When providing this feedback, I was asked if I'd want someone coming into class 2-3 minutes late and my answer to that is: Yes, because I understand. Because I'm a parent to an 8 month old that I had to hire childcare for just to make this class and I drove from 30 minutes away in ice and slush. But that doesn't matter because it's not my business. What does matter is that I was told there was a 5 minute grace period. Now that I know that there is not, I know that YogaSix does not work for me. Extreme rigidity does not fit in with my life right now. Which is a decision I could've made before spending $300 on a class pack. My hope is that this review provides someone else the transparency i wanted for myself. update in response to management's response: your reply insinuates that we've spoken about more than one incident and that i was late it by more than 5 minutes. was that your intention? the facts are: i have taken 7 classes and was late once. and on that day, i arrived at 12:03 (3 minutes late) and was not allowed entry. why not check the cameras to confirm? that contradicts your statements upon sign up and in your response that you have a 5 minute grace period. i'm also not the only review to mention this and you seem to be defensive in receiving feedback instead of looking at it as an opportunity for growth. read more

I requested a stop on my membership and interacted with the Front Desk who assured me the cancellation was done, my credit card was still run without my permission. I politely contacted via email, explained the situation and they REFUSED to reverse the transaction. Teachers are okay but the Management is not to be trusted. Thanks for keeping my 149. read more

I took a hot yoga class with Ms. Dingwall recently & found her attitude and demeanor very off-putting. I recently had an injury & couldn't keep up with the class & did not receive the kindness, patience, or support I would've expected from the instructor. read more

Loved my yoga instructors. Unfortunately, will be cancelling my membership after coming here for a year. I have always been early and on time for my classes. I always called ahead if I needed to cancel, but the one day I am 2 minutes late the two ladies at the reception would not let me in regardless of them stating the 5 minute grace policy. I walked in at 12:03PM on the dot and said "I know im 2 minutes late" and she stated class has started and I could not go in. She then stated "we have a 5 minute grace period so we can't let you in because of the people above us", but i looked at my phone to show the clock as she stated that and told her we'll I was only 2 minutes late and it is now 12:04 as you're still talking to me when I could have been inside the class already, mine you if class began at 12PM I still arrived before the "5 minute" grace period that she stated. I drive 25 minutes to come here every week because it is the closest location and I love my instructors, but now I will no longer come after this. The receptionists clearly do not care about their loyal customers and don't even follow their own policies, when I have been in class many times and have seen them allow others to walk in mid class more than 5 minutes late and allow them to set up and join. If I am stuck in traffic I am obviously not able to call in the middle of driving to let them know I am late when it was only by 2-3 minutes. If I was going to be later than that, clearly I would have called and let them know I can't make it. Ridiculous. read more

I started going here when they opened in August. I've been very happy with the variety of classes. I can even do a Yoga Sculpt class with weights several times a week. The studio is very new, modern and clean. They have nice soft lighting and good music. They also have Flo water in the lobby so you can fill your water bottle. This place is saving me and healing me, emotionally and mentally. And that is not an exaggeration. I have been looking for a long time for a yoga studio that helped me feel the escape that everyone always talks about when they practice yoga. I finally found it at this yoga six McKinney studio. When I walk in there, I am immersed in beautiful colorful lights and surround sound of the best playlist that match each flow. But the number one thing about this place is that I am very new to yoga and the welcoming experience and the immersive nature of this particular practice really makes me feel that I am not focused on what I can't do as far as the poses. I was looking for a new yoga studio as I am looking to relocate from Seattle. After researching the local studios it seemed like this was the best place. I wasn't wrong there. They were very welcoming and made me feel right at home. I went to 3 classes with 3 different instructors and all of them were good. My favorite was Jessica's Sunday morning class. Everyone seemed to know each other quite well, definitely a yoga family. I highly recommend this studio. I look forward to coming back when I return. read more

I have been a members since September of 2020 when the world was crazy and much of it shut down. I needed to get out and get centered and decided one of the best ways to not lose my mind during the worst pandemic of our generation was to get in shape. Part of that plan was a membership to Y6. I fell in love with it so fast that the first chance I got to purchase a year membership I did. There is really only good to report. The place is SPOTLESS! They take cleaning very seriously. From the start this is how it was and it has never faltered. The mats are spaced out with little circle markers to ensure your own social distancing. I haven't had one instructor I didn't like and while there are instructors/classes I enjoy more than others, I promise you they are all very qualified. There are 6 different classes which you can read about on their website and now they offer some mix classes which combine a few of the different types of classes. They have a flo water machine so you can fill up before class, they diffuse essential oils into the air, the lighting is set for the mood of the class. They will loan you blocks and weights (for the sculpt class) if you need them. Everyone is super nice, from the owner Sherri to the manager Sam. Honestly, I can't say enough about it. Just join! I always enter the studio so happy and leave refreshed and renewed. If you want a great work out - do Sculpt and Flow, if you want to sweat it out do Hot Yoga or Power, if you want to zen out and stretch and feel amazing and ready for bed do Restore (with Tereney). Slow Flow is the perfect class. If you are new to Yoga or it has been a while, take the 101 class and get back to basics. I love the ease of the app to book classes and keep track of how many I have done. You are also rewarded with their Warrior program for milestones you achieve. One of the most amazing perks to this membership is that you can take a class anywhere in the nation if you are traveling. OR you can take a virtual class from the comfort of your home or your hotel room (which I have done often). Anyway this review is getting long but it is rare in this day and age that you can give your business to someone and get so much back in return. No politics, no division, nothing but Yoga - and an amazing community that is just getting started so join us :) read more

In this season of Thankfulness, I just need to acknowledge the gift this place has become since it opened. The community at Y6 is so positive, friendly, and just welcoming. The Y6 staff (owner, manager, teachers) are just lovely people. The sanitary measures are off the charts! I feel so safe here and that is saying a lot these days in the world of Covid-19. Everyone is meticulous about clean! The studio is cleaned after every class, and there is a special air-conditioning system for the studio, which is a nice touch. The studio is beautiful, modern, clean. There are Y6 markers on the floor to show you where you are supposed to place your mat to mind the social distancing protocol, and masks are required off the mat. Y6 offers an app that allows you to sign up for classes in advance with notifications. I don't know if the app is just a member perk, but it's a nice touch (with the option to visit any Y6 studio if you are traveling). Their flow water system is divine, and the classes now offer blocks to practice with (so I don't have to bring my own) and cool lavender-infused towels during savasana, which is really nice when you are in a class with a little more heat. :D I'm just so happy to have a yoga community that fills my cup. read more

I joined Y6 before they even open their doors and have been attending in person classes since the 1st class on day 1! Why do I stay? As a member you really become part of a larger family. The classes have challenged me physically and mentally. I have so much more energy and clarity of mind when I'm attending class regularly. Lastly, there protocols in today's environment make me feel safe & secure with doing in person. Not there yet? No problem, every class can be attended via Zoom!! There's a spot for everyone. I was in town visiting for a wedding and decided to take a yoga class. I was really excited. I wish I would have been more informed about what the class actually was when I was called to confirm the class. There was very little yoga in the class. I would say it was closer to an aerobics class... which is great but don't advertise a yoga class. read more
