Neighborhood gem! We've done take out but it was our first time dining in and we're so happy to find a great local spot for sushi/sashimi/japanese food for lunch or dinner, or both! Service was super friendly. My husband was feeling a little under the weather and asked for another miso soup and waitress, all smiles, said if he wanted more, she'd be happy to not only bring him but ME some more soup and salad as well! I also have to say their house made salad dressing is so delicious as well. I would have asked for a take out container of it but the waitress had already gone so out of her way to make sure we were well taken care, we'll have to ask on our next trip. The lunch specials were fresh, well priced, and the place was spotless. The space is quite large, with easy to listen to music and had plenty of parking outside. Lots of people going in and out of chipotle next door and hoping YOKO gets the tons of business they deserve because it is so good. We can't wait to go back and try the whole menu. We came here for dinner, and we were seated promptly; we ordered: +All 4 One Roll - filled with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, white tuna, masago, and green onions +the Sakura Roll - filled with spicy salmon, yellowtail, avocado, topped with torched spicy salmon, torched spicy yellowtail, and crunch +the Dragon Roll - filled with crab, avocado, and cucumber, and topped with eel +and, the Yami Yami Roll - filled with shrimp tempura and avocado, and topped with spicy tuna and sweet potato crunch The rolls were generously filled and well-presented; I liked that they didn't hold back from the sauces. The rice was prepared fine, but I feel that most of the rolls tasted a little bit 'wet'. My favorite out of the 4 was the Yami Yami Roll. We were offered a small bowl of salad with ginger dressing and a bowl of miso soup - I enjoyed the miso soup as it was flavorful, but wished there were more seaweed and tofu. We were a little taken aback on the price on the Dragon Roll, as it wasn't listed on their Specials board; note that the prices here are more on the steep end, compared to other sushi places. It's walking distance from my residence making it great choice for homes surrounding the shopping plaza. Friendly service and consistent entrees and although it's not the best in the area, it's certainly not the worst. For the price of their food items, I'd say there are definitely better for Japanese restaurants nearby for similar cost. I like the convenience of it being walking distance and fast service. A local gem. My husband and I came here on a Monday and had the place mostly to ourselves*. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and the service was attentive but unobtrusive. The sushi was delicious and incredibly fresh. We both loved that the spicy run and salmon rolls actually had a kick and weren't overly mayo forward. While we only had sushi on this visit, they have a full and extensive menu of different Japanese dishes, so there is something for everyone even if you're not into fish. We really enjoyed coming here and will definitely return and order takeout from here as well. *while usually a mostly empty restaurant isn't a great sign, it was later in the evening (after 8pm) on a random Monday night, so not prime dining out time. This is the second negative review I've written, ever. I don't believe in writing negative reviews. However, after searching the web to personally contact owners of Yoko Sushi to no avail, writing this review became my only choice. I was greeted and treated as a criminal purely based on racial bias by a female server, greeter, and cashier who, according to my receipt, also works as a manager. She was extremely rude and unwelcoming when I entered the restaurant, which was not a big problem. I assumed she was having a bad day. However, when she rudely challenged me regarding my takeout order given the fact that I mentioned purchasing a beer along with takeout for my 31-year-old son (who was at home) and said she feared I was purchasing alcohol for a minor is where I drew the line. I questioned why she thought I was not law abiding and looked like a criminal. She had no answer. I made clear she wrongly judged me and then realized her treatment of me from beginning was probably not due to having a bad day, but wrongful bad views of others. I gave her a 20% tip and will never eat at Yoko Sushi again. read more

Went here for lunch and it was amazing. The restaurant has a nice, calm vibe and is clean. The hostess/waitress was very polite and the food was served in a timely manner. This restaurant is located right next to Chipotle. They've been taken over by new management and it totally blew us away with their food and service. My family took my fiancé out for his birthday so we were able to try a lot of different items. We started off with some hot sake and green tea. I've never tried hot sake but it was SO good. I might actually like it more than cold sake... perfect for this weather Appetizers: We ordered the hamachi (yellowtail) collar and tempura. They were both to die for. I love grilled fish so hamachi collar was perfect for me. The tempura was also so crispy, light and delicious - I sometimes find tempura to be too oily at other places but it was cooked to perfection here. Entrees: We got the nabeyaki udon, tonkotsu ramen, boat full of sushi & chirashi spicy ( - Korean style rice & sashimi with spicy sauce). The udon noodles were so chewy and honestly one of the best ones I've had in a while and around here. The broth of the donkotsu ramen was so good that I couldn't stop drinking it. But the star of the show was chirashi spicy.... It's such a common dish for Koreans but they do it so well here with their own little twist. I can't recommend this place enough!! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly staff and escorted to a table. The inside looked really clean and authentic, so I was very excited to try some food. Since we had 7+ ppl, we ordered a sushi and sashimi combo, udon, tempura, and few more additional rolls. It didn't take too long for us to get our food, and once I received, I was thrilled! By just looking at it, I could tell how fresh the sushi is! And as expected, it was really good and fresh. And the sashimi was even better! It was really thick and fresh. This was my third or fourth time eating at Yoko. This isn't a Japanese restaurant btw-it's all made by Koreans. You'll notice that most of their favorable reviews are pre-pandemic, circa 2020 or prior. I ordered pan-fried Shumai, Yakitori, Combination Yakisoba, Miso soup, and the specialty Ruby, VA Beach, and Yoko Holic rolls. Let's start with the Shumai... At other restaurants, they are twice the size-these are about the size of a marble. Now for the Yakitori... I have never tasted drier or more unseasoned chicken in my life. I actually had trouble pulling it apart with my fingers because it was that rubbery. Other restaurants will use chicken thigh, sometimes fry it, and use a lot more seasoning. I offer that as a humble suggestion, Yoko. Now for the Yakisoba... We ordered the combination. There were approximately two shrimp and three pieces of chicken in ramen noodles that were clearly not homemade. Something tasted rotten about it, whether it be the sauce, or the veggies, and when one of us get diarrhea in the morning-and I'm pretty damn sure we will-I'm calling the Fairfax County Health Department and the Virginia State Department of Health. The rolls were mid-tier, but poorly wrapped. Not a lot of flavor there. My favorite sushi restaurant, AKA Sushi, in Bristow, is about 4x as good; Sushi Yen, in Woodbridge, is about 3x as good; and Se, when it was open in DC, was about 3x as good, but this is passable. However, the other missteps, on top of the food hygiene concerns, led us to return it. This is where it gets interesting. We return with almost all the food, aside from the few Shumai we actually stomached. Mind you, I'm a repeat customer. I open up the food, demonstrate what's wrong with it, and immediately we are met with derision and denial. The cashier came at us with: "Well, you've clearly ate almost all of the food." Unbelievable. Just the audacity. Look at the photos. Does it look like it was all eaten? Then she went to the back and pulled out her older relative, who explained how, "In all my 14 years of running this business, no one has ever returned a meal." So in 14 years, you've never had one single person who returned a meal? Hmmmmm. Even great restaurants have bad days, but looking at the more recent reviews, you've had a series of bad months. I won't eat here again, and neither should you. Again, I'm pretty sure I'm calling the Fairfax County Health Department and the Virginia State Department of Health tomorrow. Have a nice night. Yoko is a great sushi restaurant! They have many options to choose from and most of all, you can customize your orders too. The hot food section is great with Japanese foods and Korean foods. With the service, the servers are amazing and very humble and down to earth. If there are issues, they are so quick to act and makes sure the customer's needs are met first. They care for the customers and food rather than the business and genuinely love to see people enjoy their food. The overall ambiance is great and although very small and cozy, it's very nice and makes you want to stay. Many restaurants are very loud and very irritating but yoko is completely calm and peaceful and overall so great. I came here for many meetings, birthdays, and just to eat with friends and it never disappoints. I highly recommend for everyone to try out this spot share with others. read more

The lunch/dinner boxes hit the spot with a clear miso soup and side salad as starters. They have very friendly service and great, fresh fish. I would start with Kenny and Yoko rolls as I am a salmon and tuna type. But I am also a huge fan of their tempura, the shrimp in particular. Riding the shrimp train, get the shrimp fried dumplings. Spicy tuna is my favorite roll and I was disappointed that it was made with spicy flakes and not spicy mayo. The sizes of the cucumber and avocado rolls were a bit underwhelming, based on their price. The volcano shrimp was excellent. Shrimp, cucumber, spicy mayo, and sesame seeds/masago on the outside. Hands down to the best sushi place ever! We come here almost every month for the salmon sashimi (the best in this area and the price is reasonable given the quality - 12 pieces for $24.95). Rainbow roll and rock & roll are also our favs! $50-$60 for a meal for 2 is so worth it (our w P/s: the restaurant is spacious so you will be able to be seated right away. I cam here just because I needed a bento box fix! You know a box that has like 5 different things and let's you have a variety of foods? Yes, I am about this life. The bento boxes themselves are pretty large, with an entire appetizer order of tempura per box. I'm talking two pieces of shrimp and all of the veggies. I got the salmon teriyaki, and it was good, nothing spectacular but not bad at all. My man got the beef teriyaki and it was a little dry even with the sauce. The california rolls were good, no complaints sushi wise. The prices for the bento boxes however is a huge disappointment. Both boxes were priced in the mid-twenties near to thirty. The service was nice though, they were very prompt with water refills and removing of plates/trash. Would I come back? No, it's a little out of our way, but nothing spectacular. My wife and I have lived in Oakton or Vienna for the last 16 years. We've frequented all of the local sushi places. Our experiences with the food at Yoko were usually pretty good, but we rarely went because it was always substantially more expensive than Yama or Yoshi. It got to the point where really the only time we went to Yoko was because the wait times at the other places were over an hour, and there was never a wait at Yoko. We did takeout from Yoko last weekend to give it a shot now that there is new management. It unfortunately was the worst sushi experience we've had, maybe ever. Every single piece of fish smelled and tasted off. The scallop was rubbery and chewy, most of the nigiri was sinewy, the Fuji roll was downright inedible - I was able to choke down two pieces and gave up because it tasted so bad. Thankfully I did stop, because something I ate gave me food poisoning and I spent much of that evening in the bathroom. The worst part of it all is that the prices were still the same. We hoped with new management the quality would've remained good and the prices would be more reasonable - but this was such a bad experience we won't be back. Unfortunately we've had such bad experiences at Yoko, Yama, and Yoshi in the past 6 months that the only Vienna sushi place we'll go to anymore is Koji. read more

This restaurant is tucked with a bunch of other shops in a shopping area. There's ample parking and the prices are reasonable. I went here for dinner with some friends. I ordered the sashmi sushi and a tempura roll. I find that the food was pretty decent. However one of my main issues was that the rolls were not tightly rolled. Everytime I went to pick up a piece of sushi, the rice and all the fillings would just fall out. I saw that the other people that ordered sushi rolls experienced similar issues.That being said the food was fairly good. Sidenote, someone in my group ordered a noodle dish and it looked amazing. My other gripe was that service was kinda slow esp for a slow week night (Thurs). No one in my group had their waters or teas refilled. And when we wanted our checks a girl in my group had to walk up and talk to our waiter. I have to be honest, I don't think I will go out of my way for sushi here. read more
