I recently visited Yomna's Halal Gyro Cart, which parks near my office at State Center, and I really enjoyed my meal. I got the lamb over rice with extra sauce (thanks for the heads up about that, fellow Yelpers). It was great. It's a good value meal (lots of food), made quickly, and TASTY. You can pay with cash or card or Venmo/Cash App (his card reader wasn't working when I was there). There is sometimes a bit of a line, but it moves fast so don't let that stop you from trying it. I'll be back for that rice over lamb again soon!

Really good standard Halal Gyro platter. We ordered the Lamb Gyro plate, which has become a ubiquitous addition to the east coast food truck scene. The platter is a mess of crisp and savory and salty lamb gyro meat. It's that ground and compressed stuff that melts on one's tongue. The generous mound of meat is adorned with a creamy mayonnaise white sauce that is pleasantly savoury and adds a viscous liquid luxuriousness to marry the whole plate together as you toss together the rice and gyro meat. The rice was well-executed: soft yet firm. It's hard to argue with this classic halal street food. And this version is a good one.

My favorite halal truck in Baltimore! I've been there quite a few times . Before quarantine my mom and I would drive to the city and get a lamb gyro and a plate for later . They have Consistent portions very friendly and speedy service.

Super delicious chicken over rice! The chicken is flavorful and juicy stand-alone, and even better with the white sauce, and best of all, the hot sauce. It has a good level of heat (not sweet like others I've had). For $7, I'm super content with my quantity and quality of food! I think it may be my favorite in Baltimore, thus far (and I'm brown).

The mixed over rice is so good, lamb and chicken are both delicious and the white sauce and hot sauce take it to the next level! Great food and super convenient to grab and go for a quick lunch!

was hungry after class and this cart was conveniently located nearby! i interacted with the worker very briefly but he was really nice and patient with me since I don't usually eat halal food and had questions. this meal was sooo yummy and filling & was $10 which was so worth! I did pay with cash so he said it was exactly $10. the ingredients tasted fresh and high quality. I was honestly surprised it was from a food cart, which has made me change my view on them. will def be coming back!

Lamb and rice platter ($6 w/ a free soda)

Came here on a Wednesday for lunch. There was only 1 person in front of me. I was choosing between here Chick-Fil-A and Nalley Fresh. But the obvious 5 star Yelp review got me moving towards this direction. At first I was skeptical of a food stand in Baltimore City. But one bite into the food I could see why they received the 5 star rating! The taste was great, the food was warm, and the food was super affordable. The lamb and rice halal entree that I purchased was $6 for both the halal and a canned soda. Perfect for my budget! In addition, it filled my fat-ass. For the halal you have the choice of having the hot sauce added. If you are bad with spicy foods then ask for it on the side. It tends to get spicy after a few bites. But if you love spicy then go for it. I loved it! The only issue I had with Yomna's is that there is no seating. I know this is a food cart but it would be nice to have some kind of seating near the PowerPlant area for customers to eat. Also it would be very inconvenient for people to park to get to the food truck. Just a heads up.

Best Halal in downtown Baltimore, I eat here everyday I'm at work. The guys knows me too well now. Cheap & great eats. (Cash only plus free soda) Check it out and I assure you will not be disappointed.

    Gyro with no sauce.

Got to eat from here when they had a food truck inside the Baltimore Convention Center during Otakon. They were serving a limited menu including Gyro's, and finding a good Gyro where I live is rare when it's not Fair/Carnival season. It was not huge but was packed full of lamb and vegetables. The lamb had excellent flavor and was perfectly cooked. I'm not a fan of sauce but it accidentally came on my third Gyro, and I should have gotten them all with sauce as it was delicious.

Happened to find the food truck on the way to CVS. People were on line so decided to try. The staffs were very nice and he suggested to get chicken and rice for my first time. It comes a lot of foods and chickens are tasty. I am not familiar with the sauce but it was good! I should have asked more spicy sauce though. I wanna try something else next time!

Ooohhhh this food cart i love! We always go out of our way to find this cart. Food is great, delicious and you wanna come back for more each time. And its cheap!!! You have to have cash though. I love their chicken on rice and we always ask for extra white sauce. yummy

The service was attentive throughout our meal, and every dish arrived beautifully plated with great attention to detail. We started with the Beyti Sujuk Rolls and the Beetroot Hadiqa. The rolls were one of my favorite appetizers. They were crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the yogurt and tomato sauce. The Beetroot Hadiqa was equally impressive, with beets, apples, walnuts...it was a refreshing combination of sweet, savory, and creamy flavors. For our entrees, we ordered the Riyash of Lamb and the Freekeh Short Rib. The lamb chops were cooked beautifully and served over couscous with broccolini, while the pistachio crust added a nice texture. The Freekeh Short Rib was incredibly tender and the rich beef jus paired perfectly with the mushrooms. It was hearty, comforting, and one of the best short rib dishes I've had. The cocktails were just as memorable. I ordered the Asfar So Good, while my partner had the Ashita Affair. Both were beautifully presented with a silky foam on top and were as delicious as they looked. The Asfar So Good was light, refreshing, and well-balanced with subtle floral and citrus notes, while the Ashita Affair had a smooth, creamy texture with pistachio and rose flavors that made it feel almost like a dessert cocktail without being overly sweet. This is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality of the ingredients, presentation, atmosphere, and service justify the cost. Every plate felt thoughtfully prepared, and the overall experience was memorable from start to finish. If you're looking for elevated Middle Eastern cuisine, creative cocktails, and one of the most beautiful dining rooms in Baltimore, Ammoora is absolutely worth the splurge.

Parking was a little challenging but nothing to deter me from stopping. I went on a Saturday around 1 pm and it was PACKED!!!! Seating is limited so be prepared to grab takeout at peak hours! Upon walking in, I noticed how vibey it was! All of the staff greeted me and everyone was just really happy to be there. The restaurant was so cute and eclectic, but again, very packed! We were hungry lol. I told the staff member that it was my first time there and he gave me a few recommendations. After reviewing everything, I settled on the tempuras Broccoli and the Neighborhood Bird Bun. Service was very quick and they had us in and out of there. They even had stickers for us to grab! Food: Tempura Broccoli-first few bites were amazing. Then I got to the bottom of the box and the house made vinegar threw off the texture for me as they became soggy so I didn't get to finish them. Overall, they were solid but if you do not like vinegar and have texture issues, they're not for you. I'll give them a solid 3 out of 5. Bun: the bun definitely met my expectations. The chicken was huggggeeee and likely was a chicken thigh, which was a good touch. Ur was juicy and fried to perfection. The herbs provided a well balance and the bao bun was everything. I smashed!!! I would definitely go back and try a different bun. Overall 4.5 out of 5 stars!

This is the best dibi lamb I've had!…read more My first introduction to dibi lamb was at a Malian restaurant in West Philadelphia in the early 2000s. Since that time, I rotate between poisson and dibi whenever I get Senegalese food. West African restaurants are a dime a dozen in Philadelphia, but a lot of the food is just ok, with many of my favorite restaurants changing hands over the years and after COVID most of the food is meh at best. I recently had dibi at the gold standard for Senegalese food in Philadelphia and was disappointed. Fortunately, I have been able to order poisson and dibi from a Malian woman near me and I can make a passable version in a pinch. Two weeks ago, a friend posted on FB that this was the best meal she had ever had. As this was someone I know to have a breadth of experience with food, I was intrigued by the recommendation. So, while attending a conference in the area, I decided to give it a try. Unlike the Senegalese restaurant I recently visited in Chicago, this place was nice - the furnishings, decorations, and even the restroom was modern but authentic. The customer service was also refreshing. As soon as he set the plate down I knew it was going to be spectacular. There was a glorious aroma wafting from the lamb (which I'd ordered spicy), the plantains weren't glistening with oil, and the yassa condiment was a unexpected treat. The lamb was tender, seasoned to perfection and honestly I was so enamored with the food that I texted my friend to concur with her assessment. I was stuffed but didn't want the meal to end and I didn't want to leave. When I finished, I went to wash my hands and when I returned to the table I was disappointed that I had eaten it all. It was truly an outstanding meal with remarkable service. I wish them longevity and success because I intend to return with my family so they too can experience the deliciousness.

I loved the grilled chicken and lamb -- juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The tilapia was a bit underwhelming, mainly because the fish itself has a bit of a muddy aftertaste. Pair it with a sweet and tangy Bissap -- a vibrant sorrel and pineapple juice -- and the whole meal easily scores an 8.5/10. I also really liked the cozy wooden hut vibe of Nailah's Kitchen. The restaurant is spacious, with plenty of tables and chairs, and the red, green, and yellow lights make the whole place feel just as colorful as the dishes they serve. Service was okay, but it's definitely a spot worth visiting for the food.
