AMAZING! Firstly, the outdoor and indoor seating is very chic and cute. We choose to sit outside. One thing that stood out to me immediately on the menu was that they import their fish and seafoods from the Aegean on the Mediterranean which super cool! I really enjoyed my meal! The preparation of the fish was perfect. The skin was crispy, lightly seasoned just like in Greece. It's the closest thing to Greek food I've had here, at least in regards to the dish. The lamb shank was alright aromas and flavor could've been a little stronger for the red sauce. I was also happy that none of the seafood had a fishy taste to it. They also deboned the branzino. The fish also had a lot of meat so I felt as though I got my moneys worth. As for the grilled octopus it was a little tough in the fatty areas, but overall the flavor and quality was great! The feta psiti was so so, I had it in Greece and it wasn't even close. The dough was a square and it wasn't flaky and delicious like I had. Enjoyed a great meal with our party of 7 tonight , Saturday night! We ordered a bunch of appetizers: halloumi, greek salad, zucchini, dips, saganaki, and entrees and desserts as well. Sorry I don't have photos of everything. The food, service and ambiance were all excellent. I loved the open and airy feel of the restaurant with the big windows and great sunlight. This is the 2nd location I have been to and so far this one is my favorite. Parking is a little wonky as the town gets pretty busy during prime dining hours. This is my first visit to the Mosaic District and I enjoyed the "feel". Most of the eateries had an outside area to eat, which is nice for people watching. That said, on to my experience. First, the outside drew me right in - evil eye - yes! The inside was very clean (including restroom) and had a modern Mediterranean feel to it. We were greeted immediately and asked our preference for inside or out. I chose inside bc the outside was quite full. Our waiter came right over with water. It took a minute for him to come back, but I wasn't in a hurry and they were very busy. We chose to order multiple apps (instead of dinner entrees) to get a taste of many things. I am not going to remember or spell the names of the dishes correctly so forgive me; I'm going to just describe what we ordered. The meatballs - delicious, juicy, herbaceous The dip with fish row - this was salty, as it should be, but not too salty. The pita was perfection. I loved this. The halloumi cheese - wow! The best I've had. The beet salad - lots of diced up beets and the vinaigrette was very tasty. This salad was big! With a protein on it, it would definitely be a meal. The calamari - this was disappointing. It was cooked correctly, but really had no flavor, even after we squirted it with lemon and added salt. I did not love the lemon dip/sauce accompaniment. If you are going to try the calamari, I would suggest getting it on the side. Dessert - Capital Y, yum! The orange sponge cake, well, it was a little bit of heaven. It is a very wet cake and very orange forward, just fyi. The donuts with Nutella - if you like loukoumades and Nutella, you'll love it! I did. Finally, I had the Mythos lager. Not light like a Miller Lite, but definitely not heavy and hoppy like an IPA. I enjoyed it. My husband had the Greek coffee. He said it was fine, but not very full bodied. I've never had a Greek coffee, so I can't speak to that. I liked that they asked him if he wanted it: not sweet, mid, or sweet. The food and ambience were both excellent (truly a 5/5!) The owner (or who we believe was the owner) also came by our table to check in and talk with us about the food, and he was very friendly. We appreciated that interaction and thought it added a nice personal touch to the meal. That being said, the end of the experience felt rushed once the restaurant got busier. Our server came by our table multiple times asking if we were still working on our food and even offered boxes on one occasion, despite us clearly still eating. It felt like there was pressure to clear the table. At one point, a different staff member also asked if she could take some of our plates. My friend had finished, so she said yes, but I was still eating and she almost removed my plate and I had to stop her. We were a bit confused by the urgency since there were still empty tables and no visible wait for seating. Unfortunately, it made the end of the meal uncomfortable for me, as I don't eat well when I feel rushed. I came here to freshly painted in blue and white Eugenia on a weekday right around noon. I know Eugenia has been around a few years, but this was my first go. I chose to be seated indoors to sample the ambience, though on this gorgeous early spring day, the outdoor seating where several people were eating was appealing. The interior design was wonderful. The staff and the interior are polished. Service was excellent and attentive. I started out with the lentil soup. Simply delicious! For my entrée, I went with the half chicken. It came with lemon potatoes and green beans in kind of an onion and tomato sauce. The lemon potatoes were excellent with a perfect tang. The beans were very good. But I was perplexed by the chicken. When I order a half chicken, I expect two or three pieces of bone-in meat. Instead, this dish came with two filets. I think one was breast meat and the other dark meat. Still, the chicken was good. The portion was pretty huge, really two full meals. The big menu, appealing ambience, great service and good food means I will be back. read more

Bean meaning to go for a very long time. A very enjoyable experience from the time we walked in the door. I want to mention I was meeting friends and never did we once feel like we were rushed at all. They were very careful to watch and approach in a perfectly timed manner. The food was all very good. The fried zucchini was served not at all as I would expect. Very thin, but good. The tzatziki sauce had way too much garlic. The fried squid was excellent. Probably the best I've ever had. Extremely tender, and the coating was not hard at all. The scoldolia (garlic spread) served in the center had very little garlic in it. It should have a lot of garlic, unlike the tzatziki sauce. The octopus was served with a lovely, what I believe to be, lemony hummus. The Bronzino was excellent. The seafood souvlaki special was very good. It was served with rice and Greek style green beans. My friends had the loukumades (fried donuts). They said they were very good. I had the galotopoudiko which was good--could've been a little bigger for the price. Will definitely go back. My only comment is for the prices, I would expect a little nicer atmosphere. It's a little cold and baron. The atmosphere at Nostos is better. I met a colleague here for dinner on a recent biz trip and it was absolutely fabulous! It's a lovely space, with not-over-the-top Greek influences and light and bright decor. Our server was so friendly and wonderful. Even though we arrived a bit late in the day due to my flight being late) he was gracious, welcoming, and super helpful as I tried to figure out what to order. While I was more than tempted buy their entree options, since it was late I decided on an octopus appy and bowl of avgolemono soup. The octopus was fresh, tender, and perfectly grilled. And the soup was rich, thick, and divine. It was the perfect way to start my trip to Virginia, and I'll definitely make a point of coming back next time I'm in town! read more

I had occasion to meet my husband for lunch here one early summer Friday afternoon and enjoyed watching other groups come in and kick off their weekends early. Our server took good care of us and my spritz was strong! I can't miss saganaki if eating in person at a Greek spot then I tucked into their (Greek) salad with a grilled shrimp add on. A complete breakdown at 6:00 pm on a Sunday. Red Flags; +10 minutes go by after being seated w/o acknowledgement or water service. Despite a light crowd and high staff, nobody else notices / cares. Then... only 2 out of 3 entrees arrive. This also goes unnoticed and unchecked. When we finally flag down another waiter, it only gets relayed to our server, who shows up another 4-5 minutes later, confused about the problem. Rather than acknowledging that the order was lost and suggesting an alternative, the server rushes the third dish (without any communication), and it arrives after the rest of my party has finished eating. The obviously newer/younger female server is then confused that I no longer want the dish and disappears again. At this point, we've asked for the check 3x times from 3 different people. Our request to hostess staff to speak to the manager was also ignored. When we finally get the bill, the never-delivered entree is taken off, but it's now 745-8 pm. When I finally relay this to the manager walking out the door, he then whines that he has been lied to! Come on, man, it's your team lying to you / covering up their mistakes, so you've got a big culture problem! Used to like this spot, but will never ever return. Ruined what was supposed to be a celebratory dinner by the incompetence and indifference. Somehow this still came out to a $183.03 dinner for 2 that I got to watch (2 entrees, 2 apps, 1 glass of wine, 1 bottle of sparkling water). In a rush, I left a 18% tip that should have been 5-10% at most. I've never been one to complain, but in this instance, a comp for only the meal wasn't delivered, which doesn't exactly inspire goodwill. read more

I had the watermelon, sesame coated feta and honey with arugula salad. It was delicious. We both had the branzino filets with vegetables. We shared a bottle of Assyrtiko from Art.Karamolegos winery Santorini. It was excellent. Our waiter was the friendliest, most efficient server in my memory. They lose a star for the noise level, but they were packed and handled it well. My only complaint was the main coming out too soon, but since my partner wasn't eating any of the salad, it worked out fine. read more

We picked up food for the first time from Our Mom Eugenia because we were looking for a new Greek place to try. It's located in Fairfax on a busy street in a higher end area. There is almost never any parking so it was difficult to pick the food up. I ordered the moussaka which is a Greek dinner entree consisting of roasted eggplant, zucchini & potatoes layered with spiced ground beef, topped with a creamy béchamel sauce. This was tasty, and different from the moussaka that I'm used to in flavor (more beefy and less tomatoes than I've ever had), however still well executed and was a huge portion, so the price wasn't as bad at $38. This is a higher end Greek restaurant so it's understandable. 4/5 We ordered a few different apps to try and the Greek salad. For a simple salad with cucumber, tomatoes, green peppers (I got no onions), feta, tossed with oregano, extra virgin olive oil & red vinegar, it was delicious!! The EVOO and red vinegar was the perfect amount, the feta was clearly fresh and authentic; must have been imported because this was the creamiest most full bodied feta I've ever had. My mouth is still watering thinking of it. Again, I would say the portion is family sized, price was $17. 5/5 Of course at a Greek restaurant I had to order my favorite, spanakopita. Filo dough spinach and feta pies with onion. They were moist and the dough was crispy (though too oily), with a slightly tart flavor inside. Even though they were larger than most, I wish there were more than 3 pieces, as they were amazing! 4/5 Next we tried the Kolokithokeftedes, Light & tender zucchini fritter balls filled with fresh mint & creamy feta, and served with tzatziki. Usually I don't care for zucchini but the flavor combo with the feta and mint along with the tzatziki dipping sauce made for an excellent and unique appetizer, though I wish it were a little crispier, however that might be on me for ordering to go. 3/5 Our third appetizer had to be the raved about Keftedakia, traditional Greek meatballs crafted from ground beef, fresh herbs, garlic & onions, seasoned with oregano, parsley & mint. They were surprisingly small and came with 4 to try. Although the flavor was great, they were a bit too dry for my taste; I may have to try it at the restaurant next time. 4/5 My husband had the Solomos, Atlantic salmon fillet grilled with bright lemon, rich olive oil, & fragrant oregano, served alongside spanakórizo - fresh spinach & rice lightly tossed & sautéed. I tried the salmon and thought that it was cooked well, not dry and not underdone, the perfect temp. The flavor was good, and I enjoyed the side rice but thought it had too much onion. 3/5 Lastly, we had the oven lemon roasted potatoes. They were super lemony and had enough seasoning even though the potatoes were large; there was certainly a good ratio of potato to lemon and herbs. I would definitely order again. 5/5 Didn't get served but the packaging was great (everything stayed safe and leak free) and they gave us some free candies which was nice. Two words: grilled octopus It was the highlight. There is nothing better then a tender grilled octopus and Our mom Eugenia has one of the best I've had in VA. I had that accompanied by the spicy feta dip, grilled halloumi and feta psiti. I have now been a couple of times so I tasted the broccoli soup (which I believe was seasonal) and the garides saganaki with ouzo. If I am being honest, I have yet to have a bad meal. The Greek salad is always a hit. The staff friendliness depends on a day and time. In this last visit, while the waiter was friendly, he forgot (or didn't bother) to bring the complimentary bread. When I already got the food and the bread was still not coming, I asked if I could have it, the waiter responded that the kitchen is already closed and therefore they can't give me the bread (that they didn't give me while it was open). Went here with some friends for dinner. Food is always excellent. We had to change tables be aye we were right in the way of the cold air draft from the open front door. Management was very accommodating, however the server seemed pretty annoyed. Perhaps it was a language barrier and she did not understand what was happening and why we moved. She had a hard time taking our order as well. I will still go back as the food is fantastic, but hopefully this service challenge was just an anomaly. Their weekend brunch options are healthy, flavorful, and and a great way to start your morning off with family and friends. Service was super attentive and the food was fabulous. The food is rich and kinda pricey--I'm not an expert on the food so likely just need to get acclimated. There was very little space between the tables near windows and if I had a bigger butt I'm sure it would have gotten in peoples' food trying to squeeze between tables. The pro of that I guess is although we didn't have a reservation, we were quickly seated and that was appreciated. There was live music where musician was joy to interact with and made really wonderful memories here and so appreciative of it! read more

We both got a couple cocktails and a few appetizers to share. The food wasn't anything crazy delicious but I could definitely tell that the ingredients were fresh. Service was average, nothing out of this world. I did notice that there were quite a few fruit flies/gnats that were bothersome. Our Mom Eugenia is EVERYTHING! It's almost like you are transported to the coast of Greece for an afternoon! The decor and setting is so picturesque and aesthetically pleasing! The blues and set up feels so coastal & makes the dining experience so much better! The food was even better! We tried a little bit of it all! The three spreads to start, we tried the tzatziki, fava, and skordalia spreads. Each of them was absolutely delicious in their own ways! Paired with little pita bread slices, a great appetizer! We also go the calamari as a starter, which was so much more than we anticipated! The serving was perfect for 4 people! My favorite out of the bunch was the spanakopita, which was super flaky and buttery, and the filling was delicious. The service was great. They had a decent amount of people in the restaurant, but the food came out super fast. The server was very helpful with recommendations and took our order quickly. The ambiance was nice. The Saganaki cheese which is flambéed table side and is a wonderful appetizer. One of the specials was beef tenderloin medallions on garlic mashed potatoes. This also was a great dish and the meat was very tender and perfectly cooked. Ending the meal we had Mom's Apple Crumble Cake with French vanilla ice cream. Really yummy food! Came here on a Thursday night and it was busy, made a reservation beforehand. Would highly recommend making a reservation as it's popular to eat at. Only thing I'd note is service can be kind of slow sometimes, the host was slow to greet people at the front and check them in and the server didn't greet us right away either. Have been to Our Mom Eugenia (this location only) 3 times now and each time I left unimpressed. Located in the Mosaic District, they can get pretty busy in the evenings so I definitely recommend making a reservation. Between all 3 visits, I have tasted various appetizers, entrees and only one dessert. Nothing really stood out to me other than the dessert. Each time, something was either too salty or too greasy. Certainly, not worth the price tag. The dessert - Loukomades with Nutella - was yummy but super sweet. So if you don't like things to be overly sweet, I recommend asking for less Nutella or ordering tea/ coffee to go with it. On two separate occasions, I had the same server and she was always disappearing for long periods of time, ignoring our attempts of grabbing her attention and just unfriendly. Beautiful restaurant located in Mosaic district. A very inviting atmosphere with Greek/Mediterranean food. My first impression was that it had a very organized and clean interior. The menu is small but offers high quality meat, seafood, and veggie options. I ordered the octopus which I thought would've been tougher but had the texture of a medium rare steak. The lamb meatballs were delicious and paired well with the sauce it sat on. Service was a bit slow at first but overall, pleasant and professional. Not the cheapest option for dinner, but you're definitely getting a great dining experience with some delicious options to mix around. read more

I happened to stumble across this restaurant. Our server, Ana, was extremely sweet and provided a nice environment for us to enjoy or meal. The Greek salad was delicious and fresh, definitely was a need with the hot weather. The moussaka was not my favorite, and nothing too special. However, we got the cake for dessert which was delicious and had the perfect amount of sweetness. read more
