Jimmy's is a very small, unique experience. I almost drove past it but good thing I didn't. The menu is just original hot dog and chili hot dog. They have a sign telling you how to order (how many of original or how many chili). The people were very nice. The hot dogs are fried in a basting pan with a few inches of oil. My first bite (original - musturd, raw onions and a pickle) was incredible! The flavors were on point. The chili was a little sweet but still good. They also offer sauerkraut, ketchup or cheese. Now I live in Central jersey and took a ride all the way here just to fix a craving . I would normally go to Tobys in Pburg but I heard they went down hill since they changed owners . So I will give Jimmy's two thumbs up that are now my Tobys replacement . The hot dogs are great with one slight problem those little pickles don't work for the dog especially when they aren't as long as the dog . It's one of those amazing stories. Guy opens hotdog stand. Mall is built around hotdog stand and store front for hotdog stand is born. We happened on this place by chance during a road trip. It was nice to see the place has a HUGE following still after all these years when it first begun as just a tiny hotdog stand. Till this day Jimmy is still working there, good for him! Recently found out about Jimmy's Dogs from a friend, and I must say they are quite delicious. Sort of similar to a "Chicago Dog" with the pickle spear on it, but then goes back to simplicity with onions and mustard. Knowing that I would be in Easton on this day I did a quick search for food in the area on Yelp and came up with this place. After that I consulted my Roadfood book and what do you know, Jimmy's was in there. Jimmy's is located in a strip mall. Kind of odd, but I guess there are some things that aren't horrible at strip malls. When we got there, the line was just about out the door. Good sign. The menu is very simple. Hot dogs and drinks. I got two with everything which is mustard, onions and a pickle. The elderly gentleman behind the counter (Jimmy?) wrapped those up in some paper/plastic stuff and popped them in a paper bag with the chocolate milk I also ordered. Hot dogs are 95 cents plus tax. I think they come to $1 after tax. There are no tables inside so my friend and I just went out front and ate on the curb. I didn't mind it at all. It was the perfect place to sit with a couple of dogs. The dogs had a good bite. A bit difficult to eat with the big pickle on top, but that is a minor thing. The tall Greek guy and the short balding Greek guy have been sticking forks in hot oil and pulling out crispy skinned hot dogs since my dad was a kid and he'd go to their location at the Free Bridge between P'burg and Easton . Just plain Easton style dogs: Mustard, Raw Onion, a dill pickle sliced in half lengthwise. Get the chocolate milk with it. A very full meal will cost you less than a $5 bill. If you want to see the more interesting part of the Lehigh Valley (and the odd Maryland Fried Chicken that I worked in as a teen) take the trip to Jimmy's, right off Route 22 at the 25th Street exit. This is an Easton institution and for a good reason. Basically all Jimmy's sells is hot dogs and yet they frequently have lines out the door (don't worry, it usually moves quickly). I have moved from my hometown of Easton, but make it a point to stop at Jimmy's every time I am in town. I don't eat hot dogs that often, but Jimmy's are really worth it! Jimmy's is located in a strip mall and the storefront is very basic and there is no indoor seating, but you'll find people outside on benches or in their cars eating their hot dogs if they just couldn't wait until they got home. The staff is very friendly and you can order your hot dog with any topping combo they have (mustard, ketchup, pickle (not relish), or diced onions). They offer fountain sodas and different varieties of Keystone chips (another local favorite) if you want more than just a hot dog for your meal. Jimmy's should definitely be a stop on your itinerary if you are in Easton. read more

My fiance had always raved about Jimmy's (she grew up in Easton), so I decided we should stop by around the holidays. We were there around 2:30PM on a Monday and the line was out the door. Simple shop setup: a register and a guy asks you "How many?" Cash only and there is no seating at all. Everything is "to go." The menu consists of hot dogs, chips, and Coke products. I ordered 3 hot dogs "with everything" (mustard, raw onions, and a pickle). For $1.10 each, how could you not indulge in more than 1? Piping hot, fresh onions and pickles, and the buns are perfect New York style hot dog buns that were very fresh. Overall, the service was great, the food was delicious, and the quality was top notch. I realize that I may be in the minority here, but I was grossed out when the cook touched the hot dogs with his bare fingers. Actually, he grasped them with his fingernails. Being kind of a pushover, I paid for my meal and promptly tossed it in the trash. I can't say anything about how the food tastes, obviously. This is a simple fix and can easily be remedied by requiring cooks to use tongs to pick up hot dogs and place them into the bun.
