The studio is so clean and the big windows looking out over the pine trees was very beautiful and classic PNW. Janet was so friendly and was such a knowledgeable instructor. She encouraged all of us to be playful and learn to understand and use our bodies better. She took time to listen to any history of injury, and tailored instruction to those that needed it, and offered helpful insights. You park out front, then walk through the breezeway, the turn right to take the stairs up to the studio. The front door is kinda around back from the main street, if that makes sense. The studio was not heated when I went. There are great props (straps and blocks are high quality and in good shape). When I first started yoga a few years back, I was nervous. I'm not exactly the sporty, flexible type. In fact, I've got range-of-motion issues in my upper body, so the thought of trying to be all athletic - in front of other people no less - was intimidating. I'd heard that yoga could eventually help me move without pain, so I sucked it up and started trying out studios. Of the many I've been to since, there are 3 that stand out. Yoga in the Center is one such standout. The studio itself is very spa-like in feel. It's all light walls, stone, & dark wood, with plenty of natural light. They have two practice rooms - a main room and a smaller one for prenatal and kid's yoga. I've only taken classes in the big room - it's very spacious, and the studio has a lot of props available for students to use as needed. It's lovely and comfortable. For me, what really makes the place are the teachers. I have been to studios where the teachers seemed frustrated with my inability to get myself into perfect alignment. I get it - I look like an amazon woman, therefore I *should* be strong enough to hold the pose. If my shoulders won't move that way, well, I should just try harder, and maybe one day I'll get it. Here, the teachers are encouraging, and helpful. The very first class I took with Carrie, she noticed me struggling and popped over to offer me a prop and an alternate version of the pose. I've learned so much from her. I've found that everyone here is really great at teaching to the whole class. When their schedule says All-levels, that's what they mean. The teacher will show different expressions of the pose so everyone can choose the version that works with their body - no judgment. Do be aware - Mill Creek Town Center is a busy place, and it can take a bit to find a parking spot in the evenings or on weekends. I give them a zero star if it was an option! They really deserve it! I didn't find this place as of a fun/ relaxing professional yoga class in my community. Be cautious for not wasting your time and your happy spirit to spend it in their place! participating in this class gave me a feeling like I've got hired by one of those not very friendly bosses and in the atmosphere that I finally got fired for being one minute late. Yeah, They kick me out of their place and not let me get into the class for being one minute late! but I am happy that I act wise enough to share this experience by reporting it to the people in my community! Morgan at the front desk who is one of the instructors and managers as she explained, clearly told me with a very unhappy attitude: "being late for once or twice is good enough for us to not let you doing this anymore!!!!" When she didn't let me get in into the class, I explained that this instructor doesn't mind for a minute late and that I have my friend already waiting there for me in the classroom. she was still persistent to give me a good lesson for being one minute late and replied that the class is full while I could see through the window it wasn't! (I even double checked the time with her to make sure if her clock is the same as mine and she said yes it is 11:01) I left the center and called to talk with Kerry, the owner and manager of this small L.L.C business). She was also supporting Morgan in our conversation by admitting that one or two minutes late for morning classes is not allowed, while is okay and understandable for evening classes due to the traffic situation and finding the parking spots! Nothing make sense here, does it? I'm not really sure why they did this to me and still puzzled out how that happened that Morgan didn't let a client step in the class for one minute late! It's unbelievable!!!! I spread this story to everyone in my network and let them know how they treat people in this place! read more

This will be my first review on Yelp. I was anti-Yoga for a long, long time. A lot of guys are. I had a change of heart late October trying to figure out how to help my low back pain that I have worked on with various Chiro's and physical therapy. I figured I'd give yoga a shot. Glad I did. My wife and I gave Yoga in the Center a try. We signed up for the 18 days for $18 and did a few classes. I was sold after attending a Somatic Restorative class. It felt awesome leaving the studio. For the month of December, I continued on and signed up for the unlimited month. I have done a class or two classes per day. There were a few missed days, but not too many. I have really enjoyed my time at the studio. Studio - It is very nice. One large studio and one small. The lobby area is nice, but can be a little cramped after class if it is a full class. I only show up with my house key and some clothes, so I do not use a locker and kind of stay out of the way. Scheduling - Their website and software is awesome. I set up an account and all I do is click on register for whatever class I am going to. I typically sign up about 1/2 hour before the class. Then, I walk over from my place and I am all set. I walk in, the front desk sees me and clicks me off the list on their end. It is easy peasy. Owners - The owners have been really great to me. I was really apprehensive doing the 18 days for $18 and figured I would get some hard sales call or some type of sales pitch at some point. I am not a big fan of pushy selling techniques, so I was relieved to not receive any pressure to purchase or sign up for a monthly package or pack of classes, etc.... It was more like, check us out, experience our study, if you like it, cool, if not, that is ok too.... I noticed another reviewer was bent out of shape not receiving a call after her 18 days were up, I was more relieved that I did not receive one and could make up my own mind without a sales pitch. I also thought I might wear out my welcome by doing so many classes in a month, but there has not been one time that an owner or teacher has shown any negativity or rudeness towards me. I was really grateful for that. The owners were always welcoming and I can't remember a time yet that they have not greeted me with a smile. Also, the owners and teachers have been very helpful. They have been very open to questions and will spend some time helping out. Teachers - I have attended a class with almost all of the teachers. I think there are two teachers I have not a class with. Each teacher is different of course, but I have found them all to be unique in their own ways and have usually enjoyed all my classes. If I haven't enjoyed a class, it was mainly due to me having different expectations of the class. For example, I wanted to do more strengthening poses, but it was more of a relaxed mellow type class. I thought the teachers in all of my classes were great, so nothing critical to say here! Classes - A variety of classes. I have tried quite a few, but have strayed away from the more advanced classes until recently. There's a good mix and a class for anybody, I think. Schedule - I think this would be my only critical mark. Some of the class times would be tricky to make if you are working a set 9 to 5 schedule or 8 to 6, etc.. Especially if you are a commuter. If you have flexibility, then, no biggie. In close, if you are looking to get into yoga or are looking for a new studio, give Yoga in the Center a try. The 18 days for $18 is a pretty great deal. The teachers here are truly wonderful. I don't have to plan my practice around certain days or times as I can honestly say I enjoy them all. A supportive friendly group of people and an absolutely beautiful studio space. I had not practiced yoga in years and this was the perfect place to begin again. Beautiful yoga studio with diverse classes, wonderful teachers, a non-competitive environment, and a great community of people! The teachers are extremely knowledgeable and create thoughtful sequences that are fun and different for every class. I love the diversity of classes and levels offered and appreciate how encouraging and helpful each of the teachers are. The "all level" classes truly are accessible to everyone and the teachers do an excellent job of offering different variations of the poses so each student can find what works best for their body without judgement. I also highly recommend one-on-one somatic sessions with Carrie! She has an incredible understanding of the body and has helped me release chronic tension and unhealthy holding patterns from old injuries that were limiting my range of motion and creating imbalance. I've learned so much from working with her and really appreciate all the care and attention she puts into each session. I can't say enough good things about how much Carrie's has helped me and recommend somatic sessions to anyone who is experiencing chronic pain, tension, or any other type of movement or structural imbalance in the body. read more

Yoga in the Center is a beautiful studio, warm and welcoming teachers and staff. Classes for all levels of students. Located in Mill Creek Town Center, second floor, above The Lodge. The views can be spectacular depending on the weather of course. I practice many styles of yoga and enjoy attending classes at a variety of local studios. I truly appreciate the care the teachers take to plan their classes, offer modifications, and encourage the use of props. Each teacher has a unique training background which allows students to experience diverse yoga traditions and styles. I love this! read more

Yoga in the Center (YiTC) is a warm, welcoming studio with all the best that yoga has to offer! The studio offers a broad array of classes for all levels of participants. I love that the teachers at YiTC offer modifications for poses, as not every pose is accessible to all bodies or body types. These modifications are offered in a manner so that one does not feel like the odd "man" out for not being able to get into a certain pose. As a person who has felt like they were "called out" for not being able to get into one pose or another at other local studios, I greatly appreciate the non-judgmental approach at YiTC. read more

I am new to Yoga, so I was a little apprehensive about attending my first class, but my experience at Yoga in the Center was great. The instructor, Judi, was very patient and supportive, and seemed genuinely concerned about her students. She offered alternative poses for anyone having difficulty. The classroom was comfortable and the other students were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this yoga studio. read more
