This may be the best steaksandwich in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas! They are so good!! My personal favorite is the regular Morty's with sauce, pickles and grilled onions and I add cooper sharp cheese. My son's favorite is the Cali with lettuce, tomato and grilled onions and heavy on the mayo - he also requests that they put the lettuce and tomato on top cause otherwise they put it under the hot meat as their standard practice and that makes it kind of cook and steam the veggies and is definitely not a texture or taste him or I like. The fries are good too. The chicken fingers were disappointing. But seriously, trust us on the steaksandwiches - they're fantastic! And the service is great - super kind and friendly workers and very attentive to your needs and requests. Also they're open on Sunday if you happen to be visiting the Emmaus Farmer's Market which is just outside their doors. It's a great environment for just relaxing and enjoying. I started this Sunday with a beautiful drive up to Emmaus in the Lehigh Valley. After a near week of rain, today's blue sky and high white clouds were just what the doctor ordered to escape the overcast doldrums. The rolling hills that sprang up on approach made for deep green vistas as from the heights into the vales. Emmaus sat in the bottom of one valley like a ripe strawberry waiting to be picked. Morty's was my destination, as I was again in hot dog addiction mode, and this part of Pennsylvania has a goodly supply of huts, houses, Potts and frankfurter barns for the choosing. I parked in the side lot and walked in to a near empty dining room and a smiling cashier happy for some business. As a first timer, she gave me the nickel tour of the menu. I went with the Chicago Dog and Papa Sarge's Pierogi six pack. Both were very strong representations of their respective genres. The ChiDog was a thicker hottie with topping of yellow mustard, pickle slices, celery salt, onion, sport pepper, tomato and tater, all stuffed into a 6" seeded torpedo roll. I added a long squirt of the ketchup table rocket. It was well spiced and textured and gave my jaw a workout. The potato/cheese pierogi were deep fried to a light crisp, with pleasant mashed potato cheesy stuffing. I found it a better combination than standard frenchies. Morty himself walked by and we had a brief chat about business and his cheffing priorities. He cared about proper provisions and found the best available to satisfy customers. He was sincere to his core. As a representative of fast food in this humble burg, Morty's was better than a bit of alright. Emmaus is in something of a time warp, and deserves all the 5 Star accolades it can grab. read more

Posted tonight from Morty's Steaks in Emmaus. A great deal of people told me that the cheesesteak here was formidable and was a contender in the Lehigh Valley. I was excited to see that they carry Cooper Sharp, they use a Liscio's roll, and they source their meat locally. All signs were pointing to a small victory. This steak was ... alright. The liscio roll was unseeded and had a very different flavor from its seeded counterpart. I enjoyed the small dice on the onion. The meat was chopped very fine and was a little flat. There was not enough cheese on this unfortunately. The flavor was still pretty good, I'm not tearing this apart, but to be up there with the bigger hitters in the LV, you have to bring more than this one did in my opinion. The employee who helped me was very nice and the price wasn't bad, but this wouldn't make my top 5 in the LV list personally. Lindsey is the face of Morty's and ALWAYS has a smile and very pleasant and welcoming personality. No matter if she's all alone or slammed! I always get the small cali chicken cheese steak (added paprika to the meat while cooking) and have never been left down. It's loaded with meat, fresh tomatoes and lettuce. The cheesesteaks were just not good. The meat was dry, "special house sauce" (I can't remember the name) was boring and flavorless, toppings weren't great (but really, all of that could've been fine. The most egregious issue was definitely the meat-- when cheesesteaks are basically all you serve and your cheesesteaks are 95% meat, the meat really needs to be excellent). My hubby and I went to Marty's for lunch... both getting pepper steaks with Wiz. In addition I got pierogis and he got fries. Steaks were very tasty. The meat was tender and well seasoned. Just the right amount of sweet peppers and cheese wiz. The roll was soft but sturdy enough to hold its own against the filling. The pierogi were AMAZING! Morty's is a relatively new addition to the downtown Emmaus area, it is located right off the triangle. The menu here is simple and small, they have steak sandwiches, hot dogs, and fries. That's it, if your not a fan of those items don't bother to come. The steak sandwich was one of the better ones I have had in the area but not the best. I got the 8 inch and that was more than enough meat to fill me up. The prices were pretty decent, anymore if two people can eat for under $40 I consider that a win. I would say this place is mostly for the takeout crowd, but they do have a small seating area. They even have a small parking lot next to the building. The hours are kind of limited, they are closed Monday and Tuesday. The staff was friendly and nice and the service was quick, we were in and out in just a few minutes. I frequent to emmaus lately and was looking for a quick place to grab lunch with my five year old. I looked up mortys and saw these amazing cheesesteaks and homemade pierogies. The ambiance was ao cute and it was nice taking a walk over to the restaurant in the cute town area. We ordered a kids hotdog w fries, cheesesteak with wiz, and 6 pierogies. Our order was taken promptly and we sat at a cute bar in the window. We colores while we waited. The food was ready very quickly and everything was fresh and hot. The pierogies were unreal! So so good! I already know ill be granbing those to go when im in the area again. The cheesesteak was really food too but it seemed there wasnt even cheese for me. I also would prob try american next time and see if they can mix it in and may even ask for extra cheesesteak. I dont think my son liked the hotdog but the fries were great! We just ate lunch there this week and were amazed how delicious the steak sandwiches were and a nice variety of them. Each of us had a different sandwich and enjoyed them so very much. The good: packed with delicious meat! Flavor is great! Unfortunately my order arrived ice cold. I had to reheat everything. "Foil" they use to wrap the cheese steak in is thinner than tissue hence, the first bite was half paper/foil. Pierogi's could use an option for sauteed onions as they are quite dry. Is there sauce or isn't there sauce? I ordered it but if there is, it is such a small amount it's not detectable. I ordered sweet peppers but didn't get them. Maybe I'm just cranky about the ice cold food. Again, flavor is great and nobody packs the meat in like Morty's! Prices are very reasonable so I would order again. read more

After the closing of the famous Brass Rail, was hoping to find a good steak sandwich. We bought 5 of them for our family and really disappointed. We got two California cheese steaks which neither had much cheese inside but they were also very dry with not much Mayo to moisten them. The other 3 were Morty cheese steaks. I had asked for everything on one but had no pickles or just a few but loaded with a lot of hot peppers that I had to pick a pile out or seemed it was just a hot pepper sandwich instead. The meat was nicely filling the roll but it had an odd taste to it like I never tasted before and could not finish it. Our family all agreed the meat tasted odd. The place is small but sufficient tables if you want to dine in, parking was not a problem at all and was hopeful on getting a good sandwich since they had a small line to order for eat in or take out. Will probably not go back since the taste of the meat was a turn off and too dry for my liking! read more

I had seen this place had opened on Facebook, so when I found myself traveling thru the center of Emmaus and found a convenient parking place, I thought I would give it a try. Got the 8" steak with provolone, sauce, grilled onions, and sweet peppers. Paid cash to avoid the 3% credit card fee. Soda tap is not working so I had a diet Coke from the cooler. Roll, sandwich, were very good. I am uses to watching the grill turn out the food, this was different. I am a patron of Carl's Corner in Bethlehem and Nazareth. Really miss the old George's Light Lunch from Broad Street in Bethlehem where the steak was individually cooked flat on the grill. read more

Great place, great food. Right on the triangle. Minimalist eating area with tables and cool window seating. Menus all over for convenience as well as procedure for ordering. We had the chicken cheese steak to go. Nice young ladies that took our order and filled our request. Waited about five minutes for our order to be filled. Called our name and out the door. Wow I guess they take reviews seriously! That's great! Previously we thought the steak sandwich was dry b/c of the fat roll and not enough sauce. Well all of that has seemed to change. It appears they are using different rolls, yummy, and not skimping on the sauce-great! the service was outstanding best I have seen in a long time. The place is extremely clean and inviting. Food came out very fast and was delicious. A small steak is more like a large and very filling.
