Sushi chefs usually go through an apprenticeship and take their craft seriously. I've had sushi in 5 states at dozens of restaurants, all of it was different. All of it was better than what I received for my order at this place. How it got the good reviews it has is suspicious. The spicy tuna roll was loosely rolled, the tuna was a pale color not indicative of fresh tuna. The roll I tried to pick up instantly unrolled itself and became a small pile of ingredients. There was nothing holding it together. I tried to eat it and had to spit it out of my mouth. The rice was terrible and what was inside was disgusting. The tempura shrimp was barely edible. The meat was diced up like a fish stick and bland as heck. The prices were terribly high which fooled me into thinking it was going to be good, which it was not. First time eating at the foothills location. I tried Yogi's first in town . I was pleasantly surprised. Great food both locations, but I was especially fascinated with the location at the foothills because the staff was extra courteous. We have been to this foothills location a few times and each time the service and food has been awesome. We really enjoy that they offer low carb options with veggies, instead of rice. The Arizona bowl is my favorite and my husband really enjoys the chicken and beef bowl. When we treat ourselves to sushi the Vegas roll is to die for! I am disappointed with myself for continuing to give this place a chance. If you are going to have mediocre, overpriced food then at the very least you should have good customer service. When I walked in to place my order, there was an employee at each register. I made eye contact with one. I know the other one could see me. You have to be intentional about ignoring a customer at the register as there is a clear view. I stood there for a few minutes with ZERO acknowledgement. Both employees stood at the register continuing whatever it was they were doing. I understand the need to finish up a task, but a simple "hello" or "be right with you" or "thanks for waiting" can actually go a long way. As I stood there being ignored I considered walking out. I had been here before when I was in Yuma, and I could only think of coming here again the next time I was in town. I realize it's quarantine time but my husband and I had to move out of LA, we had bought a house in town and whether ordered to stay in or not, our lease with our landlord was up! The girls at the restaurant seemed annoyed we were out, but we didn't expect to eat in, we simply wanted to eat SOMETHING. We hadn't anticipated getting into town so late in the week, and the electricity isn't turned on yet, we really don't have a choice at this point. After an uncomfortable welcome and ordering, I get my roll which has stripes of brown tuna. I ordered the rainbow roll and asked for no eel. I got essentially no salmon, which I wasn't even that big a deal compared to the brown lining that made the roll look inedible. I ate it anyways. And taste wise their food is delicious! My husbands plate was good as well. If there had been some quality control, I'd give them a five stars, but the service was subpar and the quality was too so I decided to leave three stars to ensure this gets the proper attention. read more

This was my first dining experience at a fast food "japanese" restaurant since I left the Seattle area and it was well worth it. A little on the expensive side, but no complaints. The chicken bowl was perfectly grilled and it wasn't soaked in an overpowering sauce. The rice was freshly cooked and the tempura prawns were crispy. This review is intended for the Yuma Foothill's Yogi restaurant. We've eaten there twice with mixed reviews both times. The first time, I liked the Katsu bowl, but the wife wasn't all too impressed with the Veggie Tempura. She said it lacked flavor and the selection of veggies put in the meal wasn't the best. Of course, that's a personal opinion. I tried to tell her you have to cover everything with the sauces!! The second visit I went for the "known" Katsu bowl again and, again, was happy with that. The wife ordered the Shrimp Garlic Noodles, which she thought was closer to Yakisoba with some whole shrimps tossed in. The shrimp still had the tails on! Is this an Asian thing? She didn't think it had much of a garlic flavor either. Not sure the sauces would help with that. So, we're 50/50 on satisfactory meals at this Yogi's. We might give this location one more chance with different menu choices ... although I'm reluctant to change from the Katsu bowl. read more

I tried Yogi's for the first time yesterday and the menu is made up mainly of sushi rolls and mostly variations of the California Roll. I also had the deep fried spring roll appetizer. I found the roll I ordered to look and taste like a factor pre-fabricated roll put together at somewhere else. Then refrigerated and delivered in bulk to the store. There was way too much rice in the roll and little fish to taste. It could not have been hand made in the short time it took to serve. The spring rolls are really small and had no flavor. The different sauces were so mild that they had no flavor. The wasabi had no heat whatsoever and tasted like green mush. There was food on the floor from previous guests. I recommend giving this chain a miss and a 1 out of 5 stars. read more

This place was awesome. I tried it 2 days in a roll and both times were amazing! The first visit, I got the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl and the Crouquette (Fried Mash Potatoes). I loved the Bowl, not the biggest fan of the potatoes. They were a little sweet in flavor, but that's just my taste buds, you might enjoy it! I took home the menu and saw the complete package and I knew I had to go back. So the next day I saw that you can order for pickup or delivery with GrubHub within the Yelp app, so I ordered for a pickup, I got the Chicken Bowl again but this time I got it with only white meat, which is a 99¢ upgrade but worth it for me because I only like white meat. I also saw they had a cucumber salad which I have to say was refreshing! It was pure joy and I would highly recommend their salads. This is a place that I think will stick around because the service it great and the food is even better! read more

I went in to place an order. Waited 10 minutes at the front to have someone take it. Once I started walking out some little chick starts coming out the back like she was just chilling. She was a great cashier and made my purchase smooth. I soon got my food and it was a good teriyaki bowl, a considerable win for not having to go all the way into town for Papa Sans. We were traveling. The order was placed while at a hotel, and although it took nearly an hour to arrive, when we did get the order it was better than expected. There was some confusion about which hotel to deliver it to. There were two similar named ones near. A few seconds in the microwave heated it back up. Next time I will try to be more specific. I have eaten here twice since they recently opened. The first time I had the shrimp tempura dish and it was very tasty the coating was crisp and the veggies and shrimp not overdone. The second time I had the chicken pan fried noodles, I really liked this dish, they didn't have enough chicken prepared for the order and had to fix more, instead of holding my meal up they gave me the small amount of chicken that was ready along with the noodles and then brought out an additional full order of chicken when it was ready, this was great as I was hungry and they handled the situation well. The portions are good sized and I took home some leftovers. They have several sauce selections to complement your meal. Brown rice and low sodium soy sauce are available. Food is good, can't complain, but there are literally 3 people "working" there. Someone needs to let the manager know that the phone is either not answered and left to ring or left off the hook. The square glassed brunette and young man are making nice food in back and are pretty quick considering the volume of orders they are putting out there. They need just ONE more person just to take orders because it seems that the one girl without glasses on Friday evening 5/15/20 was too overwhelmed to answer the calls. My daughter was literally the ONLY one waiting to order food at the register while the phone was left unattended. How hard is it to pick it up and say one moment while you take an order at the register? We tried to pre-order for almost 30 minutes on the phone before I sent my family member to order at the register.
