I ordered takeout and got a lamb kabob meal. As I tore off a piece of pita, I saw a literal piece of Saran Wrap BAKED into the pita. I was appalled. I tried to call the restaurant to explain what had happened and asked to speak to a manager. I was not permitted to speak to the manager and there was no apology-I was just told to call DoorDash. This is no way to treat a customer. I'm disappointed to say the least and concerned about the safety of their food.

    lamb shawarma platter (delivery)

I've been loving The Kabul for takeout or delivery. I recently discovered their lamb shawarma and am hooked. I usually go more for chicken dishes but the lamb is just so flavorful. I recently tried the shawarma fries which comes topped with lamb, hot sauce, and a creamy sauce and it was SO good. The signature bowls remain one of my favorite items and usually last me a few days since the serving size is so generous. My only real complaint is I wish they would pack some of their to-go items more carefully. Specifically, the shawarma platters which come with choice of meat, fries, salad, and sauce all in a flimsy plastic dish. Depending on the delivery driver, the plastic dish is easily tossed around resulting in sauce getting everywhere and creating a real mess. I know it's not necessarily their fault if the delivery driver doesn't transport with care but I do think some better packaging or packing side dishes in separate containers would be nice. It'd also be great to see more compostable packaging being used instead of plastic. If you do opt for one of their platters, also know that it does come with pita stacked on top of it. This isn't mentioned in the description and being gluten free, I would've asked for it to be removed in the special instructions had I known. If cross contamination is a concern for you, maybe order elsewhere.

Delicious and amazing location!! Came here after visiting the aquarium and so glad I did versus something at the inn harbor. The staff were so friendly and helpful! It was also close proximity to the aquarium and the parking garage associated with it which made so easy with babies and toddlers. The kabob was seasoned so well and flavor. My favorite was the chick pea curry and my husband loved the pumpkin. Wish we took pictures but we were so hungry. It's also so clean and they cleaned the high chairs before we used them which I really appreciate.

Despite waiting over thirty minutes for my food while my partner's food came within 10 mins. It was an overall great experience. I really enjoyed the tandoori chicken and was very tender. I would probably come back but make sure to take out since it took a long time for my food to get prepared despite my partner and I getting very similar meals.

Afghan classic! Today I tried the Kabul located by the power live in downtown Baltimore. The setting is nice as they have an area for indoor eating and an area to pick up as well. They are also open until 11pm so that was good too. I was able to order my food on the phone to which I ordered the tandoori chicken entree. I subbed out the salad for extra rice and bread and I'm glad I did that. The rice is sweet I think they cooked It with pumpkin. I liked It but some may want to opt for white rice. The bread is nice and soft and complimented the chicken. The chicken was a bit dry but still had great flavor and they give you three dark meat halves so you're getting a lot for $13 The lady was nice and attentive to my order as well. I will definitely order here again

The food is delicious. Flavor definitely pops out. While I'd like to give it 5, the fact of thr matter is they don't train their staff or even seems to notify them about yelp discounts. The cashier didn't know yelp, didn't know how it could be used. The lady I sited that it may work for online order. I'm like how that can be true if I got this offer based on checking i.

Came here for a quick bite before a concert at Soundstage based on other Yelp reviews. I'm so glad I did! The food was flavorful, fresh, fairly priced, and fast. This will now be my go-to before concerts in the area!

I wasn't super hungry when we came here for gunner and only got the potato bolani. It was okay - the dough needed better treatment, frying bubbles in tough dough is never a good sign and it needed more filing. But it was freshly made and the filling was pretty yummy. My coworker had the malai chicken and it blew us both out of our minds. The chicken was melting off the fork, the rice was so delicious and flavorful ( typical afghan style with raisins which means it's a little sweet). The place was quiet and empty when we came in, and it pretty spacious. I will happy be back - can't wait for Ragz to try it.

    Mix Gyro Platter and Samosas

I often find myself craving the Kabul, and every time I give in I'm never disappointed. Everything tastes fresh and the seasoning is always amazing. Prices are great and the portions are big too! Usually things are also done pretty fast. My favorite thing to order is the mixed Gyro Platter. I'm actually OBSESSED with it, the meat is so tender and the sauce is creamy and delicious. The chicken has the perfect amount of spice and is my favorite part of the dish! The other platters are good as well, but I've found the meat to be a little dry. The rice and spices in the meat combos make up for it though because they're amazing. I also love to order their samosas.

The service was attentive throughout our meal, and every dish arrived beautifully plated with great attention to detail. We started with the Beyti Sujuk Rolls and the Beetroot Hadiqa. The rolls were one of my favorite appetizers. They were crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the yogurt and tomato sauce. The Beetroot Hadiqa was equally impressive, with beets, apples, walnuts...it was a refreshing combination of sweet, savory, and creamy flavors. For our entrees, we ordered the Riyash of Lamb and the Freekeh Short Rib. The lamb chops were cooked beautifully and served over couscous with broccolini, while the pistachio crust added a nice texture. The Freekeh Short Rib was incredibly tender and the rich beef jus paired perfectly with the mushrooms. It was hearty, comforting, and one of the best short rib dishes I've had. The cocktails were just as memorable. I ordered the Asfar So Good, while my partner had the Ashita Affair. Both were beautifully presented with a silky foam on top and were as delicious as they looked. The Asfar So Good was light, refreshing, and well-balanced with subtle floral and citrus notes, while the Ashita Affair had a smooth, creamy texture with pistachio and rose flavors that made it feel almost like a dessert cocktail without being overly sweet. This is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality of the ingredients, presentation, atmosphere, and service justify the cost. Every plate felt thoughtfully prepared, and the overall experience was memorable from start to finish. If you're looking for elevated Middle Eastern cuisine, creative cocktails, and one of the most beautiful dining rooms in Baltimore, Ammoora is absolutely worth the splurge.

We had an earlier dinner reservation so it wasn't as crowded at the beginning but was quite busy at the end. We tried a couple different cocktails and I loved both of mine - Ashta Affair and Asfar So Good. The Ashta Affair was sweet and creamy and the Asfar So Good was deliciously refreshing. My friend really enjoyed his Old Fashioned Date and had a fun experience trying the El Massaya Arak. For appetizers, we ordered Muhamara and Mousakhan Chicken Rolls. The Muhamara came with pita and was such a great dip. The chicken rolls were equally as good with their own sumac labneh dip we enjoyed. For entrees, we shared the Braised Lamb Shank and Makloubeh. The portions were large and the meat was tender. Neither were over seasoned and were absolutely delicious. We couldn't finish it all and saved the rest for leftovers - yum! We wanted to try their dessert and ending up getting the Ashta Bil Asal and Ruz Bil Karaz. The Ashta Bil Asal had cotton candy which made it a fun dessert to try and the Ruz Bil Karaz had a great caramelization coating. Neither were overly sweet which we preferred. It was such a great ending to our meal. I absolutely loved my experience here. Our server, Miriam, was friendly and attentive. We even chatted with the GM, Iman, who also made sure we were provided a great first experience. I cannot recommend this place enough for anyone who's looking for a boujee but amazing time!

I can't speak on the customer service because I didn't talk to anyone. I ordered at the kiosk and they called my number and that was it. I paid $19.45 for my meal. I order a side of falafels (3) and the street bowl with beef flank, tzatziki, and mild red pepper sauce. The falafels were way too crispy. I feel like compared to other falafels I've tried these were on the hard side. Thankfully I had some tzatziki sauce to dip them in, if I didn't, they would have been a little hard to eat. The flavor was okay but the texture was not appealing. I really wanted to get beef shawarma but they were out so I opted for the beef flank. I wish I would have just gotten chicken instead. The bowl came with rice and a lettuce salad that was underneath the beef. I'm not sure if the lettuce had arugula in it as well, but the lettuce gave sort of a bitter taste which I did not care for at all. Did not taste good so I would add a lot of tzatziki sauce to it to cut down on the bitter taste. The beef was okay, nothing to rave about. I was just very underwhelmed with my food. Not sure if I would give it a try again. If so, I would definitely get something else or build my own bowl maybe. Try it for yourself and see how you like it.
