wait, and when the sandwiches came out, I should have asked for my money back. The buns were so old that chunks of bread kept falling out of them. The bun was dried out and stale, and fell apart when trying to each the sandwich. I bit into it and got the taste of the two large pieces of fat with a sliver of meat attached. It was so greasy and gross I threw mine away. My buddy took one bite also and spit it out. We left and have never been back. I don't know who runs it now, but I just can't ever go back no matter how many people say it is great; it was a really bad first impression! This place is terrible. A friend and I stopped there a couple of weeks ago and we both ordered a brisket sandwich. The instant we walked in we should have known this was a mistake. 2 or three men sitting around, not eating, just visiting I guess. The guy that took our order and disappeared was filthy, looked liked someone from "Deliverance" movie and charged us $8 for each sandwich! Got to our car quickly and my friend was very hungry and took a bite of hers and said this is not good, I don't think I'll eat any more. The minute I looked at mine and saw what was supposed to be brisket, there was no way I was going to eat whatever it was, and also smelled bad! It looked like limp boiled meat. The sauce had no resemblance to barbecue sauce, very pale and watery...... Several years ago when a nice lady ran this little place, it was a wonderful place to eat, great barbecue and she always had a homemade dessert each day. Sadly, this is not the case.
