We booked a parasailing trip and everything was seamless! You take almost like a water taxi to the main boat and they have the timing down like clockwork. You trade out with the slot ahead of you. We did a morning time (cheaper) and couldn't have been happier with the weather! On the way back, the guy stopped while we tried capturing a picture of a nearby dolphin. It's the small things. They do take pictures you can purchase digital for $25. It is hard to get your own due to having to stay seated on the boat. We had some happy 10 year olds and would definitely explore other tours if we return!

What a fun afternoon! We booked the dolphin cruise and had so much fun. We saw so many dolphins and got great pics and videos. We stopped for a while at the sandbar. I didn't realize this part when I booked but, at the sandbar, you can search for sand dollars (and there is a ton of them!) We saw and captured (just to look at and then set free) two spider crabs, too. Very pleasant afternoon and would definitely revisit next time we are in town.

We had booked and paid for parasailing for my husband's birthday with Bradenton beach parasailing, competitor to Yolo. They emailed/ called morning of his birthday to cancel because they didn't have the minimum to make it worth their while. I called Yolo and they fit us in day of and saved the birthday. Their team was great from the young woman who checked us in at the lime green hut next to Bridge Tender to the guy in the rubber boat who made sure we saw manatees and dolphins to the two on the boat who took him up parasailing and made us laugh. I can't thank them enough for saving the birthday after the other folks left us hanging.

My family and I went on the sunset cruise and ended up being the only ones on the boat!!!! We loved every single minute. Captain Mark was very informative and funny. He really made the cruise educational and made sure we saw everything!!! He even took pics with my phone of my family and I with the sun going down behind us. Having been there since 1975, Mark knows a lot about the marine life and the neighborhood. We saw MANY dolphins and different species of birds. The sun painted the sky so brilliantly. It was a sunset to remember. My kiddos even got to man the wheel for a bit which was the highlight of the cruise for them. Thank you, Mark! You made our vacay super special.

This is a TERRIBLE company! The captain of our boat almost hit another boat, did nothing to help identify wildlife and then yelled at my son. I contacted the owner, Ryan Davis who at the time apologized and said he would refund our money. Weeks later, I called back to find out where the money was and he stated he was not going to do it and he didn't care if I filed a complaint with the BBB. I suggest you find another company to sail with! read more

History

Established in 1980.

YOLO Parasail moved to Anna Maria Island in 2005, where it has been a year-round adventure attraction ever since. Now rebranded as YOLO Adventures, they are the longest owner-operated parasail and adventure tour business in the area with a 100% safety record. It's their daily goal to help people embrace the now and have an epic adventure!

Meet the Business Owner: Ryan D.

A true Florida native with a lifetime of boating experience, YOLO Adventures owner, Ryan, is an international parasail trainer, licensed as officer in charge of navigational watch, is able to operate commercial towing vessels, and can captain a vessel of 100 gross tons. He is certified in CPR, first aid, and basic boating safety. During Operation Enduring Freedom, he served as a sergeant and member of the military police, where he was assigned to water patrol security for Central Command and was trained in diesel mechanics. Ryan has also captained boats for URS construction surveyors during the building of the Gulf Stream Pipeline. Growing up with the water as his backyard, he can tell you all you need to know about the local area and the native flora and fauna.

On Christmas Day, I headed to Bradenton Beach Pier, basking in the sunshine and breathing in that salty air. The best part was there was hardly any crowds. So parking was easy, stress was nonexistent, and peace and tranquillity were the vibes. The real locals were out in full force, the egrets, and other local birds were checking out the people strolling the pier or fishing. Not much was open because it was Christmas, I'm not added to the charm. It felt peaceful, unhurried, and exactly how I wanted my holiday to be. Spending Christmas here during the off-season was a five star reminder that sometimes quiet is the best gift.

We went to a sand bar and scooped up live sand dollars (carefully) and a huge whelk and whelk eggs. It was a very different tour than last year, but she was so adaptable and obviously knows the area/ is incredibly knowledgeable about the bay, the homes along the water, and all the animals within. Then we moved on to catching some sea trout and other species. The guys wasted very little time between bites, we were on the fish solid for 4 hours. Everyone in the group caught at least 10-12 fish, it was a very productive day. Aaron and Greg were very nice with my boys making the fishing trip the best part of our vacation at Anna Maria. I've been on a lot of fishing charters and this trip was the best by far. Next time we go to Anna Maria there is no question we will be hitting up Aaron for a trip or two, you should too!

This place used to have crazy fun stuff like this waterfall in the pool for example. It felt luxurious and felt fun to be at even for all ages. But now every single aspect that was fun about the park has been stripped away. For example; the lazy river used to be fast and fun with buckets of water dropping on your head and water spraying and pouring above you with fun stuff to do with people everywhere, but now the river is fully empty and not one bucket or water pipes that leak water onto you are there. When I say zero I mean ZERO! Instead you've got this barren wasteland and husk of what it used to be. (Not to mention but the river is a bit TOO lazy. You barely move forward!) don't even get me started on the rebranding! There used to be this cool turtle guy who was the mascot and things were actually THEMED after him with like lily pads and turtle themed attractions; but now it's this stupid alligator guy who does not look welcoming or full of fun at all. Oh my god and the fountain sprinklers they used to have just don't even work. Like they're there but they just don't turn on at all and it used to be a big attraction there but now it's just dead. I can genuinely name 100 more things that were so much better then whatever lackluster amalgamation they have going on there. This park used to be fun and exciting, but everything that defined the park is gone. If you went there before it all went down the drain you'd know. It's really hard to explain how great this park used to be to someone who's only gone within the past year but it was truly magical. We need to get this park back to its former glory. But until this park gets its s*** together, don't go.

So why not five stars? Mainly because of the lack of communication. Leading up to the start of camp, the only information we had was from the sheet we filled out months before to reserve our spot. An introductory email would be incredible. Also, the paper handed out to parents about the presentation had the wrong time on. I was only able to confirm the actual time because we attended with a good friend who had the owner's phone number. Tightening up the communication would take Suncoast's Summer Camps from being amazing to perfect!

I wish there was an outdoor track and a better room for the kids to play in. I will come back to update about pricing and quality once we've been there for a bit.

I…read morecome down to Bradenton to perform every year and have had a YMCA Nationwide membership for about a decade. have never had an issue with using my membership at other YMCAs, but this time the Y let me know that I could come in for free the first time, but after that I would be charged 6.00 per visit. The front desk person was very helpful when I inquired further and she explained that since most of their clients are visitors, their equipment was getting used but they didn't receive any of the membership due money from visitors and it was really affecting them. While I appreciate this, it sounds like there needs to be more of an internal discussion within the YMCA nationwide program. We discussed some of the possible options and the easiest, though still inconvenient one, was to suspend my hometown account and then start up an account at the Bradenton Branch. However, there didn't seem to be a way to bypass the enrollment fee and so I would have to pay that and then ultimately close the membership down after my three month contract in Bradenton ends in January. It was one too many hurdles to hop over to join a gym I have already joined. While I respect that this YMCA needs to make changes so that their facility can continue to prosper, I am disappointed that a program the YMCA touts as "Nationwide" isn't really. The ability to go to YMCAs all over was one of the major reasons why my family opted to join.

If youre coming from Anna Maria, it's the first left over the bridge, so be ready to turn. We rented a fishing pole and bought some shrimp from Annie's bait shop next door (didn't catch anything though). If you fish, I think you need a Florida fishing license, which non residents can get for $17 online and it's good for 3 days. Dale programmed dolphin and fishing and sandbar spots into the GPS. It was easy to find them and stop. The only reason I gave 4 stars is price. Currently, other companies say they will deliver for a full day rental for the same cost as 4 hours at H20.

Parasailing Oh my goodness! I can not say enough about how wonderful this experience was. My mother and I took my two teenage sons parasailing for the first time! It was the experience of a lifetime! If we come back to AMI in the future we will definitely do this again. Captain's Chris and Anthony were so nice and informative. They explained everything so well. The boat ride for those of us not parasailing was a fun time too. We felt very confident with them in charge. Teri in the office was as nice as could be and helped us get everything ready. I was recently on vacation on Anna Maria Island and booked a parasailing trip at YOLO. I have to say that I will recommend YOLO to everyone. I was very nervous since this was my first time parasailing and I am terrified of heights. The staff and crew put me at ease immediately. Everyone was friendly and supportive and the cost was very reasonable. I had an amazing time and can cross this off my bucket list. However, this was my first time up, but definitely not my last. I highly recommend YOLO. We did the 2:30 Dolphin/Sightseeing Tour. The Captain was incredible. He told us about the local area, briefed us on safety, and even offered free water. We saw many,many dolphins. Exploring the sandbars was SO MUCH FUN. We picked up cute shells, we saw so much wildlife and had a nice camaraderie going amongst ourselves. Everyone from the office staff to the captains made this the best I could have expected. Reasonable rates @ $35/adult as well. Worth every cent, in my opinion. Would do it again. read more

This was our first time parasailing and it was an all around great experience! I (22) went with my two older brothers (28) but it is an awesome experience for any age! This company especially made the trip with their funny, cute ;) and helpful staff. Awesome dudes, awesome time, looking forward to going again when we visit next year!! We had called other companies in the area to compare rates and although these were not the cheapest they were competitive and came across on the phone as the most knowledgeable. From Miami and was in Tampa for a tradeshow. We went down to Anna Maria Island for the day. We decided to see the island from the sky! We asked some people around and they said go to YOLO! So we called them up and they penciled us in. Everything went really smooth from start to finish. And way cheaper than parasailing in Miami. All the staff was excellent and so welcoming. We actually had booked a trip before but they called and said that the captain didn't feel safe with the weather conditions so we rescheduled. We did the snorkel trip and had a blast! They have a cooler with ice and snorkeling equipment for you too. The water wasn't clear in the first area so he made sure to find a good spot for us to snorkel. He was very informative and was able to answer all our question.
