He walked me through all the goodies: weights, recovery center, sauna, fitness classes and a bunch more, all bundled into different membership packages. I was suprised learn it costs about the same as a cute TJ Maxx outfit or a full tank of gas if you're feeling like getting the full membership. And get this: you can bring a friend for free every single visit. Love that Crunch Fitness thought of this built-in gym buddy system, nice idea! I've got a few of friends who rave about how much they enjoy their membership. They say it's a great place to network with other business professionals or just vibe with likeminded fitness folks. I didn't sign up today because I'm checking if my UHC insurance might cover it (I might already be a member and not know it). But if you're thinking about it, I recommend joining! Upon visiting the facility to inquire about cancellation, I was informed that settling my yearly dues is a prerequisite. As a senior on a fixed income, I'm particularly sensitive to unexpected expenses. Given my eligibility for free gym membership through Medicare, I've opted for an alternative gym that participates in the program. It's concerning that Planet Fitness appears to prioritize membership fees over customer needs, continuing to deduct payments despite my infrequent use of the facility. I'm prepared to accept the financial implications of non-payment, as I believe the company's practices are unfair to consumers. I advise prospective members to carefully review the terms before committing to a membership.

The gym is in a great location and isn't usually too busy. You sometimes have to wait for a machine…read morebut it's not bad at all. It's generally very clean and it's a relaxing place to work out. My only real complaint is that several of the machines need lubrication and basic maintenance. I've told staff about them but they haven't addressed it. Also several of the machines are bent/crooked and have holes in the padding. I'm tempted to bring a tube of grease with me and do the maintenance myself. It takes seconds to reach into the weight area and add some grease to the rails. The tricep extension machine has a very crooked bar. IT's 4 degrees off level (the part you hold onto and push down with both hands) which puts unequal pressure on your wrists and elbows with each rep. Leg Extension Machine to the left of the leg press has really bad chatter greater than 140lbs which prevents it form operating smoothly. If you do a rep too fast the weight gets grabby and gets stuck. This HURTS. Dependent Bicep Curl machine is bent and missing a palm sized piece of padding where you lay your elbows. The handgrip arm is bent at an angle and is not level. This makes doing reps awkward and crooked and hurts your left wrist. The chest press machine directly behind the seated row machine and closer to the dumbell area is badly in need of lubrication. Anything over 100lbs and the force to get the bar moving goes up exponentially and it chatters and has jerky motion. The weights moving up and down on the metal rails get grabby and don't move smoothly. The seated row machine by the chest press also needs lubrication. Anything greater than 200lbs and you almost can't move the bar, then it suddenly becomes unstuck and moves normally until you do your next rep. It sometimes squeaks and chatters loudly when this happens.

Particularly enjoyed the Sat morning class with Taylor, which was a very balanced workout engaging both upper and lower body as well as some stretching. Instructors have all been really friendly and helpful to beginners, kindly giving pointers for form from time to time without making you feel out of place or discouraged. The workouts are enough to give you a good challenge without feeling overwhelming and too difficult to follow. Considering it's a new studio, I'm impressed with how well everything has been running, and would definitely return.

I just became aware of fraudulent charges on my VISA from Hotworx North Plano via the Square.com…read moreapp. I visited the North Plano location in December and declined to get a membership after the one complimentary class. I never set foot in Hotworx after that class. I do know that the gal that helped me on that initial visit left the company shortly thereafter bc I called Hotworx a few weeks after that Dec visit to see if they would waive the $99 enrollment fee and was told no.... So, she must have started charging my credit card illegally bc I never signed a membership agreement. I was adamantly opposed to both the enrollment fee as well as the 90 day committment. I have spoken with Capital One and advised them that I would inform you of the fraudulent charges as I am proceeding with a formal dispute. I have also contacted the corporate office to make them aware of what is happening at this North Plano location. Quite easy to verify that I have never been back to that location as there will be no record of me entering via the 24 hour access. Please contact me asap to get this resolved. My card has been charged 4 times: 12-27 13.44, 1-2 68.87, 2-3 68.87 and pending now 68.87.
