Omg this place is sooo GREAT!!!! We came here for the first time this past weekend & our experience was incredible. I did not get our waitress name but she was very sweet, informative about the Cuban food. She spoke Spanish, we spoke it back, understanding each other with different words and dialects. We basically ordered the same thing, Cuban Sandwich with fries and Maduro Fritos 100/100 all of it!!! The Cortadito Cubano was delicious, they only have regular milk and evaporated milk so keep that in mind (for my dairy free people) The ambience of the restaurant is so pretty & huge. I can't wait to be back to eat and drink more coffee!!! Gracias por la comida y información

If you are looking for authentic Cuban food and pastries this is the place for you. The ambience is amazing and the service was great. They also have Café con leche. We got there just in time for the lunch buffet and have it a try. The food was well seasoned and it was very authentic. The price for the buffet was a bit high, but they also have regular menu items and the price does include a beverage.

Located right next to La Marginal restaurant is a tucked away Cuban bakery and restaurant. They had many pastries and cakes to choose from but their main flavors are guava, coconut and cheese. They also serve food and Cuban coffee. Pastries were flaky and buttery but what I thought was whip cream on the cakes was meringue. I was not a fan. The service was great and they greeted us right away. Might have to come back another day to try their restaurant.

Came here on Friday to celebrate my dad's birthday, and it was absolutely fantastic! The food is made fresh to order, and the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. Space is clean and nice! Highly recommend this place--we'll definitely be back!

We made reservations in advance (there is a $5 per person reservation fee), and the flyer advertised hours from 10am-2pm. However, when we arrived just before 11am, the restaurant was still closed. After checking in about our reservation, we were eventually seated and able to order drinks, which were brought out promptly. The buffet itself wasn't ready until around 11:45am, which was a bit of a wait, but once it opened, the food did not disappoint. There was a good variety of options, with the shredded pork and creamy garlic chicken being the standout dishes--both were absolutely delicious. The coffee was also strong and flavorful, which I appreciated. The restaurant has a warm, rustic feel, though parking is limited to street parking only. The staff seemed a bit disorganized and confused at times, but they were friendly throughout the experience. My only suggestion would be to offer a way to toast bread and bagels, or at least make that option more visible to guests. Overall, the quality of the food was solid, and despite a few hiccups with timing and organization, I'd be open to coming back and trying their buffet again.

I came on a Wednesday evening and enjoyed a quiet dinner with my friend. The service was impeccable and the food came out quick. There's a small parking lot on the side of the hotel or you can find free street parking behind the building or along Navarro. Let's get into the food: *Costilla Lomo Salgado (short rib): 4/5 it was very flavorful and well cooked. Just a little on the saltier end but I ate it all! *Pescado Zarandeado (grilled red fish): 4/5 *Fall Back to You: Bourbon drink. Very tasty. Not too sour or sweet. I will definitely be coming back.

We started with a bright, perfect margarita, then dove into Cuban Black Bean Hummus with poblano corn relish that could make a preacher cuss. The Ceviche Del Dia was ocean-fresh and clean, and the Pescado Zarandeado, marinated in achiote and laid over Congri, tasted like it had a story to tell. We finished with a Pumpkin Cheesecake so rich and warm it could've been October on a plate. The service was tremendous, the kind that makes you feel looked after without ever being rushed. A meal at Ocho isn't just dinner; it's a memory you'll tuck away for the days you need to remember that the world can still be this beautiful.

Chef Waldo was incredibly generous, attentive, and made sure everyone felt welcome. It's rare to meet someone so passionate about both great food and outstanding customer service. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend El Ceviche De Waldito to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. Upon arriving, we were welcomed by the Chef Waldito with open arms, amazing energy and you can tell he absolutely LOVES what he does! The restaurant is small but cozy with accolades all over the wall. He explained the menu, the buffet and said he would make anything to order but recommended the buffet. How could you not have a smile on your face when someone talks straight from the heart about making food for his customers?!? We opted for the buffet which was all you can eat and his homemade tea for only $12!! He says he only makes enough money to cover the rent because feeding people was his love language. This touched us! You can get either one or both soups. He served a seafood soup and a chicken noodle soup. The soups was very flavorful and warm. He also serves bread with it as well. The chicken noodle soup was on point! It was flavorful, the noodles were cooked well and wasnt mushy. He will serve you the buffet. It had roasted chicken, then a chicken stew with Caribbean vegetables (plantains, yucca, etc), yucca, black or red beans and either white or rice with gandules. Being that my husband is from the islands, we know flavor! Unfortunately, the beans and the stew had little to no flavor, not even salt. Additionally, the beans were burnt. The arroz con gandules was odd. It lacked flavor and I'm not sure how you can get mushy but underdone rice. The stew tasted like it was just watered down. He graciously made fresh fried Maduros which were great and fried pork as well. The tea that came with it was very good! I'd definitely order a pitcher of it! It had a lot of fruit and floral notes for a tea! Unfortunately, the food missed the mark for us. We couldn't even finish it, let alone even eat half. We were so disappointed because you can tell he absolutely loves and lives off of his love for cooking. I don't know if my husband and I were off on our taste buds that day. I gave this a three star because Chef Waldito was such a pleasure to be around. He made it worth while and I don't want his restaurant to fail. If it were solely on the food, I truly hate to say it but I would have given it a one star. If there's a next time, we might just order off the menu! We do wish him luck and if he or someone that knows him reads this, we hope it will be more helpful than hurtful.
