1st time. Got 2 Yocco dogs. They were ok, but nothing special. Maybe I'm spoiled by Chicago dogs with lots of toppings.

Yocco's doesn't proclaim itself to be anything fancy and you should treat it as such. It's a great local community spot serving cheap and tasty food at a reasonable price. They've been around for a 100+ years and though it's still just a hot dog at the end of the day, it's worth celebrating and participating in their local history. Their classic Yocco dog is a bit on the smaller side, with a soft and chewy bun, but their take on a cheesesteak was pretty good. The highlights are their house mustard sauce (ketchup is available in packets on the side but possibly discouraged) which is a tangy, flavorful mix. The pickles and bell peppers on the cheesesteak were fantastic and paired well with the mustard as well. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat. First time at this location, lots and lots to choose from. The staff was friendly and patient as I slowly decided what to order. Clean and nice seating area. Yocco's is an institution in the Lehigh Valley. I art at their Fogelsville store on Route 100. The hot dogs are delicious. You tell them what you want on it and it's done. I ordered a side of fries which are very good. Simple place known for their dogs. Plenty of parking. Friendly workers. Take credit cards. Have a hunger for a hot in Allentown area, go to Yocco's. If you grew up in Brooklyn, NY then moved to NJ (like me) your automatically a hot dog afficianado! I certainly am. Yocco's Dogs - Not bad, but certainly not great! Their chili is basically watered down chili and you hardly get any on the dog. The dog itsel is nothing to write home about in any meaningful way! Today I wanted a dog, so I decided to try the two most talked abou places in the Lehigh Valley.Yocco's and Pott's. I will try Willy Joe's soon. The only difference between these two places is that Pott's offers saurkraut as a topping, where Yocco's doesn't. These two places are literally the same. And when compared to a NY or Jersey dog? Visited the one in Allentown,The line was pretty long but it went quick,I had two dogs with everything that was good but could have a little more sauce. I only have one problem for health reasons why the employees don't wear hair nets.one of the males had very long hair that was just hanging out. Stopped in at this location of Yocco's as they are one of the few in the area currently offering dine-in. This is not our normal go to Yocco's location but might be going forward for the fact I liked that this one took credit cards. Most Yocco's only take cash. Food was the same as any other Yocco's I've been to. We enjoy the cheese dogs with everything on them along with the Pirogies--just wished they offered sour cream for them. The crinkled fries are usually on the crispier side, which is to our liking. Whenever we get a Yocco's craving, we drive the hour to get here. Maybe that makes us a little crazy to drive that far for hot dogs, fries, and Pirogies, but we enjoy them! read more

It's funny how you don't always think to review low profile basic quick food joints, but today I did - so here's my thoughts on Yocco's on Hamilton - which I visit regularly when in the area. Just drop your expectations about what you think a hot dog should be, and dig what they do with doggies. Soft steamed rolls, nicely spiced meaty chili sauce, onions, and a well grilled dog. It's a beautiful thing. Trying to minimize carbs, I usually get the double dog (2 on one bun) with everything... and then cave and get the pierogies too - fried Mrs. T's, delightful. If you also want a burger, cheese steak, or ripple cut fries, you're in luck. Ordering here is kinda odd, because the person at your end of the counter offers and gets the drinks, and then rings you up, while they yell your order down to the other end where the grill people are. Sometimes the grill people have questions and you end up yelling to them yourself. Whatever, the orders are always right and the food's fresh and hot. Room for improvement: If your sign says you're open til 9, don't act all closed when I show up at 8:51. Also, given your menu, a couple of simple cold sides could work well. How's about a cup of creamed cabbage or potato salad? And maybe one day you'll offer -gasp- a veggie dog option too? You might think your customers aren't looking for that, but you could draw new ones by having the choice (like my vegetarian husband who can't eat food from your place with me). I adore your soul-filling food, and no one wants to mess with the formula... but pivot a little. Love you, Yocco's! read more

Crispy hotdogs just the way I like them. Grabbed some the "Yocco" way (mustard, onion, chili) as well we a ketsup and mustard (my standard go to). Think they made a mistake in the spelling. Think they meant to call it Yucco's? Was in town for a powerlifting competition for my son and was told by many people that I needed to try these hot dogs. So after the competition we went to this disaster of a restaurant. First the dinning area closed at four. So we had to go to the drive-thru and eat in the car. Now on to the food. The hot dogs were generic tasteless dogs. Then the chili sauce tasted like bad cough syrup. The onions had no flavor and just added a crunch to offset the soggy bun. While visiting Allentown I was told I had to go to this local chain to try the hot dogs! Many cities have hot dog stands with their own variation that makes it unique and I've been to some of the best in the country already. So Yocco's had to step it up. Unfortunately I didn't find anything amazing here. The hot dogs are supposedly steamed but tasted just like any store bought variety to me. No snap to the skin, just a regular sized skinny hot dog. The bun was nothing special. They give you onions and top it off with their famous 'sauce' which was basically just a type of chili mixture with a strange spice mix. It reminded me of the Greek style chili they put on spaghetti in Cincinnati. I tasted notes of cinnamon, clove, maybe allspice or nutmeg? Not what I think of when I see the word chili and not really that great. It gave the hot dog a dusty muddy taste and I won't be rushing back for more. Allentown locals seem to love it. What I did love was the atmosphere. It's dripping with old timey-ness, over 100 years old. The origin story involves a horny Italian named Iacocca who decided to serve hot dogs when a pretty lady asked him if he had one for her. His name got tongue twisted into Yocco and a legend was born! I'll skip the dogs next time but there is lots of other stuff on the menu. Steak sandwiches, deep fried cheese pierogi (another local fave I guess) and other fried food including some great onion rings! Avoid the horrid chili sauce and soak in the nostalgia and this place is definitely worth a visit! $2 a hot dog isn't bad for a cheap lunch either, just dont expect much. read more

Just so you know a frozen doggie pack is nothing compared to having it at an actual Yoccos. The dogs are small and you can easily eat two, with a side of perogies. Ate at this hot dog place in Allentown called Yocco's. Two friends who are retired PA State Police Troopers gave their personal thumbs up. It was great, good food and reasonably priced.
