Even though emailing and talking on the phone with the employees here, i received an 8" round double layer instead of a 10" double layer. Not a big fan of cakes. Went there to start looking for ideas for cakes for my 10 year old's birthday. The staff greeted us as soon as we came in with smiles and a huge hello. They ask what my son and I needed and then pointed us in the right direction. As we were looking at cakes, another employee, Xavier, approached us and asked if he could help us find something or if there was anything we were particularly interested in. We told him we were looking at birthday cakes and he showed us around to everything he had to offer. Once he found out it was going to be my son's birthday, he took the time to see what HE liked. When my son finally narrowed it down, as a present, Xavier gave him a cake topper. Pretty cool and great customer service. We then wanted to take a few cupcakes to try their cakes and Xavier helped my son select from different flavors. We ended up taking 4 cupcakes, each a different flavor, and a bag of ojarascas. Turns out, Xavier is one of the working owners (who would've thought). It was really refreshing to see an owner practice what they preach and not just a fixture in the back office. And now on to the cupcakes. Goddamn these things are good (see my pic for description)! I can't decide which was my favorite but since I'm partial to chocolate, the chocolate and the chocolate chip stood out. The strawberry was sooo good. Really strawberry tasting. And the birthday surprise, wow. That was really tasty. Sweet but not overpowering. All their cupcakes were really big and best of all, moist and flavors well balanced. Very disappointed with my cakes. I spent quite a bit of money and one of the cakes the base part split and broke apart because the top was too heavy for it. 10 minutes after we picked it up the cake had fallen and broken into pieces. The 2nd cake was about to topple over also, but luckily stayed up u til we got to cut it. I called and the manager was the rudest, most unprofessional person I've dealt with. I use them pretty much for my family's birthday cakes but not any longer, prices for the last year have not been consistent and cakes seem to be dry/old. Cakes went from being $17 to now $30 for their smallest cake size and now have a design fee... for a regular small cake that reads happy birthday with balloons.... no longer a customer! read more

I will give them the one star for being able to create me a cake. That's it. They created a cake and gave me 25 really stale cupcakes. I was issued a cake stand for the cake and cupcakes and they told me it was a 25 dollar deposit to which my money will be refunded back to me once I returned it. I returned the stand and they told me I don't get a refund that was a rental fee. I could've bought that cheap plastic stand for 15 dollars and saved 10 dollars. I was needing desserts for an event this weekend and this was the only place opened when I needed them. I ended up getting 2 cupcakes (banana and pineapple), 2 cookie sandwhiches (red velvet and double chocolate), 2 petit fours (strawberry and chocolate), and a cookies and creme bar. Cupcakes: tasty but flavor was very light. Also felt like too much cake so i ended up cutting my bottom portion in hald. Not sure if frosting had flavor but it was good- a touch of flavoring added would had really made it sing though! Cookie sandwhiches- these were Ok. The had a good cookie frosting ratio but the cookies were a tad crumbly for my friend's taste and I agree after having a bite. petit fours: these were a hit! tasty and the perfect size. Strawberry was rated higher than the chocolate but both people loved these. cookies and creme bar: not a big fan. This was dry and had a strange coconut flavor (not a fan of cocount and didnt expect it in this). I think this was the least favorite of them all for everyone. read more

Too bad no stars isn't an option. BRIDE'S BEWARE: I've recently gotten married and ordered my cake thru Yolanda's. A PLAIN, 4 tiered buttercream cake...paid $800 for it. When it arrived on location, it looked like such an amateur job! So sloppy, like they spent a max of 10 minutes on it. The border between each layer looked horrible!! Then on each layer where they stacked the cakes, you could see thru the buttercream. I was so disappointed because I wanted so badly to love Yolanda's. The following Monday, I dropped off the cake stand and I voiced my concerns for the cake. I showed them pics I took on my phone while I was in there and they asked me if I could email them the pictures because the girl who decorated my cake (EMILY) wasn't there. So I said sure. As soon as I got home, I emailed them the pictures and my complaints...a week goes by and JUST NOW I received a call from a man (didn't get a name) and this is how the conversation went: Me: Hello this is Sylvia Man: yea hello? You called Yolanda's? What did you need? Me: um...no I sent an email with pictures of my wedding cake I wasn't too happy about Man: ...yea we got it. What about it? Me: well did you see it? Man: yup. I didn't see anything wrong with it, I delivered it myself. You sent pictures of the back, did you take any of the front? Me: lol it doesn't matter! My cake was so sloppy! Front or back it shouldn't matter! The quality was horrible!!! I was very upset! Man: well you know I did have to drive 30 miles to deliver it and I'm sorry we don't live in a perfect world where we don't have perfect highways and perfect streets and perfect corners. What is it that you want from us? Me: wow you don't have to be so rude about it! I just wanted an explanation! Man: well do you want another cake, or what? Me: LOL!!! Why would I want another cake when you guys couldn't do it the first time! Man: ma'am I just want you to be happy. I live in Chicago and wanted to send my friend a dozen cupcakes for his birthday Friday. I called up Yolandas because they have several flavor options and placed my order for 12 cupcakes. She read me my total which came $86 something.....$36 for 1 dozen cupcakes and $50 dollars to deliver them 10 miles away in Corpus. You have lost your minds!!!! Ordered a cake for my brothers very small wedding reception. The cake tasted great. It was very moist and had great flavor. One let down: I sent them a picture of EXACTLY what I wanted and they did not do it. I think the Pastry Chef just did what they felt like.
